Wolves in Kells are generally monogamous. Mated pairs usually remain together for life, or until one of the pair dies.Though this is the most common form of mating/breeding, polygamy can occur in established packs.
Lifemating occurs when a pair decides to promise themselves to one another entirely, which is typically practiced by Dire and Ethereal wolves. Rarely, a Berserker will break tradition and their culture to lifemate a Dire/Ethereal, although this does not result in a surname and is looked down upon by their breed.
Wolves listed in this lifemate thread will be allowed one extra breeding per calendar year for a total of four breedings a year. However, life mated wolves are only eligible for a fourth breeding if all three of their prior breedings for the calendar year have been with their mate. Lifemated wolves can breed out of their lifemate partnership, but they will lose their fourth breeding for the year.
Posting a lifemate requires confirmation. The second owner must quote the original post and add their consent. Breaking a lifemate does not require consent.
Lifemate Rules:
• Lifemating is not done by Berserker x Berserker pairs. It is reserved for Dire/Ethereal wolves, and the rare Berserker x Dire/Ethereal pairing. Berserker x Berserker pairs instead will go to this thread.
• Lifemating breedings have a cooldown; the pair can not breed again until the litter is fully grown and certed.
• Both wolves must be adults and certed.
• Same-sex lifematings are allowed.
• Lifemating is only for one on one pairs. Polyamorous couples do not, within Dire/Ethereal culture, lifemate.
