It's your typical hospital which would have anything you might need: peculiarity based or not.

It was the monthly check up for Hana, a regular occurrence ever since the operation the child of hers had gone through all those years ago. Sayuri pulled her from class and went on their way to the hospital quickly in tow. She had began complaining of discomfort and such on the way, which the mother could only help her daughter through. No matter how much medicine, painkillers, or anything, it was always there. The doctors had always reassured her it wasn't a sign of something awful but a side effect of her condition. While she drove to the hospital, Sayuri's gloved hand rested on Hana's leg while the other drove there. She looked at her mother and finally spoke after a good twenty minutes of silence. "Mom?" Hana asked. Sae looked over to see a very worried expression on her daughter's face. In an instant, her "Mom Mode" clicked. "What's wrong? Do I need to pull over? Are you feeling alright?" They exchanged looks for a moment, maybe two before Hana finally shook her head. "N-Nevermind..."

After reaching the hospital, the mother and daughter made their way inside the building and walked into the waiting room there. Since there were no wheelchairs available, Sayuri carried Hana piggy back style and made her way down the hall. She fumed for a bit but checked themselves both in and soon found themselves in the waiting patient room. "He'll be here soon." Sayuri smiled at Hana, who was shifting around uncomfortably. Her eyes picked up on this and would grip her own seat out of frustration. "Ah-I'm okay, Mom." Hana lied and began to scoot away when her mother began to reach out towards her. "Really. I promise."

Sayuri pouted and so did her daughter. It was easy to tell which parent Hana had gotten that from. "You don't have to keep shouldering this burden, sweetie. Just let me help." Hana shook her head and a huff came from the mother's mouth. She began to take off her glove, which Hana did as well and began to push her back. "Stop! Mom!" They bickered back and forth and just when the girl thought she had won, Sae's palm fell on her arm. The feeling of vertigo came and passed as Sayuri woke up in her daughter's body.

"Ugh...Wh-What's going..." It was like a thousand different worms squirming around inside of her body without rest. Her unfamiliarity was enough for her to hug herself as Hana's frail arms would hold herself. Hana in her body would thankfully be out, most likely getting some rest from a mixture of this sensation going away and Sayuri not sleeping well for the past year.

The Doctor wasn't close enough to hear the bickering before he walked in. Instead, he showed a brief look of surprise when he saw "Hana" hugging herself. His eyes quickly scanned the room to find the mother slumped over nearby. A moment later a nurse came in. "Check her."

The nurse does as she is told before replying back. "She appears to be asleep."

"Take her to another room."

After picking up the lifeless body with ease, she disappeared out the door. Leaving the Doctor alone with "Hana" once more. Not once did he make a move to help the girl--even when it seemed to get worse. Instead, he lifted his hand up to place a cube around the part of the room she sat in. It had a generally comforting feeling. Only because it was warm and she could breathe just fine. Otherwise, it was as if one was moving through slightly bouncy gelatin. Then he pulled the stool over to him and sat down to observe.

Brown orbs watched as those young legs ripped apart to reveal countless muscle fibers. All moving in an abnormal way. As if they were alive. Still, he did nothing but observe. One struck out in a seemingly random direction faster than it should have when surrounded by the cube. "Interesting." Soon after a couple more came to do something similar. They appeared to be aiming at him, however. His eyes focused on "Hana" as the three strings of fiber whipped around too slowly for concern. She seemed more occupied with herself--which was interesting. It wasn't long before more muscle fibers joined the fray. Trying to reach out for him. The Doctor stood up as things seemingly became more violent in the cube. The walls bending just to bounce back more often than before. Fibers managing not to hit the girl despite how wild they seemed to be acting when they weren't focusing an attack in his direction.

The doctor came in as "Hana's" head lifted up to look at him. She was unable to talk mainly on the count of how suspicious this all felt to her. It was like...her entire form was fighting back against her. The way he talked, how direct and rough he was being. It was like he was a totally different person from when she talked to him normally. A brief fit of anger rose through the girl but it was pushed aside as her sleeping body was moved. She held out a hand and squeaked out, "H-Mom!" before she was taken away to god knows where. Another surge of energy came as her entire body was shaking as it an earthquake was happening inside of her. His only act was to surround her body in a gelatinous mixture. While it did help her feel less impacted by whatever was going on. Sayuri wanted to curse at him,. wanted to just beat him senseless had she not the body of Hana. Just then a sheering pain came out from her legs.

The child's legs, or what had been them, was now a literal jungle of muscle fibers that flailed in every which way. She could feel each and every one swinging or moving around as if they had been her actual legs. Sae was breathing heavily while the pain would worsen as a new element was introduced into the mix. Inside of her head, she began to hear voices. It started as one. A simple. "Hana." but was growing as multiple were heard. The woman did her best to keep them at bay and gripped her head as a piercing headache formed in it. "Wh-What?..." Silence. The doctor stood just as more muscle fibers were lashing out at the cube, focusing specifically on him. At least the cube could withstand the attacks from this...thing.

                                                        "You're not Hana."
                                                        "Too strong! Not listen!"
                                                        "Not Hana..."

Sayuri's mind was assaulted by a crowd of replies all directed at her. The pain...It hurt so much. A blast of dread filling her soul while her mind was the receiving end of blow after blow of whatever this was. "Wha-What are you? Get out of my daughter now!" More silence, then a blast of laughter. The kind that was used to taunt somebody. her younger mouth let out a tiny whimper while doing her best to continue to think and not ignore the doctor. "What's so funny?" She demanded.

"We are a part of Hana now, fool. Should we be removed or fall, then Hana shall as well."
                                                        "Connected! We live like one!"
                                                        "A part of Hana..."

The news made her heart drop. However these things got inside of her, this was why Hana was so outlandish with her, These things were why she was going to lose her baby. And now, the news that this would be a burden she would carry for the rest of her life. Sayuri balled her first. "Where did you come from? Were you always there? Her power? Why would you hurt Hana if you need her to survive?" Her hands reached to grab muscle fibes but would move wildly enough that some would hit her in the process.

"We came when she was in the hospital. To control her. To serve her purpose. But that isn't for you to know."
                                                        "Only Hana can know!"
                                                        "Not for you to know..."
"I wonder...If we harm you enough, will our Hana come back to us?"
                                                        "Ours now!"
                                                        "We want Hana..."

Intense pain graced Sae as more fibers joined the fray, hellbent on tearing as much of her legs as they could and slamming against their prison. She swallowed hard and would continue to hold onto Hana's body. She wouldn't let them win. They wouldn't take her baby from her...

Things seemed to start getting a bit out of control. Seeing it was about time for him to step in he raised his hand ones more. Palm open before he slowly started to curl his fingers into a fist. This caused the substance around her to thicken--causing the tendrils to slow to a stop eventually. It took a bit of time, however. While he was dealing with the out of control muscle fibers the nurse walked back in. "Get ready to sedate her."

"Yes, Dr. Weaver." She said as she got closer to her. When things came to a standstill lifted her pointer finger before something akin to a needle sprung out and stuck her in the neck. Apparently, the Doctor made the gelatin-like substance less restricting in that particular area. He waited a moment before slowly letting the thicken lessen. Only dissipating the cube when he was she every part of her was out like a light.

An unknown amount of time passed, if either of them were to wake up no one else would be in the room. Whatever needed to be done seemed to be already.

It was probably a bad idea, but he ended up passing out soon after they got him in the ambulance. His mind to process what had happened to his body, why it wasn't freaking out, and why he was pretty sure he had seen a dead man; it was just too much, it decided to check out instead. There was only so much the EMTs could do on the ride over, but from what they were seeing, he had been incredibly fortunate. He had many broken bones, but that was it. His right arm was broken in several places, he had several broken ribs, and a mild concussion; which was much less than they would have expected from someone who had been involved in a hit and run. Even though several ribs had broken, it seemed that none of them had punctured anything, they were just sort of floating around in stasis somewhere fairly safe though not where they were supposed to be. Once he arrived at the hospital, he was wheeled into surgery while the cops asked Hoglah for any information that she could give. They were particularly thankful that she had managed to get the car's license plate as that would make finding the perpetrator infinitely easier. Of course they would need to hear both sides of the story, but from what they heard from Hoglah, they felt fairly confident that the driver would be found at fault, so he would have to pay the insurance costs as well as medical expenses, etc.

After a few hours, he was finally released from surgery. At first they were not willing to let Hoglah wait in his room with him; however, when they found they could not turn up a relative in the area, and fearing that he might panic if he woke up alone in a strange place, they permitted her to wait with him, but only if she promised to not disturb him at all and let him rest as long as he needed. Despite the optimistic report, he didn't look too good: there was a large bandage near the back of his head, his arm was in a hard cast strapped to his body, and he would now be sporting a few more scars on his side. Still, it was something he would recover from in time. Currently he was on some heavy painkillers, so even if he had cared to wake up at the moment, he would have seemed completely stoned. It was imperative that while his ribs were mending, that he kept breathing normally, lest the alteration caused an infection, hence even once he was released he would continue to receive strong pain killers (though not morphine level anymore) to keep him from reacting to the pain. Not even his dreams could disturb his rest, though they were decidedly strange from the effects of the drugs, but also from his brain trying to find explanations for the face he had seen. In his current state, many different lines of reason were running and even sounded a bit plausible; but once his mind was once more his, he would have to come to the conclusion that there was only one solution: all those years ago he had been lied to, his father was still alive, and it seemed very much in trouble. For now though, all he, Hoglah, and the doctors could do was wait.

Don't fall away

Don't fall away
And leave love bleeding in my hands
In my hands again
And leave love bleeding in my hands
In my hands
Love lies bleeding”

The ride to the hospital had Hoglah in a bit of a pickle. The day was supposed to be a typical one, it was going to be a time to explore the city. Nothing was meant to happen that would place a sixteen-year-old girl where she was now. Unless you were a pink-haired individual with an insane amount of luck or just someone really unfortunate, then maybe they’d be in this scenario.

Strawberry lenses calmly shifted to the male that the paramedics took care by checking his vitals and making sure that he survived to the trip to the hospital. Sure, this could be a very tense situation but Pinky here didn’t seem phased by it...on the outside. 'Even when he isn’t awake, all banged up, and in this really tight space; I can’t help but think this guy is really attractive.' Her inner voice sighed pleasantly as those serene orbs watched the people do their job. The outside world seemed to fade away as she remained fixated on the man’s appearance. From an outside perspective it would look like Hoglah was keeping an eye on the male but the truth wasn’t too far from that.

When they arrived at the hospital, the teenager was pulled to the side and told to wait for the cops. The man had to go into surgery and that was one place her little lucky streak wouldn’t let her go. But she was understanding as Pinky gave the hospital workers a nod of obedience. Taking a seat in a designated area, Hog probably waited for about 15 minutes before the cops showed up. It must have been a busy day for them since they looked to be on edge. The teen recounted what had transpired to the best of her ability before the men in blue were gone. The part about the hit-and-run was out of her hands and the teenager could only give so much.

At least her luck wasn’t running out when the girl was told that she could look after the unconscious man. Her little heart soared with delight while her outer appearance was that of an aloof individual. Taking a seat next to Mr. Hotstuff, it looked like she would need to play the waiting game a bit more. Well, Hog felt that she would grow even luckier by sticking to his side. After a while, her lids grew heavier as the machines had lulled her off to sleep.

            User Image

A nurse coming into the room finally stirred up Pinky. The woman seemed to be giggling at the drool that collected on the corner of her mouth. Apparently, Hoglah had a dumb happy-go-lucky look on her face as she mumbled in her sleep. Who knows how long the teen had been out but it was long enough for word to get around the Nurse’s station. No one wanted to wake her up as Hog was becoming a hot topic on the floor. The teenager felt incredibly embarrassed while trying to get back into their “cool” persona. Taking a breath in, her vision looked over to the hit-and-run accident. It looked like he was coming out of his unconscious state making her sweet beating heart to beat just a little bit faster.

Slowly he was waking up, at least a few pistons in his brain churning before his eyes fluttered open. It was...bright? His apartment wasn't bright, nor would Ali keep a room even half so bright. There was a beeping sound too...that was weird. He thought about getting up, but his body was way too comfortable where he was, and he just didn't have enough drive to force himself to get up. Welp, if he wasn't going to get up, he could at least look around. His eyes lethargically fell from object to object, not really recognizing anything. It was also all fairly tacky. Did I go home with a fashion victim? He better have a winning personality...or at least have been good... His eyes finally managed to list their way over to Hoglah. The two horsepower engine that was his brain at the moment was damn sure she looked familiar, but for the life of him he couldn't figure anything out. After a few more seconds, he thought he could finally place all of that pink. Just a little while ago, there had been a mass of pink rushing towards him. Why was she rushing and why did her eyes look so worried in that memory? A few more seconds and a little more of the memory came back to him. She was dashing towards him, trying to shove him out of the way. Props to her: he was a hell of a big guy and she was not, no, she was definitely a girl and also not very big, but the girl part didn't really matter because girls could do pretty much anything that guys could do, well except things where anatomy really did make a difference, but you didn't really use those parts to shove someone out of the way so that didn't really matter. What did matter was that she was a lot smaller than him, but she had been able to move him out of the way, because...there had definitely been a really good reason for her to move him out of the way, but why was it? He had been kneeling down to pick up some money off of the street, that had probably helped her to move him cause he wasn't really bracing himself or anything, and he had looked up after pocketing the money to see metal and headlights, then this streak of pink, apparently that girl, and... "oh s**t we're dead!" As far as he knew, he was speaking perfectly clear English, but to an observer, his words were terribly slurred and may not all have been English. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to kill you, honest! I'm a pro-hero...kind of, or I was, guess I'm dead now, but we don't do the whole murder thing. Ali is going to be so depressed, how could I do this to him?" The monitor off to his side was starting to beep faster as his pulse increased with the fear and regret of having accidentally died and taken someone along with him. The other option just simply hadn't occurred to him yet, nor would it unless someone calmed him the heck down and talked him through this.

With the beeping of machines, the low murmurs that crept in from the open door, all was not so bad. For a teenager, her own mind was fussing over how she looked and appeared to others. Was her hair fine? Face “cool” looking? Their outfit “on fleek”? Gaaa! Some of these new slang took some time to adjust. 'I hope he wakes up soon.' Hog took a few calming breaths just so she could settle the pitter-patter of her heart. If she broke out of character now then all will be for naught!

            Rustle Rustle

Something was moving nearby! Besides the employee in the room, who was checking on the machines, it could be only one other person! Pinky glanced towards the inked man as they looked around their surroundings. Despite her outwardly calm expression, that demeanor may have been betrayed by the glimmer of excitement in her eyes. The nurse took note of the patient’s status before leaving the two to their own devices. This was like a scene in a lot of teenagers fantasy. The adult leaves two people, who could potentially be in a romantic relationship, alone. Now all she needed was a full moon outside so that its lunar beam could illuminate the man’s chiseling features. Yes, kids did have a wild imagination sometimes.

When Seth, a name that Hoglah may or may have not looked up in the stranger’s chart, woke up and began to speak, the world began to move in slow motion. The hospital room began to fade out as Mr. Wilson slurred. Well, it wouldn’t actually matter what he said because Hoglah didn’t catch a single word that was spoken as she was absolutely taken with him. Hog was absolutely mesmerized and felt she was at the peak of her luck. "Could you please repeat yourself but more slowly?" The teen tried to speak in a calm manner as her hand moved in a circular fashion to insinuate that Seth should speak in an unhurried manner.

Pinky was beginning to come out of that hormonal high when the nurse came back into the room. Eyes blinked rapidly as she hoped that she caught herself looking uncool in time. 'Oh man! I can’t look lame now! Get it together girl!' There was a slight shake of her head as another mental note was taken. She had to get it together or else all of her hard work would come undone. The hospital worker gave the woman an odd look but came to check Seth’s information once more. They (the Nurse and Seth) would have surely talked a bit, but all Hog could see was some other woman trampling over her potential territory. But she was a bit on the shy end and couldn’t actually say any of this aloud. So she watched with feigning interest in the two’s talk.

How could he slow down his speech when he was being crushed by guilt over killing someone! Was this a trick of the Underworld? The spirits had difficulties communicating? Oh s**t it was just like in all of those Greek legends. Then a nurse came in, which was really weird: if this was Hell, then there would be no need for a nurse. If it were Heaven, the nurse would have a lot less up top and a lot more down below. And if this were a mediocrity like life...wait...that would make sense. "s**t, I'm still alive," he breathed. The nurse asked him a few questions, though sometimes she had to ask them a few times, and other times she had to ask him to please either speak in English, or let her get a translator. Mostly what she was trying to ascertain was who needed to be contacted to let them know what was going on and instruct them on what Seth would need once he was released. Finally the nurse was able to get him to understand what she was asking when she told him she needed to know who had power of attorney and how to get in contact with them; though not to worry, he would make a full recovery. She explained the main issue was that he was currently on morphine, which would keep him pain free, but also impaired his cognition and memory, and they needed an adult who was impairment free. After what seemed like forever, the nurse finally got the information, and headed out to make the phone call.

With her gone, Seth turned back to look at the pink dart who had...holy s**t she had saved his life! Barely remembering how hard it was for people to understand him of late, he worked really really hard to make himself understandable. "Merci...thanks, for saving me. I owe you one." Upon further thought, he recalled that he didn't really know who she was, so she probably didn't know who he was. "Je m'appelle...wait, no, wrong language...I'm Seth. I don't know your name, do I? I think they have me on something, so my memory is s**t. So if I do know you, sorry I can't remember right now. I'll remember later." Shaking hands...that's what people normally did when they were introducing themselves, but when he tried, he found he couldn't really move his arm. He turned to look at the non-mobile arm found that it was in a cast strapped to his body. "Wow...it must be smashed to hell. At least I'm left-handed..." Of course he kind of needed two hands to do most things, but at least his dominant one was still good. He wondered what else was messed up, and how that would affect him, but he wouldn't worry about it yet, there wasn't a reason to worry about it yet. If Hoglah was going to have any real meaningful conversation with him, she would need to keep grabbing his attention, that and be prepared for him to not remember a single word of what she said.

The nurse walked behind the nurse's station and picked up an outward going phone. She quickly dialed the number she had been told, hoping that Mr. Wilson had been coherent enough to give her the right one. Hopefully, the man she was contacting would pick up, but if not she would just leave a message. Either way, her end of the conversation went something like this: Mr. Alistair Osius? This is Nurse Edwards from Starlight Hospital. Your friend Seth Wilson was involved in a hit and run this morning. He is currently stable, but we would like for you to come in as soon as possible."

”Memories are just where you laid them
Drag the waters till the depths give up their dead
What did you expect to find
Was there something you left behind
Don't you remember
Anything I said when I said

Don't fall away
And leave me to myself
Don't fall away
And leave love bleeding in my hands
In my hands again
And leave love bleeding in my hands
In my hands
Love lies bleeding”

Even though she tried to give a reasoning she probably thought was a good one, the man was not convinced, and neither was Kairo. Aside from him laughing off on the side, the "demon", did have a few words to say about the woman and her preferences. However, he spoke in a language that Alistair couldn't understand, so he couldn't really decipher what was said and whether or not he should feel offended.

"Look. The only reason people put up with that bitchy attitude of yours is because they either want to ******** you or they want your fame and money. They become popular and famous just by being around you. I personally, do not give a single s**t about fame. I am a normal guy who likes to be spoken to like a normal person."

He was ready to tear into her with a long speech about her behavior and how she should act. But he was swiftly cut off when the phone started to ring. He gave her a pointed look, before making his way over to the phone to answer it. It only took a few seconds of listening to the nurse, before he was gathering his things.

"I am on my way. The local hospital? I will be right there!"

The lights started flickering as he hung up the phone until they completely shut off. He took his keys and the open sign flickered off before he started ushering her out the door.

"I don't have time for you, Seth is hurt and I am closing up."

When he successfully pushed her out of the building, he would lock his door before before he quickly jogged to his car. He was worried and jumbled, but he managed to get his keys in the ignition and pull out of the driveway without hitting something. He would rush to the hospital as quickly as he was able, before he would run through the hospital asking anyone he could where Seth was. The lights were really bright, and he could already feel a headache forming, but he pushed forward until he made it to Seth's room.

    "Seth?!"

The panting man rushed forward, not noticing the girl as he moved closer to Seth as he pant heavily. His face was contorted in an expression of concern and relief. Seth was not great, but he wasn't in severe condition.

    "What happened?"

    ”Willing zombies walk the streets
    Golden age, dead century
    Brothers, sisters, lovers, whores
Casualties of long and lost wars
    Dead. dead. dead
    We're a degeneration
    Get it on
    The same old song
Everyday it will be the same
Listen to the song that still remains
    Under violent clouds we break
No time for healing again and again”

He and Pinky may have been talking just then, or maybe not...he was so completely out of it at the moment. What he was aware of was someone rushing down the hall, he could tell by the really fast footsteps, then they turned the corner into his little room, and there before him was Ali! "Ali!" he beamed. He would have gotten up and hugged the man, but he was still working on moving parts of limbs, and the concerted effort of standing and walking was far beyond him. "Did you come here to visit me? That's really sweet of you." What he thought Ali would be doing here was hard to say, he didn't really even have any alternate thoughts, he just didn't know if his only theory was right or not. The question about what happened finally registered in his brain, and he had to pause to think for a moment about the particulars. "I was going...somewhere...and I saw money in the street. Five dollars, American, I think. Well, I know it was American, but I'm not sure if it was five or not. And then there was this car barreling towards me...I don't think they were trying to hit me, I think it just sort of happened..." He doubted the car really cared if it hit him or not, but he was pretty sure he had seen the driver try to swerve, which probably meant it had not been his attention to squish him. "I totally would have been exploded roadkill if it hadn't have been for her," he tried pointing towards Pinky, but he could never remember which arm was bandaged to him and which one was learning to move again, so it ended up being more of an awkward general movement in Pinky's general direction. "She got me out of the way before the brunt of the car hit me. Though...I think I died for a second or something...I swear I saw a dead person...weird..." He shook his head slightly, trying to keep focused despite the pharmacy in his veins. He looked over to Pinky, "It seems I don't remember again. Might be too much morphine they've got running. Oh...Pinky, this is my best friend, Ali. He's probably the sweetest person you could ever meet. And best artist ever. Trust me." His attention flipped back to Ali, and he couldn't help but smile: he had the best brother/friend/boss ever. Even coming here to this painfully bright room..."oh s**t, we need to make it darker here, or you'll get really sick! Where's the damn light switch..." Panic was starting to set in as he realized how horrible this place was for his brother's health. It was like...angel of death level horrible. He had spent part of the day thinking he had killed a kid, he didn't want to actually hurt his brother!
