A second helping of Rieyar's snowy paper manifestation quickly greeted the clone's arrival as it pushed past him, racing the ranton and beginning to form a break ahead of it. Unfortunately for the medic, while they could present a short term defense from the effects of the technique, the normally offensive Origami jutsu of their clan presented little long term stability. It was capable of effectively getting in the way, but they simply couldn't make enough paper to consume it like they had the storm - and as a result the ranton was destined to remain a threat. Even as they obviously struggled to reform themselves at the head of a large plot of crops, Rieyar's paper was already failing at its edges - burning away at its thinnest point despite a hand urging it to stay.
The child's free digits summoned a card like a magician using sleight of hand, and set it carefully in front of themselves where it hung as if pressed against an invisible pane of glass. A single finger tapped the back and the sealing formation on its surface glowed a cool blue. The barrier it created was insurance, but Rieyar knew they had only one course of action that might result in anything other than becoming a chew toy for the yokai. This would protect them and a small amount of the surrounding area, about fifty feet from his spot in any direction, but little else, and likely only long enough to allow the use of a backup sealing technique that the medic dearly wished not to use. If the techniques used by the real Junpei were any indication, even that backup plan might not work. About the only way this didn't end badly was if the kid got it right in one. Even a success in this situation left a child not trained in combat against a disciple of the shinobi god of death with a single barrier the only thing standing between them, and a sea of ranton waiting to end the fight with any misstep when said barrier was inevitably broken.
Rieyar finally abandoned the Origami Technique's paper creation to its fate, adding no more as they prepared another card, this one tossed effortlessly to a point just outside the barrier where it exploded in a large puff of smoke, projecting a sealing formation. Rieyar suspected based on the method by which the yokai was brought about that they'd follow the same rules as any summon, but that was an educated guess at best. They did not have enough experience with combat sealing fuinjutsu to actually know. If their guess with extra steps worked, the yokai would return to where it came from, and at the very least this particular area would be safe from it without the real Junpei's reproduction of the steps he'd taken. If the clone managed to stop Rieyar's jutsu somehow, well, things would get complicated extremely quickly. For now all the medic could do was watch the ranton crest over the rapidly withering form of their paper and try to catch their breath.

The medic positively heaved a sigh out as the yokai disappeared, what had been focus fading into a hint of terror slipped instead in to relief. Their estimations of expenditure had actually been a little under estimated, something to record for later. Rieyar's momentary lapse in focus came to a rapid end, as Junpei pulled the child's fear back and amplified it with a simple sentence. It was clear that while they were certainly a capable civilian, they found themselves out of their depth as the jashinist angrily advanced to do what his companion never got the chance to. Instinct was curiously capable of drawing out the seldom considered when it was most needed, no matter how raw. Training provided the foundation on which to refine and more readily access it. Rieyar had one, and not the other, something that would become clear by their subsequent actions.
Their feet backed away instinctively despite the barrier. Eyes shifting to try to find a way out, only bringing about near panic as they realized the tactical error of attempting to stop a jutsu they didn't actually have a counter for. The barrier had saved a fraction of one plot, their paper was gone, and as Junpei approached, their barrier was about to go with it. They could have ended this entirely for less chakra than they'd spent putting themselves at a massive disadvantage, and never had anything even resembling a fight. They carried no weapons with which to use their miniscule Bukijutsu training. These little things compounded as they stopped near the far side of the barrier. The defense burst a moment later and their near unconscious retreat from Junpei immediately made things even worse. The ranton felt like snakes burrowing their way into the medic's calves, and they gasped audibly, struggling to move limbs that now felt like they weighed tons. "I... I must stop violence if I am able, regardless of who it is against or my relation to them. Please stop, all I want is for you to leave the people of the village alone." Rieyar seemed to stop attempting anything after their request, falling incredibly still as their eyes drifted closed. It was unlikely that Junpei would allow the meditation to continue very long, but the time to think would likely help in this situation. There were very few options here, but Rieyar had always been taught that resisting the immutable was a waste, a teaching now tangibly backed up by their current predicament. They'd rushed to stand before a powerful foe, and missed the obvious solution right in front of them. Their desperation to prevent violence now brought it upon themselves, and necessitated its return some form. The teachings were clear though, Rieyar would wait to be acted upon, and accept that what would happen would happen. If this was where they were destined to die, then devoting all of their energy toward attempting to change that might cause them to miss a way they could do good in the moments between then and now. It'd be no different than rushing in to foolishly try to stop the ranton. If they were not intended to expire here, then they would find a way no matter how strong Junpei's clone was, or how weak they were.

It had been a long time since Rieyar needed to do any type of dodging of anything. That day in the library with Hisoka, if they remembered correctly. She was always trying to get them to train with her or rough them up a little. It almost never worked, except for the time that she forced the medic to learn the taijutsu they now employed, ironically by simply pestering them. Rieyar had acquiesced - as Hisoka insisted she was simply worried about them while she was away - never expecting to actually use it for anything and picking the style they thought was most antithetical to the brash woman's temperament. It had unintentionally paid off in Hisoka never being able to catch them with a sneak attack again.
Here it would play a different role. Saving the young medic's life from the jashinist's blade, at least for the moment. They'd thought they were doomed to experience the sensation of the blade twice over; helplessly waiting with legs rooted like might oaks, feeling the blade come for them through the meditation, and then experiencing the aftermath. They weren't even aware they could move as fast as they did. Just enough of a shift to allow their origami clan techniques to take over. The scythe passed right through them, and everything was quiet for a moment, the only sound the paper from Origami Style Dancing fluttering through the air. For the jashinist it would look, at least in that moment, as if they'd split the child clean in two. And then Rieyar's arm moved, sending a spike of paper for Junpei's clone. They were forbidden from being the aggressor, but the medic was allowed to defend themselves from death, and they'd more than cleared the threshold for when it would be reasonable to assume their life was in danger. They didn't want to destroy the clone, because its experiences of their encounter and Rieyar's actions would return to the real Junpei, but it just didn't seem like this would do anything but escalate from here. They had to try to stop this now, or the experience returning to the jashinist would be one of stepping over their body to continue an assault on civilians that didn't have the means to defend themselves. "I'm sorry." Rieyar's voice was nothing but dejection as their paper did its work, a reflection of how disappointed they were that they lacked the skills to resist striking back against Junpei. They'd taken up their mantra expecting to never do anything like this. Expecting to live simply in Kumoito, and maybe travel the road providing care; but here they were in a center of shinobi power, doing harm to defend not just civilians, but one of the prime apparatuses of violence the world knew. It was dizzying.
Junpei took no pleasure in slicing the child in two. Sacrificing for Jashin came from need and there was no need here. It was extraneous violence born of the ninjas' inability to hide from him as he performed his tasks. However, he allowed himself the briefest moment to consider the child's sacrifice, no doubt made because they believed so deeply in the village or their own responsibility as a ninja; in this moment, he let his guard down. Weakness, Junpei thought bitterly in the half-second before the paper attack dispersed the temporary consciousness.

โฑโฐโฑAnyone looking at the sky above the Drop District would see Kenshin Hyuga, cloaked in dark blue reincarnation chakra, flying above them. He would come to a stop at his immense speed and examine the damage of the area from the Jashinist invasion. The reincarnation chakra from his tenseigan began reconstructing any damaged objects or structures. He was especially focused on the village's flight mechanism to repair any damage to prevent the village from completely collapsing. Once the damage was restored he allowed the reincarnation chakra to dissipate. He then maintained his flight path with haste to the next destroyed area.

An additional 5 chakra can be applied to the blade to prevent it from causing physical damage from thrusting but instead seal tenketsu points and inflict pain similar to a stab wound in the area struck but slashing attacks can still cause damage. Half the resource cost of techniques from the rapier style of Sen Gekiretsu Nagareboshi applied allows the technique to carry the tenketsu sealing effects of a same-rank palm strike such as a B-Rank carrying 64 Palms effects. Getsuruito must be in its rapier form to use this ability and 5 chakra can be spent upon activation of this technique to transform it as such. The Righteous Sword of the Sentinel technique has a 10 post duration before necessitating re-activation and costs an E-Rank amount of chakra. The initial activation of this technique consumes an action but all subsidiary abilities of the technique do not.
Smiting Blade of the Night Watch [ Naitล Otchi no Sumittinguburฤdo ] | Rank X | Bukijutsu [ Lightning ] | Spiritual When this technique is activated it crackles violently with night blue lightning for the entire duration. The electricity from the blade also forms bolts of lightning over the body of the user and appears to supercharge them. Whenever the blade is swung or thrust over the duration the user can fire a concentrated blast of ten bolts of lightning to accompany the strike equal to the rank applied but for only half the cost to initiate the technique. Hatake, Raiu, and Sage enhanced lightning can pass through the blade and apply to these lightning bolts. The bolts cause a thunderously deafening sonic boom and can inflict tier 2 burns upon direct contact with the lightning. Additionally, these lightning bolts can be freely applied to all complex bukijutsu for no action cost to smite enemies. The only action cost is when the technique is activated and all subsidiary abilities of the technique do not consume actions and only chakra. This ability can be used in both forms of Getsuruito.
Draconic Sabre of Moon Sundering [ Getsu Sandaringu no Dorakonikku Seibฤ ] | Rank X | Bukijutsu [ Lightning ] | Complex This is the original ability of the ancient Getsuruito blade and thus requires the original katana form. 5 chakra can be spent to transform the blade to its original form upon activation of this technique. Crackling and thunderous dark blue lightning can be applied to the katana's edge at any rank and the same lightning can form a dragon head formed from electricity over the body of the user for 10 posts. This allows all spiritual techniques the sword comes into contact with to be slashed through and even cut in half at the same rank despite the complex nature of the technique. For half of the original cost to activate the technique a same-rank spiritual electrical energy slash can be sent out from the slash of the blade. This same cost can be applied to any complex bukijutsu to achieve the same effect. The original 10 post activation of this ability consumes an action but all subsidiary abilities do not.

The woman arrived at the Ukyo compound just outside of a field of rice. The compound was typically beautiful and serene, overseeing farmland that frequently served as great landscape inspiration for the many artists of the clan. The ink on her body hadn't dried, though the way it weighed her clothing and movement down unnaturally made it obvious, finally, that it was chakra-infused ink. So there was in-fighting, without a doubt.
The compound was a riot inside. The clan head, Karina Ukyo, was evading ink slung from an older woman. "Madoka, please," the woman called out with the medics in tow, but the older woman paid her no mind.
"No! My grandchildren will not be subjected to trafficking in the name of her pride, Hanako. I must keep them safe. They shouldn't bear the Ukyo name if it will make them a target, and Karina is overstepping in trying to stop me from changing it!"
Karina growled and spat a blob of ink from her mouth that caught the older woman and glued her to one spot. "How dare you disrespect the head of this clan. How dare you think I cannot keep us all safe. I am acting in our best interest. If we start to hide now, we will always hide. Others have tried to suppress our arts and our way before, and we've always prevailed. We would spit on our ancestors if we ignored their sacrifice and hid ourselves now."
A glass bottle was thrown from somewhere in the crowd of Ukyo around the two fighters, landing at the back of Karina's head and exploding wine and glass over her. She hissed from the gash developing there, pulling her ink brush and pointing it at the crowd behind her. In an Ukyo's hand, it might as well as be a weapon of mass destruction. "You will not defy me," she growled. From somewhere in the crowd, an agreeing hoot sounded, only to be met with disapproving murmurs in the crowd. It seemed there was no true consensus.
If the medics looked into the crowd, they would see some people already bruised, battered, and inked up from earlier brawling. Hanako turned to the medics behind her with pleading eyes. "Please. You have to help my clan. We need medical attention, and we can't go to the police for it."

While the pristine land of the Ukyo compound was once homebto some of the gorgeous sights of the countryside of Arashigakure, they now served as the terrible background to a large scale revolt within the clan. Akoto and the twins arrived alongside the hysterical woman who had led the way here. Her young eyes filled with terror and worry for the people here. Akoto was still new to the medical pathway when compared to the other two present. She uttered out a worried prayer, hoping to be strong for herself and the others in need of medical aid. "Be strong, Akoto. Be like Kagerou." she told herself while the older women in the street fought with one another. Across the way, wounded people would sit across from them. The Genin recalled such whimpers and pained noises from her own kidnapping recently. How her friend had lost on eye to these same traffickers that they spoke about. Seeing them made the already fragile heart of the Hyuuga ache even more. Without any thought, she jumped into action. Akoto moved to a young man whose leg was in rough shape. A quick diagnosis just revealed that it was heavily damaged as a result of blunt force trauma and putting too much weight ontobabspranked limb. The result was a painful wound that would ache at the smallest movement. Her hands went over the limb in question as she got to work healing the patient. "I'll treat everyone who's injured. Just get me the ones who desperately need help first.

'Huh. Do we get involved in a clan dispute?' Hotaru questioned his sister as they walked further into the Ukyo compound that seemed to have some sort of infighting going on. 'Well we have to at least help heal them.' His sister replied, the two activating their byakugan then tenseigan to get a better look over the crowd and see what was going on. The twins both looked as Akoto said something about wanting to be like Kagerou. They had heard the name before, but they couldn't recall ever actually meeting the lady. She was a famed medical shinobi in the village from what the twins knew. "Alright you heal them Akoto. We'll try to get everyone's attention and stop the fighting while we heal everyone. Maybe we can find out what's going on." Hotaru smiled as the girl went off to heal one of the Ukyo. The man would then cup his hands over his mouth. "Hey everyone! We're medics from the hospital. Please allow us to heal anyone that is injured. If you're able to walk please go over to my sister Seo and our squad mate Akoto. If you can not walk I'll make my way over to you. Any assistance would be appreciated!" Hotaru would yell loud enough to get the people's attention from directly around him. He would then begin to move through the crowd to give the message while Seo would wave people down from where she stood. "Over here! Come here for healing!" Seo would yell, attempting to set up a good space for people to have healing done.
Though this familyโs affairs were really none of Nanaโs business, he was able to gather, in between the screaming and ink slinging, that there was some discrepancy regarding a younger memberโs namesake. The Ukyo clan was a family of ink-users, and a portion of them believed that the clan name would put the child at risk of being taken into trafficking. Though Nana was more than familiar with the trafficking situation in general, he wasnโt as privy to the many other instances of it outside of his own. As someone born into trafficking, he wasnโt aware as to how it played into the lives of those who risked being taken. He understood the caution over pride; Nana was of the โbetter safe than sorryโ mind, but it appeared that a good portion of the clan members found hiding their name to be insulting, if not oppressive.
Regardless, he found their loud, messy bickering obnoxious.
As Seo and Hotaru began to herd the injured towards the four of them, Nana, without so much a word, started with those nearest to him. Some of the members seemed a little taken aback by his overall lack of bedside manner; he wasnโt rude by any means, but his treatment was impersonal, with little to no conversation or eye contact. Once he was finished treating one patient, he wordlessly moved onto the next.
The medics Hanako brought got right to work, but it would be inefficient at the current rate. Karina summoned giant ink chains to bundle up nay-sayers; the work was slow, as it took time to figure out the location of all of those who disagreed with proudly baring the Ukyo name in the riotous crowd, but she was rounding them up group by group.
Madoka, the older woman, was hit particularly hard with a specific stroke of Karina's brush, twisting her head to the side sharply and causing her to scream out as she hit the ground.
Karina turned and gestured to Hanako and the medics she had brought. "You bring these outsiders here!?"
"They are not officers," Hanako explained with her hands out placatingly, though her words were almost unintelligible through her tears for her grandmother that she couldn't yet reach and help. "They are simply medics for our own. I would not bring officers here; I would never risk our children." The explanation kept the un-chained members of the crowd who agreed with Karina from assaulting the medics, though they were ruthless in assaulting their fellow clansmen and the whole lot of the crowd was hurling insults at each other over the issue at hand.
"If they do not bear the Ukyo name, they must LEAVE. That goes for the rest of you who refuse to keep it," she said as she turned to the chained members of her clan. "If you cannot trust our strength to protect us from the traffickers in the APD, you cannot trust our clan, and you do not belong." Without any telegraphing or warning, she swung her brush out in Hanako's direction to slice her with a wave of ink [ Unnamed Ink Slash | S+ ].

Seo continued to wave on the injured that could manage to make their way over, watching over both the two other shinobi and Hanako. There was so many injured people. How could it possibly have gotten this bad. The corruption of the APD had caused this all. If these people weren't so afraid they were going to be taken, they wouldn't have to hide their names. It was unfortunate, but getting them treated was the priority over trying to get them to trust people again. Getting them treated seemed as though it was going to be it's own issue with the lady wielding the paint brush saying they must leave. Seo saw a sudden flux of chakra in the same lady as she began to swing at Hanako. Chakra appeared over Seo that formed a heavy looking armor that covered her entirely. [ Quaking Armor | S+ Rank | Spiritual ] Seo then stepped forward and rose her arm up to block the Ink strike. The strike would break Seo's armor, but she would remain unharmed. In the brief moment of time she would have, Seo's leg would raise up and drop down onto the brush, attempting to snap it in half with an lightning enhanced kick. Seo would then stand where she was. "Alright." Seo would say. "That's not what's going to happen. We're medics of this village. YOU do not get to tell US what to do when it comes to healing the injured of this village. It's our duty to this village to heal those who are injured and nobody in this village has any authority to prevent us from completing this task. Not you. Not the APD. Not even the Kage." Seo continued. 'Uhhh Seo what's going on?' Hotaru questioned only to receive no reply from his sister. He knew what was going on and he didn't like it, Seo was never the one to be good at speaking in a polite manner. "And I will not allow you or anyone else to injure another person in this room while I'm here. I understand you don't want the APD here. Neither do I. Let's not give them a reason to show up and raid your home because you can't stop fighting each other." Seo demanded Karina, not backing down from the woman for even a moment. Hotaru used his tenseigan to help him get back to his sister and Hanako. Hopefully in the short time he was away she hadn't managed to completely screw things up. "Now you can either sit down and let me look at that cut on the back of your head or you can fight the medic that came to help your people. Your choice."

Akoto would be busy tending to as many civillians as she could, the junior medi-nin frowning while she'd get through healing the fourth majorily injured pUkyo clan member so far. It was a thankless job, with many crowding around her while waiting for healing or just insulting her as she worked. "Ah-Please stand still. I can't heal it properly if you move." she said to another person under the effect of her healing hands. The crowd seemed to ever be growing bigger and bigger the more she worked, with the Genin having to rest to catch her breath. The rumblings of the crowd were mixed, to say the very least. "We've got more wounded! What are you doing?" "The APD has THIS to give us?" "I'm...sorry. There's just so many of you..." Akoto exhaled and would look up at the other few outlying people around the district. The leader of the clan would be facing off against the woman who had rushed to the hospital to give aid to her fallen clanmates. In a heated argument about bringing them both inside of the compound, the leader sent an ink stained technique towards the elder. Akoto moved to rush in front of the technique before the timely intervention of Seo. Akoto found herself next to him while he'd give the run down on what would happen to the Ukyo clan head.
"We don't mean any harm, but you need to let us do our job, Lady Ukyo. We're not affiliated with them, so please let us just work..."

The lightning kick would not only break Karina's brush, but sting her fingers with a tinge of paralysis, forcing her to recoil backwards and hold them close to her chest defensively. "You dare strike me? You dare strike me in my own land? You may not be APD, but you're the same: overstepping your authority because you are determined to do whatever you want." She snarled at the medics and turned her head to the crowd. "Those of you that proudly bear the clan name: remove these outsiders at once."
"Karina! She didn't mean it! She's just trying to help!" Hanako sobbed, hysterics growing as her clan was visibly torn apart on the issue at hand. She had asked for help from the hospital to preserve the lives of her family, not to bring it into greater danger. "Maybe you should all just leave..." The crowd began in-fighting further as some drew blades for the medics and others tried to defend the medics because they agreed with Madoka over Karina.
In any case, ink was flying towards the medics from somewhere in the crowd while the Ukyo fought themselves.
Each outsider is facing two unnamed ink jutsu of their body rank.
