Blanch giggled maniacally as she ducked and rolled across the small clearing containing her half built snow fort. She paused her pretend battle as she popped back up onto her paws. The soft freshly fallen snow crunching between her fuzzy pads as she wiggled happily. She had been able to find enough fallen branches and tree dander to give a base for the snow to pile on and create a makeshift igloo to crawl into. With that started, she had turned her attention on creating a snow Major she could delegate her demands to. His base had been sturdily built, and now she was working on his torso. She grabbed more snow in her paws and tried to pack it in tight. He was coming along nicely.

She nodded to herself as she stepped back, analyzing his build so far. It seemed he was now ready for arms. She swirled around quickly, not realizing how close her furry tails came to knocking down all of her progress. She looked to the forest floor and frowned. Blanch, without realizing it, had used up all of the loose branches in the area for the construction of her igloo. 'Oh well' she thought to herself. 'There should be more further from the clearing'. She turned back to her half built Major, tails just brushing the top layer of his abdomen. "Major" She yelled out to the torso. "Keep the area secure while I go into enemy territory for supplies. Call out to me if there's trouble." With a quick nod she wandered away from her clearing, her footsteps filling in without her notice.

A few minutes into the forest brought her to a pause. The trees were much closer together here. "....Major." She called out, looking all around her. "I forgot to ask... Any preference on what your arms look like?" She took a few more steps, finally seeing the snow coming down around her. Mostly because that was basically all she could see after five feet in front of her. "Major?" Her voice wavered as she continued to call out. Maybe he hadn't heard her before. "Sound off Major!" Her voice high pitched now. She had no idea what direction her fort and the Major were. Not to mention how to get home. And her parents would worry about her for sure now. Blanch cursed under her breath. She was in trouble now.

Blanch's lungs were starting to burn a little as the cold air rushed in quickly, not having any time to cool coming down her trachea. Her breathes were coming in quck and shallow now with her panic. Her ears had been fully upright, listening for any clues that would lead her to her fort for her to bunker down. The second she heard the voice calling out her ears fell flat against her head and she scrunched up into her body on the forest floor. "Mm--major? Is that you?" The feminine voice surprised her. But good for the war effort for giving equal opportunities to mares. Blanch blinked the thought away and processed what the voice had said. Kitsune? Blanch had never heard of a Kitsune before, and she certainly didn't think it was a new title her Major had earned. "I don't know what a Kitsune is.... but I also don't know where I am..." Blanch tried to steady her voice, refusing to acknowledge the failure that was happening.

"Just so you know, I have a very strong friend near by, so no funny business!" Blanch lifted her head slightly as she called out into the trees and the snow. Her fear still controlling her, but if she didn't get off the forest floor now, she would be covered in snow.

Blanch quickly rose the rest the way to her feet after hearing the stranger say "Safe". She could just see a smear of purple between all the white. "Mm--my name is Blanch!" She called out, trying to get the large mare to notice her. She was about to run the last few feet to her savior when she noticed the abundance of tails on her backside. Her eyes went wide as she marveled at how thick and plentiful they were. Her eyes were wide as the word "Marvelous" escaped under her breath. It took her less than an instance to happily bound over and excitedly admire the tails up close.

Blanch smiled widely up at the mare, eyes shining with wonder. "I have tails too!" Blanch bent her elbows so her butt could stick up higher, all three tails waving the drifting snow around her into a tizzy. Blanch couldn't help her excitement. She had been told horror stories of fluffy horses, but they had been evil. This mare didn't seem evil. Though, Blanch had never actually met evil before, so it was possible she wouldn't recognize it. She just couldn't contain her excitement meeting someone fluffy like herself. "Have you always had tails?"

Blanch almost booked her nose against Sayaka's as she rushed up to the laid down shifter. All thoughts of warning stories told of vicious beasts who can turn into any small critters and wrip your throat out before you can gasp in alarm. No, the mare in front of her had her intire life in her paws and all Blanch could see were stars and the flurries of snow in front of her.

Blanch giggled as the long soft hairs tickled her soft foal bristle hairs. Her eyes widened as she laid down against the warm fuzzy mare. "It's tickles! And it really is warm! I can't turn into an animal, but I wonder if I'll be so fluffy when I grow up. She turned her head to admire the numerous tails before turning back to the adult next to her after a couple moments of admiration. "Nine whole tails?!? I was born with three, but both my mamas only have one. Were you born with nine tails? Do you think I'll have so many tails when I grow up?" Blanch finally took a breath before smiling and continuing on. "I don't mind. You are a nice lady, right? If you were smaller, put ou wouldn't be so warm." She thought for a second then barreled on, giving no time to filter or think out her words.

"Well, I guess if you were small, you could perch on my back and keep me warm and talk in my ear which direction to go." Blanch frowned at that and dropped her head a little. She then looked back up into Sayuka's eyes. "Did you know I'm lost? I went to find arms for my Major and now I don't remember where home is. Can you take me back?" She said it all so matter of factly that it wasn't really a question at that point. Blanch trusted this new found friend would lead her home.

Blanch noded once at Sayuka. "I'm okay, I didn't or anything." She paused to think on something. "And I didn't get hit in battle either" she beamed at the now standing mare and giggled as she felt the tongue on her forehead. Blanch quickly got to her paws, her side starting to get cold from the now missing wall of fur. "Well, there's only one Major, and I don't think he'd win in a boxing match....." Blanch trailed off slightly as she remembered she would need to come back and give her Major his arms if he survived the blizzard. "But he should be okay if he can get a few kicks in!"

Blanch followed closely Sayuka as they walked slowly through the swiftly falling snow. Much slower than Blanch was used to at this stage in her life. "Mama's won't be happy I didn't make it home tonight" she looked around at the moving wall of white around them. At this point everything looked the same. "But I think they'll understand." Her face lit up as it finally occured to her. "I get to see your home!? How cool!" She leapt into the air a few paces and giggled. "I didn't know you could live in a cave!"

Blanch nodded as she happily trotted next to Sayuka, staring up at her like she had all the answers in the world. It made perfect sense that a home wasn't a home unless you were there, otherwise you'd be somewhere else! Her attention snapped off of Sayuka the second she saw the cave. She bounded forward in excitement, not even realizing the cold wind blasting against her hide now that she had left the mares side. "I can't wait to explore!" She bounced up and down again in place, waiting for the large mare to get closer so she could run ahead. The blizzard immediately forgotten as the idea of exploring caves flooded her mind. She hoped there was room for exploring. She took off and entered the cave happily.
