She maybe said some other stuff, but Alex only heard the part where she was totally daring him to slap a hand down that bright shiny shell. Eyeing up the situation for juuuust the right opportunity, he re-engaged the talk-like-a-normal-person part of his brain.
"Vesti..." Alex screwed up his face a second. He didn't know the word, but it made him think of "vetibule", and now he was thinking about weird brain-organs on the outside of people's heads and that would be gross and- Oh right. Talking. He should probably get back to doing that.
At least Az seemed to be on board, once he properly explained everything. "Yeah, right!?" Sometimes back at home, sleeping had been much better than being awake. "Though, recently, I think I've liked being awake better." He chuckled a bit nervously, but it became a bit more genuine as he answered, (unconsciously replacing "Fabio" with the obviously correct name of "Fabian" ), "It's normal for stuff and people in real life to be in dreams. So you don't have to worry about me." He still liked getting to be the expert on something. He puffed up when Az recognized this.
Alex was all set to peel off toward the mountains when Az held him back. "Huh?" She reached over and- "Wh-haha~! He jumped just a little bit when she pinched him, but laughed as if it had tickled. "Oh. Huh. Yeah." Alex knew that sometimes you could get hurt in dreams and not wake up, but if the pinching made Az feel better he wasn't going to say anything. With a big grin, he started hopping backwards towards the beach. "C'mon then! It's been ages since I've been to the beach!" He of course had no ******** clue their sleeping bodies were on their way to Alola, aka Beach City.
Running backwards as he was, Alex probably should have fallen over. Instead, he seemed to bounce, just a little bit, into the air with each step, a little like walking on the moon. An extra push sent him up a bit higher, until he was bouncing into cartwheels in the air and laughing. He'd gotten so caught up, he'd completely forgotten about trying to pet Jasmine.

Skia woke up and knew she must be dreaming. After all she knew where she went to sleep and definitely wasn't expecting a giant tree. She looked over and saw her Pokemon asleep also. She picked up Tippy-toes. "Wake up Tippy, we seem to have been trapped in a dream world" Tippy woke up and was just as surprised as Skia was.
The two walked around for a little bit just so they could see if they could see anything else. "We might have to travel a little bit double T, I say we go that way" she pointed out towards the horizon. "Last gather the team" she went back to where her Pokemon lie sleeping and returned all of them to their respective Poke Ball. She then returned each Ball to her belt. "Come on Tippy-toes, we need to get a move on before we wake up."
She huffed as she pretended to tighten her bag on her shoulders as if it weighed far more than it did. They walked and they walked but never seem to get anywhere. The roots just seemed to stay in place and there seemed to be nothing she could do. "Maybe this is like a puzzle Tips" she started to climb up on one of the giant roots creating an arch above the ground. "Super Pachirisu Climbing skills go" like usual she didn't have super powers, but it motivated her none the less. Tippy-toes even jumped off her shoulder and climbed up. Once Skia made it up the arch shaped root Tippy-toes climbed back on her shoulder. She looked and absorbed her surrounding. Turns out they had made some good distance between where they had started. It was just that the roots tangled far, very far. Seems this whole world seemed to be connected to the tree somehow and all she could think about was the maze before them.
"Krrrrrt" she mimicked a radio sound on her shoulder. "Special Agent Double T this is the Trainer SG. Over." Tippy-toes sauluted and spoke "Pachi Pachi Pachirisu Pachi. Risu." No one would ever know if she really could understand what the Electric Type was saying, but Skia sure did seem convinced she did. "Seems we have a real scenic route ahead, I think it would be well advised to take a faster detour. Copy" she continued the ruse untill she launched herself up in the air as if taking a huge jump. She unfortunately did not realize just how high and far she was jumping. She nearly flew a hundred yards forward. It definitely caught her by surprise as she had to reach out and grab Tips just so she wouldn't lose her. "Wow, sorry double T. I was definitely not expecting that." she waved a hand in the air like it was hot and she looked at Tippy-toes. "Looks like I can jump pretty far here so you might want to hold on tight." Tippy-toes grabbed onto Skia's jacket "Risu." It was her way of letting Skia know when was ready to go.
She snaked all throughout the roots till the ground started to change. Soon even the root started to change. It seemed to have ice and some snow, as well as no live growth. The root on the other hand had snow on it but still seemed to be pushing strong. She could see in the distance what seemed to be a massive overhang that had many parts of the root knotted all the way up the cliff face. Something seemed off however. "What do you think Tips? Should we?" she sounded both equally parts confident and unsure so it was a hard call for the Pachirisu. "Pachirisu Pach Pach I Pach, Pachirisu Pachirisu Pachirisu Risu" Skia blinked, and brought an excited fist out in front of her. ""Your right, what kind of adventure would it be if we can't say "We came, We saw, and we kicked loads of butt" she waited for Tippy-toes to hold on and then she took off towards the knot.
As they got closer the roots started to show less and less. Even more surprising, they seemed to just reappear on the cliff side. The most surprising of all though was that the knot was eccentric but eerily symmetric. It came down and created what appeared to be an entrance way into a cave. There was on the less creepy side a sign out front. Skia walked up to the sign ready to launch herself back towards the roots at any sign of danger. "Welcome to the maze known as Icy Cave" she read it "All may enter and all may accept the challenge but not all can solve and survive the puzzles held deep inside." at the bottom of the sign she could see a sticker that said prize inside. "See that T, prize inside. Can't be that scary" she joked with the Electric Type. "Pachirisu" it responded, "Right we have to weigh our options" she responded. "On one hand we have chance to win a prize from a very dangerous possibly endless maze. Then on other hand we can turn around with our tails between our legs and head back where we came from. As both chickens and cowards." she and Tippy-toes made eye contact, nodded, and walked past the sign.
They walked past another sign that had been knocked down and covered by dirt. From what she could read it said "-ed en- t-n b-ck." She assumed it said dead end turn back, but she assumed this was one last deterrent to those who were not quite sure if they wanted to take the challenge. No way she was gonna stop for it though. Nuh ugh, not after Tippy-toes had enough confidence to say they should do it. She stopped just outside the entrance to look in her bag for something that might help. Drat no flashlight, but she did have her Rotomphone. She grabbed it and pressed a couple buttons before, BAM! Let there be light she thought, and the light is good.

Ajicka's eyes opened, and she found herself standing in a grassy field. Huh.... Weird. She'd figured she would dream about battling or something, considering how much that had consumed her. Maybe this was a metaphor for taking a break now that she was champion? Oorrrr.... Those whispers she'd been hearing were true.
She looked around, hands in her pockets as she took in her surroundings. She heard a lot of talk in the pokecenter about trainers goinng to sleep and not waking up-- or if they did, it wasn't until a long time had passed, and they came out of it talking about crazy stories, and even possessing new items and pokemon that she had dreamed about. Pretty crazy, but if she'd learned anything, it was that anything was possible with pokemon. Hell, she'd been quick to find a bed just to lay down and test it out of curiosity. Seemed there might have been some merit, after all. Then again, this could have all been from her expectation, too.
She started walking, towards a chilled mountain, while playing mental games with the world around her. She wanted to see if she could fabricate her pokemon with her, and just how much control she had over this place... .

"....ster.... Ma...…er…. Master!" Osma gently shook Lakshmi's body, and their soft jade eyes slowly opened to the familiar sight of the tree of dreams blooming high above their heads. "Osma… I apologize. It seems I misjudged the situation..." They sighed, but Osma shook his head. "No master, the fault is mine. You asked me to be prepared and I failed to protect you." He bowed deeply, and Lakshmi couldn't help but chuckle. Were they really going to quarrel over something so silly? "It is in the past now. Let us move forward." Lakshmi insisted, patting the Lucario on the head and slowly getting to their feet. They were thankfully quite familiar with the dream world, able to enter it willingly through training their mind, body, and spirit. They often envisioned themselves walking through the dream world during their meditation, but even Lakshmi had to admit that this felt more... Vivid than they remembered.
Perhaps it was because they'd been knocked unconscious this time by that unruly chimchar. That was careless of them. They had prepared for the worst and yet, it seemed that the dark aura of a shadow pokemon had ultimately been too overwhelming for the two aura readers. They had never experienced anything like it before, and it was truly shocking to witness first hand. No amount of reading could have properly prepared them for such darkness and pain. However, now Lakshmi was more determined than ever to help cleanse the poor chimchar's aura. He had to wonder though, what caused the chimchar to be this way? Shadow auras did not occur naturally. They manifested when pokemon were subjected to tragedy, torment, or pain.
The experiments created to fully close a pokemon's heart were unspeakable acts. Yet, as far as Lakshmi knew, none of the research from Orre survived to this day, much less traveled to Sinnoh. Or, at the very least, Lakshmi prayed that this was not the case. "O divine arceus, I pray that you may lead me on the path to cleanse the lost souls of your children...." Lakshmi bowed their head, giving the quiet prayer as both a plea for help and to help them find the strength to face such terrifying darkness again when they regained consciousness. When they were finished with the prayer, Lakshmi turned their attention back to Osma. "What happened after I was knocked unconscious?" They asked curiously. "The chimchar fled. I would have given chase master, but I did not want to leave you unconscious on the ground." Lakshmi could sense their partner's shame and torn sense of duty, and placed a reassuring hand on the Lucario's shoulder. "Thank you, my friend. I am glad you remained by my side. When I awake, we can locate the chimchar. Not to worry. With an aura like that, I am certain we will be able to find it in no time. We will simply have to be more careful during the next confrontation." They insisted.
Getting into a meditative position, they breathed deeply, in through the nose, and out through the mouth, focusing on every part of their body starting from the tips of their toes and slowly inching upwards. By feeling their body in the moment, their consciousness would know that this dream state was just that; a dream. When that was realized, Lakshmi focused, and then willed themselves to wake up on the material plane.

If Scott was being honest, this was all too much for him. Being randomly transported or teleported or whatever was too much for his young brain. He just wanted to go back to what made sense. The person in front of him was speaking but for some reason the words seemed all jumbled up in his head. He was sure the guy in front of him was talking and talking to him specifically, but hell if Scott knew what the man was saying. Why was that Wigglytuff glaring at him like that. He didn’t do anything wrong. At least… not as far as he knew. ”Sorry…. What was that about a pokedex? What do you want me to look up?” he mumbled, reaching up to press the heel of his palm up against the side of his head. ”I didn’t quite catch your name. Bush, was it? Brush? Crush?” He shook his head. ”I’m Scott, and are you feeling a little dizzy? I’ve got this sudden banging in my head and I don’t think is normal? Where are we? I don’t know. I just fell asleep, I think, and…”
Scott swayed for a moment, his eyes dipping shut for a brief second, and only when he thought he finally stabilized himself on his own two feet did he suddenly fall back with a thump. Knocked out cold. What a weird dream.

From different places, JR and Trey somehow saw the figure at the same time. Then again, it wasn't too hard to notice-- it was clear, just outside the border of some nearby trees, but glowed with a faint blue light. It was looking directly at Trey, but swept a piercing gaze towards JR, and there was a ring of familiarity for both of them. Trey didn't hesitate to start moving, Cherish in his arms, and even without noticing the other, JR felt inclined to move in the same direction. He turned, prepared to bid farewell to the young man, but raised an eyebrow when he noticed he seemed a bit... pale.And off. Like he was fighting dizziness. And by the words he was saying, he got the impression the guy was really out of it. Which was strange, given he was pretty sure this world was some sort of dream state. If he didn't know any better, he would think the guy was about to-- oop.
JR raised his eyebrows as the young man passed right on out, and looked down at him, before glancing over at the pokemon staring back at him. He glanced between the two, before rolling his eyes. "Arc Dammit. Sorry kid," he muttered, casting one last look at poor Scott, before turning on his heel to head towards the pokemon. It turned as it noticed him approaching, and slipped into the trees, but something about it's fluid, calm movements felt instructional, not fleeing. And as he approached, he noticed a familiar figure going into the woods.
"You noticed it too, huh?" JR remarked, coming up along Trey from behind, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah," was the simple, muttered response, as the other narrowed his eyes into the darkness of the forest. JR raised his eyebrows. "Oohh, you're talking? Dream come true," he remarked with a smirk, earning a very unimpressed side-glare from the teen. He shrugged, but looked ahead. There was a fleeting blue light leading them on, darting between trees, but always reappearing further up ahead.
".... Is it just me, or is it getting darker?" JR asked, frowning as he glanced around. The light had been gradually dimming, and now, it was almost pitch black. Like midnight with no moon or stars, he couldn't even make out the trees. Their pace slowed, and the only sign of anything was the flickering blue light up ahead. "This might not be a good idea." JR reached over to grab Trey's shoulder, but his eyes went wide as the teen suddenly lurched out of his grasp, and began to fall forward. JR didn't have the time to shift his balance as he fell mid-step after him, twisting to try and grab something, only to see Wesley staring back at him as he fell. "Wesley!"
