A blessing? Maybe it was then again suddenly having a sibling after years of being the only offspring can be jarring.
Pleiades was feeling like why her? She was content being the only one but she approached the Wishing Star one time when she was feeling wistful and lonely and the next thing she knew she had a sibling, a brother. She honestly didn't think her wish would be granted, she went due to others she knew going and didn't want to be left out or have to explain why she didn't go.
Now she has a brother who quite frankly was annoying as any male can be. He is constantly making sure she is safe and has everything she needs. Yes, she knows that is a very good thing, but the constant check in's with her is driving her crazy.
It just feels like everytime she blinks her brother is there to make sure she is fine. Some of her friends are jealous of this sibling bond, but she wishes for the days of being the only offspring.
She is unsure of how much longer she will be able to contain her agitation and aggravation hidden. Each time she sees him she just wants to snap her teeth at him! That golden horn that shines on his head she has imagined what to do with that and it makes her chuckle.
She decided to go off alone so she can think before her annoying brother finds her again for the millionth time today or that is how it seems. She feels like she can't breathe without him worrying.
Scanning her surroundings she trots off towards the woods near her home to find peace, quiet and to be alone with her thoughts. Entering the woods the smell of flowers are pungent on the soft, cool breeze and it's amazing. The air is crisp and cool, the weather has changed not to long ago and about to do so again. The flowers that are blooming won't be in a few weeks time as the frost is approaching. The vivid colors of Fall are evident all around her, she loves this time of year.
Her thoughts turned over in her mind in regards to her brother, Astraeus. He was so happy to have found her and at first she was thrilled to have a sibling. As the days wore on, his enthuiasm and protective nature began to wane on her.
Each day was worse then the one before, it dragged out slower and slower. The feeling of suffocation became a daily ritual with her. She dreaded opening her eyes knowing her brother would be there soon and would ruin her day. Some days she was able to sneak out before he came and he would be rife with worry when she came back and that just made it worse in her eyes.
Her friends thought she was overreacting to her brother but they didn't understand the feeling of suffocation she felt every day. His non stop actions began to make her feel like she was in a invisible cage that had no limts of size, just him always him.
Her one friend. Senka thought she was being to sensitive and didn't understand Astraeus's feelings about this. She tried to explain her side, but Senka kept saying the same thing. He is thrilled having a sibling, a sister. Try to see through his eyes and feel what he does, he is over the moon about you being in his life. Why can't you see that? You need to talk to him about this before you say or do something you will regret and can't take back.
As she walked she knew Senka was right, sooner or later she would say something she would regret and hurt Astraues's feelings but no matter how she tried to say something he would cut her off.
She wandered for a bit then went back to her home and of course soon as she cleared the edge of the wooded tree line he came running at breakneck speed. "You alright? I panicked when I got here and you were no where to be found!" "I was about to find help!" he said in a rush of breath.
Suddenly she said "I am so tired of this, you act like I am a foal. I am older than you are, can take care of myself. You are driving me crazy with this constant protection! GO AWAY AND DON'T COME BACK!" she shouted.
Astraeus stepped back at the words that were shouted at him. His ears fell back, he was stunned. He tried to form words but nothing came to mind, he just looked at her with tears in his eyes and nodded. He turned on his hooves so quick you can hear it. He took off a a dead run towards his home and didn't look back.
Pleia stood there stunned. She finally said something which was needed but she said the wrong things. Her frusturation finally bubbled over and she told him. The look in his eyes along with the unshed tears, his ears laid back, him skidded backwards to get away from her stung. She had hurt him and now she regretted it.
She started to run after him calling his name but he was no where to be seen. She searched his home, he was gone. His pack he took on his adventures which were few and far between because of her was gone. His home felt cold like she was unwelcome.
She cried standing in his home, she had to find him and make this right. He was truly a blessing and she didn't realize it until now.
