The Arashigakure CORE Compound is where the Hunters, ANBU, Police and also prisoners are all housed within the village. Located directly behind the Spire, most people never see the inside of the Compound and are far better off that way. There is a complex of seals that keep prisoners unable to even mold chakra in the lower levels of the compound. Besides the basement, the building is split into four zones: one for each branch of CORE and then one specifically for interrogation where the three most interact. Coming here means being under even more intense scrutiny by the enforcers of the Storm than anywhere else.

Unki followed after the man, assuming to have kept in step with him the entire time. They would have slowed to a stop about where the spire was, taking a road around the back past what appeared to be a large gate completely invisible from the front of the building. "Welcome to the CORE Compound. See to it you don't end up here against your will. The correctional facilities get quite unpleasant, I hear. Over there is where we are headed: interrogation. One of the four wings of CORE. Stay with me, don't go wandering off." As if to accentuate his point, a squadron of police officers came dashing past them. They stopped to offer the LT. a Salute but otherwise made a beeline from their wing towards the exit. If she cared to look, she'd find in one of the quadrants, from their position in plaza, that they were being watched.
A glance in another direction would find yet more. While the LT seemed less than perturbed, it would likely be uncomfortable to have so many dangerous looking masked individuals staring your way.
The man led them directly into the interrogation wing, opening the door ahead of him, the girl would be treated to a state of the art, all black room, large, multi-leveled and seemingly empty beyond the Foyer where a receptionist with a mask in the shape of an Orobourous scribbling on a paper. "How may I help you today L.T." The Lt. patted the body of his quarry who was starting to rouse impatiently. "Right, need a room. Ok, cell 7-C is open. That one of the Sons?""It is. Our visitor from the Capital managed to catch one of a group of four alive, believe it or not." Oroborous looked around the LT., seeing that it was Unki. "Well how bout that. Came along way since Endaishima, eh?" he teased. He tossed a key to the LT. "Send word to the Captain and the Kage, if you don't mind." Oroborous shook his head. "Negatory, the Kage are out. Kenshin is actually in charge, so far as village run ins are concerned. All the same," he spoke standing and nodding. Before their eyes, as if he had been an illusion he entire time he faded from view.
The lieutenant took the girl towards the staircase, and would find a building about the same makeup as a prison. She would also find clear cells, some lit, some dim, some fully dark. All of them, however, were soundproof. The various methods of interrogation were visible to her, varying levels of intrusive and brutal. Such was the case for the enemies of Arashigakure who didn't cooperate. The LT kept his eyes straight. None of this was new to him. He plopped the man down inside the cell and stepped outside to let him wake up fully. His back turned to the cell, he spoke to Unki. "Alright. So normal methods of interrogation, certain genjutsu or even ninjutsu, aren't going to work. They have seals on them that negate our use. Possible UHV invention, we don't know yet and our best codebreakers can't seem to get through them. For now, we have to interrogate them the old way. If he isn't cooperative, which the Sons of Helios aren't, we are going to have to get draconic. Are you ok with this?" he asked her. Once they were in there was no turning back.

__ Kenshin enterred the compound and waited for Shion and the ANBU who alerted them by the entrance. The police captain needed a full brief before engaging in the task at hand. "A Son of Helios is within our grasp, very interesting." Captain Kosei wanted to seize the opportunity to the maximum.

There was a first for everything and this was a first. Unki didn't know where she was, nearly lost track of how she got there, and with each step being watched from who-knows-where then she felt obliged to just stare at the back of the officer's head. When they had stopped, Unki mostly studied the floor until the officer mentioned her. He was on some offical conversation with a masked somebody. She looked up upon being mentioned and furrowed her brows and halfheartedly held back the bulk of an unamused sneer at the mention of Endaishima. He wasn't there. He didn't know.
They moved on. In time, the officer eventually relayed the basic rundown of their interrogation and posed his question to Unki. Her response was a subdued sigh and pressed her lips tight together. In the end, Unki could have said something that sounded less prepared than what she decided to come up with. "I put the rarity that is me to use, didn't I?" But an inkling to her scarce set of innate abilities. She followed with a shrug, resigning nod, and unsettled expression. "Yeah."

The girl's seeming funk didn't bother Maka. Instead of giving it the time of day he would let the sass in her first statement roll off of his shoulder. She wasn't one of his officers, after all. He would unlock the door once more with the Key that Oro had given him, and slide it open, allowing Unki to step in first, and close the door behind him. At the other end of the table, the terrorist was awake, hands cuffed apart on the table, mask pulled down to reveal a relatively young face, covered in the sort of scorn that was learned... ingrained. Maka barely even took note of it as he took his seat at the otherside. "So, as a formality, before we get to the gritty stuff that will inevitably come up... My name is Lt. Maka. The Kuinoichi who captured you is -" he cast a glance at her, and thought better. "Officer Kita. Care to volunteer your name?" The boy moved his head back to get a good look at Maka, his own blonde locks of hair having to be shaken out of his face. "Shun." he spat the word. Maka nodded. "Can we get you anything? Water? Donut?" Maka asked somewhat speaking from a place of hunger himself.
The boy didn't seem impressed. "How about you get my people some fair treatment? Hmm? How about you get the leadership of this place to reign in their dogs?" Maka flared his nostrils, irritation clear. "Shun," he spoke, his tone a warning. Shun called moving like he would jump out from his seat if he weren't also tied to it by his legs. "Alright then. I guess we do skip to the grit. Fine by me. Shun, you're a part of a terrorist cell that operates within Arashigakure. That much is clear. My question to you is simple enough. Answer me and I'll let you to your prison cell without taking any fingers. Or teeth." As if to really drive home the point, he stabbed a kunai Shun hadn't even seen him grab just between his fingers and then dragged it back towards himself. "Or maybe I'll let Kita here allow you to meet the same fate as your two friends." His breath hitched a little, hearing Maka say that. His stress levels had risen, just a little.
"Who is leading this little gang of yours," Maka asked him. His tone was level, eyes unmoving soul stealing blue dots. The boy scoffed. He wasn't nearly scared enough yet, but there was the question. "It's a secret dumbass. Why would I tell you s**t. You aren't going to actually torture me. You all are too concerned with appearances here for that." Clearly he hadn't been awake on the walk up. The kunai came down faster than Shun could react. In fact, Unki probably too would be surprised by the speed that Maka could move at. Blood pooled on the table as the roar escaped the man's throat. "Alright," the man spoke as he removed the knife from the boy's hand and he squealed in pain.
But... there was no wound... or blood? How had... a genjutsu. Impressively well layered over them all so as to keep all responses authentic. Maka smirked, and this time he actually did stab the boy's hand to the table. "I suppose it's time we got started for real, then." Maka motioned for Unki to move forward. Now was the time to see if she was really worth her word, or if she'd back down as the ninja squirmed, unable to pull the knife out on his own.

SHIONxxxxxMORO Shion quietly followed alongside the Anbu member sent to fetch her, for the most part at least. As they entered into the compound, Shion immediately dropped her jaw in wonder. For whatever reason, she had just expected some stuffy old office building with a secret basement to interrogate prisoners, but this was something else. "Well this is pretty rad..." she said to her escort, pausing for a moment to take it all in. "So, where exactly are we going now?"
Her sights switched back from Maka to Shun almost as often as they carried on in their back-and-forth. She felt obligated to withhold much of her facial ques. The girl felt as if this endeavor was like talking to a chocolate coin: both faces of the coin had one half of a solid means of motivation to resist. One face, one mindset, would demand the sentient coin remains brave, indifferent and resisting. The other side would demand that the sentient coin acts in accordance with what is "intelligent" and its definition of intelligent would most vary in contrast to what Officer Maka and fictitious Officer Kita may have for this situation. The "chocolate" aspect was, meanwhile, a childish figure of speech about all things that can melt and could lose both unshakable "faces" when they give in and surrender . A chocolate coin.
It was a considerably abstract or even a farfetched concept but she couldn't help but wonder over her first thought about a connection between candy and a potentially successful interrogation. Unki gave Maka a hard look, briefly, when he motioned for her to move forward. She's fixed her stare on Shun there after and thought about all the parched fish, vegetables, water puddles, clothes, brushes, and the person all made in one swoop (excluding the slight searing of a squid-human's appendage). Those previous endeavors were one-time things.
To do what she had a feeling that she was about to do was interesting, to say the least. Shun's seemingly tacked hand, on the table, was set to endure something that wasn't an illusion like the last bout of uncomfortable heat he had to deal with. Unki had made a half hand seal and placed her open palm on Shun's hand, the same once pinned with the knife, and held firm. Lightly trailing billows of hot air seep from under Unki's palm.

The officers from the office nervously escorted Yuno down to the CORE compound and then into its lower recesses. From there was she brought directly the to the warden's office after the two received some kind of radio signal. They bid her to sit before turning and leaving to head back to the spire. The warden she was sitting before was an older woman, the head of the women's wing apparently. Upon seeing Yuno in person she sighed heavily. "What on earth is that Captain Kosei thinking sending you down here" she mumbled while reading over his order. The woman seemed to be lost in thought for a little while before she finally spoke up again. "In the absence of your father I must obey this order but, it doesn't how I have to carry it out. I don't know what you did to push the captain to this Lady Yuno but I have to keep you hear for seven days. That being said I'll allow you to join the work detail since your stay is so temporary but you'll sleep in solitary to keep you safe."
Later in the day after Yuno had been processed she was brought to the work detail. Today they were handling maintenance of the kitchen. Yuno was brought to the walk in freezer and given a hammer and chisel. [1] Her job was going to be removing ice build up from the freezer. It was quite chilly inside the freezer as one might expect. However Yuno found it focusing. [2] As she got started at chipping away the ice the cold helped her to think straight for once in the past several hours. It was focusing. Each chisel hit was cathartic in a way as well. [3] Time flew as she worked inside that icy box. Eventually it was time to call it quits. Yuno was required to turn the hammer and chisel back in before being escorted back to her cell. [4] [Maintenance]
On day two she was brought to the laundry room to help fix a broken dryer door. Apparently there were small hand screwable nuts that needed removing and only her small hands could get at them easily. While a guard held a ladder for her she was able to get to work. [1] While her hands worked on unscrewing the nuts her mind wandered. She mainly wanted to know why she was here now despite who she was. Plopping the nuts into her left hand her thoughts drifted to her lack of power. [2] The reason she was stuck doing this menial labor was because she lacked the power her father wielded. Slowly all the nuts came loose as she continued to speak and several older prisoners took the old broken door off before replacing it with a new door. Yuno then had to rescrew all the nuts back on. [3] It took a little while but eventually it was done. After that she was handed a spray can of grease to oil up the hinges. It smelled something awful and she hated it. However the job was done and she could move on to other things. [4] [Maintenance]
On day three she was back in the kitchen again. Yet again there was problem that required someone small to handle it. Apparently a sink pipe had sprung a leak and needed to be replaced. [1] Once on location she squeezed into the space with the pipe and got to work. The one thing keeping her going was that the warden had promised this work she was doing would count towards her official record. It was shitty work but if she was gonna be stuck here well she might as continue to grow stronger. [2] An older man walked her through what she needed to do with the pipe. It was pretty simple once she figured out what way she actually needed to turn the damn thing. Soon enough the broken pipe was off. [3] From there, replacing it was a simple matter. She was handed a new segment of pipe and then all she had to do was screw it on at both ends. With her work completed she was brought back to her cell. [4] [Maintenance]
On day four Yuno had no work no maintenance work to do. Instead she was allowed, under the watchful eye of no less than two guards, to travel to the higher floors for janitorial work. Specifically mopping the floors. It wasn't glamorous and the act filled her with an all consuming hatred for Kenshin. Ultimately this his doing she told herself. When her father came back he was going to pay. At least she was halfway to freedom as well. The moment she was free Yuno planned to train and become stronger. It was the only way to ensure that this never happened again. She needed power like all of them had. Her father, Toso, Kenshin. So there she was mopping the floor in a hallway or the CORE compound, what did destiny have in store for her?

SHIONxxxxxMORO Shion waited patiently for the rest of her party to arrive, or at least as patiently as someone like her could. She'd come a long way in the few years she had been a ninja, but Shion would always be easily bored. Luckily for her, the monotony of the long wait would be broken by something she'd have never expected to see; the Kage's daughter being brought in for punishment. Now, Shion didn't know to be certain, but judging from the tone of the child's escort, it sounded like she was right on the money. This was just too much of an opportunity to pass on for Shion. With a small hand-waving gesture to her own escorts, Shion walked off into the compound, following the young girl. "Come fine me when the others get here, guys. I'm uh... I'm gonna go explore."
Shion would watch Yuno from the shadows as the girl worked on today's chore, quietly reflecting. Shion originally had every intention of making the kid's day as annoying as possible, to stir the pot and knock the brat down a few pegs, but something stopped her. Shion actually... empathized with her... oh gross. It wasn't that long ago that Shion had been in the exact same situation. Sure, her week was spent in a monastery with monks, but the circumstances were all too familiar. Resigning to her emotions, Shion let out a soft sigh and stepped out to make her presence known to the girl. "Sup Princess, the man gotcha doin' hard labor? Pretty Bogus. Her tone was obviously mocking, but still not entirely absent of friendliness. Shion might have changed her motives for talking to the girl, but some things just cant be changed.
Yuno didn't fail to smile rather icily when Shion called her princess. It was a thing of facetiousness that spoke to the seething hatred within her core at the moment. It was not for Shion, but hate like the kind she currently held oozed out. "Indeed. I saved Toso's life and Kenshin ordered me sent to prison for seven dreadful days." Her reply was nothing like the way Shion spoke. Yuno was wordy and colorful. Her voice did manage to suppress the hate such that it came out in a way the spoke to her boredom with the present arrangement. Her two guards seemed to have since moved the hands to rest by their weapons. They were meant to keep Yuno from running as much as they were to protect her from others.

SHIONxxxxxMORO Shion rolled her eyes as the guards shifted their stances. She didn't pose any threat to Yuno and, in Shion's delusional headcanon, the guards didnt stand a chance against her. Shion relaxed tone, dropping the mocking pretense; Yuno seemed to be in no mood for it. "Yeah that sounds about right for Kenshin. That nerd is suck a stick in the mud, y'know? Also sounds about Right for Toso. She trailed off, chuckling to herself about how eerily similar the two girls' stories were. "Lemme guess. You got sent on a mission with the ol' Squid, met his father, and he got himself captured..." She jokingly recalling the events of her own time rescuing Toso. GeneralInfo
Hearing that her story sounded right for the both of them left her feeling somewhat confused. Did the bloop-nin really get into danger so often? Did Kenshin really react overly harshly to situations? Things got really confusing when Shion went off on a tangent about meeting Toso's father and Toso getting captured. "Not quite. I found a dropped piece of intel that had a rendezvous location of an actual mission and when I arrived we got attacked. Toso became pinned down and I stabbed the man trying to kill Toso from behind. I fought him until Toso got free and killed him. But both the blooper and Kenshin blamed me for mission not going as planned. Though the bloop... er um Toso did call me capable... still he let Kenshin do this so its his fault too!" her voice was bitter and frustrated. Clearly Yuno was deeply upset by the whole situation. Though her tale probably told Shion all the girl needed to know. Of course none of this would be happening if her father were actually around. "Of course my dad is off gallivanting somewhere and instead of being home with his family. I mean our home was bombed and he's nowhere to be seen." She wanted to cry, this was all terrible frustrating and she felt let down by all of the adults in her life. This was where her hunger for power was coming from.

SHIONxxxxxMORO Ah, there it was. The more the girl spoke, the more the pieces began to fit together. "Look pince... Yuno," Shion began, correcting choice of words to something a little less insulting, "I know you probably hear this a lot, but they're just doing what they felt was right. Please dont blame them too hard... at least Toso and your Father." Shion would approach the girl, not really caring what the guards would do, and placed a supportive hand on her shoulder. "I know it might not seem like it right now, but believe me, what he is doing is very important so him and Jeon can help protect all of us. And Toso... well, Toso is... complicated, but he's a really sweet guy once you get to know him" Shion would say, seeming to go off on a tangent. The girl would briefly hang her head and let out a sigh before looking back to Yuno. "I guess what I'm trying to say is your dad loves you and I'm sure he wants nothing more than to be back here with you." Shions tone was growing more irritated, but clearly at her own inability to emulate the support she had gotten many years ago. "And if Toso really said that about you, then you're going to go far. Yuno looked up at Shion with suspicion, she didn't know how to react to the hand placed upon her shoulder. Outside of her own family and the apes she'd had little contact with others, especially physical contact. That suspicion was hard pressed to go away, even as the older Shion spoke of the importance of her dadmom's work. The truth was that she didn't care what they were doing, she just wanted her parents back. As for Shion's words on Toso, well Yuno didn't know how to take them. Her experience with the squidman thus was far was... complicated to say the least. Though the fact that Kenshin's name was left off of their words felt like a vindication for the little hellion. Her pulse stirred as her desire to be out this place grew once more. Talk of her father's love made her look down at her feet. She didn't really know how to respond to it and that made her sad. Sure he said he loved her but he had a funny way of showing it. Especially when he barely ever made time for her. Still the comment about her going far managed cause a genuine smile to crack through her demeanor.
"I wouldn't say its latent," she spoke vainly of herself with a grin. It was perhaps a bit presumptuous to speak of herself that way but she tended to achieve jutsu milestones faster than her peers, and she had drawn blood in combat with an enemy ninja. How many of her fellow rookie genin could say that? Before she could say more one of the guards spoke up, "I think that's enough of a break Lady Yuno, other areas of the facility need work too." Yuno sighed audibly like she was fed up with everything. More or less the huff that an angry teen gives off when asked to do something they don't want to. "Thanks... by the way." With that she was escorted off down the hall and back deeper into the facility.
On day five they had Yuno back in the freezer. Once more she was given a chisel and hammer. Thoughts of using it to massacre her guard crossed her mind but with only two days remaining such an action would be foolish. [1] Instead she used the tools they way they were meant to be used. The chisel was placed at an angle against the ice, and the hammer drove it into the ice to break it apart into pieces. The process was slow going but it worked. [2] Aside from her baser thoughts about killing the guards she was rather focused on the task at hand. She'd gained a certain clarity while imprisoned in the detention center. Work like this was but a stepping stone, one she had to reach before more important ones. [3] Chipping ice wasn't glamorous, it was actually quite awful. However doing it would get her access to actual missions once she'd fulfilled whatever the limits of the dumb community service period were. It was fortunate the warden bent because of her father, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to do this job. Time simply would have been utterly wasted laying in a cell all day. [4] Maintenance.
Day six came soon enough. So did yet another assignment. This time they wanted to her apply grease to several different pieces of machinery. [1] Much like earlier in the week she had been a kind of spray can with oil inside it. Obviously Yuno was not thrilled about such a thing. The last time she had used it the smell from the can was intensely disgusting. [2] Still she had a job to do and fortunately this was to be her last day on the job. So it was that with a nasty grimace upon her face Yuno got to work. With a spritz there, and a spray here she started with the hinges on some various heavy machinery in the laundry room. [3] From there she had to move on to spraying some various other contraptions. Weirdly Yuno didn't actually know what they were or what they did. Maybe it was some kind of power generator? She wasn't exactly sure. Still enough the hours flew by and her shift was over. [4] [Maintenance]
Finally Day 7 rolled around. This was it, release day. When it finally came time for her to leave Yuno was summoned from her cell and brought through processing once more. She was given her clothes and confiscated gear, as well as the ryo she had on her at the time. After some paperwork was handled Yuno was escorted out of the facility and back to the surface. Upon seeing the stars again she took a deep breath and smiled as her revenge against Kenshin could now begin. The night's cool air nipped at her but she didn't mind. Still with her house blown to smithereens she needed to find a place to stay for the night. [Exit]
