Brionne blinked when Sissil didn't seem very phased by her concern. Pun intended. She still looked a little uncertain, probably because really, that wasn't her actual concern. Her main concern was, in fact, that she would just be too heavy for Sissil. 'Cause, woof, that would be embarrassing, to have him try and pick her up, struggle, and/or then drop her. She looked at him almost skeptically when he continued to boast such confidence, and then knelt down, offering to carry her on his back. She looked at him a moment, perhaps pushing the timeframe of the offer, but after a pause, pushed up onto her back fin, and lifted her flippers.
It was awkward, being a tripedal pokemon. But she had been this way since, well... forever, so she was fairly accustomed to it. It still wasn't convenient, though, and as she pushed herself up to balance, she puffed her cheeks out as she placed her flippers onto Sissil's back, trying not to turn even further purple in embarrassment. She'd never... had a piggy back ride or anything, after all. Trying to not draw this out even more (and it was a real struggle, given the internal conflict going on) she slid her fins up and held on as best she could, kicking off a bit to lean forward onto his bag, and get a better grip. Hopefully she didn't throw him off balance... and hopefully he coudl figure out how to support her, if she was going to, considering she couldn't exactly sit like most would while hanging on his back.
"Um... Are you sure this is okay?" she asked, trying very hard to sound certain and strong in her voice, though it showed a bit she wasn't quite as confident as she was trying to be. Although she might not have been particularly aware of it herself, she was a somewhat... self conscious pokemon, perhaps more so because of her trainer (the jackass). That said, she was also well aware that her kind weren't exactly light and airy, given their body type, but... having someone she had just so recently met, offer to carry her, was bringing some of that self-conscious to override the practical awareness.
Meanwhile, others were not getting along nearly as well. Lady stared at bidoof, mouth oddly shut and expression strangely unreadable as he inquired how to let the pokemon into the room (along with the water). Just as her maw widened into that familiar grin, Dresden cut in, and she slid her gaze over to him for a long moment. She turned, and resumed gliding the room, doing one last check before they would leave, it seems. She only stopped a few seconds after Bidoof's comment, once she was closer to the door, and turned to see a very large sharpedo backing into the water. Hhhmm... That couldn't possibly be good. She looked at it thoughtfully, then calmly turned, and resumed towards the door. Perhaps with just... a bit more speed to her glide than usual.
She was very tempted to trip them up when the other pokemon caught on, and bolted, but that would likely result in much more mess than even she was keen on. Instead she moved to slither out the door, though peculiarly enough, she did wait for Dresden to open it, first, before immediately snaking out. "You know, if it breaks that, there may be no running from the flood," she pointed out, with some dark amusement. Why was she entertained by that? No idea-- she'd be drowning too, after all. Perhaps she just liked to see other pokemon, or Dresden in particular, squirm.

Pokemon Encounter :: 193/5 Not even a challenge :: 77/15 Item :: Heart Scale (7) - o9/1o Ooc :: Entered in from Heahea City OoB :: ( Avikna ) Arietty, Aislin & Kezia, Ookoth ( Tay ) Tethe, Freya, Elias
From a warm library to the bitter chill of the outside, Avikna found herself. Despite the darkness the garden outside was lit well enough for her to see. The eerie feeling she'd felt inside the manor was just as strong outside. With a sigh, the red-head felt it didn't much matter if she looked back or not, she wasn't going back inside. Stepping forward, she kept her gaze shifting from side to side. While she wasn't afraid of some ghost popping up to scare her, she didn't trust that that was their only intention. Dreams couldn't hurt you, or so her experience lead her to believe. They were more a mental kind of hurt... poking fun at your fears. Avikna had become well aware of her growing concern over Tay's well being... the thought of some harm coming to the girl under her care was... admittedly a scary thought.
However much the thought concerned her, finding Tay would have to wait. As Avikna took a step down from a porch-like walkway a figure appeared from behind a brush. A human, by their appearance. "Hey, another person!" The person spoke, sending Avikna a grin. Though it was met with a dead-pan gaze. "Er... you are a human right?" They asked cocking their head some. Avikna let out a sigh nodding her head. Something told her if she didn't give an answer this person would only continue to pester her. Sadly, this wasn't the case entirely. The figure who'd appeared grinned with a mischievous intent. "You look strong, want to have a battle?" He asked. As much as she was inclined to deny the person of their request, her gaze locked with his. There was no escaping this altercation. "I'm busy, so let's make it quick." Avikna replied, pulling Dova's ball from her bag. Tossing forward the ball, she released the tiny dragon as the male released his own Pokemon; A Glaceon. Normally, this wouldn't be a favorable match-up, but she hadn't much choice. Aislin could very well take the blue fox on, but for now she'd let Dova get some experience in battle. Calling for him to use Iron head, the tiny dragon complied, rushing headfirst into the Glaceon.. but to his and Aviknas and the other trainer's surprise the Glaceon seemed... unphased. As if Dova had merely popped her with his head instead of using a super effective move against it. Aislin let out a humph... was this just like her fight against that psychic-type? "Er, Glaceon use Ice Fang!" He shouted, still not sure if the Jangmo-o was just weak or poorly trained. To his shock, when his vixen bit down with ice-clad fangs... Dovakin barely even moved. Now he was sure something was awry, his Glaceon was not weak by any means.
Thought the fight seemed at a fair advantage, Avikna motioned towards Aislin. "That is good enough for now." Avikna spoke. Aislin got the jist rolling her eyes as she stepped forward. The other trainer then called for his Glaceon to attack, to which Aislin found a sharp shard of ice hurled at her. Raising her arms, the canine recoiled from the chilling touch of the ice. "You sure about this, oh great trainer of mine? I seem to be at a disadvantage." Aislin grumbled. "You'll be fine." Avikna retorted. Aislin let out another humph but pressed on. "I'll just fight fire with fire than." The canine retorted. She didn't wait for Avikna's inquiry and quickly sped forward and with a fist clad in ice, she struck the icy blue fox finding her method was a grade a idea. "Ha!" The canine scoffed, feeling rather proud of herself.
"This sure is a weird place, huh?" The other trainer spoke furrowing their brow. Ice not weak to Steel, Dragon not weak to Ice.. and now Ice is weak to it's own kind? It's almost as if... everything was swapped? If that were the case, then he'd stick with Ice-type moves against a steel-type like the Lucario before him. And thus the back and forth started. It was short lived however, as Aislin was much stronger. Though, when it came to the other trainer's second Pokemon, things weren't going so hot. Both Pokemon were at their limits, and it was decisively down to one last move. Aislin huffed heavily but held herself tall as was her norm.
It was then, by no summons necessary that a shadow blocked out the already dim moonlight casting an even darker shadow over the garden. Everyone found their gaze going upward to see a giant serpentine creature descending from the sky above. Avikna narrowed her gaze, finding herself... confused. What in the world was Ookoth doing here? Why was he here? The dragon spoke nothing of his reasons, simply coiling behind Avikna with his body precariously ready to smash the building behind him. The dragon's questionable arrival set aside, the battle ahead of them was ready to continue onward. "Woah, Legendary Pokemon in a dream!" The other trainer announced with wide eyes. "It is a dream." Avikna replied, her tone flat. "Aislin would you end this?"
Gazing back the canine rolled her eyes, nodding. "Yea, sure. Right on that." That being said, Aislin managed on her own fairly well, and where she would falter Dovakin was ready to return to the fray and end the Froslass' rein. Though, it was then another unexpected turn events did occur, this time in the sound of a familiar feminine voice. Gazing up Avikna couldn't see who had called her name, until Ookoth moved his head upward to collect the red-head's young charge. Watching Tay become lowered to the ground the red-head felt her shoulders loosen, if only a bit. It was good to see Tay unharmed. In her stead Freya, Tethe and her starter Elias were not far behind. The teen seemed overjoyed to see Avikna, which was to be expected. Rushing to Avikna's side, Tay widened her eyes to the battle before them. Aislin and the Froslass were still at a stalemate, with but one decisive move to determine the outcome of this seemingly endless battle. With her speed being raised do to the odd effects of the oddness of this dreamscape, Aislin managed to summon up one last orb of energy and launched it at the Froslass before it could send out it's own finishing move. With that, the duo had managed to end this fight. The other trainer looked disappointed but before he could say much of anything else... he vanished. Whether this was due to some ghostly activity or he simply woke up from his dream, Avikna and Tay were once more alone.

Pokemon Encounter :: 194/5 Not even a challenge :: 63/15 Item :: Heart Scale (7 +1 ) - 1o/1o Ooc :: Returning to Heahea City OoB :: ( Avikna ) Arietty, Aislin & Kezia, Ookoth ( Tay ) Tethe, Freya, Elias
With Tay's return Avikna felt relief cast over her. Turning to the brunette, the red-head crossed her arms to look the young girl over. Tay sheepishly placed her hands behind her back, lacing her fingers together. "You're not hurt?" Avikna inquired. She could see on the surface that Tay was fine, her Pokemon had done a fine job protecting her from any harm. The teen nodded, confirming this thought. "Yea, but I really want to leave this place." Tay replied, puffing out a cheek slightly. "I... was trying to be brave to impress you. But..-" "Don't." Avikna cut the teen off. She'd had a feeling. Letting out sigh, Avikna let a slight grin cross her face. "Being brave and reckless are two different things." She noted. She would know after all. "Let's go." Turning away from Tay, Avikna lead the way around the garden, finding their path lead them to a dead end. In truth the only way naturally to get back to the entrance and out of this place would be to go through the house again.. but Avikna wasn't having it. "Ookoth, since you've decided to finally show yourself, you can be of some use. Do something about that bush." Being a dream, they could of done just about anything to get over the hedge, but Avikna... just felt like poking fun at the legendary who'd opted to appear in her dream. Whether it really was him or just her version of him, he did as asked... not without a low growl and a slight whip of his tail at Avikna's feet.
Needless to say, the hedge was no match for Ookoth, and the dragon easily smashed it. After all it was just twigs and leaves. This act, however... hadn't gone unnoticed. "UNCIVILIZED SWINE!" Someone shouted from behind them. Avikna turned her gaze to find a rather ornery old man waving a pair of giant sheers. The sheers looked to be larger than him. "You shouldn't made dead ends." Avikna retorted. The old man snarled. "It's called a hedge maze for a reason! You go in one way and out the other! You don't make you own exits!" He replied raising the sheers with both hands this time to snip them in Avikna's direction. "What are you going to do about it?" The red-head asked, turning to fully face the old man. "Snip me?" "Avikna..." Tay muttered from behind her... This was one of those 'reckless' moments. "I'll teach you and that rayquwatsit some manners!" He shouted. Dropping his sheers rather skillfully so the blade was jammed into the ground, the old man then pulled out a ball and tossed it forward. From it, a Scizor. The intimidating steel-type bug snipped it's pincers in the air, much like how the old man done with his sheers. Avikna crossed her arms at the sight. This was... going to be a problem. Steel-types heavily countered much of her current team. Still, she wasn't one to simply give up. "If you insist." She replied. Ookoth caught the hint and ascended slightly into the sky, twirling his body around to face the Scizor and it's trainer. "Open things up with a Thunder!" Avikna announced, hoping she recalled Ookoth's moveset properly. The dragon reared it's head, yelling into the air, from the already darkened sky a bolt of lightning broke free and slammed harshly into the Scizor. Though the bolt did it's job in paralyzing the bug, it still managed to retaliate with an Iron Head, making Ookoth pull back from the attack, leaving him open for another Iron Head. "Hyper Beam!" Avikna shouted. If this battle was anything like the rest, a normal-type move would deal some serious damage to a steel-type like Scizor. Avikna was correct in this, as the Hyper beam nearly annihilated the Scizor. This however left him vulnerable for one more Iron head. One last Thunder and the round was won. From then on, Ookoth swiftly dealt with the ornery old man's remaining Pokemon. Nothing he had in his arsenal worked to slow the dragon down.
In the end, Ookoth emerged victorious. "Hmph." Avikna crossed her arms. With a shake of her head, she turned on her heel and began crossing through the path Ookoth had opened up for her. Tay trailed behind, still rather upset by Avikna's attitude just then. Needless to say, they were finally able to leave the spooky manor and everything to do with it. Once they'd made it a good portion of distance from the manor, Avikna glanced back to Tay. "Anywhere else you want to go while we're still sleeping?" Avikna asked. She wasn't in any particular rush, nor did she really care about where they went. Tay gazed up, hands clasped behind her back. "Not really. I.. think I'm done dreaming for now." Tay admitted. Was it possible to be tired in a dream? Avikna offered her a smirk. "Then, I guess we should figure out how to wake up." Avikna mentioned. They didn't need to think to long on it. Since just after Avikna stated that, a loud cackling echoed from behind them, likely from the manor and the in the next moment, they were startled awake back in Hea Hea.

Nonchalantly MD shrugged. "Maybe. I’m not a pokemon," he scratched behind his ear as he thought some, beginning to speak out loud though more so to himself.. "Uri and Jubilee are some of the first to jump to less than lawful actions sometimes, but I don’t think they do it on purpose so," another shrug followed and for MD that was the end of that conversation. Pokemon were fickle and strange creatures, right up there with humans and he certainly didn’t believe it was fair to hold pokemon accountable for things human found wrong and vice versa. It was just too grey an area, something he’d come to learn throughout years of different cases.
MD tilted his head some of Adder explained how he’d come across that knowledge on Team Galactic. "Oh? Huh, that makes sense. I’d have figured they’d rig the papers in their favor is all." He flashed a grin. "So you must’ve read about how Team Skull captured and held hostage a bunch of beach goers once? It was quite the story. And to think, they were reported as nothing but some crazy loser punks of the islands." Was that true? Was it fake? Really, this was a test and MD was just curious to see how far in the books the young man put his nose. "Personally I like surprises. I’d say going in blind and coming out a winner is a testimate to a trainer’s skill."
"Yeah, but I’d say it's worth it. Or if you eat the right thing," He gestured at Adder, implying that him still being sopping wet while MD was magically dry was a testament to the idea.
The man’s face was thoughtful at the question, pressing another key to ring through the silence that had returned. "Mmm maybe. Or maybe, we stay here?" Another key, an E flat this time. "I mean, you noticed too, right? The house keeps changing, it clearly doesn’t want to just let us ‘walk out’ and all." His attention turned more to the piano, only pausing as Mudkip showed up to chirp at him. "Do you want to try, little guy?" He offered to the mudfish, patting the seat next to him and then poking a few more keys. "Maybe a little music will help our pokemon find us instead. Let them come to us; they’ve got skills for that you know." Whether they worked or not was anyone’s guess but in the back of his mind, MD had an inclining that for once, he ought to just stay in one sport for longer than a minute.

The look on Adder's face suggested he wanted very much to ask who the hell Uri and Jubilee were, and continue to press and question MD's beliefs, but somehow, he just shut up instead. His mouth snapped shut and he eyed the man, ultimately deciding that trying to talk with him just... wasn't going to clarify anything. Even if some part of him was sincerely curious what pokemon MD was referring to. Especially if they were proving his case, or potentially problematic.
That expression became much harder to read at MD's "test" on how much Adder read the papers. He read it a lot, but then again, he'd only done so for the past couple years or so. He'd sort of been too young before then. So when MD mentioned a specific story, he was skeptical at best. "They are a bunch of loser punks," he replied back rudely, "So if they did do that, it was probably a fluke they were able to actually keep people in place." Not that he had personally encountered them much, but he did know about the team. And he knew they were a bunch of drop outs from the island trials. Not exactly impressive, or intimidating, and sure as hell not organized enough to really pull off a hostage situation without sheer, emphasis on dumb, luck. He'd have to ask Drey about it sometime, though.
MD has a lot of questionable opinions, Adder was realizing. Or at least, questionable to him. Most people might have appreciated the man's open minded and unique perspectives, but Adder, as was obvious, was a brat. So he did not. He just thought the man was an idiot, and it showed a bit on his face as he crossed his arms and watched him poke around at the keys on the piano. Mudkip was obviously much more forgiving, waddling over and chirping at him. When invited to join, the mud fish pokemon tried to jump up, failed, then tried again and managed to scramble up onto the seat. "Kip! Mudkip!" he chimed, jumping up onto the piano with a chorus of discordant notes. Adder winced and grimaced, reaching his hands up to cover his ears. "Ugh.... seriously?" he muttered.

Mudkip's epic sonata was, unfortunately, not meant to last. As the mudfish pokemon happily trounced about the keys, making a cacophony of noise, something else started rumbling. Adder frowned and slowly lowered his hands from his ears. The rumbling wasn't just an undercurrent of noise-- as it grew louder, the whole house felt like it was starting to shake. He tensed up, looking around, and then up, as water began dripping from the ceiling. Not just that, though-- as he stepped back, his foot nearly slipped, and he looked down to find that water was beginning to see up through the floor boards, too. His eyes grew wide, and he shot a panicked look at MD. "Still think it's a good idea to stay here!?" he snapped angrily, quickly turning towards the direction they came from.
Unfortunately, that wasn't an option; he stopped dead in his tracks as he came face to face with a surge of water rushing right at them. "Oh... crap!" He quickly turned to scramble as far back towards the opposite wall as he could. "Mudkip!" As if the pokemon could provide much protection against a wave, but the pokemon perked up, looked over, and leaped down, before bounding over to his trainer to do what he could, arceus dammit. The little water pokemon bunked down, head lowered and tail up in the air as he prepared to face off against the wave, but chirped curiously and perked up when he noticed a familiar (ish) Brionne at the front of the wave, clinging on to some unfamiliar cat-like looking pokemon and wailing at the top of her lungs. Tilting his head, mudkip noticed a muck of slime that also looked oddly familiar, riding along just behind the two, eyes glinting above the water, but everything else submerged.
So thrown off by the familiarity was the mudkip, that he turned to chirp at his trainer and point this out, only to very quickly, be overcome by the wave he was supposed to be fighting off. Adder threw his hands up, not noticing his pokemon's distraction, or the cause of it, and gave a shout before quickly getting dragged under water. He managed to splash to the surface, looking around frantically in search of MD, mudkip, anything. He whipped around when heard some sound growing closer from down the hall, but narrowed his eyes when he noticed....
"Pika pikaaaa!" Pikachu was riding some piece of furniture, surfing it happily towards his trainer, Adder's hat placed lopsidedly on his head. Adder blinked, several times, before crying out as something grabbed his leg, and tried to jerk him down. "F-Faraday!" he shouted, before gulping in air as he disappeared under the surface. He jerked his foot, panicking, and looked down, to see seaweed wrapped around his ankle. What the hell!? He reached down, but gave a shout, sending a stream of bubbles to the surface as a pokemon leered back at him. A Dhelmise.... really fitting, as the floor beneath them seemed to have disappeared completely, leaving an endless, dark abyss beneath the water's surface. Fear gripped Adder's chest and with so much oxygen lost, he was starting to panic hard. He struggled against the pokemon, desperately trying to free himself. He was going to die. He was going to die in the dream world and he had no idea if drowning in the dream world drowned you in real life! The pain in his chest was certainly starting to feel real, and just as a choked sound of panic sent another stream of bubbles out, something darted past him, and the water got ice cold. Adder looked down to see ice forming on the pokemon as it recoiled. Paralyzed by shock and fear, he watched Brionne battle the pokemon back, but as he did, his vision started to fade. The burning in his chest grew, and then, suddenly, dwindled, as he fell further and further into a darkness, drifting listlessly in the water, through the ether, slowly back towards the waking world.
Level 26 Dhelmise Brionne used Icy Wind! 75 x 2 = 150 - 10 = -140HP to Dhelmise! Dhelmise used Mega Drain! 40 + 10 = 50 x 2 = 100 - 20 = -80HP to Brionne! +40HP to Dhelmise!
Brionne used Icy Wind! -140HP to Dhelmise Dhelmise used Mega Drain! -80HP to Brionne

MD couldn’t help but grin as the Mudkip took him up on his offer, struggling to join him on the bench and then on the keys. He laughed out loud as the mudfish took to trouncing along the keys for a solo performance, clapping his hands together in delight, unphased by the clear groans of disapproval for the pokemon’s young trainer.
"Well, well, well, looks like we’ve got ourselves a natural here!" He teased, and gave the Mudkip a gentle pat on the head before scooting over and poking a few keys on the far end of the piano, creating an actual harmony that followed the racket of random notes. Despite the drama and tension up until this point, the older man couldn’t help but feel relaxed. Dream or not, doom and gloom or otherwise, it was nice to just… sit and take a moment to appreciate something. Even if only part of the present company did as well.
Like all things though, that was cut short. Just seemed to be a running theme for him, wasn’t it? MD looked up at Adder in confusion, mouth opening to speak when the sounds of straining boards and water drips caught his ears as well. Oh. Was the house really attempting to pull a water trick on them? Seemed a rather rude thing to do to such an antiquated ballroom.
Despite Adder’s panic, MD simply hunkered down in his seat, continuing to tap a few keys even as the Mudkip left in a valiant attempt to defend his trainer. After all at this point, MD felt confident in his abilities to withstand whatever the dream world wanted to throw at him. A little water? Easy to think through, if you just kept the dream part in mind-
-which was much harder than he thought. The water smashed through the doors they’d passed through not a few minutes before, a massive flood that even surprised him. "Whoa-" he sputtered, immediately clambering to his feet and rushing towards Adder and Mudkip, though he stumbled a bit at the sight of some very familiar pokemon. Sissil was clinging to Brionne in shocked panic, clearly trying not to get sucked under the wave for as long as possible while Smithy clung to the top of his hat. And not far after a rather rainbowy looking slime, was Dresden and the Bidoof, the first holding the other over his head in a desperate attempt to keep the creature from possibly drowning.
"The he-" he started before getting swept up by the water as well, flinching and trying to maintain some semblance of balance. He’d intended to just be cool and stand in the water like it was no biggy, but all the commotion and panic ruined that. Snapping to the surface MD gasped, frantically looking about as he heard his name shouted, spotting the boy just as he was jerked under the waters.
"Adder!" He called out, trying to reach to no avail. The distance was too great at this point, given he’d still been at the piano when the boy went running. He lookedabout, spotting Dresden and the Bidoof still treading water and a concerned Sissil who was hovering, frantically watching as Brionne disappeared from sight.
Damnit.
MD sucked in a gulp of air and dove down, greeted with darkness. He couldn’t see Adder through the pitch of the dark; seeing only the fragments of a battle. Was he okay? What happened? What grabbed him. He was honestly worried for the kid. This was scary.
But… it was also a dream. MD took a moment to still his thoughts; there was no harm here. It might’ve felt that way, but Adder would be okay. He had to be okay. This. Was just a dream. MD ran through the options available, ready to snag the boy if needed before an eerie presence caught his attention. His head turned to look over his shoulder, staring right into a pair of large red eyes.
Oh.
MD’s heart leapt into his throat. Dream or not, there was no denying the chill that ran down his spine. And it wasn’t from the water. It was disturbing the silence that managed to resonate in that bubble. It was also amazing how quickly a dream could turn into a nightmare.
There wasn’t much room to react; MD rolled over to stare full on at the face of the Sharpedo (who, by the way, was much too big for the rooms original size, how did that happen), just stunned. What did he do?
He wasn’t going to get a chance to think about it. MD spun about one last time, trying to see if Adder had reppeared before the mass of a beast-pokemon lurched back and bared a toothy grin. Yikes. MD opened his mouth in an attempt to yell, earning nothing but bubbles before curling reflexivity as the creature barreled at him, jaw swinging wide open and down just as quickly-
