[Kellswolves]

Wolves in Kells are generally monogamous. Mated pairs usually remain together for life, or until one of the pair dies. Though this is the most common form of mating/breeding, polygamy can occur in established packs. Incest between siblings, parents/children, grandparents/grandchildren, aunts or uncles/nephews or nieces is not permitted.

Please know that...

Every playable character is limited to 3 breedings total a year. You can not be back to back breeding(s) for males, they will only be able to breed again once their current litter is fully grown, following the same rules as female wolves. Once you reach this breeding limit with a character they will not be able to breed again until the following calendar year. When you post for a breeding there will be a new place for you to post the amount of breedings your character(s) have remaining. If you lie about this number your character will be barred from breeding(s) for the remainder of the year, so please keep track of every character and be honest in your breeding form(s); Staff knows who has bred and who hasn’t!

Lifemated or married pairings will be eligible for one extra breeding a year (making it 4 total) if all three of their prior breedings for the year were also with their lifemate/partner.

The breeding thread, life mate thread, marriage thread (berserkers only) and all breeding forms have been updated to reflect this information. The fling cooldown thread has been archived.

Puppies often grow into their markings, and can develop and show more colors as they age!

Payment

• There is a breeding fee of (Pay what you want)
• All payments must be sent to the artist!
• Fees can be split up between each owner, so long as it all goes to the artist in one trade.

Basic Rules

• You may only win one slot per breeding.
• A wolf may only be entered in one breeding opening at a time. In the event of multiple colorists having slots available at the same time, you may enter the same wolf in each thread, but you may only win one slot for that wolf.
• You may keep one offspring per breeding.
• Each wolf (or wildlife) may only breed three times in a calendar year. The only exceptions to this rule are life mated/married characters and more information on that may be found here.
• Wolves (and wildlife) may only have one litter at a time; both males and females must wait for their current litter to grow to adult before they may be entered in additional breedings.
• The twin gene can pass down in breedings, if your wolf is a twin make sure to make a note of it when submitting for a breeding!
• All offspring need to be posted for certs at the same time, or else your litter will not grow.

Dye & Breeding

• If your wolf has a large amount of dye covering it's body (and you don't own a clean image of them) the colorist has the right to CC (colorists choice) the covered markings. This means that your puppies/offspring might end up with markings you do not recognize!

In order to get RP benefits

• Each parent needs two completed RP logs (each with 500 words total) for the breeding.
• At least one RP for each parent must have both parents in it; the other can be solo or with a different wolf.

Seers

• Only Dire x Dire and Ethereal x Ethereal can create true Seer wolves. No seer gene will be passed down to pure bred Bererker or Hybrids in breedings. However, the seer gene can manifest in their offspring.

Types of Breeding

• Standard Breeding: As the name suggests, this is a basic breeding between a male and female wolf.

• Fling breedings (Three month cooldown)
Pairs who are not in a committed relationship or aren't in a bonded pair will fall into this category. Flings can happen in Kells, but OOCly they will come with a cool-down to prevent the over breeding of one single male or female wolf. Fling wolves will have a cool-down of three months before they are allowed to breed again. This applies to both the male and female wolf.

• Rogue Breeding: Female wolves can enter for a rogue breeding. This means that the father of the puppies/offspring will be completely random! Markings and colors will be up to the colorist, please understand this when entering for a rogue breeding! This option is not always available.

• Mix-and-Match: If you don't have a partner for breeding, but would still like to enter, you may enter your wolf into a pool where it might get chosen for a breeding with another wolf from that pool. Mix-and-Match wolves will be paired together at random or at the colorist's discretion. This option is not always available.

• Dire Wolf x Dire Wolf will always create Dire Wolf offspring
• Dire Wolf x Berserker Wolf will have a 50/50 chance of producing Dire Wolf offspring.
• Dire Wolf x Ethereal Wolf will have a 50/50 chance of producing Dire Wolf offspring.
• Dire Wolf x Wolf-dogs will always produce Wolf-dog offspring offspring.
• These chances will be rolled for by colorists.

Litter information

• Berserker Wolf x Berserker Wolf will always create Berserker offspring
• Berserker Wolf x Dire Wolf will have a 50/50 chance of producing Berserker offspring.
• Berserker Wolf x Ethereal Wolf will have a 50/50 chance of producing Berseker offspring.
• Berserker x Wolf-dogs will always produce Wolf-dog offspring offspring
• This chance will be rolled for by colorists.

Litter information

• Wolf-dog x any breed will always result in Wolf-dog offspring.

• Ethereal Wolf x Ethereal Wolf will always create Ethereal offspring
• Ethereal Wolf x Dire Wolf will have a 50/50 chance of producing Ethereal offspring.
• Ethereal Wolf x Berseker Wolf will have a 50/50 chance of producing Ethereal offspring.
• Ethereal Wolf x Wolf-Dog's will always produce Wolf-Dog offspring.
• This chance will be rolled for by colorists.

• Wolves that aren’t in a Pack get a 2-3 chance at puppies.
• Ethereal Wolves (Purebred) get a 2-3 chance at puppies
- Mixed breedings get 2.

Non-Roleplayed Pairs, per litter
Pack Wolves

• Wolves in a Pack get 1-3 chance at puppies.

Packless Wolves

• Wolves that aren’t in a Pack get a 1-2 chance at puppies.
• Ethereal Wolves must RP in order to breed.

Throwbacks

• If you mark yes, there's a possibility you'll get throwbacks to an actual wolf somewhere in the pup's heritage.
• This means that the colors and markings of your litter will not only look like the parents, but they could be taken from any blood relation you link with the form.
• Please post all images that you can/want of your pup's ancestors. At no time will an puppy look exactly like his/her ancestor.

- Eligible throwbacks are: Parents: siblings by the same two parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts by the same grandparents.

- Ineligible throwback includes: Any throwback that contributes genes from an unrelated wolf. Half-siblings can not be used in throwbacks.

Randoms

• If you mark yes, the colorist has the option of throwing in markings/colors/traits that may not appear in the lineage.
• You may not ask for a specific color to be used in randoms, this will be completely up to the colorist.
• If you roll a one in ANY breeding, you can buy an extra baby for 5k gold.
• If you want to custom into a breeding (random design), you need both mother's (owner) and father's (owner) permission before doing so.
If both parties do not consent, you can not custom into that breeding

Seer Roll

• When you submit a breeding form, you must post that you would like a chance to roll for a Seer in your breeding.
• If your litter rolls on the same number as the shop mule's, a Seer will be born into your litter. Limit one Seer per normal breeding.
• If it is a Seer x Seer gene carrier mating, the chances of them birthing more than one is doubled, thus they can have up to two Seers per litter.

Random Dye

• If you'd like a chance of the parents dye 'passing on' to their offspring, please make sure post the dyed images of the breeding pair when submitting a breeding form. The colorist will CC dye onto the adult stage(s) of your litter using inspiration from both parents! Please understand that this is completely up to the colorists discretion, colorists are not obligated to dye every puppy in every litter they color!
