Miranda grew up in New Orleans, living in the French Quarter of the city. Her father died when her mother was pregnant with her, and her mother died in childbirth. She was raised by her godfather, LeRoy Coreil. He and his wife raised caucasian Miranda in love and care. She embraced the magical nature of her power, and with the help of her Louisiana Voodoo "mother" she was able to control her ability by the time she was 12. She has always looked to other cultures to see what magical people they have had. She understands a variety of spells and can use them in any language she so chooses. When she was mastering Celtic and Scottish magic, she met Ainsley and the two quickly fell in love. She didn't care that Ainsley had a prosthetic left leg, was deaf in one ear, and controlled fire. The two were regarded as soul-mates, ones destined to be together in every life throughout time. Miranda doesn't know whether that is true or not, but she loves Ainsley with all her heart. She became a teacher to assist others in honing their abilities. Saint Sandorez accepted her, and she was glad they took Ainsley on as a grounds-keeper so he's always on campus even when she's at classes.
