Although he had noticed the sounds of battle earlier, Felix hadn't paid them any mind as he enjoyed his snack. He had figured them to be just some wild pokemon scuffling over a piece of fruit or something. Even the second battle didn't really make the trainer do more than clean off the knife he had cut the sitrus berry with so that he could fold it back up and tuck it away. It wasn't until the trainer heard someone call out from somewhere surprisingly close that he stiffened up and looked around. Now that he was paying attention, Felix could hear footsteps through the grass and bushes, along with another, closer sound that he couldn't really identify beyond shuffling grass and leaves. The man was tense, ready to leave, when out from under the bushes popped... an anorith that plopped into the pond and sank.
It was comical, really. So much so that Felix couldn't help but let out a quiet sigh while Zelse let out a croaking laugh. "Yeah, I'm here," he replied to whoever was approaching. Right, this was either a dream or the afterlife. What was the worst that someone could do to him? Kick his a** for a smart-alec answer? "Was that your anorith that just took a dip?" he asked the trainer that had cautiously entered the clearing. The other male didn't seem like a figment of his imagination. Too detailed, even if those details were a bit odd. Still, at least it was another human, and one that didn't look too unfriendly.
The sounds of a scuffle that was far too close for comfort distracted Felix from the newcomer. Turning to look, the trainer saw Zelse get in what was apparently the final hit against an irritated ponyta. Both pokemon looked bad off, but it seemed the fire type got the worst of it and was slowly walking away from the clearing. Felix sighed as he walked over to the pool his froakie was trying to relax in. "I can't take my eyes off you for one minute, can I?" he chided as he knelt down to look over the water type's wounds, then frowned. Aside from a red sore that the froakie was still soaking, there didn't seem to be so much as a scratch on Zelse. He had been injured in that fight against the ponyta, hadn't he? The trainer was sure he saw some scuffs and bruises before he walked over. "...Huh... Well, I'll check if there's something around here for that burn." Felix stood back up and dusted off the legs of his pants. He then shot a grin towards the other trainer. "I suppose I should introduce myself. The name's Felix."

Jay paused with one hand on a tree trunk when he heard a voice call out. 'I'm here'... The voice wasn't familiar, at least he didn't think, so Jay wasn't quite sure what to make of that, at first. Pressing forward, he hesitated on what felt to be the edge of the treeline around an apparent clearing. Thankfully, Lee gave a curious chirrup as they breached the forest, her tiny feet pitter pattering on his shoulder in interest at the sight before her. The sound was enough for him to get a good impression of things-- about how big the clearing was, where the ground sloped towards the water, a few bushes near the edge, spaced out... and a man, near the other side. Or at least, it seemed to be a man. The voice had sounded more male, and the impression Jay got fell more into line with a more masculine frame. Still, these sort of things were always a little hard for Jay, and some people were touchy, so he got decent at keeping ambiguity in mind.
"Uh..." Jay wasn't thrown by the question so much as he hadn't been considering what Annie was up to, or why it was of note. He had to think back, and yeah... probably. "Sure sounded like it," he replied back humorously, smiling from under his hat. His eyes were still closed, and he stepped out carefully, finally letting his hand fall off the tree. As he did, he felt the temperature change as, it seemed, "sunlight" touched his skin, and he shifted to lean back against the tree, back into the shade.
Pulling off his bag, he knelt down, letting Lee down while he brought the bag around. He was still keeping an ear out for the guy, just in case he proved threatening, but for now, he was settling down a bit. "Lee, d'ya mind checkin' on Annie?" he asked, drawing out a few other pokeballs, and releasing some of his pokemon. "Y'all feel free to get a drink and maybe take a dip while we're here," he offered them, including the two grass types he'd just caught, who were probably barely conscious given the state they'd been. Pokemon could flee, so it wasn't like being at zero health was completely debilitating, but they sure weren't in any condition to fight. Thankfully, the clearing was a bit more open... though it apparently didn't stop an Elekid from trying to bum-rush its way in. Archen happened to be in the way and let out a squak, retaliating to the attack sent his way, and promptly sending the pokemon fleeing with a look of disgruntlement. What the hell?
Jay's attention diverted for a moment, but it seemed that wasn't the only battle going on. Whoever else was here also had a little situation on his hands, and seemed to be addressing his pokemon while Jay got his things back together and adjusted his hat. "Yer pok'mon alright?" he asked, standing back up and pulling his backpack on. He kept his head slightly tilted towards Felix, but given he didn't see... he wasn't exactly "looking" directly at him. It was more like he was listening in his direction. He smiled at the introduction, though. "Nice t'meet ya. I'm Jay," he returned, paused, then added with a chuckle, "Don' s'pose you've been havin' anymore luck figurin' this place out, by chance?" It was in every sense a shot in the dark, but who knows? Maybe this guy was a part of this 'dream world' sent here to help guide and explain things. He was the first trainer that Jay had come across, though Annie had been the one to identify him as such. Honestly, given this place's name, he supposed he was just glad things hadn't started literally turning into jelly, yet.

It seemed that Felix's froakie wasn't the only pokemon to end up in a scuffle. Some little elekid apparently decided that it wanted to cause trouble, too. It didn't get much of a chance, though, having been driven off by the colorful bird pokemon the other trainer had let out. "Seems we found a popular spot," Felix mused as he looked over Zelse's wounds, or rather the lack of them. When asked how his pokemon was doing, the gave the man a friendly enough smile. "Just a burn, it looks like. I... actually thought he'd be a lot more hurt from how that fight sounded," he admitted, then got up and introduced himself. The other guy intruduced himself as 'Jay', but it somehow seemed to Felix like he was being talked 'at' instead of 'to'. That was fine by him.
When asked if he knew anything about the area, the trainer couldn't help but laugh. "Sorry, sorry." He was quick to try and calm down after his little outburst. Probably seemed rude to the other person. "I've only just decided I'm probably not dead. So beyond the alternative of this being some sort of fever dream, the only thing I've figured out is the berries growing around here are surprisingly filling," he admitted. Honestly, he actually wasn't entirely sure he wasn't dead, but it'd probably be better to just go with the flow. And right now, part of that flow was getting something to heal Zelse's burn, so Felix checked some of the trees to see if any were growing rawst berries. As it turned out, none of them did, and instead it was a bush that held some of the blue-green fruits. Again, Felix was no berry expert, but he was pretty sure rawst berries grew from trees, not bushes.
Either way, Felix found the berry he needed, so he walked back to the edge of the pool and crouched down. "Hey, Zelse.""Fro?" Since he had been left to himself, the froakie had done a little bit of diving. The pond was several feet deep, which was more than enough for the frog pokemon to enjoy himself. He had heard his trainer call, though, and popped his head back above water to see what the human wanted. "Come over here," Felix instructed, and for a moment it looked like Zelse wasn't willing to comply since he dove back down into the pond. But a few moments later, the froakie hopped out onto the bank next to his trainer. "Alright, let me take a look... at..." Felix's voice trailed off as he saw that Zelse looked perfectly fine. No burn. Felix frowned as he checked the froakie's other side just to be sure. No burn there either. "Um... I guess it... healed?" Zelse croaked in agreement, then hopped back into the pond to swim around and enjoy himself.
For a few moments, Felix stared in disbelief. He eventually let out a sigh and pocketed the berry for if it was needed later. "I guess I just learned something," the trainer commented as he rubbed the back of this neck. "Seems the water here is doing a lot more good than just cooling off our pokemon." That... actually gave Felix an idea. He unclipped one of the balls from his belt and gently rolled it in his palm, glancing back at Jay while he deliberated. After some thought, he frowned, then opened the ball and let Talon out on the grass beside himself. The dark skarmory was conscious now, but he still looked pretty bad. The metal bird squawked and his metallic feathers clattered together as he ruffled them. Felix just chuckled and got a cloth to dip in the pool. "Yeah, I know. You're still sore," Felix soothed as he washed down the bird. Talon gave another squawk before scooching closer to the pool, getting himself close enough to dip his beak in and take a drink.

Jay hummed a bit in agreement at Felix's observation. It made sense, or at least, it would have in the 'real world', given that pokemon often flocked to water sources just to get a drink and such. This was the dream world, though, assuming that Ralward had been correct with his information, and honestly, Jay couldn't help but wonder if pokemon actually even needed to drink. Or eat, for that matter. Heck, even if they did, could they potentially just.... dream it up? Honestly he wasn't sure. This was the dream world, sure, but he wasn't sure if that meant it was a set world, that you accessed through your dreams, and made about as much sense as one, or if that meant this was like a dream, where things were fluid enough that you could possibly change them through sheer will power and focus, like those that mastered lucid dreaming did.
"It did sound perty bad, but then again, my li'l bug pok'mon up 'n finished a fire type without usin' any ground moves, so who knows how battles work in this place," he commented, reaching up to gently bet Lee, who gave a whistling chirrup in return. He leaned down and let the little bug onto the ground, deciding that, if pokemon could drink here, and did need to, he might as well give her access, while checking on Annie. Instead, though, Lee immediately burrowed underground, happy purring-like sounds disappearing with her. Guess she really missed being in the earth, having been on his shoulder so much. Thankfully, she at least popped up by the water, both to check on the pond, and to do as Jay had previously asked, and see how their companion was doing. It was about then that Annie finally crawled out of the water, gasping and panting, and melted onto the shore, still part way submerged. "Guess I still can't swim yet..." he muttered, while Lee sniffed him, and then crawled onto his shell to drink some of the water, using him as, essentially, a bit of a ramp into the water.
As Jay straightened up, his eyebrows rose a tthe man's laugh in response to his question. He uh... hadn't thought it was that funny. Maybe he was missing something. He relaxed some as the man explained, and an understanding, amused smirk tugged at one corner of his lips. "Gotcha. Well, if it helps at all, psychic pok'mon of mine, who's still in, well... the 'real world', I s'pose, was able ta contact me 'n told me this was some sorta 'dream world'. Ain't sure what that means or how he deduced that, or if he's even for sure right about it all, but... There ya go," Jay offered, moving away from the tree line a bit. He paused a bit in thought, though, before adding, "Didju say there were berries here?"
Honestly... Jay hadn't really bothered letting that mean anything, but as the thought started seeping in subconsciously, PJ suddenly came to mind. Jay was still no expert on contests, but he was pretty sure those could be used for them, and hell, a whole lotta other things as well. That would explain the pretty pungent, fruity smell surrounding the area, too....
Jay was fairly in depth in his thoughts, still listening to Felix even as the man interacted more with his pokemon, but turned to focus entirely on him when he seemed to direct the conversation back at Jay. His eyebrows rose again, eyes still closed as he did. "Oh yeah? What's it, got healin' properties or somethin'?" he asked, pulling off his hat to brush a hand back through his hair, before tugging it back on and moving in the vague direction of the water, still sweeping his feet out with each step while he walked. That sounded like the sort of thing you'd hear of in myths more than anything, but... that would explain why so many other pokemon were interested in this place. If they needed it like trainers needed a pokecenter, hell, it was a wonder it wasn't flocked with pokemon. Yet. Maybe they were only just now starting to trickle in because trainers like he and Felix were here threatening their territory, and fighting back when they tried to defend it.... Yikes. Jay probably ought to have felt guilty -- or at least, some might have -- but honestly... pokemon were pokemon. It was kind of the way of nature, and it was only natural for them, and their own pokemon, to defend themselves.

Felix nodded a bit, but otherwise didn't comment when Jay mentioned his bug was able to handle a fire type in spite of not using moves that would usually be effective. He made a note of it, but otherwise had other concerns on his mind. Specifically, finding a berry for Zelse's burn, since it would undoubtedly hinder the frog if he had to battle again. Besides, there was something that grabbed his attention slightly more, specifically Jay asking if he knew much about the strange place the two trainers found themselves in. That had gotten a laugh out of Felix, but as he somewhat explained, it was because he probably had less knowledge about this weird dream world than Jay. Heck, this other trainer actually had a huge advantage over him, given the guy apparently had some sort of psychic pokemon that was communicating with him from the real world. Felix wasn't sure Glitch would be able to afford him the same luxury, since even though the porygon resided in his pokedex, at best it'd be reading two dexes at once, but more likely the version that Felix could actually communicate and interact with would only be able to verify information in the version of his pokedex in the dream world. Probably. It was... rather confusing to think about too much.
When Jay inquired about the berries he mentioned, it was Felix's turn to raise an eyebrow. The man had already had his suspicions, given the way the other trainer walked, the fact that his eyes had been closed for most of their meeting, and even the way Jay talked at him. But the berries were kind of the last straw, given they were hanging quite visibly from the branches of trees and bushes all around the pond and the hidden clearing it sat in. "...Yeah, I did. Most of the trees surrounding this clearing are loaded with them," he replied simply. "Any particular kinds you're looking for?" It was an innocent enough question as he went to treat his froakie for a burn that... no longer existed. There had only been two logical explanations for the wound healing so quickly, but the only rawst berries he had seen growing in the area were too far away for one to have simply rolled into the pond. Plus, he was pretty sure he'd have at least noticed if Zelse went and grabbed one himself. So Felix voiced his opinion on the pool, stifling a quiet chuckle as Jay was a bit more blunt about what he had implied. "So it would seem. I'm pretty sure that burn didn't just heal itself." It would be nice if that were the case, but the trainer supposed that while the dream world might be healing the pokemon, it at least needed some sort of excuse to do so 'naturally'.
That had actually given Felix an idea, so after some hesitation he let out his odd-colored skarmory so that the bird could benefit from the pool, too. Talon was rather peeved at his trainer, something that was obvious to Felix based on how the steel type was squawking and clattering his feathers. Honestly, the trainer couldn't blame him for being upset, given the abuse he had taken... how long ago? Felix couldn't recall just how much time it had been since their little incident, and trying to remember just made his head hurt. The trainer decided to ignore it for the moment and instead focused on cleaning the scorch marks off the steel bird. The skarmory still squawked occasionally, but fewer of them were actually directed at Felix and instead the bulk of them were aimed at Jay. "Easy. He's not gonna hurt us," the trainer soothed as he carefully rubbed the skarmory's head, then paused and looked at Jay. "...At least, I sure hope you don't want to hurt us." It had been intended as a joke, and Felix even let out a little chuckle afterwards, but his voice had a wary tone to it that the trainer just couldn't help.
Almost as soon as the joke had been made, the two trainers would be able to easily hear something loudly crash through the brush and trees. Whatever was stomping through was doing so in a hurry, and soon enough a kangaskhan smashed its way into the clearing. Felix didn't really have time to question how he didn't hear the thing approach sooner since the rampaging pokemon charged towards the lake and, as seemed to be his usual luck lately, the trainer and his skarmory were in the kangaskhan's path. While the man scrambled to try and get back to his feet in time, Talon was a bit quicker and shifted over to put himself between his trainer and the raging kangaskhan. The steel bird let out a few loud squawks as he spread his wings of blackened metal out and braced for what he assumed would be a pitiful impact. "Talon, mo-" The attempted order came a bit too late as the large normal type's fist slammed into the blackened skarmory, knocking Talon back into his trainer and dumping the both of them into the pond.
Dazed by the initial hit, for a moment Talon was a bit confused as he stayed where in the pool he landed and craned his head in search of his trainer. A sudden eruption of bubbles from just beside him made the skarmory squawk in surprise and fly out of the pool. A moment later, Felix's head popped above water roughly where his Skarmory had been, coughing and sputtering as the trainer tried to make his way to a different shore. The trainer wasn't sure if he was unlucky or not that he and his skarmory had been knocked into one of the shallower parts of the pond. "Sir! Ta-Ta-Talon has suffer-ered a massive hi-i-i-it!" An attempt at a sigh from Glitch's garbled warning just turned into a coughing fit as Felix crawled out of the water and onto the grass. At least that meant the pokedex was still working. "Be re... ready to... fight..." Felix managed to cough out while Talon tried to fight the kangaskhan. The trainer could see his skarmory managed to get a solid bit of pecking in, but it didn't take long at all for the steel bird to once again be unable to battle.
As soon as Talon was knocked out by the flailing normal type, a rather soggy porygon materialized from Felix's somewhat waterlogged pokedex. Glitch wasted no time and immediately shot a psybeam at the kangaskhan, knocking out the raging pokemon before it could cause any further harm. "Good," Felix coughed before letting himself just flop onto the ground. He knew he should probably get up, or at least chuck a pokeball at the kangaskhan before it came to, but right now he just wanted to get his breathing back under enough control that he wasn't hacking up a lung with every other syllable he spoke. The trainer wasn't coughing up water, but his throat and lungs still felt irritated and stung as air passed through them. He forced himself to take breaths that were slightly deeper each time to 'remind' his throat and lungs how they were supposed to work.

Jay tilted his head back, expression serene as he listened and took in the surroundings. "... Huh." He finally spoke after a moment, lifting up to adjust his hat as he righted his head. "Guess I oughta figgered from the smell, but t'be honest, I wasn' sure if it was just some flowers or somethin'," he remarked. With an informed take, he supposed he could recognize some of the berries scents in the area, but they were all mixed together, he never would have identified them as just a bunch of berries off the bat. A smile tugged at his lips. "Dunno... Don' s'pose yer very familiar with contests, are ya?" he asked, his somewhat joking tone giving away that he didn't expect that to get a yes from the other man. Honestly, Jay wasn't sure he'd met a lot of people who did contests. Sebastian had been interested, and they'd done some of that together, and his own pokemon were interested, but... it just hadn't come up all that much, honestly. So, he wasn't going to put a bet on getting help on what berries to try and find from Felix here. Maybe he'd see if he could get some help from his own pokemon, not that those who knew anything about contests were here, exactly.
Jay relaxed a bit as Felix actually confirmed his somewhat joking level of a remark to the water, a smile on his face that the man had actually seemed to get a bit of a laugh out of it. Good to see he had a sense of humor, too. That was always good to have in company. "Well, that sure is convenient. 'Specially with wild pok'mon attackin' here and there. Lets our groups get some restin' and healin' between fights," he remarked with some relief. Hopefully that would even help the pokemon he'd defeated and captured, the two starters, get back to full health, too. It might have seemed a bit selfish, but if they could defend themselves and get trained up, then that would certainly help complete the whole pokedex thing sooner. And then Jay could let them go, if that was what they wanted-- or, they coudl stay and travel, too. It was going to get hard for Jay to be so easy going and compliant if he did this with every single pokemon he caught for the pokedex information, though....
The ginger turned his head to listen towards Felix as he seemed to release another pokemon of his own, Jays' eyebrows raising at the slight ruckus that the pokemon let out in return. Some sort of bird pokemon? It sounded a bit too... screechy to be a braviary, but maybe another feathered friend? He tired to listen in and identify it while it took in its surroundings. It almost sounded metallic... In trying to identify the pokemon, it took a little while for Jay to realize that Felix was talking to the pokemon, about him. He smiled when he did, though, and his eyebrows rose yet again. "Who me?" he asked with a light laugh. He actually gave a pause in case he'd misunderstood, but when it seemed that, indeed, they were referring to him, he continued, "Nah. Ain't sure I could hurt y'all even if I wanted. I depend on my pok'mon fer the heavy liftin'." That was sort of a lie, but, it worked with what people seemed to assume about him, and for the most part, worked as the truth. Jay was pretty harmless, as long as he wasn't acting in defense.
That grin quickly vanished as Jay's head snapped to listen off to the side. He'd heard something moving around there before -- there were a lot of sounds off in the distance, honestly -- but it was getting a lot louder, and suddenly, a lot closer. Jay nearly tripped as he tried to take a few steps away from the impending sound, though as it charged through the edge of the clearing, it seemed he wasn't the one in the way. He grimaced and turned his head some at the sound of impact, before immediately sweeping a foot forward and listening out. "Felix!??" He turned his head this way and that, trying to catch a better picture of what was going on. He clicked his tongue, but there was a lot of irratic movement and the echoes he got back didn't give the clearest picture in his head. He straightened, then relaxed as it seemed Felix was at least able to get out of the water, and get some air. That wasn't the only thing going on, though-- whatever had charged into him and his pokemon (a Kanghaskan, judging by its call) was now fighting Felix's pokemon, and Jay tried to move over to where it sounded like the man was climbing out of the water.
"You alright?" he asked, listening with a concerned expression. HIs own pokemon had jumped to attention, startled by the sudden appearance, and were looking to their trainer for some sort of guidance. Jay wasn't about to interfere in a pokemon battle unless he got confirmation, though, or it was really sounding dire. And it seemed that Felix had a back up pokemon already in mind, so that when his-- metal bird? Jay still needed to try and remember which pokemon that could be -- fainted, another hopped into its place and quickly took the wild pokemon down. "You okay?" Jay reiterated, clicking his tongue again to get an idea of Felix's location, and confirm that the raging pokemon had fainted. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his heart a bit from the scare. "Maybe we oughta move.... this place doesn' seem too keen on stayin' restful," he muttered in consideration. It wasn't that he wasn't up for some training, or hell, even for catching and encountering some more pokemon, but getting charged like that didn't sound fun, and he didn't want his pokemon to get exhausted or interrupted every time while they were trying to soak...

tabtabFelix paused at Jay's question, then turned his head to look at the other trainer. An eyebrow raised as the tan-haired male considered the irony of what the other trainer's question implied. "They're, ah, not really my thing," he admitted with a chuckle. He wouldn't have pegged contests as Jay's thing either, for that matter. "...But I do know a few berries popular with coordinators." To be fair, most of those popular berries also happened to be useful for trainers focusing on battles as well. Heck, trainers were more likely to focus on most of them than coordinators due to how difficult many of them were to find or grow, as well as their effects when consumed during battle. "I'm sure I could offer at least a few suggestions. And if you can stand his little speech problem, one of my partners can fill in the blanks." Okay, maybe this was being a bit too generous, but if they really were stuck in a dream, it wasn't like the other guy would really be able to pay Felix for any intel. If he was gonna offer a freebie, might as well make it a good one.
tabtabAlthough, Felix ended up getting sidetracked from whatever advice he could give when he noticed that Zelse had been healed by just soaking in the water. The two trainers joked a bit about the water having some healing properties, along with other things. Although, Felix couldn't help but look Jay over when the ginger joked about not being that dangerous. He somehow doubted the other trainer's claim, if only because it seemed like the other man had a similar build to him. Sure, if Jay had the problem Felix suspected, then that would probably be enough to get a first strike in or cause trouble from a distance, but if someone was stupid enough to get close in, they'd probably get a nasty surprise. Unfortunately, it seemed like Felix had picked the wrong time to be distracted by trying to evaluate his company, as a rampaging kangaskhan came in and swatted Talon away like the skarmory was made of tin. The bird had slammed into Felix, and the both of them had an unwanted dip in the pond. It was probably a good thing that Talon had quickly realized what had happened and moved, or else Felix would probably have had a lot more trouble trying to get out of the water since it seemed Zelse was not very interested in helping the human.
tabtabWhen Jay first asked Felix if he was alright, all the tan-haired trainer could do was uselessly nod in the other man's direction since he had to warn Glitch that the porygon would be fighting next. It wasn't until the second inquiry that the trainer was able to give some sort of reply. "I... I think so..." the man coughed as he tried to reassure the other person. Actually, he wasn't that wrong, either. Aside from nearly drowning under his skarmory and being a little sore from the impact, Felix felt... fine? His clothes had some gashes in them from Talon's wings and, well, talons, but judging from the lack of red stains around the damaged parts of his clothes, it looked like Felix himself managed to escape serious injury. Maybe because none of this was actually real? But he sure felt like he was drowning...
tabtabWhen Jay suggested that they try finding somewhere else, it jostled Felix out of his thoughts enough to notice that Glitch was prodding at him and stuttering something. The tan-haired male nodded a bit as he gently rubbed his porygon's head. "It's okay, Glitch," he reassured the digital pokemon, although Glitch looked at him doubtfully when he let out another hoarse cough right after speaking. Still, the porygon was willing to give its trainer some space when Felix slowly tried to get up. The man looked like a drowned rat, and he was still dripping water, but he didn't feel particularly cold or even wet. Chalk it up to one more strange fact about this dream world he was stuck in. "Yeah, we should get... going," Felix agreed, still coughing now and then but at least able to string more than a couple words together at a time. He looked over to where Talon was and noticed that the metal bird was back to moving around. Well, the skarmory had taken a dip, even if it was completely unintentional. Maybe the pool's waters had a lingering effect? Whatever, he wasn't about to question it too hard.
tabtabInstead, Felix was concerned about the rampaging kanghaskan that Talon and Glitch had felled. It was still out cold, but the trainer had no idea for how long. "Zelse! Talon!" he called out to his pokemon, coughing afterwards as the two turned their attention to their trainer. "...We're leaving soon," Felix warned them, then pointed Talon's ball at the skarmory. "Sorry, but you're a bit too big... to be flying around down here." After the apology, Felix recalled the steel bird. Honestly, he was more concerned about how the weird nature of this world would affect Talon's durability than any maneuverability issues. The attack that had nearly knocked the skarmory out with one hit was a normal type attack, something that would have hurt but otherwise the pokemon should have laughed off. If that was the trend in this place rather than a fluke, then Felix was a bit worried that the steel type's usual durability might work against it in another fight.

Jay chuckled. "Didn' think so," he replied back with an entertained smile. He would be sincerely surprised, the day he ran into an avid contest enthusiast outside of the general surroundings of a contest hall. He raised his eyebrows some when Felix added on that he actually did have some knowledge, though, looking a bit surprised at that, and then straightening some in interest as a thoughtful expression crossed his face. "Yeah? Don' s'pose ya see some've 'em here by chance?" he asked, his light smile returning, though it was a bit more quizzical. He wanted to sort of inquire about how Felix came upon this knowledge, but, he could at least actually see if he could get any of these berries first. Finish one thought before starting another, so to speak.
"Ya gotta pok'mon that can speak English?" he asked with some light interest. He thought he'd heard a sort of computerized before, but he wasn't sure if that was a pokemon or just a highly advanced bit of technology. His smile grew a bit. "Well I certainly wouldn' mind hearin' more 'bout it. Sure got no problem with unique traits," he replied back, smiling lightly, and knowingly. If he had any concept of the gesture, he probably would have tapped his head, or near his eyes, to indicate his reference, but... visual cues like that were understandably lost on him, in all ways. That said, while he might not have been as patient as his sister was with everything, he was adapt at listening through people's difficulties to just enjoy a conversation, regardless of what else might have been going on or hindering it. In this case, presumably a stutter, or maybe a lisp of some sort, though if it was the voice he'd heard earlier, he'd go with the first.
That said, they really needed to get out of there first. Get out of there, even though that was where the berries were. They could probably grab some on their way out, though, and in the meantime, they should at least start getting their things together. Once Felix recovered at least. "Do ya need a moment?" Jay asked, once the man had answered his question. It sounded like he was still having a hard time getting his breath, which was understandable. Even inhaling a bit of water could take some recovery, let along possibly inhaling mouthfuls. "My pok'mon can stand guard 'n make sure we don' get any more rampagin' pok'mon comin' in while you catch yer breath," he offered. It would also give them a bit more time to get their pokemon healed, and get whatever berries they might have needed or wanted.
He straightened up and stood to his full height as Felix got his pokemon together and recalled one of them, listening around to their surroundings. He could hear his pokemon splashing in the water, but he was also very much aware that there were definitely other pokemon around. His head turned as he heard one approach, but it seemed small, and it was near his pokemon, not Felix's so he didn't shout out a warning-- and it seemed one of his had already noticed it.
And, in fact, unbeknownst to him, knew it.
Chespin perked up from where he had been soaking and messing around in the water, looking over as a curious little pink pokemon waddled out. "STUFFUL!" With a shout, the grass starter practically flew from the water, tackling the pokemon with a bite attack. The stufful let out a help and flailed, but upon recognizing his assailant, struck back, with a vengeance. Chespin stumbled back, dizzy for a moment, before lunging out, and biting down again, finishing the pokemon off. He backed away, hands in the air in victory. "O-ow..." the stufful groaned, only semi-conscious but laying flat on the ground. "How'd you get so much stronger..." he muttered. "Apparently having a trainer does that. He's gonna help me evolve! I assume," the chespin decided, looking thoughtfully at the Stufful, "You should join us! Maybe then you'll finally evolve!" With that decided, he ran off, and... started climbing up Jay.
"What the--!?" Jay had heard his pokemon coming but hadn't expected it to climb up him, and was caught off guard when he found a heavy weight jerking him down. "What the hell!?" Jay turned and tried to shove him off, but the pokemon had already managed to fish through his backpack, and leap off, taking with him three pokeballs. "He just took pokeballs, Jay," Annie informed the trainer, who frowned in confusion. Jay listened, and Annie watched, as Chespin proceeded to hurl pokeballs at his friend, absolutely failing to catch him as the stufful flailed about and resisted the captures. This was a bizarre pokemon.... Was this what happened when starters were captured in the wild? Jay was pretty sure Todd had never been this bizarre, and he even had a unique past of his own, too.

Even though he had already figured out the ginger wouldn't be able to see it, Felix gave Jay a smile and a nod in response. "Yeah, several of them actually. Some common, a bunch that are rare," he replied before offering his and his pokemon's help in picking out some that the aspiring coordinator would find handy. When he was questioned about having a pokemon that could communicate with humans, Felix gave the other trainer another nod, more out of habit than anything else. "Yeah, a porygon. He's got a few bugs in his system, but he's reliable enough." That assurance seemed to be good enough for Jay, who commented that he was fine with a few oddities. Fair enough, considering the guy had a quirk of his own, although Felix considered being blind a bit more than a quirk. But it didn't seem to actually impact the other guy much, so Felix didn't bother outright commenting on it.
As it turned out, he didn't get much of an opportunity to, or explain further about his partner for that matter. A rampaging kangaskhan had knocked Felix and his skarmory into the water, nearly drowning the trainer. Surprisingly, the only ones really injured after the scuffle were the kangaskhan and Talon. Beyond the water he breathed in and the gouges in his clothing, Felix was essentially unharmed. He still needed to get his breathing back to normal, though, so although he responded to Jay's concern as best as he could, for a while the light-haired male was more focused on not coughing up organs every time he wanted to speak. When he thought he was ready, Felix agreed with Jay's sentiment that they should probably get moving, and even let the other trainer know, but apparently he sounded a lot worse than he had assumed. Well, some of those coughs had been rather deep and harsh, leaving Felix more than a bit winded afterwards, so maybe delaying a little longer wouldn't hurt.
After a bit more consideration of Jay's offer to rest a little longer, Felix frowned. "...Yeah, seems I'm gonna need it," the trainer reluctantly agreed before alerting the pokemon he had out and recalling Talon. Zelse could stay out because of his ability and size, but it seemed in this world the skarmory's steel typing and large size were a detriment to the pokemon's health. Just because the bird was willing to take hits for him, that didn't necessarily mean Felix wanted Talon to keep getting beat up. The trainer might have been a blunt a*****e towards his pokemon at times, but he actually did care about them. He just couldn't afford to show it during jobs, since things like nicknames and . With Talon healed and tucked away, Felix pulled out his pokedex and knelt down in front of Glitch, patting the porygon with one hand while holding out the pokedex with the other. With a pleased "Po-ory~" the digital pokemon bunted its trainer's hand with its head before converting itself back into data and transferring itself back into its usual resting place. As much as both would rather the porygon stayed out to assist Felix in the event of another wild pokemon attack, if Glitch was going to do any chatting it needed to be in a device with a speaker.
With his pokemon settled for the time being, Felix stood back up. At the same time, Glitch's voice rang out from the old pokedex the trainer held. "Apo-ologies for not introdu-u-ucing myself ear-r-r-rlier. I am a-a porygon desig-ig-ignated 'Glitch' by my tr-trainer," the digital pokemon announced through the device's speaker. "I would be plea-ea-eased to assi-ist you in selecting berr-rr-rr-rries suitable for produ-uction of contest-related confect-ect-ections." It was certainly a nicer way to spend an afternoon than some of the things the digital pokemon did. Assuming it was actually afternoon. It might have looked like it, but this was some sort of dream world so there was no guarantee that the apparent time of day within the dream would correspond to the time of day in the waking world.
Since it seemed the two trainers were in agreement about waiting for a little while, Felix figured he might as well do what he offered to and helped Jay pick out some berries that would be useful for contests. And boy were there a lot to pick from. Even without including the half-dozen or so kinds that were usually standard fare at contest halls - spelon, watmel, and the like - there were many such as liechi and apicot that not only provided small stat boosts to weakened pokemon, but also gave a variety of strong flavors that made them fairly useful for contests. Assuming trainers bothered to try growing them, since they were on the difficult side to care for. There were even some berries that were nearly impossible to find, so Felix was quick to cut a few of them off of their trees. Just a few, though. He tried to avoid taking too many from any one tree, since this place was supposed to be somewhere a lot of pokemon flocked to for water. Thus, it was likely most of them snacked on these berries while they were here, so being too greedy would cause more problems than the trainer wanted. Meanwhile, since Felix still had a bit of a coughing problem, Glitch was more than happy to provide Jay with an explanation for any berries he was curious about. Of course, that meant Felix kept having to scan the berries Jay wanted information on so that Glitch could 'see' them from inside the dex, since even though there wasn't any information on them inside the device itself, it at least gave the porygon a picture so that it could use its own knowledge to give a reply.
While the trainers were berry-picking, it seemed that another wild pokemon had wandered in. It was another one of those weird bears that looked more like a stuffed toy than an actual living creature. Almost as soon as it entered the clearing, it was attacked by Jay's chespin. Felix winced a bit, but not out of sympathy for the stufful. No, the trainer was actually a bit worried that his own chespin might be as... rambunctious as the one that beat up and then tried to capture the brown and pink pokemon. "Guess you got yourself a bit of a handful there," the trainer commented, his voice sounding quite a bit better now that some time had passed. An appropriately-timed snort startled Felix, and the trainer quickly turned to see what had made the noise. He was still tense when he saw that it was the downed kangaskhan that had let out the snort, apparently still out cold but more asleep than unconscious at this point. "...I think I'm okay enough to find a new spot now," the trainer offered, more of a hint that they should probably find a new place to check for berries. Preferably before the kangaskhan woke up.

Jay was honestly interested, surprised, and curious about Felix's feedback, both in regards to the berries, as well as his pokemon that he mentioned. For one, the abundance of berries was curious. The smell suggested as much, but still, to find some of the more rare ones growing here... no wonder this place was so popular with the wild pokemon. Which admittedly, would have been pretty good under different circumstances-- after all, Jay had been slacking a bit in actually fulfilling some pokedex promises. Heck, he was surprised Al hadn't messaged him to pester him about that, given it was a family friend that had urged him to help with that sort of thing. And he had a feeling that family friend was able to also track his progress and converse with his family about it... Yikes. Maybe he should cut down in the naps, ignoring that was how he was here now.
Aside from the berries, though, Jay was also curious about the porygon that Felix mentioned. He hadn't encountered one of those since he was a child, and even then, he'd been incredibly young, and the memories were hazy at best. He hadn't had a solid grasp of his echolocation at the time, either, so any impression from the pokemon was almost purely emotional and child-like. He smiled a bit at the idea of getting to meet another one, though, but it seemed that was all going to have to wait as Felix and one of his other pokemon were knocked into the water, and the group was given some unfortunate motivation to start moving on. It was too bad, this location was great, with its healing waters, training opportunities, and berries, but they could always move along and find somewhere else, where it was perhaps a little less dangerous.
That said, Felix seemed to need some time to recover, which they at least agreed on, and the two settled in to start getting ready to head out once a proper break had been achieved for the man and his pokemon. Jay turned his head as he heard a chirrup from a pokemon -- which after a moment, and with a smile, he realized was the porygon -- but raised his eyebrows some as he heard some sort of odd, electronic sound, and felt a strange sort of current from the man. Maybe he was fidgeting with some sort of device? Seemed similar to what Jay had just experienced in such situations, though his eyebrows rose a bit as a stuttering voice spoke up a moment later. Honestly, Jay wasn't too familiar with a lot of specific pokemon, even those he'd encountered in the past, let alone how they interacted with technology, but it seemed that somehow, the porygon was using something to speak through. That was honestly pretty fascinating for the ginger-- all his pokemon had communicated just through telepathy, either personally, or through a teammates abilities to translate for them.
"Well, s'nice ta meet you, Glitch. 'N I appreciate yer willin'ness to help me with this. Usin' my other senses can only get me so far searchin' fer berries, 'specially given I ain't all that familiar with them to begin with," he admitted, having waited patiently for the pokemon to finish his greeting. The help certainly paid off-- as Jay moved around, working some with Felix, and a lot with Glitch, he was able to actually gather quite a few berries, a lot of which had some decent usage in contests, from what he understood. PJ would probably better be able to identify and put them to use, but still. And hey, maybe he could message Sebs and see if he was interested, when he eventually woke up and got out of this strange dream world. Assuming all of this translated... it did occur to him that it was entirely possible that they would gather all these things, and then lose them in the transition to the waking world, but given how other things had related between worlds, it was worth a shot. Plus, it was a learning opportunity, regardless.
Taking care to try and identify and associate the smell and feel of each berry to its name and qualities, Jay carefully inventoried them and put them away. Just about in time, too, as something heavy suddenly tugged on him after the sound of pattering footsteps. He hadn't heard the pokemon entering from the area, so he hadn't bothered giving it much concern, but he also hadn't expected it to suddenly jump on him, either. He was able to gather it was his recently caught Chespin, an that it took some pokeballs, thanks to Annie, but still, what the hell? He adjusted his bag and rubbed his shoulder a bit as he recovered, frowning, and turning his head towards Felix as he commented. "Mm... Yeah, guess so. Maybe I oughta try and train 'em so I can loose 'em back in the wild 'fore he ends up tacklin me all the way to the ground," he joked, before rolling his shoulders up, and straightening. He gave a slight click of his tongue to get an idea of his surroundings, and also turned towards the snort. It took him a moment to identify it, and Felix's wary comment seemed to confirm.
"Mm, good idear. C'mon y'all, let's get goin'," he called over to the other pokemon, making sure his things were set, and waiting for them to join him. Chespin was still trying to harass his friend, but begrudgingly gave up when he noticed his teammates, and new trainer, were starting to head off. Rowlet at least waited for him, but she did so with a look that suggested she expected him to pick up his feet, and not dawdle more than he already had. Annie wasn't exactly the fastest, either, but, he and Lee headed over to walk alongside their trainer as well. "So how long have you been here, anyway?" he asked Felix, "I'm guessin' not long enough to get an idea of the surroundin's?" They should only be so lucky. And Jay wasn't a good 'big picture' guy given echoes got a little obscured by objects and distance, so he wasn't too sure what the layout around them was, either.

Between Felix being willing to point out some harder to find berries and Glitch just being a digital fount of knowledge the group collected a significant number of strong-tasting berries for Jay. Felix even got several interesting berries for himself, although, once he looked it over, his pile was far larger than the man had intended. He was pretty sure he had only cut only half that number from the trees around the area. A light snicker made the trainer turn his head and gave him a small hint to the culprit. Zelse seemed to have found a basket from somewhere and was trying to hide the bulk of his amusement as he scooped berries into the wicker container. Felix let out a light sigh and knelt down near the froakie. "Okay, but no more from here. Leave some for the rest of the pokemon," the trainer lightly scolded as he helped the water frog pack most of the berries into the basket. Felix honestly had no idea where it could have come from, but it was here now so they might as well make use of it.
Jay's chespin provided another distraction for Felix, one that the trainer would normally find amusing. However, it reminded the man of his own grass starter, and more specifically that he hadn't let the little guy out to check his temperament yet. Or the fennekin, for that matter. He had been intending to focus on Zelse first and make sure the froakie wasn't going to turn on him before trying to persuade the other two to accept him as their trainer. Based on what data Glitch had on their personalities, the whole trio seemed like they were going to be a handful, so it was with a bit of hypocritical humor that Felix pointed out the rambunctious nature of the ginger's own grass type. Jay took the comment in good humor and suggested he aught to get the pokemon trained up quick so he could turn them loose before something happened. "Feel that might backfire a bit," the man teased back, but before he could say anything more a loud snort immediately shut him up. Thankfully the kangaskhan was still out cold, but it sobered Felix up enough that the man decided he had recovered plenty and suggested the two move. Jay agreed, and once Zelse was once again perched on his trainer's head while the ginger's pokemon followed their own trainer, the duo went off to check out more of the forest.
While the two walked, Jay verbally poked Felix with a few questions. Mostly about how long the tan-haired man had been in the area. "I... don't think I've been here very long." Was he? He couldn't have been aware for more than a few hours at most. But how long had he been passed out under that tree before actually becoming conscious? Or had he been wandering around but not actually aware of it, like how things usually went in dreams, and only recently gained control of his own actions in this world? That was actually something rather unnerving to think about. "Near as I can tell, I've only been 'awake' for a few hours, probably less," he elaborated, hopefully before Jay caught on to his initial hesitation, or at least before the silence grew too uncomfortable. Felix let out another chuckle as the ginger rightly guessed that Felix wasn't really aware of what else was in this place yet. "Nope, sorry. So far all I've checked out are the clearing I woke up in and this part of the forest. I think I noticed another section, but it looked a bit too 'cloaked in darkness' for my liking." No, after whatever happened wherever he was that put him here in the first place - probably some ghost or psychic type put him under or something - the last thing he wanted to go somewhere that looked like some sort of haunted forest.

"I'll wrap up Sable first," I tell myself. "It won't take long at all," I tell myself. Nearly a week later I'm having to split it into two parts because it's over 1.3k words long! And it's still not done! DX
This woman was... strange. Of course, there was nothing wrong with that! And, perhaps, rather than 'strange', Naomi should've called her 'quirky'; maybe she wasn't even real, and just a part of the dream. It was hard to tell. "Hm?" A bit confused at her greeting, it took Naomi a few seconds to connect his clothes to her nickname, and with the realization came a soft laugh -- and the sudden desire to correct her. He opened his mouth, prepared to launch into an explanation in the difference between a kimono -- which was the 'average' clothing a samurai usually wore -- and a yukata, when he caught himself. This wasn't the time for a history/style lesson, unfortunately, there were more pressing matters to attend to. Her mention of a 'simulation' was concerning, and only brought up more questions than answers; not a minute into their conversation, and he was already more confused than when he'd first approached her.
Naomi shifted Ieyasu in his arms, then with his free hand pressed it against his cheek. He was at a loss for what to do from here, and it certainly didn't help that the white-haired woman was now off in her own world, apparently the two of them had that in common! He rocked back onto his heels, still debating on what action to take, before casting a look back at Rotom for his opinion. At this point, deferring to the pokemon had become secondhand, as highly opinionated as he was, he was also informative. Alas, the pokemon wouldn't be of help this time around, though only because he was no longer in the last place he'd seen him. Naomi's eyes dilated, partially in concern and partially in confusion, but a quick look around revealed that Rotom was simply tailing behind Mori, who was still keeping up his bodyguard position. That was reassuring.
But, that meant he'd have to take the lead on this. Which was, fine, he was perfectly capable of continuing a conversation, he'd just never been the one to have to redirect it back; that was usually the other way around. "My name is Naomi Shimizu," he introduced, and raised his voice to do so, in the hopes that this would help put them back on track. "If neither of us is sure of how we got here," Not counting the woman's theory on her mother being involved, "Then maybe we can discuss the last thing we each remember before arriving here -- if you are willing, of course." That seemed like a 'responsible' suggestion to offer, and when Naomi glanced down at Ieyasu for confirmation the Eevee nodded his head slowly (he still wasn't used to Naomi understanding his speech, nor was he comfortable with it).
That was enough for Naomi to be assured.
Meanwhile, as Naomi attempted to coax the stranger into further conversation, Moriyoshi kept with his border patrol. He'd have much preferred to take advantage of the environment, perhaps find a particularly comfortable patch of grass and curl in for a nap in the sun, but Naomi had appeared particularly frazzled when he'd explained the current situation to him and Tomoe. Aggressive pokemon whose moves had the opposite typing effect, which was code for: something is wrong here, while Mori wasn't going to go as far as to consider his trainer a liar, he couldn't help but think he was exaggerating just a tad. That being said, Ieyasu had looked uncharacteristically tired, while Naomi had explained this -- of course, that had been well over ten minutes ago, and by this point the Eevee had, more or less, regained some of his energy -- so, the very least he could do was walk along the area, and keep an eye out.
It'd be easy to do, especially when he had another set of eyes directly above him. Mori wasn't sure why Rotom was following him around, but he wasn't going to question or complain about it either. Not if this arrangement benefited him. Which, so far, it had. Rotom had been quiet, and the few times he hadn't it'd only been to point out evidence that a pokemon had recently been in the area, or a curious object. Like now. "It's a big mushroom," Rotom explained, as the two stared down at the spotted fungi. "Obviously." Came Mori's response. Rotom rolled his eyes, but continued his explanation. "They're uncommon, and supposedly give pokemon a power-up of sorts. You can sell them for a decent price at a market, or to some desperate trainer."
Mori narrowed his eyes at the mushroom, trying to decipher how a plant could give a pokemon any sort of power-up, other than grass types of course. "What kind of 'power-up' are we talking about here?" he questioned, the skepticism clear in his voice. Mori's ears twitched as he became aware of electricity crackling in the air, but remained indifferent and chalked it up to Rotom's frustration, now audible. "I don't know. I've never tried it myself. If you haven't noticed, I've spent to majority of my life inside of an electronic." There was an edge to his voice, but after a moment it dissipated with an exhale. "I'm not forcing you to try it. I was just pointing it out," he concluded, before physically moving away from the conversation, and Mori. The Torracat was left to continue staring at the big mushroom, but after a moment of silence he bent down to bite the cap off (he didn't have to everything, stem and all, did he?), then quickly chewed and swallowed it before he he had time to rethink his decision. Afterwards he gagged, how others managed to eat was far beyond him, before shaking his head.
It better have been worth it.
Thankfully, he had the opportunity to test out the new power-up when a... gray blob of a pokemon showed up. Just as Naomi had said, the pokemon showed immediate signs of aggression, and Mori just barely managed to slide in an attack. The pokemon reared back, opening a small window of opportunity, and Mori jumped at it, and the pokemon, and swiped his tongue over its face, right between the eyes. The weather took a turn for the warmer once the pokemon had gathered its bearing -- much to Mori's chagrin, why of all times would that sun-bathed nap become more tempting? -- which prompted him to sink his incisors into the pokemon's soft body. In his haste to attack, however, Mori had failed to recognize the pokemon had shifted forms, at least not before he suddenly found himself burning. With a yowl of pain the cat jerked himself back, and shook himself back and forth in an instinctive attempt to cool his body. Narrowed eyes fell onto the blob, which now sported a patch of orange and a sun-esque headdress, before he lunged forward. This time, as he bit down, flames erupted from his maw and coated the side of the pokemon's head.
Mori shook the pokemon back and forth, before unceremoniously spitting it out and watching it quickly retreat back into the treeline. Steam was still pouring off of Moriyoshi when Rotom approached, and made his presence known with an electronic cough. He turned around, his annoyance masking the pain he felt, then began stalking back to Naomi after Rotom tilted his head in the human's direction.

Jay grinned a bit at Felix's comeback on that. That was true, admittedly, but Jay had a bit of a backup plan. "What, you think my other pok'mon wouldn' defend li'l ol' me?" he playfully jabbed back, and if gestures had any meaning to him, he probably would have placed his hand on his chest. Instead, however, his hands simply remained resting in his pockets. "'N here, I thought I could count on even you as a li'l back up, if'n it came to it." He was joking, of course. The two had only met, but at least they were on agreement on things so far-- such as taking a break, gathering berries, and at the snort from the kanghaskan, getting a move on.
Once everyone was gathered up, he started on along with Felix, though he moved more slowly, one hand sort of held out, with each footstep working as a careful sweep so he didn't trip. He also had Lee back on his shoulder, and though he didn't have her clicking for him, he did click his tongue here and there to try and get an impression of the echoes. This world still gave strange feedback, but, he was starting to adapt well enough. Annie crawled along the grass up ahead, while Chespin and Rowlet trailed behind, and Jay recalled Archen, for the time being. He didn't need him flying off, or losing track of someone with too many pokemon out and about.
Jay didn't quite miss the hesitation in Felix's response, especially given that vocal cues were like his thing, but he also tried not to read into it too much, either. He just kind of noted it, as a general thing to keep in mind going forward, just in case. This place was weird, after all-- it was possible it was just some general uncertainty given the overall situation, and how unfamiliar it was. "Mm... Didju wake up here in the forest?" he queried, continuing to walk, and carefully moving around a tree that he caught on to a liiiittle closer to than he would have liked. Felix's next statement answered his question, though and he bowed his head some in thought. Sounded a bit like they'd had the same experience, then. "Cloaked in 'darkness', huh? Funny expression," he remarked, smiling some. Those sorts of phrases always got him. There were a lot of turns of phrases and word plays that had to do with visual cues that he never got, but he'd sort of learned to just roll with it or let it run off his shoulders. He found amusement in it, ultimately. "Not a fun of the spooks and thrills, I take it?" he added, guessing that was sort of what Felix meant with that particular description. It sounded like something someone would use to describe a typical haunted house, which was another thing Jay missed out on a bit. The only thing he got with places like that were certain vibes, once he started getting closer, and the surrounds that came from and around them.

Eline's mind often wandered when it come to things that confounded her. This world was just one of many things that she'd yet to figure out the in's and out's of, but as of recently she wasn't alone in her confusion. At least when it came to another human approaching. A young man, dressed in seemingly traditional clothes which Eline mistook for being the dress of a samurai. Needless to say he didn't seem entirely bothered by Eline's mind wandering. Inkaria clutched her pipe between her teeth taking in a slow drag before blowing the smoke out with a shake of her head. This may end up being awkward. Lithium hadn't been with Eline long enough to know the in's and out's of her current trainer, but perhaps a quick little pinch would bring the white and black-haired woman back down to earth with the rest of them. With a grin, she flicked some of loose strands of hair, which sent a small shock of dark power through the ground and up nipped at Eline's ankle. The scientist broke from her thoughts to look down at her ankle, only for Naomi's voice to fill the sudden silence in her head. "Hu-oh!" Eline straightened up and turned back towards the male with a smile. Holding a hand back to her chin it didn't take long for Eline to recall what she was doing before arriving here. "Could it be a self-induced coma? No, I don't believe I would of received any trauma to my head." Eline muttered in response before shaking her head once more. "There are many theories one could use in this situation." Finally her brain started to focus more on the adjacent human than on their seemingly shared situation. "I am Eline, by the way. Eline Tipolzine if you want to be formal, but I don't really care what you call me, Samurai." There was light-hearted chuckle following her second use of that nickname. Eline, for all her intelligence in science was not entirely a history buff... far from it. She was progressive in her thoughts, what is old should be replaced. Though she's a kind enough person as to not outwardly demand people abolish tradition, this including old-style clothes. She herself wasn't your typical science nerd as far as attire went. What with her custom lab coat, black shorts, Fish net stockings and half-and-half hair-style.
"As for what I was doing before waking up in this place, I was in the midst of being attacked. I believe my attackers used some sort of sleeping gas to knock myself out, along with a few others I was currently sharing a campfire with." Eline stated, going back to the previous question prior to when introductions were needed. This drudged up more questions in her mind. What were they doing to her? Did they take her someplace? Where was Karliah and her 'homies?' Had she spelled doom for those not involved her mother's maniacal plots? It was quickly replacing her attention span, but luckily the two humans shared yet another similarity.
From behind them, a washing machine of all things came barreling through the air towards the group. As odd an occurrence as that was, perhaps it was typical for some people's dreams. Though not far from the group the washing machine stopped and from the washing machine's top section a face appeared. Two bright blue eyes over a triangular shaped smile. 'E-e-e-li-li-line. Who-o-o a-a-re-re the-e-e-ese pe-e-e-pole-el-el.' The glitchy Rotom spoke up, it's gaze flickering between Naomi and the various Pokemon that followed nearby the ghost seemed to sense or at the very least feel another Rotom nearby. Not only this, but Sulfur joined the party as well, join at Eline's side with a stretch before he ventured to a patch of grass to sunbathe. Titanium and Mercury were not far behind, but both seemed taken in by a patch of flowers that grew between the treeline and the lake.
Eline turned to address Neon first and foremost. "Well it appears we are not alone after all." Eline voiced. Whether Naomi was a figure within the dream or in fact another real human was yet to be addressed, not that it really needed to be. Neon plopped his washing-machine body down on the ground, then zipped free of it's shell before zipping into Eline's bag that rested nearby to appear a moment later back in his Pokedex body. A much smaller and easier to control body to hold interactions with for the time being.
Meanwhile, off in the far reaches of the forest Nobelium and Fluorine made their way through the vast seemingly endless landscape. Fluorine had taken to the air to scan the tree tops as well as keep an eye on the large tree in the distance that which could lead them back to Eline. Though the bird had thus far noticed something odd about the size of the tree... it wasn't changing. As the world is round, when once gets further away from something the smaller it appears, as they are going over the curvature of the world. However, the tree wasn't getting any small the further it seemed they were going away from it. Realizing this, Fluorine flew down to join Nobelium who had stopped to stare at a tree. "I think there is a problem, Nobel." Fluorine voiced as she landed with elegance on a tree branch. "Indeed. We've been going around in circles haven't we?" The canine-form Zygarde replied. Fluorine puffed up her feathers slightly. "I don't believe so. It's more like we're on a treadmill." The bird replied. Nobelium took in a deep breath then stood up and quickly made a deep wound in the side of the tree. His plan obviously was to use the bread-crumb method as they continued onward, but before that plan could be put into action there was a bright sparkling light that caught both of their attentions. Curious Fluorine flew from one branch to another branch closer to the light. "Oh?" The bird mused. Nobelium ventured over rather curious about Fluorine's reaction. What he found was a small white and green Pichu clutching a stick. Lowering his nose to check if it was still alive a scent cross ed his nose. The pro of being in his canine-like form, his sense of smell was 10x the norm from his other forms. "Radium?" Nobelium muttered. "Is that truly her?" Fluorine mused, fluttering down to the ground to rest beside the Pichu. "Smells like her, though her colours have changed it does certainly appear to be her." Nobelium explained. Lowering his nose he began to nudge the Pichu in hopes of waking it up.

As much as Felix wanted to continue the chain of comments, he and Jay really needed to move on. That kangaskhan wasn't going to stay unconscious forever and it seemed like the pokemon was already starting to recover. Their fun little conversation would have to wait until the duo moved on from this spot. A shame, too, since Felix was enjoying his banter with the other trainer. Far too often the thief's contacts were all business with no pleasure, and the few times someone did crack a joke the implications were... unsettling. Especially when those jokes were at his expense. It was nice to have someone he could mess with and get teased by in return, even if it was only for a little while. After all, this was a dream, and regardless of whether this Jay guy was real or not (at the very least, he seemed more real than the rest of this strange world), Felix would have to wake up eventually. Or move on to a different dream, that was an option too.
The tan-haired trainer let out a soft chuckle when Jay commented on his choice of words being 'funny'. Right. Felix hadn't exactly forgotten about the other trainer's little oddity, he just didn't really have a better way to describe the other section of forest. "Heh, sorry. Wasn't curious enough to find out if it felt as cold as it looked," he replied jokingly, in effect if not in intent. He really hadn't wanted to go investigate a perpetually dark forest to see what was further down the path, mostly because of his... current? Past? Whenever it happened, the predicament that ended up in Felix wandering this dream world to begin with. The trainer let out another chuckle when Jay prodded at his concerns, although this one sounded a bit more forced. "Yeah, well, given where I fell asleep, I've probably got enough scares waiting when I wake up. Not really in the mood to have them in my dreams, too." It wasn't the most informative explanation, but Felix hoped it was enough of one to get the point across.
"Sir!""Hm?" Glitch's exclaimation caught the trainer off guard for a moment, but that didn't keep him from checking the pokedex the porygon was comfortably resting inside. "What's up?" Felix asked as he held the dex. "Apologie-gie-gie-gies for the interru-u-u-u-u-u-uption. I thought you would l-l-like to know that Da-a-a-aemon is well-rested a-and anxious to be le-e-e-et out," the porygon stammered. Felix let out a light sigh at the news and gave the device a small smile. "Alright, I'll let him out in a moment," he assured the digital pokemon, then put his other hand to his chin as he stared at the pokedex. "Put Ooze on standby for now. This isn't exactly the best environment to heal him in.""Yes s-sir!" After a few short beeps, the porygon chirped out a simple "Done!" and Felix tucked the pokedex back into his pocket as he continued onward.
