tab It was incredibly rare to find Dusk River outside of his humble little home. He made plenty of money streaming online to afford something bigger, but never felt the need to. He had just enough space where he was and never felt the need to leave. His friend, Ember Moon, who lived with him, however, did pine for a slightly larger home so that she could have more room for things. But unfortunately, she couldn't do it on her own. Dusk made more than she did. However, Dusk would happily pay her extra whenever she went out to do errands for him.

tab Today was one of those days. Ember had left to get some supplies for more of her own videos, as well as groceries. Dusk was locked away in his room, curtains drawn to keep the sun out, his whole station ready to go. He started a little earlier in the evening today because he wanted to get some gaming in with an online friend before streaming. The stallion clicked wildly about his screen as things loaded up in split seconds, starting up the game and queueing up. It was a horror game. One where there were five players and a villain (a more PG way of putting it). The players had to outrun the villain and live to the end, often with different objectives. Sometimes repairing things, other times just getting out undetected. It all depended. Dusk enjoyed playing the villain, but it was generally at random who in the group got it. Unfortunately, this time his friend got it, so the two of them wouldn't really be able to talk in game.

tab Dusk was stuck with some random people.

tab He cleared his throat. "Y'all ready for this?" he grinned, clicking around to set his video settings just right.

Dusk River chuckled. He recognized a name or two of the ponies he was playing with. Either other streamers looking for a short game before streaming, or just random ponies who happened to be on around the same time he usually was. One spoke up, talking about seeing who would be the MVP of the round. A snort left him. "You'd be hard pressed to beat me out for that title!" he laughed, a bit cocky. He did not get MVP all the time, but he had a higher rate of getting it than the average pony.

The game started up and Dusk went all out in it. He was furiously clicking, moving around whenever the villain was not near him. He was very strategic and stealthy about it, until one of the randoms botched a skill check and got their cover blown. Needless to say, Dusk River was taken out pretty quickly. He swore rather loudly. "Ahhh!!" he huffed, slapping his desk with a hoof, now stuck in spectator mode until the round was over.

Flipping through the other players, one caught his eye. He could no longer speak in the chat, as it would give away positions of the villain to his previous teammates, but he could watch. There was a player named Mabuz. He recognized that name. And they were really good at this game, so he decided to watch them for now.
