His name is James, and he has sickle cell anemia. As of this morning he's been in the hospital for five consecutive days. Because of the illness he's spent a LOT of time in the hospital but it's considered life threatening every time. My sister shared with me recently that she was sometimes able to help him stay calm in situations where he might've had attacks that could hospitalize him, but she has come back home after ten years to visit family before moving to Spain, and I know how her heart must be hurting that she can't be by his side right now.

Please pray for James!

How well do you know him? I am asking because I wondered if you knew
what thoughts he has about the afterlife.

what thoughts he has about the afterlife.

I've spoken with him a few times, I know what my sister has told me and how close they are. Basically they always comforted each other, she was lonely missing home and he was dealing with hospitals etc so often. His experiences made him kind and good-humored (he says that he learned how to always be nice otherwise in a hospital it can affect your health if people don't really want to help you).

I think he's a Christian but I'm not sure exactly.

I think whether he has found peace with God or not is very important. What is your sisters stance? I think it is a talk someone close to him should have with him despite how uncomfortable it is. Does she ever say what they talk about concerning death? From having close family members being sick with I know that this is things that go through their minds when they are sick.
