It was time to break out the papers and rock the house shrine!
...but it seemed the Fortunes were against this place, or at least against the monks receiving any worthwhile help, or perhaps wished to demonstrate the benefits of emphases. Whatever the case, Ayame found herself quickly stumped in both design and execution.

@ Ayame:
Well.
So the fine specifics of architecture is a bit different than designing a sprawling map. Very accurate measurements, restrictive dimensions, lack of artistic flourish... the stringent requirements seem alien to the gentle caress of your inkbrush upon parchment that you've developed your hands' muscle memory to master.
The monk is incredibly patient with you throughout your attempts to design what he described. A few demonstrations, some advice... none of it seemed to help.
An hour would go by, and you didn't seem to have a good grasp of the temple's endgame design when it was over. You'll be able to put something... generic... when the time comes, but deep down, you'll know it will not be a truthful depiction of what is being constructed: A shrine to Ebisu.
Quote: 0/2 successes: This area will count as 2 for the final average
@ Gahl:
An hour passes, and your eyes open. You don't feel at all spiritually refreshed, though you are just as rested as you were at the start. You see the Miya at a literal drawing board with one of the monks, surrounded by a small cluster of crumpled paper balls. She didn't look too happy.
Quote: Failed to hit TN 20 to regain a void point.
@ Tsuyoshi:
You, on the other hand, are a little bit worn out from the manual labor, a bit harder work than you are used to. You've made a suitable replacement for another set of hands, and the monks who kept working seem to be grateful for you helping them keep their schedule.
It seems Miya Ayame has finished her attempts at being an engineer, and it looks like the Hida is rousing from his reflective meditation.
Assuming that you will be moving on with everyone else, you will get the following benefit:
Quote: 1/3 successes: You gain a +1k1 to your next Social Skill Roll made with citizens of Rokugan who are not members of the samurai caste.
