Ponygon aka Schneider goes into town looking for the owner of his book. When he runs into a horse looking human who was a thief disguised as a businessman, he thought his days of looking for a partner was over. Then the thief, at the end, told Ponygon that he only noticed a fly stuck between the pages and that he couldn't read it. so, on the hunt goes for Schneider's human partner.

Braggo and Shari are vacationing in the mountains when they meet an old man and his grandson who are in trouble. First, Braggo tranquilizes a grizzly bear, then later when some construction workers want to tear down the old man's house, Braggo learns a new spell and saves the old man again and sends the construction workers packing.

Kyo finds a mamodo stone tablet while shopping that looked similar to the one in England that his dad has. Zatch and Tia train for a while on their own with Ponygon. But then, a mysterious thief steals the tablets and brings them to a strange cave where a bunch of the tablets have been lined up.

After meeting a magician named Dr. Riddle, Kyo finds out that the secret to the spell book is the depth of how much Zatch believes in himself therefore the spells appear once Zatch unlocks a new level of power. This 6th spell, recently unlocked causes Zatch to glow, but beyond that, the spell is a mystery.

The 6th spell turns out to be an enhancement of what Zatch can do without electricity. It heightens his speed, strength, and endurance. When Kyo and Zatch win the battle, Dr. Riddle tells all he knows about the spell book and that there is an evil one gathering forces.

Suzie delivers an invitation to Zatch and Kyo from Milordo Z without realizing what she is doing. Then at the party, Zatch swears that Milordo Z will never be king because he acts too cruel to be a king. Milordo Z takes the hearts of others and manipulates them.

A mamodo named Penny was in love with Zatch in the mamodo world, but because Zatch doesn't remember that from his past, he gets Penny heartbroken. Penny attacks Zatch and the battle is on.

After running for her life, Penny is hired by Milordo Z to get even with Zatch. She now has mamodo of her own that she can control in order to defeat Zatch.

Zatch and Kyo spend the whole day playing games when every friend they know save for Konchome, Folgore, Tia, and Megumi, join in. Then when the friends go home, Penny shows up, destroys a freshly made sand castle, and threatens to destroy Zatch's book with mamodo from 1000 years ago.

Penny attacks with 3 mamodo at once and explains that it was Milordo Z behind it all manipulating the hearts of others, which to Kyo and Zatch is the most unforgivable thing ever. But, because they are low on energy, Kyo and Zatch must rely on the power of their friends in order to win this fight. Tia and Megumi arrive just in time and they deflect one spell just as they join in.

With Tia and Megumi's strength, Zatch and Kyo were able to defeat the mamodo that Penny used to attack them with save for one, but that one was in no condition to fight anymore. Like the coward she is, she ran away back to Milordo Z. Now Sheri and Braggo are targeted, but this time by 4 mind controlled mamodo.

Braggo defeats three of the 4 mamodo attacking him while the 4th gets away. We find out that Milordo Z also goes by the name Zelfis. Meanwhile, Kyo is trying to find out where Milordo Z is hiding by researching the carving on a small stone.

Kyo finally finds out where Milordo Z is hiding just as Dr. Riddle sends him a letter via Ponygon. Ponygon finds the owner of his book at long last. Megumi asks her manager for some time off because she needs to help Kyo on his mission to destroy Milordo Z. Megumi tells the audience her news and then does her performance.

Zatch, Kyo, Folgore, Kanchome, Tia, and Megumi all arrive at Milordo Z's hideout where almost immediately, they spot a dragon mamodo and a clown mamodo working out. Kanchome and Folgore distract the mamodo in a bit of a chase, but were unaware that there was a third mamodo in hiding.

Zatch feels sorry for the mamodo being controlled by Milordo Z and Kanchome feels that his opponent is sad not angry. The battle continues to wage on though.
