So, you wanna be an Entrepeneur? Well, here are a few things to know about being a business owner in the Wizarding World & Muggle UK.
Current Entrepreneur Manager: Essy ze Ninja
1) Read the Guild Rules. You need to do so before you can make a character in the guild.
2) Make your character.
+ They should have their own Family Thread
+ It should say that they're trying (*pending*) to be an entrepreneur in the spot in their profile for occupation.
3) Apply for a business by posting in this thread.
+ Form to fill out
+ Remember to keep these guidelines in mind while creating your business:
- All applications must be fully filled out
- Characters must be pended before they can be approved to own a business
- For original businesses, the business must not be a type already available in the city they will be located in (ie. a second broom-maker factory) unless the business is unavailable
- All shops must be approved by an Entrepreneur Business checker before they are allowed to be built
- All business assistants must apply in the One-Stop thread for Entrepreneur Businesses, and also must be fully filled out and pended to be accepted or denied at the request of the owner of the business.
- A business assistant can be hired for a business that is currently NPC Owned and should follow the steps outline above.
- To fire a person from a business, quote the application and state they are fired in the post.
- A person may quit their occupation in the business they work at by quoting their own application and stating they quit, also by quoting the owner of the thread and PMing them to let them know about the change of employment.
- If you want to open a shop somewhere in the guild you do not need to apply here as well. Your character will automatically assumed to be qualified in their profession. For example, if you want to open a Wandmaker Shop in the guild, you do not also have to apply to be an entrepreneur.
- All performers (actors, comedians, composers, dancers musicians, etc) are now found at the Wizarding Wireless Network subforum; applications and offices can now be found there. [Edited Added: 2/21/19]
4) Wait for a crew member to approve your request.
+ A crew member will come by and approve/deny/ask for edits on your request.
+ If you wait three days and it has yet to be approved, please contact the Entrepreneur Business Profiles Manager.
+ Be sure to contact the Entrepreneur Business Profile Checkers with any questions you might have
5) Entrepreneur Business Help
6) After being "Accepted" by a crew member, post your business.
+ When you have done everything listed above, feel free to post your shop.
+ To do so, start a normal topic here.
+ Title the thread as "Business Name ~ Profession ~ Location".
+ The first post should be about your business, where you are located, what service or product you are selling, who works there, if you are magical and/or muggle, etc. (Not all entrepreneurs have to run their own shop. Instead you can own a workshop and supply goods to another business or store. Such as wand-makers/broom-makers would offer to Diagon Alley shops, etc.)
+ This is important! At the bottom of the first post, there should be a short note detailing the magical/muggle/both status of a business. it should read similar to "The Theatre is Muggle Only." Or "The First Floor is Muggle Only. The Second Floor is Magical Only." Or "This Club is Magical Only." Etc.
+ The second post should be more in depth about the products you are selling, how much they cost, how many are in stock, a list of clientele, open or booked appointments, etc.
+ The third post should be reserved; in this post you can look for assistants if you'd like, or place announcements there for customers to see.
7) Update your character's profile.
+ Their profile should say that they work at your business now.
8 ) Get business assistants.
+ Business assistants can apply using this form.
+ Business owners must be the ones who quote these requests with either a "You're hired!" or "No way!"
+ You may only hire people who are applying to work at your business.
+ You may also fire someone by quoting your original "You're hired!" post and posting a new post that says, "You're fired!" The crew will update the list accordingly.
9) Firing employees and quitting the job.
+ Business owners reserve the right to fire employees.
+ If you wish to fire an employee, quote their accepted application and in red font, state "You're Fired".
+ Any and all reasons for termination should be established in roleplay, or discussed out of character between owner and employee.
+ If the reason for firing an employee is personal between you and the other roleplayer, contact a crew member about the issue. The process of firing them from your shop will be handled by the Entrepreneur Manager. Do not bring it up in the forums.
+ If you wish to quit from your job, be sure to notify your employer (if you have one.) Otherwise, simply quote your accepted application and state in red font "I quit."
So there you go! That's the basic info you need to know on being an Entrepreneur in the Wizarding World & Muggle UK!

Openings for Entrepreneur Businesses
There are a bunch of businesses in the Wizarding World and Muggle UK for characters to wander through and enjoy. However, for customers to actually buy and enjoy anything, we need some people to run the stores. Here is a list of available businesses to take care of along with their description. As new applications are posted, more businesses will be added.
Taken businesses will be crossed out and the owner will have their profile linked in the thread.
For the businesses with no specific title (e.g. Daycare Center), the owner may name it whatever they'd like and the new name will be placed in parenthesis by the entry here (ex: Daycare Center: (Wizarding Tots) Offers year-round childcare and early childhood education for wizarding children ages 0-10.). Should the owner of the Daycare Center go inactive and the business is open for someone else to own, the new owner may rename it and so on.
If your business is unique and is not listed in the Entrepreneur Registry, you must run the idea by the Entrepreneur Manager before opening the business. It should be noted that, unlike Diagon and Knockturn Alley, there are not many shops or businesses mentioned in canon. Most businesses in this subforum will be original businesses, or will have previously been NPC businesses that were requested by a user. Any and all NPC businesses requested will be added to the list below and are available to be owned. Also, you do not have to be a Muggle to own a Muggle business! Witches and Wizards are more than welcome to apply to own one of these businesses. Just know that you may have muggles apply to work there, and you must keep the Statue of Secrecy in mind when dealing with customers. Be sure to price your goods in the correct currency, (i.e. pounds, euros, or galleons.)

Follow all the instructions in the parenthesis while you're putting your skeleton together and include all the information we ask for (if you want to spruce it up, feel free). Remove the parenthesis and everything in between them when you're done, please.
The Crew reserves the right to deny or accept anybody. Please make sure you follow the rules when applying.

Keep in mind that while you have creative freedom to ghost the owners of the business, you must exercise caution while doing so. Do not control the npc owners to kick out a roleplayer's character without an express in-character reason to do so. Do not harass or otherwise bully the npc owner simply because you can, otherwise, your character will be terminated from it's occupation.
An Entrepreneur Business Profile Checker or Job Checker must quote your post and approve that you have been "hired". If you decide to quit your job, you are in charge of quoting your own application to state "I quit," to allow an Entrepreneur Business Profile Checker to update the Openings for Entrepreneur Businesses' thread.

Hello, my name is Kenji Apostol
I am a Musician.
My business is called Kenji Apostol's Recording Studio
It provides compositions, lyric writing, performing live gigs, collaboration, and touring member services as a guitarist
It is a magical business.
It is located in Godric's Hollow, England
How did I come to get this business? Well... I always wanted to be a rock musician ever since I was a kid. I mean, to no one's surprise, my dad was once a famous singer so he's obviously my inspiration. Anyway, my dad, since he was retired and living peacefully, used to have this good ol' music studio in Godric's and so he decided to pass it down to me so voila.
The things I love about this business are working with other musicians, the fact that I do what I love, collaborating, traveling on places to share music, and being creative!
The things I despise about this business are Art Block (Yes. Music is art), picky and uncooperative collaborating artists, pesky managers, those snooty "music loves" (You know what I mean), and some accidental inconveniences (Broken magical amplifiers etc etc)
Oh yes, there's something else I need to tell you! The building is located in the magical side of Godric's Hollow. So yes, it's really for magical people only.

How did I come to get this business? Well... I decided to be a solicitor around my fifth year of school and once I graduated with my NEWT's built up my business basically from scratch from my home office. I got my first big case defending murder charges for my best friend and when we won I started getting better business and opened up my own little office square about a block or so away from the Ministry.
The things I love about this business are I can pick and choose my clients, I can help innocent people prove their innocence, I get to be kind of a d**k in court, finding loopholes that make the prosecution look like idiots, and as childish as it seems arguing with people can be sort of fun and therapeutic.
The things I despise about this business are Idiot clients, idiot prosecution, paperwork, when I lose a case due to a ridiculous law or loophole, and the late hours.
