He had nearly jumped out of his skin at her sudden approach. Idiot, he criticized himself, use your head or lose it. Stay aware of your surroundings. He couldn't believe he'd let his guard down after such vigilance. No, he had let his guard down because his time in the village had softened him. Thresher had reassured him that Arashigakurans protect their own. He scoffed before turning to face the young girl, figuring he owed her a response before she thought him crazy. "Yeah, Katagawa's katana. You're not one of the troublemakers that hid it on a rooftop in the market, are you?" He pointed an accusatory finger her way, but he knew before he asked the question that she looked a little too innocent to bother with such things.
Not that he was an expert on innocence. He rubbed a hand down his face and sighed with extra emphasis, rolling his head back as he rested his hands on his hips and thought. "You're like an academy student, aren't you? You can help look for it. The instructors like that: helpfulness." He couldn't grasp any of his memories of the academy, so he didn't really know, but he was good at getting what he needed from people. You had to be, if you lived in a village that assured its people it could protect them but turned around and failed to do so when it really mattered.
"You're probably too young to know any sensory skills, though, unless you can, I don't know, smell metal?" He huffed a laugh at the image he conjured in his mind, then shook his head as he sobered up and jumped to the next roof. He wondered what stupid academy students would think makes a good hiding spot for a sword.

The appearance of the girl seemed to startle the poor boy. 'Oppsies.' She thought to herself but did find it a bit funny that she was able to startle someone. She wasn't really the most intimidating-looking person. Her justu, sure, but Ariella herself, hardly. She didn't actually expect him to respond to her question but he did. He was searching for Katagawa's katana and even pointed his finger to her asking if she was the one to blame for its misplacement. Ariella was quick to raise her hands and waved her palms in and side to side gestures."Oh no. I would never." Hiding a sword from someone just seemed like unwanted trouble. The last thing Ariella ever wanted to do was to get in trouble with anyone, which is why she always followed the rules.
After her response, the boy sighed, heavily. Clearly, this was something he did not want to be doing at all. Ariella just stood there with a smile on her face and hands down by her sides."I'd be more than happy to help you look." She didn't feel the need to correct the blonde boy about her ranking. She did just graduate to genin not long ago and has yet to get her first mission as a Genin. That fact was irrelevant anyway. Agreeing to help in the search of the katana was in an effort to kill two birds with one stone. She was hoping that keep an eye out for a clay selling shop while they searched.
The boy then made a comment about her being too young to know any sensory skills followed up with a joke about smelling metal before leaping to the next building."Smell metal?" Ariella would question softly before letting out a small giggle. Wasn't it his lucky day. The white-haired girl followed the boy to the next building and responded to his comment, which surely he didn't expect. Ariella would watch the boy search the roof for a few moments. Meanwhile she would just stand there with the same smile on her face. "I believe lucky is on your side today." She would say in a cheery tone."I wouldn't say it's a sensory skill per say. But I can point us in the right direction if you know what types of metal the katana was forged from." If Ariella knew which metals it was made from she could "sense" the direction of those metals by using one of her clan's techniques. While most metals are magnetic, those magnetic properties do differ from metal to metal.
Yoshinobu sighed again at his poor luck, but he perked up as he realized the young kunoichi had come with him. The way she was standing and how she immediately offered to help seemed strangely familiar... The cold-shouldered bitterness of Yoshinobu melted away and Yoshiaki, instead, looked over her and felt at home with the display of service. As a young Uzumaki heir, he was born to luxury and he deserved every inch of it.
"The sword," he enunciated more clearly than before, turning his nose upwards slightly as his accent took on something befitting the land of whirlpools moreso than the land of lightning, "is made completely of silver. It comes from Zaishin. The threadwork, however, is a few generations more recent than the blade." His back was perfectly straight, and while he continued to look around as if searching, his eyes were moving only in cursory glances; searching, it seemed, was a working man's - or woman's - game. "In a market full of flea-ridden commoners, it is impossible to find a logical direction for it. Perhaps your strange inner sense for metal will fix that."

The moment Ariella agreed to help the boy his demeanor changed. Posture was more straightened and posed and his speech was more.....eccentric. Was he just hiding his real personality from her to try and convince her into helping? Nonetheless, she did agree so she must do her part. A lady is only as good as her word after all. "Silver you say....Hmmm" She stored the information about the threading away in her memory for now. That's something she would only need to know if she was to see the sword itself. Information like this is best for examining the piece after finding its location. The material of the sword however was a different matter.
Ariella found it a bit strange for a sword to be made out of silver. Most people aren't aware, but silver is actually a pretty soft metal. It was true that silver does not rust or tarnish easily, but due to the softness of the mineral, it's a shocking metal, to say the least. Even silver jewelry and cutlery have a harder metal as its base, like copper or steel, before being coated with silver. Perhaps it was a sword meant for display? She will have to see what it is she can find. Forming a hand seal the young girl would convert her chakra into magnetic energy that should be able to react to silver itself. She was not planning on bringing any silver material to them, but rather using the technique to determine the silver that was in the area and how much of it. The jutsu was only active for a mere moment, so she would not actually make anything move drastically. Though, smaller items like jewelry, cutlery, pocket watches, etc. would surely rattle during this time. Once completed she would lower her hands back down to her sides. She was only able to search their immediate area." Those of the higher class visit here as well it seems."Walking over to the ledge she would scan the area before point to a man walking down the street. "That gentleman, appears to be wearing quite a bit of silver. I'd say the most silver in the area. However, I did not sense the sword in our immediate location. Might I suggest moving a few buildings over?" Ariella would wait for a response before moving to the next location.
This time she was to search just outside of the range she had initially. Performing the technique once again a smile grew on her face just before dropping her hands. Leaping to just one building over she would walk over to a stack of boxes. Reaching behind she would lift up the sword and turn to the boy"Might this be it?" She asked gently. Ariella hadn't seen the sword herself before she her eyes alone cannot confirm if this was indeed the katana they searched for.

For someone who couldn't scent-track metal like some Inuzuka, the girl was proving herself plenty useful. Yoshiaki heard the distant rattling of metal in the streets below but thought nothing of it. He listened to her speak and felt some surprise at her knowledgeability around metal. He had had a private tutor who was obsessed with the cultural and historical relevance of certain metals over others throughout time, but it wasn't as intriguing to him. He did, however, appreciate her gentle guidance through the task until she came across the decorative blade.
"That one is it," he recognized. "The threadwork on the hilt and the decorative but small engravement at the base are unmistakable. I know-" he was standing by Ariella and that was all it took -- a rock came from somewhere on the streets of the market, slamming into his head and forcing him to the ground. The thrown stone wasn't tossed with superhuman strength or anything, but Yoshiaki, unlike Yoshinobu, was too privileged to develop alertness, had had too many security guards since birth to necessitate paranoia or situational awareness.
His eyes shut as he fell, but opening them... Yoshinobu looked around and felt disoriented. This was a few buildings away from where he'd last stood, and yet, here he was, with the academy student and the sword he was looking for. "What-" and before he could ask the question, giggling from below told him all he needed to know. "You stupid brats!" He yelled as he hurried to his feet and looked over the edge of the building, seeing three little academy squirts. "We need to get those little fu- uh, fiends." He didn't want to swear in front of her, though he wasn't really a dignified shinobi to begin with.
One of the kids was the tallest of them, a boy with another rock in his hands. The other two were girls, one with a ponytail and the other with a short bob, and both of them were making faces up at them. Then, the trio looked around and moved in different directions to split up. "Damn it," he cursed. He did not want to round up these rugrats in such a civilian-dense area.

The blonde-haired boy took the katana from her hands and confirmed it was indeed the sword they searched for. Just as he started to inspect it a rock came flying from the streets below, knocking the boy to the ground. Ariella was surprised to see him fall backward because of such a small rock. Raising a single hand her fingertips would brush her lips from the surprise. " Are you alright? That throw didn't seem to be all that hard." She questioned the boy. Her eyes would shift over to the streetway to see a trio of academy students mocking the pair. Her attention was drawn back to the boy as he shuffled back onto his feet to yell at the kids from the roof. It wasn't soon after that the kids decided to split up into different directions.
Ariella walked up to the edge and watched the trio ran away. The blonde boy claimed that they needed to catch the pair."Is that really necessary? The task was to find the sword and return it, was it not?"She didn't see the point. It wasn't part of the initial task."They are academy students after all. We could just simply describe their faces to the instructor. Shouldn't be too difficult for them to find out the identities of the students with our descriptions. They are their students after all." If he absolutely insisted they needed to catch them she would assist."Truthfully, If we pursue. I cannot guarantee the market will......remain unchanged." She said with her same warm smile. The problem is, Ariella's techniques could be quite destructive. She never minded the destructive nature of her techniques, but she is well aware that other people aren't as appreciative of her art as she is.

His level-headed compatriot considered the alternative of not pursuing the troublemakers. She was right about everything, of course, but he still kinda wanted to pummel them. Just a little. It would help them develop character. But he sighed and turned to her with a bit of defeat. "Yeah, no you're totally right." He looked at the gorgeous sword in her hands and smiled a bit. "It'll be good news for-" He was interrupted as fuuin erupted over the sword and caused it to poof away in a small cloud of dust. "No ******** way. They're scholar students. Of course they are." He looked back over the ledge to see the tall ringleader waving it over his head at them, one hand at his face to pull down his eyelid as he stuck his tongue out like a prepubescent punk a** kid.
"I'm gonna kill him," Yoshinobu intoned. He looked back at her and then back at the kid who body flickered some short distance away -- no academy student had the focus to flicker farther than ten or twenty meters, but he was lost to Yoshinobu's eyes. "Can you still track that sword?"

Holding the sword out for display while the blonde confirm it was their sword. The sword's owner would probably be very pleased that they not only found the sword but found it rather quickly too. Suddenly the sword vanished away in a poof of smoke. Both herself and her partner were shocked to see it vanished. Scholar students. Lowering her arms back down to her sides they dangled. Her eyes shifted from her partner down towards the rock at his feet. Bending over Ariella reached down for the rock the student had thrown up at the blonde boy and looked over at the tall boy taunting them. As she held it in her hand she fed her magnetic chakra into the rock. Without saying a word she would throw the rock down at the boy, aimed directly for the sword. Of course the academy student had saw this coming and moved the sword out of it's path. The rock missed its target but gave her a new one. By moving the sword the boy unintentally moved torso in the way, allowing the rock to tap the side of his ribcage."Ha! You missed it! Can't make me drop the sword that easy!" Ariella laughed lightly before responding"Yes, I suppose you are right." It was after than the boy had flickered.
The blonde boy turned to her claiming he was gonna kill the boy. Clearly, these kids can get under his skin easily. Maybe because they made a fool of him by knocking him off his feet with a simple rock. Once the academy student was gone he turned back to Ariella and asked if she could track the sword."The sword, no I cannot.But..." she would say to the boy, pausing before delivering the good news."I can track the boy." She said with a cheery tone and reached into her pocket. Considering she came here in hopes to purchase more she only had a limited amount on herself. By feeding explosive chakra into the clay into her pocket she was able to mold three creatures. Pulling her hand out of her pocket she would reveal that in her hand were three clay sculptures in the shape of tree frogs."One for each student. They will stick to whatever surface you throw them on, those are their orders. If you miss just pick it up and try again." As she spoke the frog scultpures would shift around on the palm of her hand like real frogs, as if they were alive."Now, we must hurry."
With that she would leap down from the building, making sure to hold onto her hat so it wouldn't fly off her head before she could land. Running over to her rock again she would pick it up, this time feeding her magnetic chakra into the rock and extracting any magnetic iron in the minerals of the rock and gathering it around her wrist where it would stay taking the shape of what looked to be a braclet. Taking back to the rooftops Ariella would guide the blonde boy to the location of their first target. Before stopping on one of the buildings. "He should be in the alleyway on just the other side of that building." She would point to the next building over. "Oh! If you can get the frog on the boy. Make sure he sees it. It wouldn't surely be a waste if he didn't" She said just as cheerful as ever.
Leaping down into the streets below she would make her way over to where the boy is. Only taking a few minutes, she would arrive at the opening of the alleyway."I'm sorry to inform you, but you aren't very good at hiding." The boy came out from behind some boxes with a scowl."How lame.""If you would please." She would reach out her hand, that had the iron bracelet, implying to hand over the sword. She was trying to distract the boy in order for her partner to place her creation on him."No way lady!""I see. I'm afraid that simply will not do. Would you agree to some options then?" she bated him with a question and her smile."Options? What options?""Yes options...Option 1, hand us the sword in a show of good faith. Option 2, I take it away by force harming you and your classmates in the process. Option 3.....You die. The choice is entirely yours." As she would give the boy the options her partner would surely be making his move by now.

As Ariella spoke to the young boy her partner hand down what she had asked and threw one of her clay frogs onto the boy. "Oh my god! What is that?!" the academy student would scream. The boy would start to reach down for the frog but was stopped short just before touching it."I wouldn't do that if I were you. You see.... that's an explosive made by yours truely." The boy would look at her with shock."Explosive?! W-why?!""I apologize, this was the only way I could get you to cooperate with us. I should also mention, we have prepared two more in case you decide to send the sword finds it's way to the other two. Now please, the sword." Once again, Ariella would reach out her hand, asking the boy to give her the sword.
Ariella stood there with a warm smile on her face as she waited to feel the old silver against the skin on the palm of her hand. The academy student was hesitant, he wasn't sure what to do. So instead, he held the sword tighter and held it close to his chest."If you chose to hand over the sword you will need to worry. The identities will remain hidden. I will not tell your instructor who you are or what you look like. A lady is only as good as he word."The young boy took a mini step forward, still hesitant. Probably because of the bomb placed on him. The closer the boy got the more robotic his steps looked, out of purse nervousness.
The silver sword was placed carefully into the hand Ariella was holding out."Thank you." Take ahold of the sword Ariella would give it a quick inspection to ensure there were no more seals placed on the sword. Everything looked good to go and Ariella looked back at the boy, who looked like he was shitting bricks. Bending over she would reach over and pinch the clay frog between her thumb and index finger keeping a secure hold on it before pulling it off. She had to admit, she was a bit disappointed she wouldn't be able to use her creation."Such a disappointment." She would mumble to herself. Doing a slight boy to the academy student, she would dismiss him and walk over to her partner."Could I see the other two frogs. Sadly, we will no longer be needing them" Her partner would hand over the frogs and she would cancel the technique. The frogs would start to revert back to their original clay form. Placing the clay back in her pouch Ariella would leave with her partner to finish the mission and return the sword back to it's origional owner.
The streets of the Gust District were as they always were during the evening. Akoto would stand on one of the rooftop platforms overlooking the people below, her pale eyes glancing at the children down below. The APD and the entire village was still in shock from the state left by it from the outside forces. The fake APD had caused a ruckus and left naught but a cataclysm of injustice in their wake. She knew that the people did need some kind of reassurance that the village would be whole again, before it came apart at the seams and turned into a mockery of what it used to be. Her feet lulled about on the rooftops, stepping over the railing as she crossed her legs and just simply watched the night away. It was one of her usual haunts, not really expressing any desire to really do much of anything since Yoshi had recovered from the hospital. Even when she visited, Akoto couldn't shake this sense of guilt washing over her. A feeling of disgust at herself for allowing something like this to happen. This is all my fault. If I wasn't such a weakling, I could have saved you, Yoshi. I shouldn't even be able to see right about now. She thought to herself. If only she could have saved him, but lacked the strength to overwhelm her captors at the time. And now, he was robbed of their clan's famed dojutsu but also his sight in general. Nerves torn and plucked so ruthlessly that operation only had a minor chance of him being able to see again. Even then, it would only be partial. Akoto didn't feel anything but the wind as a tear graced itself down her cheek. It continued along the smooth skin before falling on top of her hand. She looked down in confusion, spotting the water droplet there before gritting her teeth in a fury. N-No. Kagerou would be angry at me for crying. I'm not weak. I won't cry anymore. Despite these thoughts trying to reaffirm her inner strength, Akoto did find herself just lost in this sea of confusion the village was in. Lost in her thoughts, the Genin silently would enjoy her solitude.
After asking around the Academy for hours about anyone that might be willing to teach him the Gentle Fist Style, somebody mentioned a girl named Akoto. They mentioned she tended to turn up in the Gust Market area, so Sugichi had made his way there to see if he could spot her. He made his way up to one of the taller buildings in the area and approached the edge. From there he spent time scanning over the other buildings, moving on the next tallest building after, and the one after when that failed. There he rested for a while, sitting on the edge of the building for a moment. A few minutes later, he spotted a figure near the edge of a rooftop, on the opposite end of the district. Hoping it was the girl he was looking for, he waved for second, then stood up from the ledge just to hop down on to another building. Sugichi continued like this from roof to roof, approaching the person until he landed on an adjacent edge of the same rooftop. "Hi! I'm sorry to bother you, but would your name happen to be Akoto?"

It was as silent as ever, with Akoto just enjoying what little peace she could enjoyvfor herself at the moment. Her pale eyes shot to the sky for just a moment. Maybe it was fate, or something had caught her eye up there. But as the Genin looked up, she spotted the shape of a man looking down at her from above. Her tear filled eyes blinked at the sight before her. She rubbed her tears with the sleeve of her hand to remove any signs of her perceived weakness from other people, though she would dismiss it as her just making sure her eyes weren't seeing things. Akoto looked up again to see that the man was no longer above her. She turned her head around to look for whatever had caught her eyes before a voice from behind her would make itself known. Akoto spun around, the child's earrings hitting the side of her neck. What the man said was confusing to her. Somebody was looking for her specifically? That was quite the shock. She puffed her chest up a little, as if to mask her self-doubt. "It is." she said in a soft tone, looking up at the man. "What's the matter? Why are you looking for me?"

Sugichi was direct but polite, hoping not to have wasted his time, and at least wasting as little of hers as possible if that was the case.

Akoto said nothing as the man would speak. It was all mysterious like and she didn't move from her seat, just sitting on the railing. Her eyes would show some interest while he'd ask his question. It was the same as anybody else, wanting to learn something that only her clan could know. She said nothing, facing back out to the stars again, as the eve grew ever so closer. "Oh, I see..." she said nothing, the Genin slowly turning around to face the blonde haired boy in front of her. He'd be able to see her clan's eyes, gazing directly at him as his chakra circulation was visible to her. The veins by her eyes bulged in focus, Akoto setting both of her feet onto the ground behind the railing once more. "Like everyone else." she began, closing her eyes. "You're not the first person to come and ask. A lot of people come to find me, but I've never found a person worthy enough. Before we start, I have a simple question." Akoto looked back up at Sugichi, studying him for a moment or so. Her eyes glanced across his entire form, soon coming to rest back on his face before she speak again. "Why do you want to learn the Gentle Fist? Out of any style in the ninja world, why this one?"
Akoto hoped she looked pretty cool like this. It was kind of like out of the comics she always read after class.
The woman's sudden cryptic behavior and speech threw Sugichi completely off-guard, and he failed to hide it. "Oh, wow, uh... I was kind of just expecting a yes or now, not a... Huh." The blonde boy rubbed his neck hesitantly before deciding to just launch into his story. "Well, to keep it short, I was pretty much kidnapped my doctors, and they injected me with a bunch of stuff to fix some injuries I had, and when I finally got away, I could so this," The genin would close his eye tightly for a second before opening them to reveal his own Byakugan. "Which is weird because my family's boring, definitely not Hyuuga or Nara, which is a whole other thing. Anyway, I figure if I have it, I might as well learn to use it well. What better use than the fighting style it was meant for, right?" Sugichi stood quietly for a moment, letting Akoto process his info dump, before he shook his head and blinked a few times to disable his Byakugan again. Another second of silence paste before he spoke again. "Oh, you probably meant... Right. All of this is so I can try to help fix Arashi, starting with its people, and extending to protecting any Kage that truly serves their people. So hopefully Arashi never has to watch their leader die in a street riot again."
