Originally built in 2035 by the Einion family, this beach house served as a wonderful vacation home for their little family, as well as a project for Emil to continue building and fixing up. When they finished the house fully in 2060, they lived there for a few years before deciding to move back home to Wales. Instead, the keys were passed to their only daughter, Aira, and her husband Aeron to maintain and allow their family to visit and continue making wonderful memories going forward.

⟹ The house faces the town, with a small garden in front, while the back of the house sits at the edge of the sandy beach, with breathtaking views all day and night
⟹ There is a private dock, however, it is in need of maintenance... and maybe a boat?
⟹ While part of the beach is public, there is a section behind the house that is privately owned and only for those staying within the house. Don't step over the scallop fence!
Nani was super excited. They finally had time for a family vacation! Plus, (on polite request from ma,) they had a few others over for the fun of it. After collecting the Moons and Alice, then making sure her own kids were all ready, the group went to Nain & Taid's summer house. It was just as warm and inviting as she'd remembered! It was such a nice place, especially after all the renovations. She quickly gave a tour, setting the girls up in a bunk room with a big window first. Rey, of course, could have the bed right under, and Ella quickly claimed the top bunk, leaving Alice to relax in the remaining bunk.
Next were the boys, who got the slightly bigger room. Sebastian happily took one of the top bunks, while Meallan preferred one close to the ground. Kinzlie got one of the single rooms with a lovely view, while Nani had claimed the biggest suite for herself and Laili. After all, they were the only married couple and it was their vacation as well! After everyone was settled, Nani made sure everyone was in their swimmies, then led the group down to the Einion's private beach.
Once everyone was outside and they had the beach chairs and umbrellas set up, Nani grabbed out the big bottles of sun cream. "Alright, anyone that's not currently slathered up needs to be slathered up! Everyone needs some sun protection." She helped Meallan get coated while Kinzlie made sure Seb, Alice, and Ella had plenty of protection. Linsey and Serghei were also there, so with hope, they could also help. It never hurt to have a few extra grown ups, after all. Especially with a big group of kids! Thankfully, most of them were pretty confident swimmers. "Oh, and you've got Mea's water-safe ears, right Lils?" That'd be pretty important too.

.¸¸.•´´¯`•Laili had been giddy with happiness and energy since the subject of the beach house was brought up and she was sure if everyone else wasn't just as excited as her she'd been labeled a bother. But as it was, it was another big family trip with her new ever growing family (and she means this literally, Mea was growing like a steady weed though she was grateful he hadn't taken after his cousin) and it was a chance to give them all a relaxing vacation. She knew school was just getting harder for the older children and with Bryn, he was still having a bit of issue communicating with anyone other than the teachers at his school. He still rarely speaks but the blonde woman is happy to note that he's been using more than one word sentences with her and Nani regularly, even some without his bunny! So she was especially hoping that perhaps a change in scenery would be good for the younger boy.
Bryn had looked a tad worried seeing that he was apparently sharing a room but Laili was happy to see he calmed that Mea had claimed a lower bed like him. She was promptly shoo'd from the room as the children went about changing and went to her own shared room-with her Wife, obviously-to get herself together before they were off towards the beach. As she began pulling out towels and setting up her small cooler of drinks, she heard Nani begin rounding the children up for sun cream and made sure to grab a child on her way over to help.
As she was finishing slathering Bryn's scrunchy face, Nani asked her if she had brought Mea's water safe ear pieces. "And the back-up just in case in my bag. I also have extra inflatable floaties and k-s-a-n-c-s if necessary." As Bryn became a better reader, she realized that just spelling "snacks" would entice him to think there were some available and when there weren't the fallout-while not as bad as before-was still pretty terrible. Therefore, she'd started mixing the letters up and so far, the lil stinker hadn't caught on, though she was dreading the day he did.
Old enough, old enough, old enough to know that We are young in love, young in love, young and in love You and me, we can see, time will stand still If we stay young in love, young in love, young and in love Yeah, we are young and in love

Alice had been invited to join Nani, Lalli, and Kinzle and several of the assorted children on a summer vacation to their cottage in Tramore. It had taken some sneaky trickery on Mrs Nora's part to get her permission to go, but Alice was happy for the chance to get an excursion away from her parents. Of course since it was a beach house, that meant she would have to get a bathing suit. She had debated wearing the swim trunks that still fit her, despite being fifteen now, but she didn't want to dress like a boy. This was one of those times that she could be a girl and by God she was going to be a girl! That meant going clothing shopping, but thankfully Uncle Seamus, Aunt Erin, and Genevieve had come in clutch there and were able to get her out shopping before the trip. With everything packed and a special bottle of sunscreen for herself, Alice was ready for the trip. As they were doing the tour of the house, Alice was happy when they placed her in the room with Ella and Rey, but then she had the thought that she'd have to possibly change in front of them. Thankfully she was able to sneak off to the bathroom to change, so she didn't have to worry about that. It felt both terribly awkward and incredibly awesome to be wearing a girl's bathing suit and Alice was ready to show off her swimming skills. She wasn't very good at any sports or physical activities... except for swimming, of which she was practically a pro.
Before they even left for the beach, Alice made sure that every inch of her showing skin was covered in sunscreen, even rubbing some into her scalp, just to be sure. Sunburns under the hair was probably one of the worst and it was something she was unfortunately well versed in. She was wearing blue sandals down to the beach, but once they reached the sand, she kicked them off and let her feet sink into the warm sand. Then she tucked the sandals into her bag. "Sebby! Let's go in the water right away!" Her blue eyes were sparkling under the matching blue sun hat that she'd gotten. In fact, her whole ensemble was basically just blue. Before they could go in the water though, Alice removed the tee shirt she'd worn down to the beach, carefully folded it, then set it in her bag. She then set everything down and smiled.

Ella was, honestly, quite conflicted about this supposed vacation. She would be spending the weekend with Alice, Sebastian, and Rey, as well as a few others... however.... the location was in Tramore. It wasn't particularly far from home, but it was a trip for the others. She also wasn't sure how she'd handle a whole weekend at a new location, with new grown ups in charge. Sure, they seemed friendly, but what if they were strict or pushy? What if they got mad with her eating and need for solitude? It was all quite strange.
One positive, however, was that it was a beach trip. They'd be swimming. Ella hadn't gone, but that worked in her favor. Since it was pretty close to home, Linsey volunteered to come along, if only to make sure she didn't drown in the ocean. She even got Serghei to come along, since he'd have a rare weekend off from practice. Of course, he didn't know how to swim either.... so that'd be fun. As they walked through the spacious beach house, Ella was delighted that she'd get to claim an up-top bed. Her bed at home was lofted, since being up from the floor made her feel safer... somehow.
After the tour, the kids were told to get dressed in their swimming clothes. She'd gotten to go pick hers out with Linsey, who thankfully hadn't judged her need for a modest outfit. Even the shopkeep had tried to give her two-pieces and say they were "in style", but thankfully, they found a perfect one. It even had a little skirt! After Alice dressed in the bathroom, Ella sneaked in to do the same. She then had her friend help her with sunscreen, specifically so none of the adults would touch her.
As they walked out to the sand, Ella followed her friends. Sebastian was getting sun cream on, thanks to his mom, but he seemed eager to jump in the water. "Hey! Wait up!" He laughed as Alice hurried for the water. As soon as he'd escaped Ms Kinzlie's grasp, he sprinted toward the water, taking Alice's hand as he splashed in. Ella looked out at the water, listening to Missus Nani and Laili talk about Meallan's hearing aids, which were quickly attached. Ella walked hesitantly toward the water, stopping at the very edge. Her feet were barely submerged in the chilly water, but her shaky knees wouldn't let her go further. Perhaps her worry about drowning was more worrisome than she'd anticipated. She wanted to join her friends, but currently, here was the best she could do. Brown eyes sent a worried look over toward her sister, wondering if she'd know how to get her out a bit more.

The trip to the beach was something Linsey was looking forward to for a while. It was the chance to spend quality time with her friends and it was one of those rare weekends off for Serghei away from the Kestrals. It was a vacation weekend with her sister and a bunch of friends. Linsey liked seeing Ella spend the weekend with Seb and Alice and Rey at the beach house, even if it was basically within walking distance of the Grey family demesne, as she recalled how Ella feared the idea of ‘an extended holiday sleepover’ not so long ago. She also looked forward to catching up with the friends she still had at Hogwarts
It was fun helping Ella pick out a swimsuit, and she was pleased to see that her sister wanted a demurer suit, if nothing else it would make getting it approved by Mom and Dad a lot easier. She was quietly amused by the shopkeeper trying to explain what was ‘in style’; of course, they had no way of knowing she was an up-and-coming fashion designer in her own right and had working knowledge of current trends. Linsey understood Ella’s choice of swimsuit, as she found that though she modeled outfits of her own design and did the same for Milan at fashion shows and was brave enough to walk the catwalk of the recent New York City summer fashion show, she wouldn’t do a two-piece suit herself.
’There’s only so much skin I’m willing to bare,’ was her thought on the subject, as Linsey chose a simple bright blue tank suit for herself, while her hair was pulled back into a ridiculous floofy ponytail. Along with the snacks and dishes she brought along as her contribution to the outing, Linsey had an ocean-rated floatation device, and a couple life jackets with her. She knew Ella couldn’t swim and guessed Serghei was likewise unfamiliar with the sea, and this was part of the reason she offered to come along. Dad taught Linsey to swim on this very beach, she’d been coming here since she was little, and the briny scent was one of the things she associated with home.
Linsey watched the other kids rush out to the water, including Rey, who was wearing a bright fuchsia swimsuit, while Ella took tentative steps towards the sea. When she stopped, the water was barely covering the tops of her feet, and Linsey could tell she was afraid. ‘According to Dad, I wasn’t much better the first time I was here,’ she thought, as she slipped off her beach shoes and headed out to join her sister. She ventured into the water and turned to hold out her hands for Ella to take. With a smile, she said, “Don’t be afraid Ella, I’m right here, and I won’t let anything happen to you. It’s a lovely day to learn to swim.”

Ever since Nain & Taid said they'd gotten access to a beach house - in Ireland, no less! - Mea was super excited to visit. He absolutely loved everything about the beach. Sun, sand, waves, and sometimes even nifty shells! It was always an experience! But now they were going to stay on a private beach, which was extra super neat. As they got to the surprisingly huge beach cabin, Mea stayed close to his mums. Their room was the second shown, and when Bryn picked a bottom bed, Mea did the same. He knew his brother still had some troubles with speaking and sleep.... just like him!
Once everyone was all unpacked, they were told to change into their swimmies. He was absolutely stoked! They headed down to the shore, where Mea was caught by Mam, who started covering him in sun cream. She asked Mum about his ears, then rooted in the beach bag for the correct pair. For a moment, the brunette was plunged into silence as his not-waterproof set were disconnected and put in their case. Following that, he carefully snapped in his new pair, then gave a thumbs up as the volume was adjusted.
Finally, once all that stuff was done, he walked to the water's edge. He could swim, but he wasn't the very best.... plus he had a better idea! Hurrying back, he grabbed the bag of sand castle building toys. "I'm gonna make a super fancy castle! It'll be the best ever!" He laughed happily, before starting work. After the first few walls and towers seemed to slump lazily into sand-piles, he realized that perhaps he wasn't the best at building in sand. It was far different than Nain and Mam's annual gingerbread building day, after all!

Despite standing in maybe three inches of water, Ella was very nervous. She'd never gone swimming before, and this was the ocean! It wasn't like a still pool at all! She wondered vaguely if she'd somehow developed a fear of being swept out to sea... or maybe this was just her normal anxiety. Everyone else seemed to be having fun, though some were playing in the shallows... but it seemed everyone but her (and probably Serghei?) knew how to swim along. Even Serghei had walked into the water, standing in water up to his chest! That much alone would have Ella fully under the waves!
Her timid form shook like a leaf, and it sure wasn't from the chilly water. Thankfully, someone a little extra trusty showed up to help. Ella gave her sister's hands a little squeeze, her honey brown eyes peeking out from under her fringe. Thankfully, Ms Kinzlie had helped her tie it in a braid that was currently sitting on her shoulder. She couldn't hide this time! At Linsey's reassurance of not letting anything happen, the younger Grey shakily stepped forward. "Y-you gotta promise not... not to let go, okay? I... I don't know how to do this." With a promise, Ella slowly walked out, only pausing to panic again when the water curled around her ribs. Oh man, this was super deep already! How were the others okay with this?!

Getting to swim at the beach was always much more fun, in her opinion, than in a swimming pool, especially not the one she'd learned in. Her parents had insisted in her learning to swim, among other things, when she was growing up to keep her busy when she was not in school. Of course, though, that meant she had gone to a religious camp that taught them to swim. It had also had a lot of other physical activities, all of which she'd failed at and had been mercilessly bullied for. Something about those day camps... But at least she'd learned the valuable lesson on how to swim, since now she was having fun splashing in the water with her boyfriend. After diving under a small wave, Alice stood up in the water, just her shoulders and head above the surface, and smoothed back her hair, then smiled widely at Seb. "Isn't this so much fun?!" On the side of her vision, she saw Ella's struggles with the water and a small frown crossed her face. "One minute Sebby..." she said, then walked over to where Ella and Linsey were. "Hey Ells, everything okay love?" She tipped her head, wondering if possibly Ella didn't know how to swim. The blonde wouldn't judge her friend for not knowing, especially with what she knew about Ella's upbringing. Heck, if not for camp, Alice probably wouldn't know how to swim either and it's not like the Antonovs would have sent Ella to camp. Alice felt a little bad for not immediately checking with Ella about if she could swim and instead just running full tilt into the water to play.

🍎🧀🍊🍍Bryn didn't really know how to feel about the beach, he'd never really seen one before. He knew that there was sand because his mums had told him and he did like sand; it was his favorite place in the playground mainly because all the noisier kids left him alone. But there was also allot of water, and that's where he was a bit unsure. It just sounded like one big bath, and while he didn't mind bath time any more (especially since getting those fuzzy smelling stuff for them), an even larger one just didn't sound fun. Especially one with lots of big people around. Still though, he had his mums and he had Mea so it wasn't all too bad at the moment. At the current moment, he was finally free from being covered in white goop while one mum was spelling something to the other. He was preettyy sure it had to do with snacks but he wasn't 100% sure. He knew he had some in his pack and he wasn't too hungry at the moment, so he'd let it slide. This time. His only real problem now was what to do with Bun. He didn't think he'd like it so close to the water, but he was nervous just leaving him all alone.
Laili seemed to notice her son's hesitation and came over to him. "Hey they bug, what's got you looking like that?" Bryn's unconscious frown lifted only a smidge before he carefully signed out "Chabbit. No swim. No sand. Lonely?" while also cuddling the toy close to his chest. Truly a rather amazing feat. Laili however just grinned at him while replying, "Chabbit can sit with me and Nani. That way, if one of us leaves, he's still got the another mum with him. You think that's ok?" Bryn thought it over for a few moments, sensing the truthfulness of her words before giving a slow nod.
His mum walked him over to where she and her wife would be relaxing with the other adults and showed him where his Chabbit could sit. He carefully deposited his toy on the lounger making sure to settle him so they could easily see each other. When he was satisfied, he gave Laili another nod and grabbed on the buckets of toys to go and build and maybe find some shells. That was another thing he had heard about the beach and he hoped it was true.
As he walked, he noticed Mea down closer to the water than he would like but also building a sand castle. Or trying. It didn't look very sturdy. Bryn huffed out a sigh but still walked over to help since this way, they could make an even bigger castle! When he was close enough to it, he could see that it was definitely not sturdy and had an idea. He went over to lightly tap his brother's shoulder to get his attention the slowly signed, "We need mud.". Bryn then very slower walked through the watery edge careful to not go deeper into the water than he'd like before finding a good mix of sand and water then just as slowly going back over to Mea. "Better walls." he signed again.

Not for the first time, Linsey wished there was some way for her to be able to extend to her little sister the calm and the ease she felt with being here in the water, and knew any magic she might use would be no more than a crutch and a lie, and those were things she preferred not to indulge in. Linsey took care not to lead Ella too far away from the shore, nor water too deep, and she could feel and see that Ella was shaking. No, she wanted to teach her sister how to swim; after all they lived on an island, and were surrounded by the sea, but she also knew she couldn’t do it in a day.
“Dad didn’t let go of me the first time he brought me here, and I won’t either. Besides, you’re not ready for that,” Linsey said reassuringly, as she kept eye contact with Ella. Drawing a deep, relaxed breath, she added, “Just breathe normally, relax, and feel the ocean all around you. The longer you stay in the water, the less chilly it will feel.” Linsey glanced over as Alice came over to check on Ella, and she smiled and breathed a ‘Thank you,” before shifting back to Ella and telling her gently, “We’re right here, Ella, and we won’t let anything happen to you.. Now, when you’re ready, do this.”
Without letting go of Ella’s hands, Linsey drew a deep breath, closed her eyes and ducked down in the water, allowing herself to be fully submerged. After a moment, she started blowing bubbles under the surface, before coming up and drawing a deep controlled breath.

Racheal 'Rey' Eir Ross-Heulwen Hufflepuff │ Third Year │ Thirteen Years Old │ Single
.
‘It’s been nearly three years…,’ thought Rey as she emerged from the beach house. After getting through another year at Hogwarts, the idea of another vacation thrilled her to no end. The trip to California was so epic, there was no way it could be topped in her mind. As rough as her first year was, her second year was much easier to deal with, as she wasn’t fighting sleep deprivation, violent nightmares, depression, and sensory overload while trying to figure out how to be a witch. Being in a large and active family and becoming a part of it, went a long way in helping her feel as though she deserved to be loved.
When the trip to the beach house was announced, she was as thrilled as any of the other kids, and this also included a shopping trip to pick out swimsuits. She was dealing with a growth spurt, in all the wrong places to be sure, so she would have opted out of it, but her moms and Nora made sure to make her feel special. Her wardrobe underwent a refresh, as many of her old clothes didn’t fit right anymore, and there were some she just didn’t want. Seeing the house and the sea filled her with anticipation, and she was happy to get a bunk by a window she could open, as the fresh air would help her breathe comfortably and help her sleep more soundly. Despite all the help she had, the nightmares still came for her, though not as often nor so violently as they were previously.
It didn’t hit Rey until she saw the city skyline and she realized where she was. ‘It’s been nearly three years, and I’m home again,’ she thought. ‘Except it’s not home anymore, is it? Maybe it never really was. The Kinkades took me in after the fire, I thought I was part of their family, they let me use their name. However, if I was really part of them, why did they send me away? Maybe having a witch in the house was just too much after everything else.”
Coming out of the house, wearing a bright floral pattern one-piece swimsuit, with a wrap skirt and a big floppy hat to keep the sun off her easily sunburnt face, but she made no move to head towards the water. Instead, she was looking towards the city, her thoughts fixed on that day three years ago, when Grandma Kinkade passed her off to Nora, and her very existence was wiped from their corner of reality. ‘It’s been nearly three years… I hope Holly’s okay. She’d be nine now … is she okay? The boys could always manage, but Holly? Is she getting enough to eat? Is that old witch too drunk and infirm to bother caring for her? I’d like to check on her, but what if she saw me? What then? Tell her the truth she might think she’s gone mad, and the men in the black coats would have to come for her again. It’s been nearly three years, why now?’

Ella was hesitantly stepping in the water, still holding on to her sister's arms. It was then that Linsey mentioned their dad not letting go, and her wanting to do the same. The brunette sent up a nervous frown, though one might notice her little hands gripping a bit tighter. As they finally came to a stop, now in water up to her chest, Linsey reminded her to just breathe and relax. It was way easier said than done, especially with Ella still shaking. She looked around nervously, hearing Alice and Sebastian chatting about how nice the water felt.
And then Alice swam over to see if everything was okay. Sure, Linsey seemed confident, but Ella was her opposite on this one (and many others, actually). "I... I don't know how to swim." Ella sent a nervous look toward her friend, before looking at her sister once more. The tall blonde said that when she was ready, she should try going under the water! Oh boy, she didn't think she'd ever be ready for that. "I... I dunnoooo..." she said, her soft voice trailing off.
Meanwhile, when Seb had been told to give Alice a moment, he'd done as requested.... well, until he noticed the dilemma! He swam over to Serghei, who was standing idly in the water. "Hey, you're a big brother, right? You should probably be helping make sure your sister can swim." He nodded, seeming confident. Serghei offered a bemused smile, before admitting the issue. "Da, but I also do not know how to swim." Seb looked surprised at that bit of news. Ella not knowing how to swim was one thing, but Serghei was a grown up adult! "I see. That is a problem... wait! I can teach you to swim super duper fast, then boom! You can go swim and teach her how." What a perfect plan!
Serghei glanced down at the scruffy lad, remembering his.... particular athletic skill. "Da, desigur, but I would need a skilled teacher. And ah... I don't see one." He grinned, which caused Seb to laugh. "That is me! I'm trained in pool and sea swim safety, CPR for adults, infants, and pets, and also pretty well practiced too. So I'm probably the best teacher!" Seb looked rather proud, which caused Serghei to laugh. "Very well. Perhaps we can all learn together."
