𝓛ong ago, when the very first faerie blooded mortal was embraced by a vampire, the name Kiasyd belonged to all kindred who held faerie blood. It was during that time that Finvarra himself was born and embraced into a collective that was not yet a clan. One of the very first such creatures, he was himself an oddity among oddities. Centuries passed without remark, until one of the Lasombra created through art and artifice his own Kiasyd bloodline.
It was then that all hell broke loose for the scattered Kiasyd, the children of faeries who had somehow managed to become kindred. Called the Lost Butterflies or Relics by the existing Clans, they became the subject of a hunt that would see nearly all Kiasyd not of Marconius's bloodline wiped from Faetasia entirely. In a bid to halt the atrocities committed by the newly minted Kiasyd, the remaining fae blooded vampires took on the name Maeghar, led by Finvarra himself.
Scattering to the four winds, the beleaguered Maeghar lived out their unlives in hiding, until the modern era, when Finvarra approached the new God of Vampires, Grendel. Seeking his aid to end the slaughter once and for all, Finvarra pledged himself to the deity, asking for protection that his kin had never had before. But rather than merely offer them protection, Grendel raised Finvarra up to the Disciple of the Maeghar. Between the uneasy truce with the Kiasyd and their newfound position as a clan of their own, the cycle of death and destruction was at last ended.

𝓑ut who can become a Maeghar?
Clan membership is granted to faerie blooded vampires. To be embraced into the clan, one has to be the direct descendant of a faerie or faeries. Any mortal without fae blood would not truly be a Maeghar, thus ending the lineage.
Embracing/recruiting thread here.

The weaknesses of the Maeghar are threefold:
They are vulnerable to cold iron They are more easily identifiable as supernatural They do not or cannot drink blood directly from a mortal, but rather from a vessel such as a cup

𝓢so you want to make a Maeghar?
What do they look like?
In general, they have faerie-like traits, though they may only have wings if their base race lineart has wings or they are embraced into the clan with wings. They may often have snow white skin and ebony black hair, often with black eyes. Some Maeghar even have a certain glow. Often, they are tall and may be beautiful or terrible to look upon.

𝓓isciplines
Mytherceria
A collection of powers attributed to the faeries and inclined toward the exposure of new knowledge, Mytherceria has driven many of its victims to babbling madness, or at least frustration.
Necromancy
A form of blood magic that deals exclusively with the world of the dead: wraiths and the Shadowlands.

𝓣he Mansion
Located in a place near impossible to reach if one is not of true fae blood - here's looking at you, Marconius - the Mansion is in grounds quite perilous to outsiders. Fraught with tricks and traps designed to keep the unwary and the unscrupulous at bay, the Mansion is easily accessible to one of fae blood. It serves as a haven for all remaining Maeghar, few though they may be.

𝓢tereotypes
Kiasyd: Not our fight. Give Marconius and his brood a wide berth. Do not even let them know you exist, and you’ll be fine. Lasombra: He mistakes me for one of Marconius’s brood and thinks that I somehow owe them. I do not correct him, for he protects me in the belief that I will repay the debt someday. Malkavian: Mad and shunned as I, he does not judge. I seek out his companionship and wisdom (for both are unique), but remain aware that the mood might turn. Nagaraja: We might learn a lot from these powerful necromancers. If only their feeding habits weren’t so revolting. Nosferatu: I am no uglier than he, yet he has found a home. I do not know whether to admire or hate him. Ravnos: He is like me, yet not. A distant kin? Perhaps he can help me? Salubri: His touch softens the pain. Or at least, it did once. Toreador: She sees truth where it should remain hidden. She is attractive, but I must be careful lest I become a part of her collection. True Brujah: Scholars. Excellent academics. Just a tad boring, but they are forgiven for that. Tzimisce: She wants to cut me open to see how I work. Ugly, hateful thing. Camarilla: Lofty ideals and pretenses. Such a thin veneer. “All Cainites are Kindred?” We know better. Sabbat: Stay away. Not only are they unmannered and crass, but this is Marconius’s playground.
