Chaos street side would soon unfurl outside. Ringing and chiming voices of APD and firest respondents that Shion would have known well by now began to ring. An alarm sounded. One man clad in the standard issue attire swung the door of the ramen shop. "All civilians are to evacuate immediately! Exit through the back of the establishment where trained operatives will aid in your evacuation efforts!"The man only glanced in Kaito and Shion's direction. He'd scoff before turning around. Rather than being on patrol and doing their service they were having a date. Of course, the details on whether this was a mandated lunch period or not didn't matter to his type. Should the duo leave through the front a collection of bear-like owls were surrounded by a wall of soldiers with Arashi patented electric riot shields. All of them with batons drawn and some with the more prominent powerful armaments.
These men would charge and in while the wall kept the creatures contained. One man would let loose of a whip of electricity essentially searing the creatures skin as it let loose a combination hoot n howl. This followed by another officer using the Plasma Cutter to divide the giant beast cleanly in half. Two more of these owlbears would felled with lightening like arrows through their skulls fired by the newly standard-issue Reiken Bow while the lower ranks used their lesser Reiken bows for suppressing fire. Two more were bludgeoned to death and one was practically kamehameha'd with 33-L armor models ability. All in all, it looked like the regular forces had things handled in every sense. Hideous dog like creatures would be discovered having used the beasts large sizes as cover and only now did the forces start facing injuries. These mutts? Would exhale flames and what appeared to be a toxic bile which ate through the 33-L units armor. After a brief panic it was sniped off the man by a a comrade.
The unit would then again try and pick up their tempo as the shield unit forming something of an arena began to start spreading wider to accommodate more evasive maneuvers. Explicitly with something to prove should Kaito or Shion have tried to help they would have been dismissed, and all in all it didn't appear that the squadron was struggling too much. A shadow what bleneded with the shadows on the field darted out as if alive snaking its way through the alleyways. Upon that same roof top a fair distance away... "Seems the festivities have begun." A shadowy figure of a dog would return to its master. A conversation it seemed occurred. "Iz that so? Well I suppose I shouldn't have expected much from creatures made to fight one another...no I think it time for us to release the beasts who were trained to hunt the most dangerous game of all...man."
When that was said another button was pressed from behind Shion and Kaito a massive creature appeared with large pincers. Twice the size of the average building these claws did split their recent ramen house in half the roof was lifted with the other claw. The creature seemed blind yet tendrils that seemed to wiggle in the air might have been its sensory organ. That however, would have taken some book learning to discern. The tendrils then would extend into the ramen house and into the building. Inserting themselves into the abandoned broth and meats and they pulsated sucking in the contents like some kind of proboscis. The massive horse lobster thing's tendrils picked up on the duos scent. The very same tendrils extending from its 'lips' in an attempt to ensnare Shion. Her messy eating proved to work against her in the sense it made her scent of 'deliciousness' stronger. However, due to her size and realizing she was not a liquid if it had succeeded in ensnaring her she would lifted off the ground and towards a maw beneath the beasts head which looked like several bear traps stacked atop one another when it came to teeth.
The patrol would be occupied with the small fries for now that only a few took heed to the massive creature to relay warning. Some obscenities were said by several as the patrol remained under duress. In case they were waiting for permission that same man that had barged in earlier announced they were given permission to assist. Of course, he didn't say it as professionally as that. Although right when making that request he would get wombo combo'd by two surprisingly gorilla like creatures where one backhanded his a** into the sky and one coming out of nowhere from a rooftop grabbed the mans legs and micheal jordan slam-dunked the man into the ground below causing a clear upset in the patrol as both banged their chest triumphantly.
((I won't be assigning ranks to techniques here until the actual encounter with Kato. Use thy imagination and just let it flow how you feel it should, make attempts to do things an I'll tell ya how they turn out, but it will me mostly leaning in your favor.))
Kaito beamed at Shion's offer for a spar, but before he could articulate just how awesome he thought that idea was, he was warned to evacuate as hell broke loose. The ruckus had him rise to his feet instinctively as he saw bear-owls brutalized by APD officers. He wanted to criticize the violent handling of them - shouldn't there be a tamer squadron handling animal breakouts? - but things resembling hellhounds soon filled the street.
"What's going on?" He shouted over the uproar only to see a gigantic lobster creature break the ramen house in two - making him jump back reflexively. It reached for Shion and he instinctively threw his hands over his head; the somatic movement generated a ginormous ball of light 100 meters above them, a source of light for his future techniques as well as a potentially blinding source to disorient the animals. It was above the horrendous lobster, so it should scorch the back of the abomination.
Moving his hands back in front of him as gorillas threw an officer into the air and slammed him hard into the ground, Kaito generated a thousand Hikariton senbon in the air above him. He directed half towards the gorilla-creatures and the other half towards the lobster to ensure it backed off of Shion long enough for her to attack it directly. "Who could've made these things?"
Kaito put a hand over his eye as he casted a Hanaton jutsu to allow him to view the area at a high point of view. He moved the flower-eye around the area looking at roof tops and through alleyways. Spotting someone beside a hell hound on a roof top, he brought the eye closer - why wasn't the hound attacking the civilian?
"Southeast!" He cried out without elaboration as he saw a hell hound start charging for him.

A single defense, that lasts an equal duration and is of an appropriate rank, can keep the sunlight from damaging them but it will be destroyed at the end of the post (as per chakra to chakra interactions.) It's damaging range is fairly large, scorching a designated zone of 30m while illuminating entire threads ftom its position centered above where the user was standing where it was casted. It does not move and is 100m above the battlefield. While it is active, anything that looks at it is delivered a single post of blindness.

The flower with an eye may then search the area (subforum) its mobility allows it to hide beneath grown to avoid detection and travel rapidly between threads through the ground. Kaito's sun was successful in causing the lobster beast to begin heating up. Its carapace would start to take on a reddish hue as it would begin to steam slightly, but the blinding effect would be unsuccessful as it lacked eyes, if Shion had been tentacle hentai'd the increasing heat would have forced the lobster beast to release its tendrils as they recoiled in pain from the heat. The beast would assume an inherent defensive nature by bringing its two claws towards it and huddling. Kaito's needles would embed themselves into the carapace but would sink no further.
His alternative attack would have caused the two multi-armed gorilla like beasts to seethe in anger as they sunk into their flesh. Thus would begin a riotous exhibition of on grabbing one of the shield men and proceeding to use one mother fugger ta beat the s**t out of another mother fugger. Following his brother, the other ape man would use his arms to grab two of the men and begin a helicopter maneuver decimating the shield units wall, the hell hounds what were formerly contained began to make their chaotic escapes.
The man on the roof would spot the spying flower, with the aid of his own perceptions and his companions. "Seems we've been found out Brutus. But what will they do about it now? Its not like I can stop them, such is the nature of the beast, hehe." The organized pantheon was falling apart due to the two freakish apes. The hell hounds welcomed the newfound heat in fact they began to glow and steam as if they were home. While the platoon had fell the owlbear armada it was clear in order to minimize casualties one would need to stay behind and face off against the beasts while the other went for the ring leader, of course there was the option to leave it to the current squadron but there was no telling how they'd fair given their current leaderless condition.

SHIONxxxxxMORI Shion was always one to wear her emotions on her sleeve, or rather on her fists. The moment the sirens began blaring, her mood soured. Another ruined wonderful date, ruined; at least it wasnt her fault this time. Even so, this would come as no consultation for the little firebrand. Bakuton chakra crackled to life around her fists as they clentched under the table, and everything slowed to a crawl around her. As the crab broke its way into the ramen bar, Shion instinctively began to move to protect Kaito and the other patrons, but it seemed like he had beaten her to the punch. Good.
With the crustacean behemoth blinded by pain, Shion threw a wild punch, stopping it just short of the beast. From her fist, a cone of explosive energy rippled forward in an attempt to shred the crab's weakened characpace. With any luck, the shockwaves would also have some effect on the other beasts as well. From here, Shion would p***k her thumb on one of her canines, shifting into a position to draw a quick seal on the ground and summon a beast of her own. A bolt of lightning impacted the ground and smoke flooded the street for only the briefest of moments, but when it was finished, the towering Inkunzi stood ready to fight. "Lord Inkunzi, i humbly request you errect your grand barrier. We cannot let our quarry escape our hunting grounds," Shion requested, head politely bowed to the great cat. The towering feline remained stoic, only shifting his eyes downward to meet Shion. "Ah, young Shion. It has been some time. Even as a professional huntress, you still have much to learn, I see. Very well. I will allow you to hunt in my domain," the King of Cats' voice boomed over the district as he lifted an open maw in a mighty roar. Over the entire district, a barrier was erected. Nothing was getting in and nothing was getting out. The threat was quarantined, but far from dealt with.
With Inkunzi's roar, those who allied themselves with Shion would feel a sudden surge of energy, inspired by the beast's might. With this surge, Shion let loose a roar of her own, mimicing her liege. A rippling cloak of blue chakra flowed forth from her body, wild and untamed. The raw bakuton energies she had released then shrank back, coving Shion in a glowing aura. "The district is blocked off. The enemy isnt escaping any time soon. Let's help these officers first," Shion shouted back to Kaito. With that, Shion would launch forward in another explosive assault on the crab in an attempt to finish it off for good with another rocket-fueled punch.

Kaito was surprised to see Shion fight. She fought in the same fiery way she spoke, but she was so strong and unrestrained, Kaito had to force himself to peel his eyes off of her and continue fighting. He was in awe of the barrier she constructed - it didn't look like a typical fuuinjutsu - but he buried the thought for later and followed her instruction to assist the officers.
He shot an arrow of pure light towards the gorillas to try and keep them off the officers - they'd either be blinded or burned; either way, out of the fight temporarily if not for the remainder of the battle.
Then, he took his whip out from his belt and lashed it once in warning at the dogs. Then he channeled chakra into it, whipping at the dogs to nauseate them into submission, though any that directly felt the whip would bear a permanent scar from the strike. Kaito's heart ached at the idea of hurting animals, but ones that could take out an entire squadron of officers needed to be put down immediately.
"We can't let Kato get away!" Kaito said, turning towards Shion for just a moment, his right eye still closed to maintain the flower eye sensory technique.

As kaito tried to 'tame' the hounds he'd find that they weren't lions. Reactively in response to the whipping did a pack retaliate by releasing what seemed to be bile from their mouths. The same substance would make contact with the whip and unless it was made of some sort of unique material would begin to deteriorate not unlike the armor of the earlier officer unit. However, it did succeeding in flaying a few despite the officer's reservations. Simultaneously, the sun what was above the lobsteroid continued. The claws of the creature as sturdy as they were, were unmatched by the furor of Shion's explosive techniques. Chitinous exoskeleton scattered from where the claws were and madly did it then attack the cause of its suffering. This was not Shion however, in fact it seemed to care less about her and the other beings currently in combat. Rather as its shell began to peel away slowly, it rose what was left of its claws opened them and like a vice CRUSHED. The light users sun. This was not without consequence as the creature let loose an agonizing scream what shook the soldiers and the animals alike. Where there once was a claw was nothing. Lacking in a limb was the beast and likewise shortly after this occurence did its shell begin to crack.
Of course beneath a shell was the soft sensitive tissue that would eventually become a new exoskeleton but being forced out of it aside from molting meant the fragility was exponentially higher. The other arm of the beast went limp, and the tendrils near its mouth once shriveled started to move again with the sun gone. The four-armed beasts aimed to be struck with the pure arrow of light had their skin flayed on its approach, they were far too busy playing with their 'food' to have noticed but the adrenaline kicked in. The exchange would involve one of the creatures throwing his hostage into a nearby building immediately falling unconscious likley with several broken bones. While the other well, his was far more visceral if not slightly an intelligent reaction.
Of the two men he was helicoptering the leg of one was ripped clean off from the centrifugal force and and before the strike could directly make contact with this particular beast did he bring the body of the other hostage in front of him. Ultimately causing Kaito to inadvertently strike his comrade and give him damning wounds in the process. Fact of the matter was, friendly fire was a prevalent threat. Had Kaito not risen his sun so high to combat the lobster beast the grounded officers would have been feeling it. Shion was lucky to have her inherent built in heat tolerance as any other individual unless having been korabo'd with may have been burned as well having been so close.
Chaos and friendly fire aside, the officers attained their second wind due to the distracting nature of Kaito's attacks, they would capitalize on this opportunity and in a similarly visceral manner crush and bisect the two wounded ape creatures. What Kaito's blooming eye would bare witness to was the man being eneveloped in a dog-shaped shadow and then vanishing entirely. Things seemed to be looking up before what was the sound of whistle occurred. All of the remaining creatures still alive vanished in puffs of smoke before suddenly roaring flames filled the area in a wave of overwhelming heat centered on the nearby roof a glance away. The unit of officers would have been enveloped caught by surprise and suffering severe burns thusly leaving only Kaito and Shion but they to would have to face the wave of flames.
Through the fire and the flames of the now emblazed district belting heat in constant did a blurry visage speak distorted by the heat waves. "You aren't the only one with pets that know tricks...Takemaru." A great danes visage was standing beside the man. He would let loose a bark that echoed, and Shion's demon cloak would vanish as to would her natural heat resistance granted by her blazing cat acquaintance. As would her ability to communicate with the Nibi as if the bark had caused the cat to flee in fear. An exaggeration of course. The dog however, would then speak. "Consider debt repaid, I will no longer aid you in these endeavors Inuzuka and knowing what you've done I'll ensure the others will know of it as well." It would vanish in a puff of smoke only after giving the creature of a race they had a long-standing blood feud with, a defiant glare. Cats and dogs, after all, were often like oil and water.
"The cornered dog either eats or becomes eaten and I'm not feeling like being on the menu today." The flames that were collectively spread among the thread would suddenly pulsate rapidly until eventually concentrated spheres of flame floated in around the man, without another seconds notice did these balls of flame lash out and would unrelentingly pursue their targets. Two orbs concentrated on Shion while the other Two on Kaito. Any attempts to evade them would fail, they'd follow their target like bloodhounds as they faintly took the image of dogs heads, but this was not done haphazardly. Should any attack be made on these concentrated flames they'd burst in their all-engulfing radius. More tactile still. Their pursuits would be spaced out and angled in a manner to where if attempting to rid of them with one massive radial attack the others would veer away to continue its pursuit. Coming out 'unscathed' would have been a nye near impossibility unless having a prominent defensive jutsu. Right out the gate not unlike Shion. this man would be pulling no punches since having discerned his opponent a jinchurikki.
Takemaru ▰ Demon Cloak Bark | Rank S | Cost: Chakra Takemaru barks loudly against a target who has activated a demon cloak. The nature chakra in the bark causes the demon cloak to be de-activated. The opponent cannot re-activate their demon cloak for two post nor can they communicate with their demon in any way. This technique has a five post cooldown.
▰ Fire Release: Great Flame Annihilation [ Katon: Gōka Mekkyaku ] | Rank S+ The user inhales deeply, gathering chakra in their lungs before exhaling with a mighty breath. With their exhale, an immeasurably intense flame is produced that creates a massive one hundred and fifty foot wall of flames that spans out in a wave before the user and washes over anything in it's path. This technique does not suffer elemental weakness to water when colliding with techniques A Rank and lower. Those contacted by the infernal wave suffer tier four burns and the entire topic is subject to burning for six posts following the attack.
▰ Pandemonium [ Daikonran ] | Rank S+ A technique that is exponentially increased in strength depending on the amount of burning that has been applied to a battlefield within the topic and what is active at the time of use. The user creates four orbs of fire without the support of other techniques. These four orbs are approximately one foot in width and each explodes with a tsunami of flames that expands in all directions for one hundred feet a piece after seeking out their targets for up to four posts without upkeep. These flames all inflict tier four burning and burns upon those in the area who are undefended. In addition, for each technique's burning effect that was active during this technique's activation, an additional orb is created that has explodes to cover an area of ten feet per rank of the technique the burning status was attached to. These orbs may be kept active and seeking targets beyond their three post limit by paying an upkeep of eighty chakra per post.

The fireballs came at Kaito with the intent to kill. Their purpose was to not be dodged. Fortunately, Kaito had no need to dodge. As the two orbs of flames narrowed onto his location, a cloaked figured appeared. A familiar aura of demonic looking energy radiated from the sword in their hand. Over Kaito Avalanche leaped from and landed in front of him. In their jump the masked figure sliced their blade through the two orbs. Rather than detonate the orbs, however, the chakra within them was drained, which thus disarmed the technique. Without looking back, Avalanche let out a disgruntled sigh. "Working with Shion? You do realize that she works with that fool Toso, correct?" They said annoyed. Since Kaito was someone they reluctantly grew to appreciate, it vexed them that he was in the company of one of the Arashikage's advisers. While the group was saved by Selina Rosewater, another one of the advisers, at least she was a personal friend of Kenshin, which meant that she could be trusted. Shion was a wild card, which meant that she could not be trusted.
SHIONxxxxxMORI The fireballs posed little threat to Shion. Rather than juke or dodge, Shion simply dodged the pair head on, leaping into the air to meet them along their path. As the twin infernos made their mark, the heat and wash of flames would be fanned away as a rapid, two-pronged explosion erupted from Shion's body. The flames would be scattered the the winds and dispersed, leaving the girl unscathed. As she landed, Shion would spin around, glaring at the new arrival. They were a masked ninja, but not one of her own. A vigil ante taking the protection of the citizens into their own hands. What's worse, they appeared to have a grudge against Toso. Then again, they did save Kaito; perhaps this was someone she could trust. Ugh, she didn't have time for this. "Hey, masky, stick close. We got our target pinned," she'd call out. Turning to Kaito, she'd give her date an encouraging grin. "Let's get this over so we can get back to our day, huh?"
"Alright, let's go. Matatabi, if you will," she'd say, turning back towards their target. No response. "Hey, are you..." Shion could typically see Matatabi in her mind's eye, even when the cat was giving her the cold shoulder, but now she saw nothing. No trace of the demon. For the first time, in a long time, Shion was unnerved. Who the hell was this guy? Okay. No biggie, we've got other tricks up our sleeve. Shion gave a mighty war cry, stamping her feet to the ground, letting another wave of rippling blue chakra overcome her. This time, rather than form into a crackling coat of Bakuton energy, the aura took the shape of a translucent suit of armor with oversized gauntlets around her fists. Kato was about to know the power of the Kaiser's Armor.
In a burst of speed, Shion raced towards her target, boosted on by her inhuman speed and the crackling energy of her armor. The gap was closed in moments. Shion would decent upon her prey like one of the many vicious hunters she studied under. Her right hand swung wide, coming in fast for a punch to the core, the force of which would shatter the very earth itself. As her fist came to its end, a powerful blast of energy would ripple outwards, crackling with lightning and the raw ire Shion felt in that very moment.
Her assault would not let up. Shion would be right back in the man's face with another strike, this time pulling the elbow of the arm she just swung with back towards her in a double-edged strike. Using the momentum of this backwards strike, Shion would spin around, bringing her foot upwards above the man's head. Once her rotation ended, Shion would bring the heel of her boot down onto the man's skull in a thunderous strike. This man would pay for ruining her date... oh, and the weird animal stuff. That sucked too, i guess.
Techniques Used: - Kaiser Armor | Rank S | Spiritual The Kaiser armor is a staple of the style. In it's base form it is not visible to the naked eye but chakra floods every inch of the user's body. While active, the armor prevents damage equal to it's own rank. In addition, it prevents the user from having their DR decreased below their natural passive states.This armor lasts for three posts at C rank and an additional post for every rank additionally applied.
- Kaiser Fist | Rank A | Complex [+30 str DR total at +36 spd DR] A powerful straight forward punching attack that requires the Kaiser Armor be active. The user gathers their chakra into their fist, releasing it in a straight punch, rotating the fist as they extend the arm outward. The strike releases a fifty foot wave of concussive force that easily bruises those who are impacted by it. If stricken directly by the user's fist, bones are easily shattered. The user's strength is increased slightly per rank of the technique.
- Elbow Bolt | Rank S | Simple [+24 str DR total and +36 spd DR w/ no reflex bonuses] The user charges forward five feet per rank of the technique with a slight increase in speed per rank of the technique. The user extends their elbow outward as they reach the target, slicing into them with the joint. The sharp impact of the strike stuns the target, removing all reflexive increases when interacting with this technique.
- Guillotine Drop | Rank S | Complex [+30 str DR and +36 spd DR] The user raises their leg above their heads and brings it down in a might axe kick that fells the strongest foe, flooding their heel with chakra. For each rank of the technique it gains a slight increase in strength. This technique treats barriers and defensive ninjutsu one rank lower.

The only way to stop this to defeat the King, force him to be unsummoned, or run out the timer. He also can end it early. Finally, this skill takes one activation from the king per post. -
It was a good thing Kaito didn't have to worry about the dangerous fire balls chasing him; Avalanche's appearance was a sudden, but amazing, surprise. It eased his nerves that Avalanche was up and fighting after the fiasco at the temple. The two do-gooders would need to catch up on that, too.
"Avalanche! You're here!" His excitement was evident with the big, goofy grin on his face, though he pointedly ignored the comment about the Arashigakure so as not to incite an argument during the fight. "Your timing is impeccable. Do you see what happens to the streets of Arashi when you aren't around?" His comment was more of a tease, but he had a feeling Avalanche would take it in earnest.
He didn't stick around for the reunion and instead closed in on Kato with Shion, though he stayed back as he watched her powerful Kaiser armor and her overwhelming attacks. "Like an ANBU captain alright," he muttered in absolute awe, feeling useless but also... y'know, in awe.
"Will you come peacefully?" He asked Kato as he prepared a hikariton arrow in his hands like before, ready to loose it on Kato at the sight of any movement.

"Exhausting." the Inuzuka would say when Shion dodged his attacks and the newcomer going so far as to essentially disarm them. He'd reach to his side with what would have likely been a knifes sheathe. However, that was far from the case. Shion would dart inward and when she did she'd find her seemingly unholy god slaying fist being stopped in its tracks...by a pair of wooden chopsticks. The concussive force would unleash from the punch causing both Kato's hair and Shion's own to flutter but Kato would stare down the girl with a look of tiredness in his eyes but an irritated tired as opposed to an exhausted tired. "Persistent." He'd then end up riding and enduring the current as he was sent into the air.
Similarly, when Shion went in for her follow-up attack he'd again swat it away as if it was a mere fly. Was he truly this unfathomably strong? Had he made her weaker? No the Kaiser Armor would have prevented that. No...his techniques didn't weaken they outright found the most pinpoint primed areas of impact and like striking the weak point of a shell make any form of physical prowess one had completely irrelevant. Although...his eyes would narrow to a shadow on the roof when Shion would loose her third attack. Implying ultimately it seemed he couldn't keep up with her duress. Then suddenly in a leap The Inuzuka was swallowed and enveloped by a Shadowy glob right at the peak of her leg drop where is dispersed into a shadowy smoke. Her kick would land on nothing and in an Omae Wa Wo Shindeiru moment would the man appear in a shadowy form behind her. "You've got an interesting ability there." The 'attack' in question would be one made not on Shion but the permeating blue aura she had which would have been utterly unexpected. In a quick swiping motion would he slough that lovely protection of hers and in turn give it to himself if he was successful.
The black blur whether he had succeeded in gaining her one hundred percent unique keystone and likely perchance blow her mind in doing so would land on the subsequent nearby roof before the shadowy blob emerged and revealed itself to be a--- dog?"No wonder dad died to you cloud nin on that isle of squid. It really is a dog eat dog world." he closed his eyes as Kaito then made his demand he resign peacefully. He looked at the shadowy hound whom in turn gave it's master a look as if it knew something he did not. Only after it had looked at the additional new arrival. The man sighed.
He'd raise two fingers. "On two conditions. One, tame the shrew." he'd say referring to Shion who likely would now be able to shift her momentum by now. He'd then look back at Kaito. "And two. Answer this question. Do the weak deserve to live?" He'd then affix his gaze on Shion while his dog focused on Avalanche. To show good spirits he'd quell the flames that had engulfed the district. Kato was strong, true, but he wasn't strong enough to handle what his companion had informed him. Despite what seemed like an agreement to surrender depending on what the answer was he'd receive he very well had the nerve to die here and now. Even though unbeknownst if attacks like the prior continued that would be sooner rather than later.

By performing korabo with his Inuzuka partner he can impart this ability to them for a single post.
Avalanche's smirk grew as Kaito bounced off his usual banter. "A hero's work is never finished." They said in regards to how busy the activity was. When the boy went off to assist Shion Avalanche pursued as well. The masked one stood in front of Kaito as he drew his arrow in order to better provide him with cover. As Avalanche watched the man's counter attack, however, it was clear that he was not truly trying to kill. His offense was entirely defense, which meant either he knew that he was not strong enough to defeat the two tailed demon host as well as a few ascended extras, or he didn't truly want to defeat them. It could be a combination of both, but the line of inquiry caused Avalanche to disarm the aura around their sword, and relaxed their arm to let it hang by their side. "Justice does not discriminate against weak or strong. It exist so that everyone has a fair chance at life, which means I stand for all as well." They said resolved. Even though Avalanche was the intruder to this situation, this question seemed poised at everyone, which meant that they could answer the question as well. While the second demand was something Avalanche felt comfortable answering, the first one was not. Avalanche knew that their way of handling Shion would entail more violence and possible bloodshed. Therefore, their solution was to let Kaito handle that aspect. After all, if Kaito could not get someone to listen to them, then who could?
SHIONxxxxxMORI Shion grimaced as her heavy blows were so easily deflected. She would have let the rage it filled her with consume her if it werent for the man's offhanded comments of something Shion had long ago pushed to the back of her mind. She'd stop dead in her tracks as the events of her first mission played back to her on loop. No, he couldnt be.
Shion shook her head, throwing the thoughts that gripped on to her away. She couldn't afford to get distracted. Thankfully, an equally irksome comment found its way out of the mouth of Avalanche. Some spiel about justice and the weak. They sounded like that buzzkill, Kenshin. "What, are you stupid? Everyone does... even nerds like you." Her words were casual, a stark contrast to the death stare she was locked in with the man. She'd talk it out for now, but would move to break the man the instant he did anything she found remotely sketchy.
Kaito sustained the bolt of light in his hands, though Shion and Avalanche had both eased off the offensive in lieu of conversation, so he didn't feel real loosing an arrow if they were attempting a detente.
Kaito narrowed his eyes at the shrew comment, almost releasing the arrow on "accident." "'Tame the shrew,' okay, first of all: how old are you because yikes." However, the eye roll waited for Kato's follow up remark, which Kaito allowed the others to respond to before releasing a dramatic, tired groan of his own not unlike a child being reminded to do a chore they've been putting off for hours.
"Okay, seriously, what is it with you goons in Arashigakure and the psuedo-philosophy? 'Do the weak deserve to live'? There's no universal metric for strength or weakness, which kind of plays into all of us being unique people and like, don't you know that we only made it to the top of the foodchain through teamwork and that we ourselves are social animals? Like, come on dude, for a one-note animal loving baddie like you, I would think that stuff is grade school info. You really let all these animals loose in my village because you want to cull the weak? Grow up and share your toys, dude." Kaito's lack of professionalism elegantly mixed with his hippie-dippie mother's religious and feminist teachings made for a speech fit for a gender studies major - that is, someone wholly unprepared for the real world. Well, if he didn't have a hikariton arrow in his hand and plenty of jutsu in his arsenal and his fantasy three in battle.

"Old enough to realize realities bitter truths." He'd stare down at Kaito before the cloak of flames he had stolen from Shion fully manifested. Shion's flashback was the likely cause of her not realizing she no longer was protected by it. "That all life is not created equal." Kaito, his words were like that of pre-pubescent babes who had yet to attain the wisdom of the years and yet the man called Kato would correct him. "Cull the weak? No, my aims were to make the weak strong. You say there's no universal metric? When you walk down the street and step on an ant, it dies. Do you pity the ant? That is nature, the bitter reality, the weak die and unless they are provided the means and opportunity to grow stronger to evolve into the penultimate they will to will die. Natural Selection. Those that survive grow stronger. Those that grow stronger survive longer. We didn't survive as a species through something as simple as teamwork we survived by devouring and walking on the corpses of the beings we deemed lesser than us!" He flared emotively.
Kato looked out at the great horizon. "Five years ago, I was but a simple and confused man, orphaned, I filled the void with vice and the suffering of other living beings and then realized when it all fell apart and became trapped on this rock, our existence, is built upon the exploitation of the weak and powerless." his eyes would shift to the masked 'man'. "You preach about justice, that justice will prevail, but who decides what justice is! The one's still alive at the end of the day because it is those people who BECOME JUSTICE!" Kato closed his eyes again and crossed his arms. "In the end, you can cover up all your cruelties with every niceness or justification in the world but when you look back at all the misery and death you've caused along the way you realize that it's all irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. What's done is done. Its something we've done since the dawn of time and while others try and resist this it's only in man's nature to be cruel and if that cruelty breeds a stronger tomorrow for the weak to become strong. I will play the villian to make it a reality. The cruelty done unto me that was my fathers death is what molded me into what I am today...and as such."
He opened his eyes filled with conviction. "The cruelty that is my death will make you all the stronger!" The man didn't move he had assumed a stalwart posture. His long-windedness coming to its conclusion the shadowy canine beside him having its dark hairs stand on end. Then he reached into his coat removing something of a pen looking device. "For if you don't kill me. I will release another step in the evolution of this cruel world." Whatever the veiled threat was it likely had something to do with how he released the earlier beasts from before, there was no telling just how many the man had at his disposable or just how varied they were. He seemed to invite death and his ramblings carried with them the undertones of a man made jaded. A man whom accepted the role of being the villain if being the villain meant the slightest chance that those who were now weak could one day overthrow those who were strong. That train of thought likely contained far more depth to it. Such as was there more than simply his so-called father's death that drove him to this point. He posed that the Shinobi before him all recall everything they've done that lead them up to this point. The lives they may have taken, the cruelties they have done. While they 'justified' their feelings and actions the man named Kato embraced it as the nature of things and pointless to fight against. An Eli5 version of as Kaito put it his 'pseudo-philosophy' - "Everyone does bad things every day, people inherently do bad things, so what point is there in being not bad when being bad comes naturally and perhaps something good could result from that bad."
SHIONxxxxxMORI Holy s**t you're perfect. Shion's heart almost skipped a best when Kaito broke the serious air the dog dude was vibing on. She tried to stay professional, but it was too hard. Her stance loosened as a snicker escaped the confines of her lips and rapidly evolvee into laughter. "Oh goodness, i needed that." The man's speech could do little to sway her position now. Not that it would have worked in the first place. Sure, Shion had no issue fighting when she needed to, but killing wasnt her thing. Cycles of violence could be ended without death, and she tried her best to avoid the act. "Dude, i was never gonna kill you. Break your legs? Sure. Take you to jail so you can get some help? Definitely. But like... im not killing you." The moment of levity Kaito graciously provided would not last. Shion's eyes locked in on the hand now holding the pen-shaped mcguffin. "Did I say legs? Scratch that. Maybe I'll start with the hands."
