[ Premise/Foreword ]

So I first must ask any older members reading this for one last benefit of the doubt.
I'm terrible at running Shadowrun 4th Edition (Anniversary Edition) and would like to get better so I want to run it here. I would also to minimise the brain drain and motivation drain by running pre-mades. I'm here to learn how to run Shadowrun and would like to drag some people along for the ride.

[ Setting Information/Background ]
Probably the bog standard Seattle setting.

[ Game Introduction/Plot ]
Standard runs chummer.

[ Character Creation ]
Either pick one of the premades or use the standard point buy.

Required: Decker/Technomancer and a mage.

Available Sources: Any that I can get a copy of but for the sake of my sanity try to keep it to the core book.
Banned Resources:

Races: All core, any outside? As per available sources
Backgrounds: If you want one go ahead.

[ House/Optional Rules ]

I might opt for a rule to do with items that give you extra turns since that is such a powerful mechanic.

For greater edification, my character will mechanically be something of a control/charm mage. Do a little buffing and healing and other things to slow and trip people over.

Mongooseh, if you can do it, it's normally best to stick to one or two 'realms' instead of going all three. By Realms, I mean 'Meatspace (real world)' 'Matrix (Cyberspace)' and 'Astral Plane (Magic Spirit stuff)'. Especially if you got people trying to do stuff in each at the same time, cause they all have different initiatives that run on different timescales.

As for Decking... don't look at me, my last 'Decker' was an AI and me and the GM played fast and loose with doing stuff in cyberspace.

I will, however, make a big troll tank if they want it.

Oh yes, look for Chummergen. Makes character creation easier. And keeping track of your character after it's made too.

The only sources I'd look at aside from Core would be Arsenal and Runner's Companion. They're to Shadowrun 4e as Into the Storm and Battlefleet Koronus is to Rogue Trader. Basically, full of additional guns, mods, vehicles and all.

If you can get em that is.

Yup, 400 BP. Just an aside for everyone when I mention it in the homerules. Speed breaks the game and it's easy to get to a point in character creation where from the get go you can take 3 turns in combat I would please ask players to avoid this. Funnily enough when the enemy only gets one turn and you get three. Three full auto bursts VS One you can see why they would probably never win.

I mention this as to pre empt that I might just bring the hammer down on players abusing this.

There's various ways to get more initiative passes. Most only give you another one, though. Wired Reflexes, for example, is a very standard one to get another while increasing your Reflex attribute.

EDIT: Big question for everyone... are we going more Black Tie or Pink Mohawk with this?

Also, Mongooseh, you take .chum files?

Here's my mage. As far as Black Tie and Pink mohawk go....can't we go Pink Tie and black mohawk? Stop aping those corporate chummers who buy into the Catalyst Game Labs line? I kid. Either works for me.
