A tiny little silver butterfly flit into a place where a naiad named Anginetti rest her head. The butterfly paused a moment, allowing the sparky silver trail to catch up. Gentle butterfly kisses sent Anginetti into the dream world.

--------------------

She is tired and stifles a yawn while loading her bags full of top-secret soft gel balls. She, as well as the rest of her squad, have no idea what they are for or what's in them, but they've been given explicit instructions to not break one open on fear of death.

"What ya s'pose is in theese?" words in a bizarre accent are coming from her mouth.

"Chemicals, I imagine. I overheard some talk the other day with the General and our Sargeant about not exposing the troops to them."

"Will we die?" Anginetti's anxiety grew. Are they purposely exposed to something toxic? A loud booming voice ordered all soldiers to the front line. The demon Anginetti scooped the rest of the balls into her bags and moved out.

Slowly moving forward, flapping her leathery demon wings, the soldier Anginetti leaves the boundaries of O'cuil, taking flight and carrying many bags filled with large soft gel balls. A glance to the right and she catches the eye of her angel friend in different formations in another squad. Determination for a successful mission motivating the hundreds of squadrons of angels and demons. The General gave the order and the squads flew out, row by row, over Tuatha'Ri Lake.

The lake is much bigger than Anginetti remembers it, but she also has a brief moment of lucidity where she wonders why she is a demon up in the air.

At the half-way mark over the lake, the command is given. The first line started to drop the balls as they fly forward. Anginetti pulled a large squishy gel ball, about the size of a softball out of the side bag. For a moment, the ball turned clear and she saw a woman, reaching out and gasping for air. Fear and panic hit her so hard, she squeezed the ball. It burst, a green, viscous fluid splattered her armor and face. It dripped from her hand into the bag with the other balls.

The orders were to drop them slowly as they flew straight and to continue dropping them even if they hit land on the other side. The goal was total saturation. That is why the entire army embarked on the most important mission in history.

The lake was peppered with the dissolving green gel balls. The fumes from the remnants of the gelatin ball twisted Anginetti's mind and she felt dizzy. She fell from the sky along with the rest of the ammunition.

Just as her back hit the water, she heard the call. "Mission success!" General Strafe halted the soldiers. "Time for the real war!"

-----------------------------

Anginetti saw a young naiad floating in the doorway. She was holding a tray of gourmet delicacies. Another naiad slides up beside the girl and nuzzled her briefly. "Today's the day!" He announced. The girl giggled and hushed the boy.

"We must wait until after the queen's announcement." The girl cupped the boy's face and smiled. The love the pair shared radiated. As an outsider looking in, Anginetti could even feel the love.

The girl moved forward, but stopped abruptly, letting go of the platter. The food floated everywhere. Shock. Fear. Panic. Confusion. It all washed over the both of them. Anginetti swam to the girl, wanting to help but noticed something else wasn't right. The girl didn't respond to anything Aginetti did or said. But when eye contact was made, the pair burst apart.

"That's me!? That's me!

"But how?" But how?

In the Throne Room, the scared girl witnessed the Oracle spear Queen Alu.

Anginetti gasp and started choking. The last thing she saw before blacking out was the spearhead sticking out from the queen. The whole Queendom went green.

That spearhead though .... was familiar somehow, even in her dream.

---------------------

Love. Unconditional and everlasting. Joy. Extreme and all-encompassing.

Anginetti felt warm. So happy and cozy. No one has ever felt this level of love and joy before.

Resting in the arms of her beloved, Anginetti opened her eyes and smiled. A perfect face and smile greeted her as she awoke. "Today is the day, sweetheart." He says to her.

“Yes it is~” She chirped excitedly “And there is much to be done!” She bopped his nose before stretching and getting out of bed. She wished she could stay curled up with him forever but she needed to get ready! Quickly at that time waits for no naiad and they have to make sure everything is perfect for today!

Once she was ready she swam over to him and gave him a quick kiss. “Gotta go! See you later my love~” Ahhh he was giving her that perfect smile again. That stupidly perfect smile that made Anginetti so giddy and caused her heart to race!

“Have a good day darling, I’ll see you later.”
He responded waving as she left.

Ahh hopefully they could steal a few moments together in-between working. Today was a big event after all and their jobs meant it would be rather hectic for them. Still they had a day off coming up in a few days so they’d be able to have a lot of fun! The naiad hummed happily to herself as she swam to the kitchens, her hair was up as usually to keep it out of the food.

She waved to her boss as she entered before quickly starting the regular work day. The had to make breakfast before they could start on any of the food for the event.

A few hours later, breakfast had been served and cleaned up and the preparations for the Thing where well underway. She hummed as she worked on decorating the Crab Cakes. She was carefully covering them in intricate designs with grub pudding. Once she was finished she floated over to her boss to ask what to do next.

“Everything is looking good. Here take this tray to Queen Alu. We need to know if she’d like any last minute changes to the menu.” Her boss quickly handed a large serving tray loaded with all the different foods they had been working on.

“Got it!” Carefully taking the tray in both hands she swam off heading to the throne room. Queen Alu should be there preparing, If not Angi would simply head to the queens room.

Just as she entered the main hall leading to the throne room, another naiad came up and swam beside her. She flushed as her love nuzzled her before announcing once again today was THE day. “Shuuush we must wait for the queen’s announcement” She said as she cupped his face, being careful to hold the tray steady with her other hand. Her eyes shined with an obvious adoration as she looked at her love. “It wouldn’t be good if we ruined it!”

She gave him a quick kiss before heading through the doorway to the throne room. As soon as she got to the doorway she stopped abruptly , The queen was there but so was the oracle, not too surprising that a member of the court would be there. No what caused her to stop was the Oracle attacking Queen Alu. She dropped the try, tears bubbling out of her eyes as she watched in horror. QUEEN ALU! Her mind screamed, she needed to help her! But she couldn’t move. She was gripped with terror. Why why would the Oracle kill their Queen? What would they do without her?

Dimly she became aware of a hand on her and a voice behind her. The hand tugged on her wrist and the voice said something she couldn’t understand.

“Angi angi, we have to go!” slowly her mind began to process the frantic whispers of her lover. “I I cant leave the Queen like this.” Her heart screamed that the queen needed help but her brain new their beloved Queen was already dead.

Before she could try to snap out of her terror enough to try and head to the Queen’s side she was scooped up by her lover who quickly dashed away. “We have to tell the guards!”

Slowly the shock was fading. Yes the had to warn the guards her love was right. She was lucky he was nearby since he was able to keep his head straight and figure out what to do instead of freezing up.

She rested her head on his shoulder trying to calm her jumbled mind. Suddenly she was gripped with fear. Her whole body tensted up as she looked behind her love.

The Oracle. It was clear from the Oracle’s expression she didn’t instead to leave any witnesses.

Stupid stupid stupid! She had wasted too much time just staring. She should have left before the oracle noticed them. Said Oracle was currently gaining on them. There was no way they’d get to the guards at this rate. Speaking of WHERE THE HELL WHERE THE GUARDS. She suddenly realized the guards should have been in the throne room, but there was no one, no one at the entrance. Where, where they working with the oracle? …No they wouldn’t would they?

She wiggled out of her loves arms. “Go, go get the guards.” She said, making it clear in her tone there would be no argument. If the oracle caught them they would both die. But maybe, if she could slow the oracle enough he’d be able to find someone, anyone at this point. He’d be able to move a lot faster too since he was no longer carrying her weight with him.

She felt him hesitate, it was clear he didn’t want to leave her, but this wasn’t about them, it was about the kingdom.

“I love you Angi.” He choked out before dashing off.

"I love you too.” She didn’t know if he had heard it or not but there wasn’t any time to find out.

By the waters she was terrified. She needed to keep moving, it wouldn’t do anyone any good if she froze up again. If she could by enough time… if he survived then this gamble would be worth it.
“HOW DARE YOU KILL OUR QUEEN” She screamed at the Oracle throwing the nearest objected at her enemy. She had no weapons, no training in combat. Still she had to try.

Spotting a replica spear on the wall she rushed over and grabbed it. The tip was fake since it was a replica and wouldn’t hold up in a fight. But the shaft was made of real wood.

Holding the spear like a baseball bat, she swung the wooden weapon at the oracle. The oracle smirked, cleanly ducking under the weapon and surging up in front of Angi before the young naiad could react.

“Fool” The oracle hissed as she plunged the dagger into Anginetti.

The spear fell from her hand as pain exploded in her chest.

Oh my love, please be safe. She prayed he would be okay as the world when black.
