EARLY CHILDHOOD Sam was born in New York to Phil and Barbara Everett. Her father worked in Magical Law Enforcement and once Sam started Pre-Wiz, her mother began working as a Cursebreaker. Sam’s earliest memories were always happy, but when she was seven years old, her mother Barbara, was murdered. She was tracked down and killed by a man who had been arrested by her brother years before. At the time, Sam was at school and Phil was working, so they remained safe. However, the man did go on to also kill Barbara’s sister-in-law before he himself was killed.
Even at such a young age, Sam found the best way to deal with her grief was to throw herself into every activity she could. She played sports, read any book she could get her hands on, and after a few years even became interested in computers. When she got accepted to Salem Witches Institute, she already knew more than most any student.
SCHOOL YEARS When she started school she was put in the Chameleon house (though her sorting lasted almost five minutes). It was no surprise to anyone that she did well in school, though every so often, she did have a few behavior issues. She’d always found it difficult to respect authority from people she didn’t like, which ended up causing trouble with a few professors, but ultimately most of the staff considered her to be a good student.
It was her first day of classes that she met Thomas Hale. The two immediately hit it off. He was a muggleborn, so Sam helped him with things he hadn’t learned about the wizarding world yet. The two of them, plus a few other friends, became pretty much inseparable through their school years. Sam also played as beater on the house quidditch team starting in her second year.
As the years went by, life fell into a sort of routine, but things changed a few months into her seventh year. Sam found out that she was pregnant with Tom's child. She was absolutely terrified, but was thankful at least that the baby was Tom’s. They’d only been officially dating since the end of the last school year, but she already knew she wanted to spend her life with him. The staff of Salem also weren’t thrilled that their head students were having a baby before even being legal adults, but they unfortunately had to deal with it. She finished out school, acing her tests despite being quite pregnant.
POST-GRADUATION Only a few weeks after graduation, Sam and Tom were married, and about two months later, Sam gave birth to their first child, Luke. She had a hard time wrapping her head around everything, but she was happy to be starting her life. Admittedly, a very different life than she had originally planned.
Tom enlisted in the Air Force and the family moved to an air base near Boston. Sam tried a few jobs at the Ministry, but ended up going to a muggle university and studying computer science. Throughout school and after graduation, she took freelance jobs mostly focusing in cyber security. Maybe it was because she had been around magic her whole life, but she found computers infinitely more fascinating. Though on occasion, she did work with the Muggle liaison office.
After a few years, when the family felt a little more settled, they decided to have another child. About a year later, they welcomed their daughter Lylah. Then, much sooner than anticipated, Sam became pregnant again. To her shock (and ever so slight horror), she found out she was expecting triplets. Sam had never expected to be the mother of five. Especially before the age of 25. Sam gave birth to Bren, Grace, and Alec.
Luckily, things seemed to calm down, at least a bit, after that. It was another ten years before something else shook up their lives. Tom had completed his time in the military and he found himself looking for a new career. Somehow, everything ended up falling into place to find both jobs and housing in England. Sam’s cousin, Jack, ended up setting most of it up in a random string of coincidences.
They made the move to England, and now the kids have started school and Sam and Tom have settled into their new jobs.

EARLY CHILDHOODLuke Hale was born in a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts to Sam and Tom Hale. His mother, Sam, came from a long line of wizards, while his father was a muggleborn. He was the oldest of -- children. Tom worked in the muggle Air Force, which had been a long tradition in his family. Sam mostly stayed at home, bouncing between consulting on matters for the Ministry and muggle computer programming. When Luke was seven he began Pre-Wiz. Luke found he loved magic and was actually pretty good at it early on.
SCHOOL YEARS When he neared thirteen, he was accepted into Salem Witches’ Institute and put into Coyote. He began attending but a few months in Tom decided to retire from the military and pursue a wizarding career. He tried for a bit at the American Ministry, but when Jack, Sam’s cousin, said he knew of an opening in the UK’s Ministry, Luke’s parents made the decision to relocate. They spent Christmas at home, then went to spend New Year’s in England with Jack’s wife’s family. While there, Tom was offered a job at the Ministry in the Law Enforcement Department. After the holiday the family headed back to America so that Luke could finish out the school year at Salem and take care of the last few things required for moving to a different country. Luke was admittedly nervous to move to a new country and start at a new school, but over the vacation he had found that he got along quite well with Jack’s nieces and nephew, one of whom would be the same year at school as him. Jack being a professor at Hogwarts also helped his nerves.
Once school was over, the Hales officially moved to England and Luke’s just waiting for school to start again. ■ FOURTH YEAR Luke began Hogwarts, starting with his fourth year, and found almost immediately, that he loved it. There was still part of him that missed Salem, but he felt very comfortable at Hogwarts. He easily made friends and managed to fit into classes and clubs without too much effort. He also had Amelia Braybrooke. She became his best friend through the year. On their trip back to London after the school year, he spent most of the train ride holding her as she slept. They haven't exactly defined any sort of relationship, but he's excited to see where it goes.

EARLY CHILDHOODLylah Hale was born in Boston to Sam and Tom Hale. She was the second child, after her brother Luke and before the triplets. In her eyes, her life was pretty normal, but she was probably one of the few witches who lived on an Air Force base for a time. She began at Pre-Wiz, which she immediately loved. Any bit of knowledge she got, she was happy for.
Then her parents decided to move to another country. She had very mixed feelings about the whole idea. She'd miss her friends and she wasn't crazy about the idea of the food over there, but she'd be attending Hogwarts. Maybe it was just her, but she always thought Hogwarts seemed extra prestigious in terms of magical schools. It'll be interesting once they're all settled over in the UK.
SCHOOL YEARS ■ FIRST YEAR Lylah was incredibly nervous to be starting school, especially in a new country, but it actually went quite well. She was sorted into Ravenclaw, which seemed to be a perfect fit for her. She was a bit sad to not be with her brother, but her house was really welcoming.
Outside of classes and clubs, Lylah spent a good deal of her year playing matchmaker. Almost as soon as they started school, Lylah figured out that Luke was down bad for their friend Amelia Braybrooke. Lylah and Clara, Amelia's younger sister, made it a point to get the two alone together as much as possible. It seemed to work pretty well, considering when she went to spy on them on the Hogwarts Express at the end of the year, they were cuddling.
She's also very excited for the triplets to be starting school next year. Hopefully, one of them will end up in Ravenclaw with her.

Any obstacles she comes across are only temporary, and she does her best to get back on track as soon as possible. CURIOUS Bren wants to know how the world works. She is constantly learning and discovering new things. She always has questions and isn't content until she finds answers. She wants to understand every detail she comes across. HARDWORKINGBren’s not one to shy away from work, especially if it involves a challenge. When there is something she wants to learn or if she has a goal in mind, she’ll happily put in the effort she needs to accomplish it. She’s self-motivated, and it’s easy for her to stay on top of tasks. STUBBORN Though Bren never does it to be rude, Bren is very stubborn. She isn't likely to change an opinion unless there's really good evidence that she's wrong. EARLY CHILDHOOD Bren was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Tom and Sam Hale. She's the third child and the oldest of the triplets (her sister Grace and brother Alexander). From the time she was very young, Bren wanted to be involved in all the activities she could. She took up gymnastics, dance, and even a few martial arts classes. She also loved to watch her mom work on her computer stuff and do what she could to learn about it.
A few years after the triplets began Pre-Wiz, Tom and Sam made the decision to leave Boston and move all the way to England. Bren was not exactly thrilled. She'd always thought England was really cool, so she was excited to see it, but seeing it and moving there were two very different things. She loved living in Boston, and apparently, in England, it rained all the time. Unfortunately, seeing as she wasn't even ten years old, she didn't have much of a say in the matter. So the family moved to England and Luke and Lylah started to school. She's still not entirely convinced about the current living situation, but she is excited to be starting Hogwarts soon.

They were identical and he... well, he was born the same day. They began their lives in Boston, where Alec became quite accustomed to the hustle and bustle. Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before their parents decided to move the whole family across the ocean! It was such a long way from home, but it brought a whole new world to explore.
It was after they moved that Alec needed a new hobby. He’d been uprooted from the local baseball team, so now he had to figure out what British kids did... since he was really bad at soccer. He did find a neat old cookbook and with that, began a new passion. He discovered he was a pretty good cook, which was super neat. Plus his family was (usually) willing to taste whatever he’d made. It wasn’t until he accidentally started a small stovetop fire that he paused for a while. Even though mom had put it out right away and reassured him there wasn’t any danger, Alec was a little wary of cooking on the stovetop without a parent... or older sibling present.
