Gaze upon my killjoys, ye free spirits and despair. Shion gripped the bridge of her nose, shutting her eyes for a second to steel herself for the litany of self-righteous insults she was about to endure. "Perfect example... Aiyume, this is Kenshin, er Lord Hyuuga," she said, giving an ernest attempt to correct herself. "He knows who I am, so he's constantly on my a**. Not nearly the same as an enemy combatant knowing who I am, but at least I can hit them." Turning to face the Sannin, Shion forced a pleasant smile. "To what do I owe the pleasentries?"
Shion then listened to Kenshin's idea, giving it a quick mull over in her head. It was true that Matatabi was still... effected, if you could say that; honestly, Shion had no idea how the corruption had effected the demon. Matatabi and Shion's connection had been completely cut off. At least, the mental bridge allowing the two to communicate. Shion was still able to make use of the demon's powers, but the idea of healing Matatabi, if she had been hurt, was too good to pass up. The only thing stopping her from immediately accepting was having to get into the anti-chakra cell.
Shion's objection to his choice of Kage would no doubt be well known to the officer, and him still considering her on "Toso's side" gave a certain feel of unease. The Anbu captain's eyes darted to the cell, then narrowed as they landed on Kenshin. Her pleasant smile thinned into a discerning grimace that only half a decade of leading deliberate misinformation campaigns could give you. "And what's to stop you from just leaving me in there? I'm sure it would be nice for a lot of people to finally get me out of their hair."
"I am training, yes, and that makes sense. Thank you, Shion" She said as she flashed a smile towards Shion in thanks. Then a man walked in as Aiyume muttered under her breath, "Speak of the devil..." Only low enough for those with great hearing can hear. Tstua heard it as she sneezed twice and a small cough. Shion doesn't seem too pleased by his presence as her fingers went up to pinch the bridge of her nose as she rose an eyebrow towards the slight annoyance that the female was giving to Kenshin. Being introduced, Aiyume managed a small wave of uncertainty and had made the comment of Kenshin constantly being on Shion's a**. This was odd. Why was Kenshin bothering Shion to that point? Aiyume and Tsuta had lots to learn and this was the beginning for the duo. Kenshin went straight to the point and she liked that. No time to tiptoe or putting people down gently, just straight to it. Matabi... whoa?! Aiyume squeaked very quietly as she glanced towards Shion, was she a jinchuriki!? Jashin corruption on the tailed beasts... Oh boy. If that went unchecked, she would hate to think what would happen. Aiyume brought her hand up as she scratched her head slightly, still processing everything he had said, but Shion didn't have issues. She was a seasoned shinobi after all.
Shion was silent for a moment as she responded in a way that Aiyume did not expect. She remained quiet, this was between the two of them and right now, Aiyume and Tsuta felt like a fly on the wall. Tsuta, tired, decided to lay down and rested her head over her arm and let out a small chuff-like sound.

How would I leave you in there if I have to be in the cell with you to perform the ritual?" He asked with a dismissive tone toward her paranoia. Kenshin pointed at a couple of officers and began walking toward the cell system. He used them many times although he never had to be inside any of them when the chakra seals were activated. The sannin ordered the ANBU and police who were operating the seals to get into position. The plan was that he and Shion would be in the cell. Kenshin would use his chakra to pull the Jashinist's chakra out of Shion's system. Then the guards would activate the seals immediately to dissipate the Jashinist's chakra before it could become dangerous. After that Kenshin and Shion would be able to leave through the open door. "The seals would allow the Jashinist's chakra to be sealed away immediately. If we don't do it this way then the chakra could form into a monster and kill you while you're in a weakened state. I was able to destroy the corrupted chakra beast before it could hurt Takao earlier but I'd rather we use this safer option to avoid the risk." The lightning sage cautioned Shion of the dangers involved in this ritual. When he was done speaking he looked back at Shion. "Unless you'd prefer keeping Matatabi corrupted and hurt, then I'll be on my way." Kenshin offered an ultimatum before pointing for Shion to enter the cell. He hoped that she would accept so they could get this over with quickly before the corrupted Matatabi could become even more of a liability.

If you are really ANBU, we're gonna be working a lot closer from here on out. Now, hold tight. This will only take a minute... I hope. Then we'll return to our interrogation." With that, she'd concede to Kensin's points and enter the chamber with a nod. "I... I'm sorry. I just..." she murmured, eyes darting around the floor for the briefest moment. "Whatever, let's just do this."
"Yes ma'am." It took Aiyume everything she had not to become sarcastic with that. While Aiyume couldn't be sarcastic, Kenshin took on the sassy to levels where she did not even know existed as she had to bite inside of her cheek to keep from laughing or commenting. Her eyebrow rose when Shion explained that it should take only a minute and they can get back to the interrogation. Tsuta looked up to Aiyume as Aiyume looked down at her, they both were thinking the same thing. They had remembered Kenshin mentioned the part where it's really painful so Shion may need some rest afterward, did that get into one ear and out the other for Shion? Tsuta was started to get interested in this so she stood up and slightly wagged her tail but it was a bit low, it was obvious, Tsuta was concerned. "We should be okay," Aiyume reassured, after all, Kenshin had pointed out to why he wanted to do that in the chambers specifically.

▱▰▱Kenshin would step into the chamber with Shion and shut the door. All of the agents and police were at their positions and were prepared for Kenshin's signal. The agents watched them pensively as Kenshin extended his hand to place it on Shion's seal for Matatabi. He was relieved that Shion was cooperating with him and that he would be able to purify the damage done to the demons by the Jashinists. He inhaled as he focused a mixture of sage chakra and Gyuki chakra together with the seal. Shion would be able to feel the massive chakra expenditure that Kenshin was placing into the demon's seal. She would then feel Matatabi stirring with pain as Kenshin retracted his hand. His flat hand became a closed fist as he ripped the impure chakra out of the seal. This would be quite the painful sensation for Shion as the Jashinist's chakra was removed from her body. Kenshin strained against the chakra as he forced it out. Immediately, the ghastly crimson chakra formed into the shape of Matatabi above them. Onlookers would be able to tell that it was merely a corrupted version of Matatabi that was released and taking form. The moment this beast was constituted Kenshin yelled out at the guards. "Now!" A CORE agent activated the seals and the chakra monster immediately dissipated. The nature chakra that coated Kenshin's hand would also disappear as they both lost access to their chakra pools. Kenshin and Shion would both feel an overwhelming sense of exhaustion after this ordeal but it was successful. Kenshin and Shion would leave the cell together once they caught their breath. After a short break, Kenshin would finally speak to Shion. "I'm going to leave the village and hunt down the rest of these demons to ensure they don't fall prey to Jashin's plans. You're welcome to join me if your duties allow it." With that, Kenshin would bow and leave the CORE Compound in search of Kameyo. Shion would be able to follow him if desired.

Shinji entered the CORE compound, weightless steps carrying him deep into the building before shifting direction towards one of the four branches. His specific destination was for the ANBU wing. After all, he would need to collect his things now that he was active again. A few members who noticed his arrival stopped him to have a quick chat, nothing too boisterous or loud. Mostly they wanted him to confirm his return. He had spent so long in a coma that the special ops unit wasn't sure that he would ever wake up. Shinji brushed off their comments and assured them that he would be alright. Once he was inside, an old friend lead him to where they had stored his gear. Laying on top was his kitsune-shaped mask. He sat down on the floor and held the mask in his hands, memories flooding his mind. Shinji waved away anyone who approached him as he set into inspecting his old supplies, making mental notes of anything that was either out of order or would need replaced in the near future.

Ink creatures would approach Kenshin, Musica, Ada, and Kojiro with urgency. While most of her caricatures carried her voice for recognition, this one just bore her signature and spoke in a distorted voice that suggested those outside of a few feet would hear nothing but white noise, ensuring privacy for the message. "The armory has been broken into by civilians, somehow. They've stolen over a hundred scrolls with sealed jutsu inside that could, collectively, destroy the entire village without a trace. There are shinobi dealing with the civilians, but I need you to go to the armory and resecure it.
"Your task is firstly to check the armory for any weaknesses and fix them, and secondly to investigate using the CORE members or physical evidence to determine how the armory was broken into. Do so without bringing any extra attention to the fact that civilians got into the armory; this is why the group is small, but specially able to handle a task this fragile."
The armory within the CORE compound was a giant vault, sealed with fuuin. Inside used to be thousands of scrolls, though a hundred were missing from the more dangerous selections. If the four arrived, they would each individually have access to breeze past any CORE members and enter the vault directly, especially as they each had earned a reputation within CORE for being just, as none had been discharged for a part in the APD corruption scandal despite ties to the APD.

But I’m glad we’re all done.” She grinned to her Hyuuga partner “Thanks for your help, Mr. Kenshin. I appreciate it.” Musica formed a sign and slammed her metal hand to the ground, summoning a squad of APD officers to aprehend the large number of people in the building. Of course, that was before the news. An ink creation created by Miyuki appeared within the crowd of police officers. Musica followed the caricature as it filled her and (possibly) Kenshin in on the issue. The young woman blew steam from the hot coffee she carried as it billowed out of its paper cup. “Was it ever this hectic when you were in charge?” She asked before taking a sip. “Gah!” The coffee was still hot and it burnt Musica’s tongue, causing her to jump and sputter. “How’d a buncha ********’ civilians break in here anyway?” She wondered as she looked around. Musica spent a lot of time as a thief, so she wondered how she would’ve done it before, too. “I just hope everyone out there’s okay…” She mumbled to herself.

He looked around at all of the familiar faces and all of the familiar rooms of his former workplace. He smiled gently seeing his fellow officers as well as the clerical staff. The former APD captain could not ignore such warm feelings of familiarity. "They didn't stand a chance against us." Kenshin responded seriously and confidently to Musica's statements about the trafficking criminals not putting up a fight. "I'm here to serve. It's nice to be back." He looked around the room as he spoke resolutely to Musica's gratitude.
▱▰▱The sannin joined Musica in following the ink creation. "Yes, but every era has its own challenges. I'm confident that you'll rise to this one." He could tell that Musica was alarmed by this and he knew how that felt. There were many times that he felt out of his element but, in the end, he learned to trust his gut. A large mug of black coffee was handed to Kenshin by a secretary for old time's sake. He smiled and accepted the coffee by the handle. "Thank you." He bowed his head to her before taking a big gulp of the strong filtered brew. The news was indeed alarming and he knew that he would need the caffeine to get through it. "That place is locked up tight. Breaking in by force is no easy feat. Maybe someone let them in..." Kenshin speculated aloud as he awaited further directives.

Smiting Blade of the Night Watch [ Naitō Otchi no Sumittinguburēdo ] | Rank X | Bukijutsu [ Lightning ] | Spiritual When this technique is activated it crackles violently with night blue lightning for the entire duration. The electricity from the blade also forms bolts of lightning over the body of the user and appears to supercharge them. Whenever the blade is swung or thrust over the duration the user can fire a concentrated blast of ten bolts of lightning to accompany the strike equal to the rank applied but for only half the cost to initiate the technique. Hatake, Raiu, and Sage enhanced lightning can pass through the blade and apply to these lightning bolts. The bolts cause a thunderously deafening sonic boom and can inflict tier 2 burns upon direct contact with the lightning. Additionally, these lightning bolts can be freely applied to all complex bukijutsu for no action cost to smite enemies. The only action cost is when the technique is activated and all subsidiary abilities of the technique do not consume actions and only chakra. This ability can be used in both forms of Getsuruito.
Draconic Sabre of Moon Sundering [ Getsu Sandaringu no Dorakonikku Seibā ] | Rank X | Bukijutsu [ Lightning ] | Complex This is the original ability of the ancient Getsuruito blade and thus requires the original katana form. 5 chakra can be spent to transform the blade to its original form upon activation of this technique. Crackling and thunderous dark blue lightning can be applied to the katana's edge at any rank and the same lightning can form a dragon head formed from electricity over the body of the user for 10 posts. This allows all spiritual techniques the sword comes into contact with to be slashed through and even cut in half at the same rank despite the complex nature of the technique. For half of the original cost to activate the technique a same-rank spiritual electrical energy slash can be sent out from the slash of the blade. This same cost can be applied to any complex bukijutsu to achieve the same effect. The original 10 post activation of this ability consumes an action but all subsidiary abilities do not.

Ada and X departed the hospital as soon as an inky herald from the Arashikage arrived and passed on Miyuki's message. It notified them of a severe security breach at the Compound. A large plate of metal magnetically taxied them to their destination, far in the air and out of harm's way. "So much anger and disorder..." Ada said in a disheartened tone as she watched matters unfold below. Especially since it's return to ground, the Hidden Storm village's populous seemed to suffer one tragedy after another. Toso's decision to seek isolation didn't ever seem entirely wrong to her, just the part about ceceding from the Empire. Citizens returning home with various types of scars from some kind mass abduction event where they seemed to have been subjected to body, mind and possibly even soul altering experiments. She was still trying to figure how it was tied to the prior corruption found in the APD since Kojiro's accident, as well as if it might also somehow be tied to the Land of Iron. Now there were riots throughout the streets that she'd yet to hear the reasons for, and even supposedly secure military facilities weren't beyond the reach of the ensuing chaos.
X used his jiton battery to magnetize himself to the quickly flying metal platform he was traveling on with Ada. He posed an inquiry in such a tone that suggested he had his own doubts or speculations about their next assignment, "Lady Ada, I understand that we won't know until we can confirm for ourselves, but I am... curious as to how the general population can pull off a heist of dangerous, securely hidden ninja arts." Ada never cease to appreciate the android's habit of asking the obvious questions with keen interest which many have and habitually would take for granted. Even so, this topic was taking up more and more space in her present thoughts, "That's just it, partner, I don't believe it was that simple. Riots break out while the village is busy trying to reintegrate their lost, tormented citizens. Now there's been a huge breach in national security amidst the confision. I suspect that all of these events could be tied to each other so far. Each event has done its part to sow seeds of distrust, fear, and anger in the people. The goal seems to be to destabilize Arashigakure- possibly to a point of no return if everything goes according to their plan." Ada paused then put a close to her developing theories, "I doubt it is the Jashinists this time. However, whoever is responsible may have resources within and connections to Arashigakure... somehow." X looked back to her, starting to see the picture she was painting for him. It was plausible, but there were still too many holes to be able to affirm any of that as more than speculation. Ada sensed and welcomed his hesitation, "It's just a hunch, X. Better described as a worst-case scenario that I pray is anything but accurate. I won't let it guide my investigation going forward, and I hope you have your own perspective into the matter." X nodded then turned his attention forward again, "I will do all I can to assist the innocent and just, as you do Lady Ada. " She found a smile out of this moment the refocused on getting to the Compound.
Ada and partner urgently manuever through the APD and CORE operatives that were busy clearing the insurgents out to be duely processed as best they could manage. The facility was designed well to accommodate its various functions, but it would be impossible to put every rioter in cells. Even if it were possible, such an act would likely have a powerful lingering negative effect on the citizenry's relationship with Arashi's governance. Quelling the people and rebuilding trust with them after things had been allowed to get this far made the noble woman's head spin. 'I have to focus on this right now. Everything will quickly become much more dire if any radicals decide to turn the stolen forbidden jutsu against the village, or one of our new allies against the Jashinist threat.' She shuddered at the thought of innocent lives being lost to a moment of passionate revolt. Images of Seizan came and went, ever serving as a constant reminder of her duty to protect and serve toward the lofty goal of prosperity for all. Ada recalled the ink caricature's message from the Arashikage as she made her way to the armory. Discretion was emphasized at the end, and she was all for preventing further panic among the population. Their present task was not to track down the missing scrolls, but instead to investigate the methods used by the civilians to by pass the vault's protections then secure it again to prevent further tresspass. She didn't even have to say anything to X as he partook in the investigation as soon as they arrived. His X-Vision mechanism was analyzing everyone and everything that crossed his line of sight. He internaly logged, sorted and filtered the data for anything relevant for reporting. Ada could tell his metal heart was as committed to this assignment as her own from the slightly pained expression on his face. He always seemed especially bothered by the constant conflict between the organics. She was just glad that he also saw value the good that existed in most of the humanoids, lest that become a whole other problem.
Before long, Ada would spot Kenshin and the APD Chief, Musica, from the crowd. They seemed to be waiting for someone or something while assessing the situation as they sipped from their ceramic mugs. She stopped and would ask her metal blue friend, "X, please go ahead. Remember to photograph and record everything that is out of place. Secure any evidence you can. I'll catch up with you and begin repairs. Code orange radio protocols, please." X nodded and simply replied, "Orders received. I'll see you soon lady Ada." As ordered, X would proceed directly to the Vault. He'd also cycle through various visual settings to analyze the crime scene as suggested, such as x-ray, infrared, shining ultraviolet light and more to ensure his investigation was as thorough as he could manage. Meanwhile, Ada detoured to greet her husband and the APD chief. She gave them a quick salute then said, "Hello Kenshin. I hope your meeting went well. To you as well, Chief Knote. Are the Twin Storm Cutter swords serving you well?" As much as she'd love to just give Kenshin a kiss and go about their work she opt to maintain a professional approach. Informality had little place in the present situation. She quickly segued to her actual reason for interrupting, in case they were busier than it appeared. Ada noticed the two were following the same animated caricature, but she couldn't be sure they were given the same task since it wasn't clarified who else was assigned to the vault case. "Are either of you supervising or investigating here?" She was careful not to say too much, to ensure nothing unnecessary reached the ears of anyone who needn't know.
