Shockwave

Shockwave wasn't all that concerned about the bolt of lightning rebounding on him. Like all electricity, he merely absorbed it back into his body. He trusted the others to do as he instructed, Landslide to evacuate the building and Olivia to wipe their data, leaving only him and Toast to hold back the aggressors. B.T. was entertaining as always, and if he hadn't been otherwise preoccupied he would have chuckled at her insults. He sent a bolt of lightning arcing in the general direction of Geocentric, an effort to relieve some of the heat BT was taking, but most of his focus was elsewhere. He was waiting for Frost to make his next move. He didn't have to wait long, and the attack wasn't unexpected. Sending ice spikes at the feet his opponents had been somewhat of a signature move for Frost, both as Providence and Dominion. He moved his foot out of the way quick enough, but where Shockwave had expected another ice attack Frost instead tackled him. Both men went crashing to the ground, Shockwave falling over backwards, Mathis on top of him. He hadn't survived this long by not being able to think quickly though, and Mathis would soon regret making physical contact with the human lightning rod. Shockwave electrified his own skin, essentially turning himself into a bug zapper. Their clothing wouldn't be enough to protect Mathis from getting zapped.

Frost and The Providence Forces

The difficult thing about being in a mounted position when someone turns into a bug zapper is that it is really hard to move your body off them without being zapped a few times. Mathis came to understand that dilemma when Shockwave powered up. It felt like a prickling at first but then quickly escalated and as the pain spread over his inner thigh's Mathis quickly grabbed Shockwave's throat with his left hand. He'd burned away the nerves in his hand a long time ago and so he couldn't feel the shocking against his palms and fingers. He was currently adjusting his legs slightly to avoid shocking some reproductively important parts though. "Shut it off or I will." Mathis' sentence could have been interpreted many ways but it did reveal a lot. The most notable part for Shockwave would likely be that Mathis had threatened to kill him as if that was not the current objective. To most this would have been a dumb threat in the middle of a heated battle but Shockwave who'd fought with Mathis and Snow for a long time knew exactly what could happen when a cryokinetic touched you. Mathis wanted to duke it out. He figured Shockwave would be game too.

Jeremy was surprised to be bum rushed by a girl on fire but fire was his game and he wasn't afraid. He also hadn't forgotten his instructions and so as the fireball of a girl came barreling towards him, Jeremy planted his feet. "Bruce! Take care of your woman!" No sooner did Jeremy shout that than did the geokinetic charge B.T. as aggressively as she had charged Jeremy. Meanwhile Jeremy went after Landslide. He saw her helping others escape and figured he should put a stop to that so he threw a torrent of fire in front of her to stop her and then one at her to... well burn her. The other forces kept firing at various Dominion members including Olivia. Meanwhile the Providence B team with the technopath and weather manipulator was doing it's own sneaky thing but to describe that would be telling. Mathis was a good distraction to throw at the Dominion.

“I brought fireproof undies; this is not your lucky day.” It probably wasn’t a good idea to charge at a human torch, but if that’s what he felt he needed to do, she would gladly turn up the heat. When the geokinetic came rushing in, she was caught mildly by surprise, but habitually combusted in self-defense; trying to grapple with her was far from comfortable. She’d tried her best to stay afoot, dragging her boots along the ground as she was pushed back. “Calm your s**t, Cocoa Pebbles, I’ve got bigger fish to fry. Go play with someone else.” She attempted to shove him aside. She didn’t actually mind picking a fight with him, but it was entertaining to brush him off like pink glitter on a Metallica shirt. Maybe they would be more fun to fight if they were pissed?

➳ Eris continued to usher anyone she could get to towards the exit of the building, and she almost walked right into a burst of flame that suddenly jutted out in front of her. The girl let out a surprised squeak as she stopped in her tracks, turning just in time to drag a hunk of ground upwards to block a second stream of fire that was being hurled directly at her. When she was fairly certain the stream had stopped for however brief a moment, she shoved forward, sending her hastily pulled up stone wall in pieces towards the Providence pyro who had turned his assault on her. She took the moment that she hoped her rock barrage would occupy him to urge those she was leading to safety out the door as quickly as she could, though she kept her eyes trained on the pyro, figuring that her own return attack probably wouldn't distract him for long, if it did at all. ◄

Computers down Olivia would keep firing but something felt off. It seemed her luck was poor, though better than others. "Hmmm..." She looked around, trying to figure out where it was coming from. "FIND THE TECHNOPATH!" She shouted to the few who were countering the enemy forces. Running to various positions as she tries to hunt down where her counterpart in the building. "Where are they..." Mumbling as they had to be close, it only made sense to her. She could see shockwave fighting Mathis, and seemed like he was losing.

Shockwave

Oddly enough, Shockwave grinned at the threat rather than seeming all that concerned about it. Then again, if one knew anything about electrokinetics they would know Shockwave could have killed Mathis the second they made physical contact. Perhaps even beforehand if you took arcing into consideration. So why hadn't he? Likely the same reason Mathis had issued the threat rather than simply killing Shockwave, and whatever that reason was, it resulted in two of the most deadly deviants ditching their powers and engaging in a barroom style brawl. The electricity turned off and Shockwave swung for Mathis using his left fist.

Frost and The Providence Forces

Bruce- the geokinetic- was shoved aside quiet easily and he fell to the ground. However when he hit the ground he rolled over and when he came up onto his feet he had covered himself in a sort of stone armor that clung to him from his roll onto the floor. He'd taken note of her habit to combust but close up fighting was still his best bet. He threw two punched towards BT in the air and when he did, small projectiles fired off his stone armor towards her. Meanwhile Landslide was holding her own quite well. Jeremy hadn't seen the wall entirely due to the flames and so when it came tumbling towards him he had very little time to stop the rocks from hitting him. So they did and the attacking force lost their pyro. Elsewhere the Providence B Team had just wrapped up their operation and begun making their way towards the fighting. Olivia would be able to tell the technopath was drawing closer because he'd quite overtly sent a text message to Olivia's phone saying 'Peek-a-boo' only a few moments before a bolt of lightning tore through the closest wall on it's path to her.

Mathis found himself plenty occupied with Shockwave who'd taken the high road and engaged in the little skirmish Mathis had proposed. Mathis had never been a Dominion founder but he'd been a good ally for them. He'd made more friends there than he ever really made in Providence but the friends were not as high quality. There were no Lexi's in the Dominion. But there were dozens of Shockwaves, Clarities, and even Snows. Plenty of good enough friends who knew that the friendship was a lie and didn't have the decency to let Mathis in on it. Maybe that was part of why he'd gone for such a physical fight with Shockwave. Mathis had been his friend. Shockwave had been Mathis's friend. It felt like betrayal when he learned it was all a lie and that hurt. Shockwave swung at Mathis with his left fist but Mathis was still more or less in a mounting position and managed to block it with his right forearm easily. When Shockwave's fist hit Mathis's forearm it would feel like punching a wall and it wasn't necessarily all that far from it. He'd punched Mathis' ice arm and that thing was pretty solid. A fun fact which Mathis attempted to share with Shockwave in the form of several punches to the face.

➳ Eris was rather surprised to find when the brief commotion had cleared that her slew of crumbling rock had collapsed onto the pyro she had been shielding the escapees from. Apparently that was the end of him, and she couldn't help but feel mildly pleased with herself. She didn't consider herself to be particularly fond of death, but this was defense, and they were under attack, and that left them with one less attacker after them. However, another geo was nearby as well, his sights still trained on BT -- he was doing something that Eris had never seen, nor tried before. However, the projectiles he was sending in were going fast, and it was stone, which given the fact that she herself had been able to block fire with stone, she didn't think BT would be able to melt through or get rid of all too easily. "Watch out!" She called, whipping around with her own, much cruder stone projectiles in an effort to cause them to collide with the providence geo's mid-air. The hope was that they would crumble to smaller pieces before they hit their target, but Eris had never fought another geo before -- much less one with apparently superior knowledge to her own. She was still learning, and so much of her skills centered around lifting and throwing as of now. ◄

Olivia Colomar - The Hacker

Though it wasn’t called out for her she jumped, watching the attack fly. But what worried Olivia was someone had her off radar number. "Technopath." Pressing a Red app on her phone she'd toss it aside, the phone exploding near some enemies. She could feel her rival, spinning she'd unload her SMG at the direction of her enemy Technopath. She was the best for a reason, mostly because she normally fried them and their tech. "Come on out you child. Face your better." Without looking she'd fire into a charging enemy.

Shockwave

Shockwave didn't have long to get over his surprise at his fist meeting something rock hard. Or perhaps ice hard was more accurate. So, that's how we are playing. It seemed like Shockwave was in trouble. Mathis was on top of him, and Shockwave's chance to get the first blow in had been blocked. It seemed like all there was for him to do was protect his head as best he could and wait for the furry of blows about to rain down on him to end. One way or another. In fact, his first punch with his left arm managed to connect fairly solidly with Shockwave's face.

Shockwave moved his upper body to the left - Mathis's right - causing the punch with his ice arm to miss. Good thing for Shockwave or he would likely have a broken cheekbone. What he did next was unexpected as he moved upward to wrap his arms around Mathis's chest, under both of his armpits so Mathis's arms were still free, and pulled Mathis downwards. Unfortunately, this would prevent Mathis from getting more shots in. Hooking his right leg over Mathis's left, he also moved to hook his right arm over Mathis's left shoulder. He would then use his left leg to push them both upwards with an explosive force, while also swinging his left arm to add to the momentum in an attempt to flip the two men over. This entire sequence would take a matter of seconds.

Frost and The Providence Forces

The battle for Denver raged on and Mathis' forces raged with it. Bruce drove his hand downwards and with it, all the stones Eric sent his way rejoined the floor. Then he thrust out his first, temporarily forgetting about BT, and jagged stones began shooting up from the floor towards Landslide. Meanwhile Mathis was reminded how adequate of a grappler Shockwave was. Having been flipped, Mathis rolled a little then pushed himself back onto his feet. He didn't let the slight pain stop him from pressing forward. Mathis brought his hands up to his face in a very boxer-like stance as he neared Shockwave again. Mathis bounced back and forth on his feet for a second then lunged with a swing of his left hand. His hope was that Shockwave would try to grab him again because Mathias was also discretely bringing his right hand forward to jab at Shockwave's ribs.

The B team, comprised of a technopath named Alex and a weather manipulator named Gordon, was not quite so easy to find as Olivia might have wanted them to be. Alex knew Olivia would be here, it was the only thing he'd been certain of. And so he had pinged his location off of every phone in the city. When Olivia and her people went to look for him, he would be 'everywhere' while at the same time being no where. When she shot at him, she was firing at another Providence member who'd been pinged, not at Alex. The unfortunate result was that Alex and Gordon realized from their remote location that they were painting targets for Olivia to shoot down so they stopped bouncing their signal around and let Olivia track them to the small motel room they were hiding inside of. Though they didn't stop masking what they were hiding with. Gordon went out front and looked around, waiting for someone to have tracked them
