The day had been extra warm, heat rolling in along the sand dunes in the distance. Most of the pack, if they had any sense about them, were holed up in their dens, or hanging around in the Ruins together. A few of the braver (or more stubborn) souls were patrolling, avoiding the areas that burned their paws. Even still, with as hot as the desert land could become, there were wolves sprawled out, soaking up that merciless sun.

And then there was the alpha of the Sand Raider's. He was neither sprawled out in the sun nor holed up in a den. He'd been hard at work since the early hours of the day, before the heat had gotten unbearable. Raccoons had been spotted by pack members, scrambling around and doing mysterious things. Night Fell himself had not been bothering his Raider's much that day. Which would have instantly sparked suspicion. Usually, the alpha would have poked fun at his pack a few times already, steadily ensuring they were well and good.

Then there was the absence of bickering between wolf and raccoon brother.

As the day dragged on, with the very beginnings of the twilight hours slowly beginning to paint the skies in gemstone colors, the first signs that something was up would be noticed. Crows flying more frequently in the skies. Visitors being reported by patrols. Familiar faces starting to show up at the Ruins of the Desert.

Finally, Night Fell sent out an all-call howl for his Raider's to gather. Once they were in the vicinity, he gave them all a big, toothy, cheesy grin.

"Alright, mates. Now I'm sure yah been watchin' me run 'round like sun dried sidewinder. So let me share what I did this time." His tail wagged as he let his blue gaze fall on their visitors. "It's party time, gang! Time t'celebrate our new home. And what better way'n ta invite our best mates out for some fun!"

The alpha beamed, quite proud of his sneaky ways. Although he knew a few wolves that would chew his tail later for keeping this information from them...

"Welcome t'all our allies and friends. We thank yah for comin' to share this success with us. Let the festivities begin!"

Party Time!

Night Fell has been hard at work! He's been making sure everyone is settled in to their new homes. The alpha has worked with pack members to ensure den choices are to their liking, designated areas have been set for patrols and guards, and encouraged minor explorations of the area. Now, with everyone seemingly settled, he's got a special gathering prepared to celebrate the acquirement of their desert paradise! He's even invited some of our favorite allies to come and join in the celebrations! (Okay, lets be honest, it was just another excuse to party).

All pack members from the Crows and Iron Hides are welcome!
(Note: Alpha's are free to assume that Night Fell sent word in advance to come join their festivities)

A Few Party Facts:
  • The party itself will be taking place at the Ruins.
  • Gifts are always appreciated, but not required!
  • With food being much more scarce in the desert, there will not be a huge feast, but small game for snacking, with a few larger selections. (think a party with appetizers)
  • The main party will last through the night, but visitors are welcome to stay up to a week ICly (any longer and Night Fell might get in trouble with the other alpha's~)
  • OOCly, this ORP is casual and will stay open until things dwindle down and I (Kyrie) will make a post noting to wrap things up.
  • Both wolves and wildlife are welcome!
  • Have fun, Raider friends~!

open for interaction! (bothering Night Fell)

Blood Falcon, like many Raiders, knew something was up when Night Fell wasn't doing his usual escapades with the pack. Her first thought went to what they had talked about previously--his inner doubts and insecurities, perhaps redoubled now with his own children grown--but when she saw raccoons more active than usual, she had to hide her smile so that Night Fell's surprise wouldn't get ruined. Oh, she was a canny wolf and had an idea of what was about to happen...

A gathering meant she could see most or all of her family again, though...Her heart felt like it compressed when she remembered that they were still missing one. Blackwater Raptor was still missing out in the Veil, whatever and wherever that was. A number of Crows seemed to be after their little expedition. When Blood Falcon had found out, she had gone...well. "Slightly mad" wasn't courteous to her, thank you, but the she-wolf knew she had acted out of sorts about it. And who could blame her? Blackwater was the baby of that first litter, and to think he was out in the unknown, possibly by himself...

But she couldn't keep her spirits shackled to such dreary thoughts right now. She had children new and old coming together, and for a week (for surely they would listen to her about staying as long as possible) they would be under her watchful eye. A week was a drop in the river of time, but it would ease her heart at least a little to know she had done something to make sure the others were okay. And she'd have to check on Song of the Nightingale especially...

"Alright, my dears," she said to Red Hawk and Babbling Lark. "Time to clean up for the party~"

At said party, she hovered around the entrance after they arrived, ready to greet others alongside Night Fell. She made sure her children had at least a little accessory to make themselves lovely for the company to come. Blood Hawk for her part was wearing a desert flower behind an ear. Once the announcements finished, she went to him and nuzzled him affectionately - perhaps as an excuse to inspect his appearance and lick back down a few rogue hairs.

"Outdoing yourself as always," she crooned. "What a lovely surprise~ But next time, ask for some help, dear. Besides the raccoons."

What Is Generally Known About Blood Falcon (for ur rp flavor purposes)
  • Despite her ominous name, she's an incredibly loving mom to whoever she meets. Whoever.
  • It's loudly known by now that Night Fell is also her son. What do you mean they don't look alike? Honestly, you're blind, the resemblance is uncanny.
  • Mated pair with Ripples in the Azure Sea (Crow assassin); 99% chance you have heard her gush about their kids multiple times
  • Has a weird adoration of dangerous things, such as venomous snakes and scorpions; p knowledgeable about them too
  • Sister is Mudsullied Jackal, the Crows' current Head Healer; they act nothing alike, look nothing alike, and have an odd relationship. BF still loves her tho
  • Recently learned one of her sons went rogue to help those in the Veil and hasn't come back. Do not bring this up.

open for interaction!

Red Hawk had been sunbathing, then dust bathing, and then considering a longer nap (aka sleep) when this all decided to start up. Not that she had a problem with parties at all: on the contrary, this would be her first time seeing many of them as Mom hadn't let her or her brother really wander out of the desert as pups, except to go with her to visit family. But anyway, it was another break in the workday, and Red Hawk was all about that lifestyle. Kudos to Night Fell! She bobbed her head thankfully when they arrived, her viper fang earring for the evening's accessory bobbing with her, and gave a whooping cry after the alpha's short speech before diving into the assorted crowd.

She had to talk to them all!

Of course trying to do that made her thirsty after a while, so the young she-wolf angled for the food offerings of the evening. Some wolves looked a little dubiously at a cactus snipping, which she took gladly. It had been de-spined...ah wait, OW. Someone had missed one in the far back, and her paw pad sank into it as she tried to manipulate the fruit piece into a more manageable position. "Owwieeeee," she whined as she squinted at it. "Aw, c'monnnnn, what'd I do to deserve this?"

What Is Generally Known About Red Hawk (for ur rp flavor purposes)
  • Her mom, Blood Falcon, had helicopter mom'd the s**t out of her and her brother. This nurtured a slightly rebellious streak in Red.
  • Practically a born thief with a charming smile, though her heart seems too soft for actually raiding. She's more likely to take something just to annoy you and then give it right back with a grin.
  • Greatly interested in learning about what's beyond the desert.
