JAXA launches rocket "Epsilon-3"

At 6:06:11 a.m. (Japanese Standard Time), JAXA – the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency – launched their third Epsilon launch vehicle from the Uchinoura Space Center in the southern prefecture of Kagoshima.

Epsilon-3, as the vehicle was named, took aboard with it the radar satellite ASNARO-2. It is the first Epsilon rocket to carry a satellite that was developed by a private company.

Originally, the launch was scheduled for Wednesday, but due to bad weather it was rescheduled on Thursday. The Thursday launch and flight of the Epsilon-3 as well as the separation of ASNARO-2 were completed successfully.
