:[VDay 2020]: The Garden Maze

Welcome to Paradise!

The ground is green and lush. Fragrant flowers dot the yard while happy little bluebirds tweet a happy little song. Surrounding the beautifully manicured space are hedges. Some short, some tall. Some even have been delicately sculpted into various figures and objects. Cherubs gleefully buzz around putting hearts into the air and while humming a catchy little melody.

"This way! This way!" A cheery little cherub popped out of thin air. Could they always do that? It bobbed towards an opening in the bushes, creating a path that headed East.

"No! This way! This way! Follow me!" Another cherub, who was a little more assertive motioned towards a newly opened path that appeared to head North. "Don't listen to him! I know what he did last Venus Day!"

A shadow fell over the path to the East, and the little cherub's face fell. With the voice of a beast, he growled, "I will have my revenge. BWAHAHA *coughcough*" His little diapered-butt fluttered backward down the shady path.

The hedge closed around him, swallowing him and closed off the path. Only the sunny and fresh path was left clear.

C. Yell some profanities after the Cherubs








Night Terror landed with a surprisingly soft cush into what looked like a pink garden paradise. Immediately his hands went to his stomach as he tried not to vomit. Even if he was like Swarm Mother and feasted on love, he wasn't at her level and this about made him sick. All he could do was stand there, glancing around in shock to try and see if Purpuryt was here as well. When he didn't see her, he kicked at the grass, uttering a disappointed curse.

Unexpectedly, his foot shot higher into the air than he had imagined. Blades of grass wafted up into the air in slow motion as all gravity in and around the young faun teen seemed to vanish. His body slowly began to float up wards, his legs going splayed, his arms out stretched. Panicking, he flapped his wings to no avail, only seeming to float him higher into the air and now facing downward. His body was weightless, as if he were suspended in water.

"What....." he gasped under his breath, shouting of cherubs catching his ears. They flickered towards the pink puffy things and he did his best to try and 'swim' through the air to see better but each time he managed to upright himself he flipped back over, face towards the ground. "So stupid." he hissed, hands reaching out to try claw into the dirt but that only sent him just enough over the ground that he couldn't reach.

Now with his back arched like a cat, his mane and tail pointing straight into the sky, NT struggled to try and grasp the ground before eventually giving up. Crossing his arms, he grumbled to himself. "This is demeaning."

Casting his glance towards what little of the closing hedge he could see, he shouted off after the other cherub. "I bet this is all your fault you fat pink useless waste of space not even my mother could devour! I had a pretty girl! And we were having a nice time! And then... THIS!" he spewed in it's direction, his body now seeming to just move on its own as it floated over towards the closed off path way, smacking into the maze wall like a balloon trapped in a box. "Get me down you twiddly little twerp or I'll make you wish you weren't born you lousy excuse of a cotton candied turd!" he continued to scream, each time he opened his mouth, more and more profanities seemed to spill forth.

B. Move Forward (Hortense x Jekyll)

Hortense was having fun playing cards with Jekyll and Enfys, more so on letting Jekyll win by having knowledge of her cards ahead of time. To be honest, it did not bug her one bit. She wanted to be included, that's all and to see her boyfriend be more social with other people. The Shetani flipped her hair back and just kept on smiling. Thought that was quickly wiped off her face when they were immediately dumped into a dark place that was definitely not the Las Venus compound anymore. It was outside, that she can recall and the walls looked like they were moving. The red-head leaned closed and took a sniff... they smelled sweet.

Then she remembered. "Jekyll? Jekyll?!" she cried, looking around, frowning. "Oh, Jekyll! Where are we?!" the female asked, frowning intensely. "I don't like this one bit. Did we eat or drink something weird?!" she sniffled, moving into the opposite male's arms out of comfort. This was scary, and definitely getting lost scary for her.

[Hjortur x Kelebek | B : Move Forward]

Hjortur has just ******** up in perhaps the worst manner.

Yes, he was stressed. His kids were missing, heck all of Venus' usual entourage were missing, and seeing Eris not even putting effort into her 'ruse' had pushed him over the edge. He knew it was her from the beginning - of course he did. He'd been to these things enough to have seen his fair share of her. He also knew what she was capable of. He - if nobody else - should have known better than to escalate the situation on an emotional whim.

So why didn't he back off?

Sure, he could claim he was simply chosen to be the scapegoat and that all of this was planned to happen from the beginning - but that didn't matter. He had purposefully ignored reason and put the lives of his loved ones, their loved ones, and numerous strangers in danger. Oh Alu... Why was he like this?

Compared to the rest of the pae in the room, he fell at a delay. Everything seemed to go in slow-motion. "Kel?!" His voice was even higher-pitched than normal as he looked around, his energy seeming to leave his body for a moment as he found the familiar pattern of white and pink. He fell forward as his legs failed to gain the strength, then pulled himself forward with his arms before trying (and succeeding) to reach her this time.

"Kel?! Are you okay?" He hesitated to reach out and touch her, guilty that this was his fault. Instead he simply looked over at the environment around him. "Where.... are we...?"

Zhixuan - C. Shout profanities

The new location, if anything, intensified Zhixuan's rage, already screaming hot because of the snake that had attacked her fresh slice of man. Who, come to think of it, Zhixuan isn't sure why she had found so attractive. He certainly wasn't her usual type. She didn't linger on the thought for long, though, because now she was looking for a fight. She hadn't gotten to finish the one she'd already started, and the urge to slice and tear was strong, despite the peaceful garden location.

The fat little fairies got her attention, yellow eyes narrowing into slits. She stalked toward them, then right as she was about to dive for them, they got into a fight with each other, and disappeared. Zhixuan shrieked and screamed something after them that implied their mothers had done something very unlikely with rats.

Kelebek fell screaming into the maze, and made a dull "oomph" as she whumped into the ground. At this point she really shouldn't have been surprised--something always went sideways at these things--but somehow she was still caught off-guard. She pulled herself up on her awkward land legs, leaning her hands on her knees to catch her breath. She searched wildly for Hjortur, and panicked when she couldn't find him. "Hjortur?!" she called frantically. She felt vulnerable and alone, despite there being other partygoers around. When he whumped down a moment later a short distance away, she ran to him, tripping over her own legs but making it eventually. "I'm here," she said, falling into his arms.

"Oh Hjortur, what do we do?"

B - Jekyll moves forward

The fae was so close, SO close to touching her just as they hit the ground, bounced, and immediately was okay. It took a moment to get his bearings though as he quickly stood up, the poor male looking every which way for his partner. Who was sniffing the wall.

"Hortense!" He was so relieved! In an instant she was in his arms, he didn't know if it was her who ran to him, vice versa or a combination. While normally he would be near faint, he was far too worried to overthink things. "It'll be alright Teeny. Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to you." The mere thought made the pit of his stomach turn.

That would make him angry. No. No he couldn't afford to get angry at this point. She needed him to be clear headed and present. Jekyll looked up to stare at the offending pink cherub. "Oh! Hey wait! We're are...we." But it was already gone. He frowned lightly, still holding onto the shetani. "Let's get out of here Teeny. We'll...we'll find the exit." He tried to sound confident, but obviously magic was afoot here. His wings hadn't worked when they were falling. They were purposely put here, and no doubt it would be hard to leave earlier than their new host wanted.

B - tilikum moves forward

One moment the orca marked male was making small talk, the next he was covered in mist and then falling into blackness!

When he got his bearings finally, he was...not where he'd ever think he'd be. Why was he in a maze? And...what. Was attached. To him.

There was some sort of cart device stuck under his tail. Four large wheels. He tried to lift out of it with his hands, but he seemed almost glued to it! Frowning, he started forward. He ha to get out of this maze.

Quadira and Aiden - A. Smell the roses

Quadira was freaked out when the floor dropped, but the weightlessness of the new reality she was in was a little more palatable. The flowers and warm surroundings made her giggle.

Quickly finding Aiden, she grasped his tail with hers
"Darling, look! Those little floaty fellows from last year are here! A little bit rude, but it's nice 0to finally see them." she announced. "That must mean this is part of the party. Oh goody. I knew those cheap imitations of decorations were just a farce!"

Noticing those around her were starting to swear at the lil mean floaty guys, she sighed and tsked. It was such a shame when someone wasn't brought up with enough manners.

Looking around, she mostly saw flowers and sculptures. Smiling , she turned back toward her darling mate and pointed to the east. "Oh look. I've never seen these versions of flowers!! They must be land flowers!! I've never seen Land flowers before, sweetheart." She turned back towards her mate and asked "shall we investigate?"

Niraj is moving forward!


Niraj was definitely sorry he had come now. He had heard weird things happened at Venus Day parties but this....these cherubs were down right creepy. He didn't know what the hell he was going to do but it wasn't gonna be standing here to smell the roses.

He started to move forward, hoping he would come across a pool of water soon.

Now this was more like it. Lush green grass, breezes fragrant with the fresh smells of plants and flowers. The hedges were sculpted perfectly, almost like a Tree Tender had coaxed them into the different shapes. Her only lament was not getting to eat more of the pizza before they'd all been dropped here.

Ok, well, the cherubs were kinda weird. Little guys (even littler than her and Rime) seemed to get up to some pretty sordid stuff judging by that little exchange. Whatever. Didn't matter.

"Hey Rime, let's go smell the flowers. There are some pretty roses over here," she almost chirped, flinging an arm around her companion's shoulders and steering her toward the nearest bush covered in giant red blooms. Choosing one on her level, Smolder practically put her whole face in the flower and breathed deep.

Enfys chooses A

Falling through the shadows almost came as a relief to Enfys. He had needed an out for that awkward encounter he had joined, but the creep factor of falling through shadows was enough, that he wasn't completely relieved. Wait... this garden wasn't so bad. The male tossed his hand of cards over his shoulder, discarding them. Maybe this was where the real party was happening. Although they could have made their transition to this party less scary. He looked around at his fellow guests, noticing that the group seemed much smaller than the party had been before they fell. Where did everyone else go?

His thoughts were interrupted by the cherubs beckoning them to follow. He shook his head at them, silly little cherubs. "Ack!" Enfys exclaimed in disgust as he noticed the two lovebirds heading down the only path left to go. Well, he certainly wasn't going to follow them. So he waited, enjoying the beautiful little garden he had landed in.

[Eudora and Lucius - B. Move forward]


Eudora let out a shocked squeak/squeal as she hit the ground suddenly, the inky blackness giving way to...was this a garden? It was...a surprisingly lovely garden. Not what she would have expected considering the events previous.

Concerned, she looked around for her travel companion. "Lucius? Lucius!
Are you here? Are you alright?" She took notice of some of the other Pae collecting themselves and their reactions to their new surroundings. Oh, wasn't that the Naiad over there that the strange lady on the throne...?

The noise of the bickering cherubs drew her attention away for a moment, but it caused more confusion and created more questions than the exchange answered. What in the world were those things? And clearly, they had a history, but what was it? What could this creature have done the year previous? Was it something horrible?

Shaking her head, the Fae tried to corral her thoughts long enough to focus on finding her fellow tradesman. "Lucius, err, lovely as this place may be, I don't think I like it. Should we try to get moving with the others?"
