Einarr had agreed to give Sága a rematch, so that she could try to regain her wounded pride. That said, feeling more himself, cocky and smug - knightly, if you would, he boasted to his mate Silke and any other that would hear him that he'd already beat her once. What could possibly change in the span of a day, which would occur for her to suddenly beat him in a sparring match? She had no training for battle, he said. She was a hunter, not a fighter. He said. Why, she hadn't even been there to chase off the berserker in the camp - when other hunters, like his lovely lady fair, Silke, had risen to the challenge.

With one win under his belt and an inflated ego to match it, Einarr was confident that he would win this match like he had won the last and would continue to win the others, until he became the reigning champion of the pack. He would be the first of that rank, be acknowledged by both the King and Queen as more than just a knight, but a true protector and fighter!

So, after a day of rest after their first sparring match, Einarr found Sága next day and they moved out into the sparring arena, just as they had the day prior. He grinned outright at her and she bristled in response. Ha! She was a spirited one, that was for sure!

The match began, he got in blows, she got in blows, but if anything, they seemed well matched! How could the duel not be over by this point? He'd won so easily last time!

If there was one thing Sága knew, it was that rest could provide the answers to many problems. After her first duel with Einarr, she had gone to get something to eat and then she'd returned to her den to rest up and sleep. She would need a calm, alert mind the next day for their rematch. The rematch she'd determined. She would be ready to take him down, to win this time and to prove to any onlookers that she was worth something too. She would become the Champion. Einarr already had so much, he was just a tool in her goals. He had a mate and was the son of the Queen. He had titles, ones that sounded a great deal more noble than peasant. That's all Sága was, a peasant. The lowest rank a wolf could possess.

She should have been Queen. Would have been Queen, if Maske hadn't gotten her face ripped off. She fell asleep shortly after rolling her eyes at the thought. If she couldn't be Queen, she would be Champion. She would make the pack look at her in awe. The peasant that became the Champion. The hunter, who became one of the best fighters in the pack. She didn't have to be a noble-named knight to be a great member of the pack.

The next morning, she woke. She ate, she stretched and she met Einarr. They moved to the dueling grounds and they fought. She felt better - more confident. She felt like she could actually win this! She would win this! She'd see this through to an end. And if she didn't win... well, she'd continue to challenge him. She'd train herself to be even better until she could win against him again and again and then get what she wanted. Or, what she's settle with, anyway.

She'd settle for Champion, until something better came along. She'd make everyone see. All the lords and ladies. She'd make everyone see how worthwhile she was. If it was the last thing she did.

Despite the fact that they were apparently evenly matched, there had to be a winner to this duel. And Einarr wasn't just going to let Sága win this one. If she won now, it would make their first duel look like it had been mere luck that he'd won the first time! But if he won twice in a row, it would surely be a statement to his skill as a fighter, right? Sure, Sága might be an untrained hunter instead of a fighter, but a win was a win!

He would only need three more duels after this one to become the Champion of the pack. Three was a much easier number to swallow than four, it sounded more accomplishable. Though Einarr would battle someone a hundred times, no, he'd take on the whole pack at once and win, if it meant that he would get the recognition that he craved from the others.

His cousin may have bested the berserker, but he was going to become the one that went down in pack history! He would be known as the son of the Queen, known as the first Monster Hunter, the first Champion, the first Adventurer... everything! Why, he was even known as the notorious Catfish Catcher, thanks to his progress in the latest fishing season. He raised his head a little higher at the very thought and then lunged forward towards Sága. He grabbed the red scarf she always wore around her neck and tugged back on it. He heard her yelp and try to squirm away, shifting her weight in the opposite direction and pulling. He let go and watched her stumble back and used that moment to shove himself forward, nipping at her until she was on the ground. She lashed out a paw, as if to strike the final blow, but it was obvious who had won.

Einarr grinned over Sága triumphantly.
"Are you going to demand another rematch, Sága? I'll beat you in these duels as many times as you'd like." He offered.

Sága was so sick of seeing his smug face grinning down at her. She didn't know how Silke could stand it, being his mate. All of that ego and attitude... She knew she'd lost, but she still felt herself tempted to try and smack him. She lashed her paw out and missed, growling in frustration. Wiggling out of his grasp, she got to her paws and shook herself off.

"Sure, you've won twice in a row, but I'll win the next duel against you." She told him firmly. "You haven't earned the right to be this smug, not until you've properly got that fur on and the King has told you you're the Champion. Until then, anything can happen. Don't forget that. I'll come challenge you again. Not today, nor tomorrow, but again. Be ready for it, Einarr." She told him and turned, leaving at last. She needed to go lick her wounded pride and find a raccoon from the Lost Rook to tidy up her neck scarf. Einarr was such a jerk.
