If there was one thing Snakeroot wasn't good at it was being a mother. A close second was taking care of pups. So many wolves wouldn't take on the role of being a nanny within a pack unless they were completely crazy, but not her. She considered it a challenge especially after her first little of pups didn't go so well and she chose it would be better to have one raised by someone else and the other she would raise to the best of her ability. She did try her hardest. She tried her damn hardest at raising Deerwort and Newt to be good pups. She didn't want to be the kind of mother that just tossed them aside, but she couldn't handle two. She knew it was a small litter, but for someone like her she couldn't handle two. In the end she made her choice and Newt was being raised by her while her other daughter was going to be raised by someone else. It would have broke her if she felt anything for the situation. She rationalized it down to the best possible circumstances and she wasn't going to budge no matter what anyone else told her.
But today she really had her hands full. She hadn't realized there were so many pups within the pack now and she felt a little overwhelmed at the thought of watching so many. She knew there was more then just her in the nanny role, but she really took her role seriously. She believed it was because she was so terrible at raising her own pups that she was really critical of herself and her actions.
So like any other day, she was going to give it her all. The only problem was as she looked around at all the pups she felt bitter and cold. Not at them. At herself. She was hoping to fix herself. To fix her flaw.
"Don't wander off too far. I need to be able to see you." She said in a stern cold tone. (( ANY AND ALL PUPS CAN JOIN..that are in the Swamp Lurker pack at least. <3 She is a nanny so she will have many to look after. ))

Two pups gave two very different reactions to Snakeroot's words of cautions. One pup, a female, was distinctly different from all the other pups currently in Snakeroot's charge. She was abnormally large, with a far more muscular build than pups of a similar age. The pack knew she was different from the rest, but did not know how. For now, her strange attributes were contributed to the spirits - after all, Tenacity and her sister Dread were found alone in the swamp lands, as if left there for the pack as a gift.
Tenacity and her sister had recently been released from their quarantine, after it being determined that the spirits had no lingering effect on the pair. With no actual parents, however, they were being communally raised by the pack. It gave Tenacity and air of independence, coupled with a strong will and a 'couldn't care less' attitude, she was a handful. She snorted dismissively at Snakeroot's advice, her broad muzzle bunched up in a sneer. "No?" she challenged, because of course she would.
The other pup was considerably more important, and came with his own sense of trouble. The first born son of the pack's Alpha and also the pack's spiritual leader, Wraith was a determined young pup. Both of his brothers were born pure white like their father, considered to be spirits just like Reflection. Wraith had a lot to prove in the coming years, but for now was too young to realize it. Instead, he was in the troublesome stage where he thought he could do pretty much anything because of his parents' statuses. "I want to go deeper in the swamp, this place is boring."
Normally, his parents did their best to raise the pups themselves, but duty called for both Reflection and She Sings of Amber Autumns. They needed to leave their pups with a nanny in order to get any work done. Unfortunately, three young boys were a handful on their own and even worse when put together with other pups.

Snakeroot could tell she was in for a handful with the two she was left to care for today. Normally it was easy, but these two were definitely making things hard for her. She didn't know what exactly to say at first since dealing with pups wasn't her specialty, but she was a nanny and had to do her duty. "No?" She honestly didn't know how to deal with a berserker pup. She had heard a little about them, but not as much that would probably prepare her for this kind of situation. "So..you want to get hurt by wandering out there alone? You might look and act fierce, but there are always bigger predators that can hurt you. Always remember that." She had learned that the hard way a few times and it was obvious she wasn't getting through to Tenacity at all.
She heard the other pipe up and looked over at him. He was the alpha's son and she felt she needed to keep more of an eye on him then the other. She was going to try her best with both, but first she needed to find something fun for them to do to keep them occupied. "Why do you want to go into the swamp? All that is out there is murky waters and bugs. Do you want to be eaten up by bugs?" She asked as she rose to her feet and looked out into the distance. She could take them a little bit into the swamp, but she didn't want to go too far. If she did they could get lost. "How about this...all three of us go on a little field trip into the swamps, but you have to stay close and we will explore. I don't need you both getting lost because it could end up in a bad end for all of us." She said to them as she slowly ventured into the swamp.
She felt like she could control the situation if she found them something to do. Though a part of her was afraid one of them would go sinking into the deep waters. Either way she would protect them at all costs.Krysin emotion_facepalm I feel like she made a grave error.

Tenacity's bright green eyes narrowed at the older female as she attempted to reason with her. Unfortunately for Snakeroot, Tenacity was being contrary merely for the sake of it. She was already so different from the other pups that there was no way she could fit in among them, and so her young mind had decided that it wasn't worth it to try. Rather, she'd do her best to point out what made her different. Acting out was normal at this stage of puphood, but it certainly did not make things easier on their nanny. "Uh, yeah? I can take care of myself. The spirits are watching over me," she explained with a proud puff of her chest. How else could one explain why she was so much bigger and tougher than all the other pups?
"The spirits can be misleading," Wraith grumbled up a rebuttal which only proved to earn him a disdainful glare from the other pup. "What? It's true! You have no way of knowing what the spirits want or what they favor." His explanation fell on deaf ears, and so he challenged Snakeroot instead. "Whatever. I'm just tired of being right here." Wraith really just did not want to be babysat. He was the eldest son, he should not have to be watched over like some regular pup.
At Snakeroot's proposition, Tenacity's ears perked up and she seemed interested. In contrast, Wraith seemed put off by the idea. "I will not get lost! But if you want to tag along with us you can," Tenacity answered with a smirk while Wraith's frown deepened.
"Don't you have other pups to babysit?" he whined.XxXPandamoniumXxX so sorry for the delay bb!
