Afterlight

Recently, the video game market has been booming. Ever since the first Acti-wear; a mask that let you see from your characters view, but still required controllers; had been created, companies were on a constant rampage to build a bigger, better version. Almost 30 years later, the company Play produced their own version, which fully immersed you into games, with slight differences. Many other companies followed suit, but failed to match the quality. Then came Live, a company that was new, but wildly popular with other games. They had never attempted to top Play, until now.

Plot

Tomorrow is officially the day. The day Live was releasing Reality, their own fully immersing software, which if bought on release game came with the Reality version for their newest game, Afterlight. Afterlight had been released just last week and had been built for the gear, Dream. Though the games were different platforms, they would all be able to connect, allowing for a massive amount of players. Many people were excited for the release of the new version of gear, even though there was only one game released. In this RP, you can play the role of family, an original, or a living.

How to escape:
In Afterlife, the only way to win is to obtain the rare crystal, Zinrihydrite, which is located on the highest level of the game in the castle. Each level has a boss hidden that must be defeated in order to move past. Each boss is different, but is not necessarily stronger than the last, as they range in abilities. On top of this, there are keys that you must find each level to unlock the bosses door. There is only one per level.


Roles explained:
Family:
This one is pretty self- explanatory. You are one of many who lost one of their family in the game and are trying to save them.

Original:
Originals are players who owned the game with Dream, a previous soft-wear. Since the only people who are trapped are using Reality, originals are able to log in and out of the game safely, making it possible to connect the two worlds. Unfortunately, family members are unable to buy dream, because it was discontinued the day of Reality's release. Many Originals scam Living by offering services to contact loved ones, but do not fulfill the task.

Living:
A living is one of the many individuals who are trapped in Afterlite. Living have almost no contact with the outside world, unless they are fortunate enough to meet a Original who will be willing to contact family for free. Although it is a game, they are required to eat, sleep, and do other normal body requirements. You can die in this game, but it will cost you dearly. Dying in this game with Reality will kill you in real life.
