Hemlock was ready to turn right around and back toward the fork in the path but the rest of the group opted to stop for a snack. With a sigh he stood at alert for a while. Then he heard the name. He tilted his head and tried to find the idiot who spoke their name. But it didn't matter then. Silence fell upon the group and something strange happened. A shadow broke free of its surroundings and approached. It was shaped like an earth pony but that was where the similarity ended. Hemlock's eyes widened with horror as the creature spoke and shrieked, disappearing into the ground. Mistake? He had made no mistake. "Wait, no I didn't." But then the screams and stampede began. He did his best to not be trampled, but to say he would come out of this unscathed would be a lie. But bumps and bruises were the last thing on his mind right now.

The trek had been long and it was more then a little concerning to just hit the end like that. There was water around the path and it seemed no one wanted to ask it to enter. Considering the kitsune an inconsiderate jerk it was clear there was no way to proceed as soon as the group was split like this. The mild thought of poisoning the kitsune later crossed the hybrid’s mind. But well Nox was here and likely would tell her no. How annoying. Then some fool decided to break rule 3 and offer out their names. Then came the shadows it was a pony who was not there before so rule 1 or could it be a mistake and rule 2? “No.” She spoke to the water and turned and started going down the path again to head back and go down the other path. She would not panic though a part of her wanted to. If it came after her she was going to slip into shadow and either poison or burn the shadow pony after them. The screams were giving her a heck of a headache.

Stardust was enthusiastic hen the other introduced themselves, but that was soon replaced by a sort of passive horror. An earth pony appeared, dripping with a horrifying type of ooze, and offered a sort of ultimatum. Stardust made an attempt to get away, quite unsure as to how that would work out.

There was a moment the hulking hybrid paused, was...was one of their group. Snagged?!? Oh...Oh Hades no. Nox looked around easily taking more to the trees to avoid most of the Chaos. He looked to the ooze earth pony. "By any chance...will we be getting our missing group members back?"

He landed, still on the path but otherwise just observing the Chaos. "We would greatly admire the Owner of this marsh if we did."

Scuro made his way through everything and listened to the Kitsune as he talked. The swamp was intriguing to him and he enjoyed it. When the thought of what to do next came up... He thought about the decision for a while before speaking. "I believe I will take the rocks... It seems better to not trust the swamp water where you could get stuck..."

B - THE ROCKS OF DOOM?!

Storm didnt care how big the group was. She was still scared then when she seen what was ahead of them she yelled "hellnaw!" Then she took off running.

Nebit glanced at the water then back to the rocks that she might have to climb. She wasn't really equipped for either but being a unicorn she did have magic and that could help her cross the water. "How does one ask for safe passage through water?" She inquired to the kitsune.

~Papa Midnight watches he is not scared not really he watches the others around him, *pfft why should I run.* ~ He watches the others and hides a smirk at the chaos. then slowly walks off following the others~

Oh...Oh no.

Nevermind's instinct was to run anyway - the moment she realized what had happened, she turned and ran. Part of her felt guilty for doing so--perhaps someone more stalwart and noble would have tried to fight the creature off--but the kitsune had said to regroup and to not engage or even address. She clung to those rules in her flight back, eyes full of sorrow.

A. Traveling through the water

(asking for safe passage)

Sharkbait rolled his eyes, water or rocks were the options? ... pfft ... Obviously... He was about to step in when he remembered the rules given... ""Uh.. hey swamp? .. could i please cross into the water here?" he asked, feeling stupid but he would rather play by the rules, than risk possible swamp issues, these weren't the waters he knew, it never hurt to be careful.

Dubhghall hung towards the back of the group heading down the left path, not really talking to anyone. As the group traveled close to 30 minutes he was beginning to think that he had made a mistake with this path. Sure enough there was a dead end. He sighed to himself and took a drink of water that he had brought with him. It was then he heard someone introduce themself. He groaned thinking about how quickly ponies forgot about the rules they were given. There was some nervous laughter from the group and he narrowed his eyes. Did they think the Kitsune was just pulling their leg?!

It was then the creepy drippy pony appeared. His eyes widened in surprise but he wasn't exactly scared of it. More intrigued then anything. But before he knew it the pony had disappeared then reappeared behind the group sending them all into a panic. He yelped a little as the whole group rushed down the path heading directly to him. He quickly began to run to try and keep ahead of them, completely forgetting about his wings that could lift him above them.

Starry Sunrise couldn't take her eyes off of what was happening. Why had someone broken the rules? What might have happened to them? Where did that... thing... go?
As everyone else seemed to scream and run around her, she found her hooves again and decided that she too needed to run. And fast.
