_______________________________

What is their name?
Rune Arkwright

Do they have any nicknames/aliases?
Haima

How old are they?
31

What is their gender?
Female

What is their sexual orientation?
Straight

Are they human or deviant?
Deviant

What are their powers/abilities?
Haemokinesis

The power to manipulate blood, whether it's from oneself, others or free-flowing. User can create, control and otherwise manipulate blood of oneself, others or from their surroundings, whether it be from blood-banks, hospitals, or battlefields.

Rune can do quite a lot with blood, provided there is a source nearby. Said source needs to be bleeding, this includes herself, as she can't control blood that is not flowing from a wound or otherwise outside a body unless it's her own. The best effect is obtained when she uses her own blood, but there are obvious risks with that, such as using too much and going unconscious as a result or, worst case scenario, death by blood-loss. She can use animal blood as well, but the results are much weaker than when she uses human blood and she hates the idea of harming innocent animals for the sake of her powers.

As for what she can do more specifically aside from general control of the matter:
- Haemokinetic constructs (mainly blade weapons or small golem-like creatures)
- Haemokinetic Shield Construction (creates a protective barrier made of blood)
- Blood Marionette (only capable of using this on herself, allows her to move while paralysed or otherwise prevented from moving by manipulating her body)

Consumption Healing

"User can regenerate wounds by eating anything, either to empower their regeneration process or directly transforming the material into their own mass." Suffering such frequent blood-loss has caused Rune to acquire the uncanny ability to recover at an increased speed by eating. Food in general works fine, but food items rich in iron seem to have the overall best effect. This means she constantly carries edibles around with her and can usually be seen snacking on something like dark chocolate or dried apricots. The effects are not instant, however. Depending on the severity, type and size of the wound it can take anything from minutes to weeks to heal.

Do they have any notable weaknesses?
Aside from overusing her power and bleeding to death she's pretty much vulnerable to anything a normal human is.

What is their personality like?
Rune is a mixed bag personality-wise. While she's friendly enough on the surface, she tends to keep people at arms length, avoiding to get too personal. She's an incorrigible workaholic and is extremely meticulous in everything she does. At times she can be thoughtless when it comes to other people's feelings doing things that might be considered rude or inappropriate, those who know her well enough have learned to disregard it.

What is their backstory?
Rune was born and raised in New York and has spent her entire life there thus far. She had a very mundane childhood, growing up in a small family of five in the suburbs with an older sister and a younger brother being raised alongside her. Well, normal doesn't account for her haemocrhromatosis, of course. The girl was diagnosed with the condition at the age of five and had to undergo weekly blood-lettings ever since, all to avoid iron deposits building up in her vital organs. To Rune it became part of her life just like going to the bathroom or brushing her teeth. It was trivial and something she had to do.

It was after one of her weekly visits about eight years later that her powers first manifested. On her way back from the clinic where she went to have her blood drawn, she got a pretty violent nosebleed out of nowhere. Surprised and frightened she tried her best to stop it, as she had already lost quite a bit as it was and feared she might pass out if she lost much more. Nothing she did seemed to want to stop the sudden flow, however, and the girl was starting to panic. In this panic it was as though something inside her stirred and the blood which had previously been drizzling out of her nose was suddenly suspended in the air like a thin ribbon. Baffled and creeped out, the girl ran straight home and hid in her room, afraid that she had developed another disorder of some sort.

However, as her fear receded, and curiosity set in, Rune began to experiment with her vital fluids. Always in secret, and always making sure to be careful not to draw too much. She was acutely aware of the danger of blood-loss and thus kept herself to small cuts and scratches in the beginning. As her confidence grew, so did the quantities of blood she used. She was also deathly afraid of being discovered and sent away for being strange or different and thus never revealed her powers to anyone, not even her own family. Better safe than sorry.

Remembering how they always gave her something to snack on after her visits at the clinic, Rune was always careful to replenish her blood-sugar levels after each training session. With the recurring blood-loss and her constant eating she developed consumption healing somewhere along the way, and through some experimenting she soon found that foods rich in iron greatly boosted her regeneration rate, leading to her always carrying something to eat with her.

While her haemochromatosis had initially been what roused her interest in the study of blood, her powers had only served to strengthen it, and so she went through school with a clear goal set out for her. Upon graduating she was accepted into medical school on a scholarship, completing her four-year program followed by three years of internship at different hospitals, and then finally two more years in a lab before emerging on the other side as a full-fledged Hematopathologist.

Today she runs a small, underground clinic in East New York with a couple of nurses and a GP, patients paying what they can. It's neutral ground and anyone thinking of starting trouble in Rune's territory will pay dearly for it, be they Dominion, Providence or anything in-between.

Is there anything else we need to know?

- She's earned herself the title of "Mom" from the locals for her constant nagging and lectures.

- Rune really likes parcour, and unless necessary is more likely to make a speedy get-away than reveal her powers.

- Prone to "hanger" when snacks/food is not available.
