✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦ ❝Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.❞ - The Wolf Man (1941) ✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦ 7:22 pm, July 1st It was the 46th full moon since Minty had met Monster. Sure, she knew other werecreatures on Gaia now, but he had been the first, and also the were she was closest to. 46 nights of being stalked by a werehog and a lady starts to take precautions. Minty had put together a small full-moon kit she could slip into her purse around full moons. It included plenty of band-aids and alcohol wipes as well as a squeaky toy or two, and buried at the very bottom because she hoped she never had to use it, colloidal silver infused with wolfbane in a spray bottle. She always did her best not to look for trouble during a full moon, but there was a measure of comfort in knowing that if Minty did somehow find it...she was prepared.
On this night, however, trouble found her.
Cutting through the woods, Minty heard singing. She sighed, trudging towards it. Most likely it was someone who meant to be in the middle of woods during a full moon (this was Gaia after all), but there was always a slim chance it was someone wearing eau de porkchop and a sign that said "Bite me, I'm stupid." (this was Gaia after all).
As it turned out, the singer fell into the first catagory. And as it also turned out, she hadn't been alone. Two weres had been with her and had gone on the attack as soon as Minty had entered the clearing. The struggle was brief, and Minty had managed to escape thanks to her full-moon kit and a little help from the singer.☽ ◯ ☾ 7:30 am, July 2nd ...Or had she? Certainly Minty hadn't been cognizant of any injuries after the attack in the woods, but shortly after she had awoken to ears rather higher on her head than they should, a tail and a strong compulsion to chase balls. The worst part was that her hair had turned what she found to be a particularly garish shade of purple. Was it related to the moon or was something else going on?
Minty employed her favorite method of problems solving: ignoring it. Throwing on her most colorful clothing, she hoped she could pass it off as a fashion phase she was going through to her friends and associates here on Gaia. And miraculously, it seemed to work. Of course there were stranger characters than purple-haired dog-women all over the place. It was like hiding a needle in a pile of needles.
Monster was the only one who seemed to even notice there was something different.☽ ◯ ☾ 7:43 pm, July 30th Crap. Oh crap. Crap crap crappity crapping crap.
The pain had started at the base of her spine. Minty originally thought it was from sitting at a computer all day and had gotten up to stretch. Groans of enjoying a good stretch turned into grunts of torture. She doubled over on the floor as white hot blinding pain seared her vision.
She tried to get out of her office, out of the guild hall. Most of her brain was occupied with exactly how much a bipedal skeleton re-arranging itself into a quadruped hurt, but a small niggling part in the back of her mind knew what was going on. Minty had to get out of the building and away from people. Trying to power through it, Minty made for her door, but was cut down by another roll of pain. Gritting her teeth, she tried again only to fall for the last time, the pain finally pushing her to cry out. Cries that turned to howls...a new wolf was loose in the building and she was hungry.☽ ◯ ☾ When last we left our intrepid heroes, Minty had spent her first evening taken over by the beast. Luckily, chili-dog connoisseur and were-expert Mister Monster Guy was on hand to wrangle the new wolf into his bedroom for the night.
Minty's transformation was relatively uneventful. At least until she woke up in Monster's room wearing only shoes. That was confusing.
But the time for explanations, and confusion caused by explanations, was short. As Minty, Monster and Gwen each fell to their curses. Brave Monster managed to retain a few of his wits (not many though) and shoved Gwen in a room to transform away from everybody.
Unfortunately, that left Minty unguarded and she escaped from Monster's room (Note to self: I owe Monster a new door). The temptation of another were to play with was too much for Monster and now he and Minty are romping around the guild halls. The other anons and fans might survive tonight, but the furniture sure won't...

Monster was content in his room playing his squid game. Or was it a kid game? Well it didn't really matter cause all of that came to a halt when he heard... a howl? Impossible. Was Gwen playing a practical joke? Monster mumbled to himself about making some bacon and eating it in front of her face if it was the teenage werewolf before leaving his room and heading downstairs to where he heard the-
...That's not Gwen.

Nails scrabbled down the hall as canine feet tried to find purchase on wooden floors. The most rainbowy of wolves came barreling down the hallway towards monster.

Minty Andee Nails scrabbled down the hall as canine feet tried to find purchase on wooden floors. The most rainbowy of wolves came barreling down the hallway towards monster. "oooooOOOOOOHHHHHH THAT'S NO GOOD!" The opposite direction of this strange new werewolf sounded very nice right now so Monster ran off that way, trying to figure out what's happening here. "I'm all fur and spikes I won't taste good!" Monster tried not to think about the irony of him being the one chased on a full moon for once.

The wolf was scared, confused, and had a lingering idea that it needed to get out, but now something was running in front of it. Oh yes. This was much more simple. Things ran and it chased. It was a truth laid out by nature, a drive that every predator follows. And so, despite the strange blue color and tricky looking spikes, the wolf chased.

Well I think it's safe to say Monster is having a bad night, running away from this crazy wolf, but at least he's fast. ...But when you hit the end of a hallway that doesn't really matter, now does it? Monster looks back at the werewolf, maybe he can intimidate them into leaving him alone? He growls and shows his fangs, back off I'm totally tough!

The prey was cornered, the wolf slowed down, head lowered, growling. The blue thing growled back. The wolf made a short lunge towards it, barking. Ears back, tail lowered, hackles raised, the wolf plotted a jump. Hind muscles bunched before extending, launching the multi-colored canine into a throat-ripping leap.

Yep, he's had better nights, and being a hedgehog he did the first thing any self-respecting hedgehog would do in this situation- curl up and be the absolute spikiest.

The wolf's jaws snapped shut around the blue ball of needles and immediately snapped open again. The canine yelped and began whining, tentatively sniffing the blue ball and jerking it's head back whenever it's nose came close to touching it again. The wolf jumped up and down on it's front legs, barking angrily at the ball.

Well he's glad he's already cursed, cause a bite like that would have been bad news otherwise. ...Can you get double cursed? Man he hopes not- "Don't bark at me!" Monster rolls closer while still in a ball, you want to try that again, punk?

The wolf backed up as the ball approached, not interested in getting another mouthful of pain. It whined a little while walking away and then coming back. Unsure about what to do next.

An idea began to form in Monster's curled up head, and he rolled towards the wolf once again, if he can chorale the werewolf into his room, they can be locked there for the night and not cause anymore mayhem. ...Plus the mini-fridge will keep any self-respecting lycan busy.

The wolf pranced backwards as the ball rolled towards it. It was not a fan of the current state of events, growling and snapping to show it's displeasure. But Monster's plan worked, the wolf backed into his room, whining when the door was shut.
The distress was momentary when the wolf caught the scent of chili dogs in the mini-fridge. By adding a few claw scratches and some chew marks to the fridge, the wolf was able to get to the deliciousness inside.
(I pike Sparkles McGee to represent wolf-from. Self-respecting lycan went out the window forever ago)

Wow, the plan worked! Monster leaned on the door before sliding down and sitting in front of it, sighing in relief. He looked over the bite mark momentarily before reassuring himself that you can't be a double-werewolf. Hopefully. In any case, he'd stand guard over the door all night... or sit guard and eventually fall asleep. Such a good guard-hog.
