Greetings Fellow Guild Members,
This a Guild Topic that was done a long time ago. I want to give it a try again. Going to Anime / Cosplay conventions is one of the Main Reasons that this Guild is here. As most people know we have not gone to a Convention in person in a long time. Also their is a growing number of people who have never been to a convention before. In the past their were some and we helped them out the best that we can. Any question that you have about a convention is welcome. Even questions about Comic Con's. I have gone to conventions in general since 1988. I started out with Science Fiction / Horror cons (Especially Star Trek) and changed over to Anime / Cosplay conventions in 2009.
This thread is Not about Virtual conventions. In my opinion it takes away too much of the magic and thrill about going to one in person. Their is another thread about Virtual conventions in the Main Forum.
Here are some general topics that can be asked about:
1. Conventions (Basically, what is a convention about) 2. Cosplay / Crossplay (Basics on what it's all about) 3. Cosplay Outfit Creation (We have a lot of info on that) 4. Tips and advice on what's needed to go to a convention. 5. Convention / Cosplay Etiquette (Basic Rules) 6. What's at a convention 7. Buying items (Swag) at a Dealers Room / Artists Alley 8. Anything else that you can think of. Trust me their is so much more!!
Feel free to share stories about your Convention Experiences. Whether it's your first time or your 10th time.

1. Conventions (Basically, what is a convention about) A convention is an opportunity for fans to be able to gather in a safe-space where they can be them. I provides opportunities to meet new friends, attend panels to educate themselves, learning what is new in the community, and buying goodies.
2. Cosplay / Crossplay (Basics on what it's all about) Cosplay is dressing in costume and is deprived from the words Costume and Play.
Crossplay is the act of cosplaying a character of a different gender.
3. Cosplay Outfit Creation (We have a lot of info on that) 1. What do you want to do? 2. How is it going to be created (handmade, altering items, buy) 3. What are the steps to make it? 4. Do it. 5. Wear and have fun.
4. Tips and advice on what's needed to go to a convention. Bring water and snacks, wear conformable shoes (if you can), read and follow the rules, respect space.
5. Convention / Cosplay Etiquette (Basic Rules) 1. Respect personal space. 2. Respect the word No. 3. Respect the rules 4. Follow the 6-2-1 rule
6. What's at a convention Culture, panels, venders Hall/Artist Alley, gaming hall, cosplay, photoshoots, fun
7. Buying items (Swag) at a Dealers Room / Artists Alley Always support your Artist Alley peeks. They have cool and custom goods. Vender's hall is great for figures and and official goodies.
8. Anything else that you can think of. Trust me their is so much more!! There's always more, but going and experiencing is what will help a person develop there 'much more".
