The South Gate Park is really nothing more than an open area considered to be a park by everyone. It's built in a kind of crater/bowl like area, with stairs leading down into it. In the middle of it is a giant tree, which is used for the Blossom-Viewing Festival. It's also the hot spot for fights between different Wizards. Although it can't be so destructive that it destroys the tree.

Blossom-Viewing Festival
Held during the Sakura season, the Blossom-Viewing Festival is one of the most anticipated festivals of the town due to the beauty of the Rainbow Sakuras which glow with rainbow colors during the evening. The citizens of Magnolia, as well as the members of Fairy Tail, come together around the Rainbow Sakuras and party while waiting for the trees to glow.
Bingo Tournament
Fairy Tail's Bingo Tournament is a yearly event held during the Blossom-Viewing Festival with a card given to each guild member who play in order to claim prizes.
