She might've teased Gio more about Cerrobend, but he at least looked abashed about it. "Tsk, what do you want me to say? All things considered are you not having fun?" Arezu, who was used to these kinds of antics thanks to Hakuren, sent Gio a sardonic smile. "I guess you could say that. Been a while since I almost got blown up."
Gio brought out a bag of 'treats', and Arezu recognized them as rare candies. Ah, she thought to herself, Don't I have a bunch of those laying around? Maybe she should make use of them before one of her own pokemon copies Gio's Metang and eats them all up. She could check on that after they woke up.
"I mean woulda still rocked his Gi off". You can't punch a hole into a body of Steel." Arezu tactfully decided to not mention that Hikaru had done just that during their gym battle against Jasmine.
"I take it you don't know who lives there then," Gio asked when they reached the large treehouse -could it even be called a treehouse? It was practically a tree-town. Arezu raised an eyebrow. "Not everyone who lives in a treehouse knows each other," she stated while her eyes scanned the path up. There could be something hiding in the dark by those roots. Better be careful. Arezu turned to say that to Hikaru-
-and the lucario was already gone, racing after Lucario.
"Heh. C'mon Gio, let's catch up! Oh, who's this?" she asked, noticing the stately penguin pokemon Gio had let out. Wow, was this guy really on Gio's team? Seemed too....regal, for him. She snorted at the thought.
Meanwhile, Hikaru was chasing Lucario towards the trunk. To close the gap, she took a leap at a higher walkway instead of running along the path. "Hup." She landed with one knee and paw on the old wood, thudding down hard but thankfully not breaking the path. She couldn't see Lucario anymore, but she could feel his aura, on another path and at what felt like the same height. Without a moment to lose, she took off upwards, looking for any spot where she could leap up as a shortcut.
Hikaru and Lucario darted by Gio let out his Empoleon. "Heh. C'mon Gio, let's catch up! Oh, who's this?" she spoke referring to both catching up to the two racing Pokemon and the Pokemon he let out of the Ball. He started walking a little quicker while talking "This is Empoleon, found him as a Piplup wearing a King's Rock." he paused trying to remember more details. "Actually in Saffron, some old man gave it to me. He told me something along the lines of" he's started talking in an old man voice "I watched your battles with Brock and Misty. You need to be more humble. Blah blah blah. This Pokemon will teach you humility" he returned his voice back to normal. "Humility in defeat, but a win is a win ya know"
The Water Type did not seem to be happy about this comment. In fact Gio had mentioned to visit the old man again in exchange for the Pokemon. That was the true reasoning behind his willingness to want to resist the Trainer.
Lucario felt he got a decent head start, or maybe Hikaru didn't want to race. For a half moment he slowed down trying to find her Aura. It was... It was above him! She was fast, that was for sure. He needed to pick up his speed he thought. This was exhilarating if not the most challenge he had received in a while. He was fairly certain at this point she had the advantage. He was trying to consider other options as checked the Aura around him. However they were close to the base of the tree and he could tell he was gonna lose. He grunted, "You got lucky I couldn't see you" he said jokingly upset with him.
As they approached Gio decided to respond to her prior comment on not all people who live in treehouses know "So you live a treehouse?" he was assuming, but he was still asking not sure. If she did it was more housing than he had, after all he had grown very accustomed to practically living in Pokemon Centers.

A King's Rock is, uh... Arezu imagined a stately king holding an ordinary rock in his hands. No, that wasn't right. She was pretty sure she'd never seen one before, but she'd take Gio's word for it. His grumpy old man voice was pretty good, and it made her laugh out loud. It only made it funnier that she could completely relate to whoever had said that to Gio. Imagining it in her head made it difficult to stop laughing. "Oh my- oh my god, what did you do?" She was suddenly seeing an image of Gio lobbing a baby Cerroband at poor Brock while shouting something ridiculous. She managed to make a decently solemn face at Empoleon. "He doesn't make it easy, does he?" she said to him conspiratorially. So far it seemed Gio had a lot of pokemon that were trying to train him.
Given that they were clearly not going to catch up to Hikaru and Lucario (seriously, who lit a fire in their pants?), Arezu slowed down a bit. At least enough to make sure any weak-looking wooden planks weren't going to collapse on them. "So you live a treehouse?" Gio asked. Arezu hadn't realized she hadn't mentioned it before. She wasn't about to just tell that to a stranger, but she hadn't really thought of Gio as a stranger for... a while now. Somewhere between learning to fly and almost getting blown up, maybe. "Yeah. We -my pokemon and me- made it. It's uh... a lot simpler than this though," she added, rubbing the back of her neck.
Hikaru, meanwhile, was maybe trying a bit too hard to win. She was grateful that the tree was in the way of her view and Lucario's too, so he couldn't see some of the more ridiculous maneuvers she made scrabbling into tiny holes in the wood to go just a bit faster. As it was, when she got to where all the paths joined into one just before the top, she had only a moment before Lucario caught up with her. She did a quick blast of aura to get all the wood chips off her fur, but there was still a noticeable tuft on her left shoulder and right hip sticking out. "Lucky? Hmm, if you say so," she flashed him a mysterious smile while focusing on not breathing too hard from the exertion.
Their trainers were still winding their way up the tree. Hikaru didn't want to wait, so she gestured to Lucario and together they crested the top. The source of the light they'd seen wasn't a legendary pokemon, but it did make Hikaru breathe out in wonder. Seemingly growing from the center of the trunk was a crystal tree, lit from the inside with an amber light. On its branches hung glass bulbs, each with its own glowing light inside. When Hikaru used her aura sight, she realized she hadn't been able to tell this was here because the crystal tree's aura was the same as that of the huge tree they stood on. Fascinating.
Arezu seemed to trapped in a hysterical laughing fit, some how she managed to ask him what he did. "I just went in there and did what anyone else would do" he gave a slight snort "Brock talks a big game, but he was no match for Rusty, my Steelix. Besides I didn't make him put a bunch of holes in the Gym. We just got caught in the heat of the moment" he left out the part where he definitely antagonized Brock .
She got serious for a second staring at the Empoleon, "He doesn't make it easy, does he?" the Steel Penguin opened one eye and looked down at Arezu as if trying to signal she had no idea
The group, consisting of everybody except for the two Lucario who had darted off racing towards the tree started to slow down as they approached the wooden planks that led up the tree. "Yeah. We -my pokemon and me- made it. It's uh... a lot simpler than this though," that was much more than he could ever get his Pokemon to do. He imagined his frigate sitting in Olivine City, rotting away from lack of maintenance. That was the closest thing he ever had to a home. If it wasn't for fear of Sharpedo he might actually sail around it too. "That's cool, all tree houses have a certain elegance to them though. Ever been to Fortree?" he was of course referring to the City in Hoenn that practically all treehouses. He had never been there personally, but he had seen the travel pamphlets in Pokemon Centers trying to lure Trainers to visit.
Lucario knew there was no way Hikaru was gonna buy that excuse, well before he even said it. No use in pushing the point further, after all he had challenged her to a race. Hikaru didn't seem to want to wait for the others as she motioned him forward. From what he could tell both Trainers had started to slow down. He guessed they had gotten a little far ahead, but assumed Gio wouldn't mind if he kept going.
He felt like they were near the center of the tree. There was a huge burst of Aura from the trunk, it almost seemed like another tree but he couldn't make out the shape. "What is this?" he asked curiously. It had the same Aura as the rest of the tree and he imagined it as some sort of life force. "The Aura here seems... Relatively strange... Compared to other parts of this world" it was true, it didn't seem like the first tree they had started at. Most of all it didn't seem as... Fragile or dark as the cave they had been in. His biggest question, he was sure she couldn't even answer. Who or what built this elaborate tree structure in the middle of the forest? Some questions were better left unasked or left unanswered. He was curious though and that tended to be his, well his Trainers down fall. He heard a saying once "Curiosity killed the Delcatty, but satisfaction brought it back"

Gio beat Brock with a Steelix? Talk about disrespect, using onyx's evolution like that. Brock was kind of asking for it, using rock types though. He probably didn't deserve his gym to actually get chunks punched out of it though. Jeez. "Wow. And he still gave you a badge after that?" Arezu had never hit that level of destruction in a gym battle. She did kind of set Erika's gym on fire, but they had sprinklers and honestly it was to be expected for a gym battle against a grass-type user in the middle of a greenhouse.
"That's cool, all tree houses have a certain elegance to them though," Gio said. Arezu craned her neck to look up at the houses growing out of the tree's side, thoughtful. She didn't see it, exactly. Elegant wasn't the word she'd use to describe it, though she wasn't sure what would take it's place. "Ever been to Fortree?"
"Four tree?" That...what? Like, were there four famous trees out there or something? She hadn't heard of it in Kalos, Kanto, Johto or Sinnoh. "No, haven't heard of it." It sounded like a place that would be in Alola.
Hikaru approached the strange glowing tree to place a paw on its surface. "Hm. Smooth," she commented. Lucario, who was keeping pace with her, said, "The Aura here seems... Relatively strange... Compared to other parts of this world." But Hikaru couldn't really comment on that- she'd always had difficulty with controlling and sensing aura. Though she had trained a lot in the last few months with Arezu at picking out and tracking individual auras in a crowd, a lot of this dream world felt like a big samey blob. "Is it? How so? This whole world feels strange to me, it's difficult to pick out any differences."
Gio had to admit, Arezu being surprised Brock still have him a badge was an unforeseen answer. "I suppose he really didn't have a choice." he thought about it for a second before adding "You don't see Gym Battles as a test of strength?" indeed he had never been one for following rules, just as long as no one got hurt. The more Eline spoke of her situation, the more concerned Naomi became for her physical form. But, he seemed the only one. "Ah." Without an immediate response at the ready, Naomi went for an automatic sound accompanied by a slow nod of the head. "I suppose you have a point. This is a rare occurrence," he agreed, while absent-mindedly running a hand over the inside of his shirt. The next time he closed his eyes, would he ever experience this hyper reality again? Or was this truly a once in a life time event? He patted his shirt, one last time, before returning his attention to his conversation partner. "If you see no need to worry, then worry I shall not!" Naomi urged a smile onto his face, then tucked his concerns away to the back of his mind.
An energetic wave was given in Neon's direction, and while their conversation didn't continue past initial pleasantries Naomi kept his eyes on the Rotom, curious, as it made its way back to its electronics. "Oh, that is very considerate of you to do." In fact, it gave him some pause. Should he have asked his pokemon to join him? Well, the newer ones, Tomoe and Empress Jingū hadn't had... much of a choice in joining him, Tomoe especially. The two seemed happy to be apart of his team, but... hm, maybe he should've changed that? The skin in between his eyebrows crinkled as he brought them together, perplexed at his lack of common decency. What brought him out of the beginning of a thought spiral was Eline mentioning Ieyasu.
"Ah!" His eyes brightened, practically sparkling, and he brought Ieyasu closer to his chest. "I have yet to find any Eevee in Alola either, but Ieyasu and I are from Ransei! We have been partners for eight years now," he explained, excitement oozing out of his voice. If there was one thing he enjoyed-- well, there were many things he enjoyed. But, he most definitely enjoyed talking about their home region. "Have you ever been there?" Naomi asked, genuinely curious about Eline's experience and knowledge. "It is--" A sudden yawn interrupted his incoming question, which was immediately covered up by a free hand, and he blinked abruptly to try and settle himself. It had crept up on him, this sudden exhaustion, and now it felt as if he'd just finished sloughing through a mountain of snow.
"Mm." He fought off another yawn, pulled Ieyasu a bit closer. "Forgive me," he apologized. "I... ah... what was I saying?" For the life of him, he couldn't remember what he had just been talking about. Honestly, he couldn't think of anything beyond his sudden need to sleep. Which... was odd... because this was a dream? "Eline, would you mind if I sat down for a few minutes?" he asked, but already he was moving to set himself underneath a tree. It was just a few minutes, to gather his strength and then continue on with his conversation with Eline. And yet, the minute he sat down Naomi felt his eyes grow heavy and his head fell forward.
Well... a quick nap was also another way to replenish his energy.
