The Dragon Clan, since Jedi took over, interacts with humans regularly. Initially, it was a case that no one should disclose that anyone in the clan was a vampire to humans, though that rule has relaxed since Jedi and Raven's children attended Hogwarts. As a result, it is up to the individual vampire as to whether they wish to disclose their status, though revealing any of its members is strictly against the rules of the clan. It is up to the current clan head as to whether someone may disclose who is or is not in the clan itself. Humans who break the clan's trust will likely find themselves at the mercy of the Whitethorne family as well as Jedi.

Feeding from humans is strictly forbidden in the Dragon clan. Instead, substitutes such as donated blood (via blood bags) and blood pops are used. Killing humans is also disallowed unless strictly necessary.

Turning other vampires is up to the individual vampire. It is generally frowned upon, though people may be turned if they truly need it (saving someone's life, protecting the person, etc}. All fledglings must fully agree to the turning, and it is up to the person that turned them to teach them about their condition. Any vampire that does not care for their fledglings will have their fledglings turned over to the clan head and the vampire in question will face punishment. Fledglings that prove to be a threat will be turned over to the clan head for punishment.

All clan members must abide by the rulings of the clan head and the Vampire Council. They also must remain loyal to the clan unless they decide to move to a different clan. Any vampire that willingly tells others outside of the clan about it without the permission of the clan head will face punishment, and should they betray the clan or council, it shall result in punishment from the clan head or council.

Dragon Clan's origins are likely lost to time, as it began millenia before many vampires alive today. The original leader of the clan was Dragon, an Egyptian vampire, but his sire's name had been forgotten, known only to Dragon himself. Dragon went on to sire many other fledglings, causing Dragon Clan to grow in size, becoming the largest clan in the world as a result. Dragon also was an active member of the Council, the group of vampires in charge of overseeing the vampires of the world.

However, at the beginning of the 21st century, Dragon's fledglings began disappearing. Dragon himself decided to investigate, and found a group of humans calling themselves The Family hunting vampires. Dragon tracked the group to England before being struck down himself in London. Then fortune seemed to smile on Dragon as a woman managed to save his life. Anastasia Whitethorne managed to pull out the arrow he'd been struck with, only to find herself a victim of Dragon's uncontrollable thirst. Dragon then decided to track down Anastasia's family to pay back the debt he had accidentally accrued by her death.

The family Dragon managed to track down was Christopher Whitethorne, a squib from a pureblood wizard family. Dragon turned Chris the same night that he killed Chris's mother and made him his fledgling. After that, he informed Chris of the reason he had come to England and took Chris to help deal with The Family once and for all. Arriving at the hideout, Dragon, along with other vampires and other beings, stopped The Family's plot and rescued those The Family had kidnapped. However, that also led to the death of the earliest vampire, Lilith, and as a result, Dragon had to leave to rebuild The Council. He left Chris in the care of the Striker Clan, hoping that they would teach Chris what he needed to know about being a vampire. However, Striker and Arachnid, the two founding members of the Striker Clan, also left, leaving Chris with no one to teach him.

Chris initially struggled to learn how to be a vampire, and hid himself away from his human family as a result. However, he learned during that time that Dragon had murdered his mother, something his sire had never told him. Because of this, Chris ended up going into a downward spiral, only managing to pull himself out of it because of a girl he met named Adalaide Blythe and reconnecting with his family. He also began to rebuild the clan, though initially it was inadvertent. Dragon, in the meantime, found that all of his other fledglings had been murdered by The Family, leaving Dragon, Chris, and Chris's fledglings as the sole members.

Dragon eventually became the head of The Council, while Chris sired other fledglings. Chris's first was a teen named Zephyr Bearach, though that was a case of giving the dying teen too much blood initially. It then grew to include Eleazar Bradley, a teen who had been hunted by his murderous father, and Adalaide Whitethorne, formerly Blythe, after Ada was nearly stabbed to death by a crazy stalker. Chris and Ada also had two children during this time, a set of twins, though this was accidental as Chris hadn't known that male vampires could have children. Lastly, he turned Dominic McHalen, the husband of Chris's longtime friend Grace McHalen, after Grace had pestered him long and hard about turning him. Recently, though, Dragon had vanished, though Chris had no idea about what his sire was doing, leaving Chris the head of the clan.
