Alright, so... he had a plan, then. He was going to go take a nap, then come back, pick up his pokemon, and head to Hoenn. He was pretty sure there had to be some train station there, and he could check the maps he had to figure out the best route to where there were Numel. Surely some of the locals would help him, too. Sighing, he stood up, putting his things away and striding for the upstairs, feeling along blindly for the stair case, and starting up them, focusing closely on the reverberations caused by each step, the faint echoes he could get, the impressions he had, trying not to stumble, but refusing to snap and create a sound to go off of. He really didn't feel like drawing attention to him, just then....
He made it up and settled into bed, tired, and more ready for sleep than he probably should have been. It felt a little odd, having the room generally to himself, devoid of his pokemon... but he only managed to miss them for a moment, before he drifted heavily off to sleep.

Sleeping longer than he meant, Jay didn't wake up until that evening. Of course, the time made no real difference to him. It was quieter, and he could start hearing some of the sounds of night trickling along outside, but he didn't mind the slightly lower temperatures, and if anything, he preferred it. Generally quieter, and if he was lucky, less crowded, on the trains anyway. He gathered up his pokemon, releasing Zoey to her usual perch on her shoulder, and allowing Tod to join him by his side. He was... admittedly still pretty sore over Scy's behavior. He knew he was starting to be a bit bitter over it, and holding a grudge never did anyone any good, but... dammit, he was still ticked off at him. He needed some time to clear his head of it all. And besides, wasn't he supposed to be getting 'less dependent' on him, or whatever?
Zoey, refreshed and relaxed, used her super sonic to help Jacque make his way to the train station, and after buying himself a ticket, he and Tod climbed aboard, finding themselves and empty seat, and settling down. "Maght as well relax fer now, but y'mind helpin' me when we get ta Hoenn, Tod? Ah ain't thuh best with crowds'n all, 'n ah don' think Scy's thuh best fer it righ' now... Ah shouldn' need much but ta letcha lead thuh way," he explained, shifting to lean into the corner of the bench, his eyes closed. He pulled the hat from his head, resting it over his chest as he settled in a bit. Tod looked at him, then nodded. "De.... wott..." he agreed. Jay nodded appreciatively, then settled on in, ready to sleep his way through the rest of the train ride.

Stifling a bit of a yawn, Jay stepped down from the train, Tod by his side and Zoey on his shoulder. He'd let the Dewott out once it was clear there was enough room on the train. It was apparently pretty late when they arrived, though, and June was just barely awake as she followed after him. "You still plannin to head--" she stopped, stifling another drowsy yawn, "T'the forest, Jay....?" she asked. He gave a nod, trying not to yawn again. Just listening to her was making him a bit drowsy. "Yeah, think ah'll camp out t'night," he decided, stretching an arm over his head, eyes closed as he continued walking, Zoey squeaking out supersonic reverberations to help him avoid tripping.

Considering how late it apparently was, Jacque, tempted as he might have been otherwise, knew there was no chance of battling the gym leader. He had already promised to himself that he would train more first, anyways, but he couldn't deny the fact that his pokemon were all a decent strength now, and a part of him wanted to get it done with. Still... he knew what happened next time. Tod was getting pretty strong, Jay could feel it, but hopefully he wouldn't get too strong before the next battle. He didn't want another Scy incident... And if it started getting questionable, he'd just switch him, and train Jesse for a bit.

In the meantime, however, he was going to try and train up his other pokemon. He made a quick trip to the poke'mart to buy himself a few things, including some honey and a few heartscales, as well as a couple treats for his pokemon, and the pokecenter to withdraw a few extra pokemon just in case, before setting out. Tod didn't mind to seem the darkness, and Zoey and Jay, obviously, weren't at all bothered by it. In fact, Jacque simply dawned a jacket to make up for the cold, and seemed otherwise completely unperturbed. Now that he was moving around, he actually felt fairly awake. Maybe they'd be able to get a good amount of training done before setting up camp after all.

Making his way to the pokecenter, the first thing Jay did was hand over all of his pokemon, except Quena, to get healed. She was still sleeping and had full health, thanks to Parabolic Charge, so he let her rest while he moved to get his arm treated. Luckily, while focused primarily on pokemon, Nurse Joy was able to treat his wounds, reassuring him that it didn't look too serious, and that if he just kept it bandaged, he'd be fine. She expressed some concern over how it happened, but he nonchalantly just mentioned an 'accident' and left it at that. He took the down time to look into the Big Mushrooms Mime Jr had mentioned, and call his mom, who was able to help him figure out what the best use for the items were. Sometimes sifting through his books was tiring... and using computers and the like were tedious, too. He really needed to look into getting a customized item or something...

Once all his pokemon were healed, Jay thanked Nurse Joy. He rearranged his team, and headed outside. Releasing Numel and Heracross, he gave them each a Mushroom, then returned them, keeping only Zoey out, on his shoulder, and Dedenne asleep in his pocket. Making sure he had everything, he headed for the gym, lifting his head up and striding in, Zoey's supersonic helping him navigate his way so he didn't stumble around. "If it ain't too much trouble," he announced, "Ah'd like t'challenge thuh gym leader." Burgh stepped out, giving a wide gesture with his arms. "Welcome! Prepare for a challenge-- my bug pokemon won't be easy to defeat!" he declared. Jay smiled, pulling Mary Lee's pokeball from his belt. "Ah'd expect nuthin' less from uh bug type trainer," he replied, his smile turning to a grin as the battle began.

] Burgh "Aww... I lost. Whatever! Losing to you doesn't bug me because you are a-MAZ-ingly strong! This is the Gym Badge! You beat me, so it's yours!" Burgh said after the battle was through. He then returned his Leavanny, approaching Jay. For him, he held out the badge and a tm for struggle bug. "Here you go- you earned this badge, and I'd like you to take this tm, Struggle bug, as well." He told the man.
Jay has received:Insect Badge TM #76 Struggle Bug And +60 exp split between battlers

Jay moved forward, patting Tod on the head as he passed him, and reaching forward to shake Burgh's hand as the battle ended. "Thanks ya vury much, sir," he replied, giving an appreciative nod of his hand. He took the badge, smiling as he ran his thumb over it, then tucked it away, to be put in his case later, taking the TM as well. "'Ppreciate it," he added, stepping back. He gave a wave, then, motioning towards Tod, headed for the doors. He wanted to go make sure Tod and Mary Lee got healed up, then, well... maybe he'd look into getting that fossil revived, and checking out some of the other regions.

After a few hours of research, Jay ultimately decided he would go back to Nacrene, so he could get his fossil revived. Evidently, they had a lab of some sort. He figured he could also put some honey on his way through, and then on his way back, see what it found, and ultimately come back to Castelia. Because, in the end, he figured going back to Kalos was probably a good bet. He needed to continue expanding his pokedex, but he could also go and catch up on his gym battles there, and do some training. It wasn't like he really had any other locations he needed or wanted to go to, and he hadn't really gone to Kalos much. It would be nice to explore.

With Ralts returned, Mime Jr asked if Mary Lee could be released from her pokeball, and Jay complied. He certainly didn't mind having the energetic fire pokemon out, and found it amusing that Mime Jr seemed to primarily want her teammate's company so she could get a free ride. Either way, Jay and his pokemon made their way out of the forest, and headed back towards the pokecenter, where he greeted Nurse Joy. Non of his pokemon really needed to be healed, so he made his way to the PC, where he picked up Mime Jr to stand on the surface by the keyboard, and help him out with maneuvering through the system, and making a decision on who to have where.

Ultimately, Jay decided to balance his team out a bit, and put Munchlax back into the computer system. He did withdraw Machop, though, so that he could try training it and perhaps evolve it. He was pretty sure he'd have to find someone to trade with for it's final form, but at least then he'd be ready when he encountered them. Once he had his pokemon organized and situated, he drew back from the PC, letting Mime Jr back down so she could walk-- meaning ride on Mary Lee's back-- to teh train station with them. Hopefully the wait for the train to arrive wouldn't be too long...

Once he'd bought his ticket, Jay had to wait a bit ofr the train to arrive. He sat down on a nearby bench, leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees. "Nuu~?" Mary Lee inquired, coming over, Mime Jr now sleeping, balanced, arms and legs dangling, on her stomach on Mary Lee's back. Jay smiled, his eyes closed. He reached a hand up, and Mary Lee brought her hand to it, closing her eyes happily. "Numel!" she chimed happily. He smiled, exhaling and leaning down a bit, gently petting her head. Tod came over, hopping up onto the bench beside him, looking around to keep an eye on the area.
Jacque continued petting Mary Lee, Tod right beside him, until the train showed up, and then stood. He let the pokemon stay out of their pokeballs -- there weren't too many people getting on the train this time -- but returned Mime Jr so she wouldn't fall off. Once he was aboard, he released Jesse, who immediately climbed her way up onto the seat beside Jay, and laid down, extending her arms out in front of her to drape them over his lap, and rest her head on his leg.

☆ ☆【Phoenix couldn’t help but get flustered in response to Kraven’s teasing question about sharing a bed, her blush flaring up even brighter when she heard her ebon-haired companion giggling at her reaction and Klaus chiming in as well. She wasn’t sure why she was getting so worked up over it, she understood full well that Kraven was only joking around. Well… with Kraven being her travel companion and friend, she supposed it was something she would have to get used to. She was still getting used to having someone else apart from her Pokemon and Clark to call a friend, and it was very clear that Kraven was the polar opposite of her childhood friend and practically adopted brother. Clark was the epitome of a lone wolf, the kind of person who would go out of their way to avoid pretty much everyone. He was a man of very few words when he did speak, and he gave off this aura that told anyone around him to keep away at least a hundred thousand feet. Kraven wasn’t like that in the least, from what Phoenix could gather she was quite excitable and came off as easy to approach and socialize with. Then again, she supposed that part of it came from the girl’s experience with working at the cafes around Lumiose… It was just that this kind of friendship dynamic between herself and Kraven was quite a bit different from what she was used to, but it was a good kind of different, at least she hoped so… Of course, Klaus was quick to swoop in to her rescue as he offered that Kraven could always share the bed with him instead. Phoenix quickly voiced her disagreement as she sighed and shook her head, and Kraven simply declined the offer with a light chuckle and said that she was fine. Besides, they would only have to worry about that if they actually did end up having to share a bed together, right? Taking a moment to clear the red from her face, Phoenix’s deep blue gaze glanced up shyly towards Kraven as her ebon-haired companion reassured that she was only joking and that she didn’t really think they would have to do something like that. The redhead gave a small smile in return, nodding in understanding towards her companion. While they had been in the midst of talking, Phoenix hadn’t realized that the line in front of them had virtually disappeared until she noticed the receptionist looking at them strangely out of the corner of her eye. Seemed that they were up next, and after regaining her composure the redhead went up to the desk to get their room. As she spoke with the receptionist, much to Phoenix’s chagrin it turned out that they only had one room available and that they could have it if they were willing to share a bed together. And to think that she and Kraven had been talking and joking about it not even five minutes ago, the fact that they would only have a one-bed room left of all things had self-fulfilling prophecy written all over it. Of course, it did make sense that they had a limited availability, especially since a lot of the people booking here were coming back from Tanabata. There was always the option of just going to look for another hotel that would hopefully have more rooms open or go right to the Pokemon Center, but Phoenix had enough experience with life as a vagabond to be leery of wandering the streets of Castelia at such an ungodly hour. And she was certain that Kraven was thinking the same as well. Well, this was certainly going to be an… interesting night… ’ Don’t overthink it… Just be an adult and handle this as maturely as possible…’ she repeated over and over in her head as she paid for the room and got the key, nodding in affirmation as the receptionist directed them towards their destination. With that done, Phoenix, Kraven, and Klaus made their way up the stairs to the first floor, where their room would be. No one said anything for the majority of the trip, the redhead trying to keep her composure despite the many different implications and possible scenarios that could come out of this weighing on her mind. She kept her eyes on the path ahead, occasionally thumbing the key she held in her hand nervously. Even though she felt sure that nothing weird would happen, this was still going to be awkward as all hell… It wasn’t until they got to the top of the stairs than did Kraven break the ice, requesting for Phoenix to stop her the next time she started joking about something that she didn’t think would happen. ” Will do,” the redhead answered quietly with a nod, keeping her dark blue gaze away from Kraven as they walked down the hall towards Room 118. It didn’t take them long to find the room, Phoenix wasting no time in unlocking the door and stepping inside to scout out their safe house for the night. It was a pretty nice looking room, she had to admit, with a fairly standard setup of the bathroom being next to the door and the closet across from it. The rest of the room was marginally more spacious, with a single queen-sized bed set up on one side and a cabinet with a good-sized TV propped up against the opposite wall. There was also a bit of space near the bathroom that looked to be a kitchenette kind of area, complete with a sink, two cabinets, an oven, a microwave, and a fridge. Phoenix was quite impressed with the accommodations, though she still couldn’t get over the thought of how this whole scenario was similar to that of how couples would book a one-bed room together at a hotel after a party or something. If anything, she was at least thankful that the bed wasn’t heart-shaped and the room wasn’t decorated with candles and rose petals all over the place… Otherwise the trifecta of awkwardness would surely be complete… Phoenix kept her eyes towards the floor as she shuffled further into the room, hearing the door close and lock with a click behind them after Klaus joined them inside and the faint squeaking of metal coils as Kraven sat down on the bed. The redhead finally brought herself to look towards her ebon-haired companion after what felt like an hour of complete silence, listening as Kraven asked if she wanted to take the liberty of getting changed first. It was clear that the other girl was trying to be as cool about this as possible, which Phoenix could appreciate immensely. The last thing they needed was for things to get even more awkward than they already were. ” If you don’t mind,” the redhead answered simply with a nod, all too happy to set down her guitar case against the wall adjacent to the bed and head into the bathroom with her bag in hand. Shutting the door behind her a bit more hastily than she intended, Phoenix took a deep breath and rubbed at her temples with her thin, shaky fingers as if praying to Arceus to give her the strength to get through this situation intact. She was trying her absolute damnedest to maintain a calm, composed front, but on the inside Phoenix was absolutely freaking the ******** out. She knew that Kraven had said before that she wouldn’t mind sharing a bed, so long as nothing too weird happened or something along those lines. Unless she hadn’t exactly meant that as a serious statement, though it hadn’t sounded like she had been joking at the time… Still, it was clear that neither of them had been prepared for a situation like this, and it had just come so out of left field that Phoenix wasn’t entirely certain of how to handle it in a rational manner. ’ Come on, Phoenix… Just breathe, in, out… in, out…’ she thought to herself, leaning over the sink as she took several deep breaths, her fiery locks falling around her face. She was probably making this a bigger deal than it was, she just needed to be cool and mature about this. They were fairly good friends, and they were both girls, there wasn’t anything weird about that, right? Right…? A few more deep breaths as Phoenix forced her quaking hands to still, and she focused on just getting out of her Tanabata outfit and back into her regular clothes. Sure enough, as Klaus had said, it was much easier to get out of the yukata than it had been to get in it. Phoenix folded up the dress and tucked it and the accompanying hairpins and other décor away in her bag, releasing the ponytail that held back her long red hair and letting it cascade over her shoulders and down her back. She quickly slipped into the simple white nightgown with blue trim along the edges, washing her face and performing the rest of her routine preparations before going to bed. Maybe she was getting all worked up over this for nothing… Besides, it was only going to be for the night, what was the worst that could possibly happen? Phoenix felt like she should smack herself in the face for that, after what happened earlier she should know better than to jinx things by now. Taking a few deep breaths to regain her composure, the redhead stepped out of the bathroom, setting her bag against the wall by the bed before turning to Kraven. ” It’s all yours now,” she said with a nod, offering a small, lopsided smile towards her ebon-haired friend. Klaus, on the other hand, had been leaning against the wall across from the bed, trying to keep himself awake every time his eyelids threatened to close.” Well, I’ll let you ladies work out the details of your arrangements, I think it’s about time for me to retire for the night… If you’ll excuse me,”he said with a soft chuckle, nodding towards them as he straightened himself. He bid them good night as he moved off towards one corner of the room where he had seen a large armchair, which he figured he would use for the night instead of overcrowding the bed with three bodies. The Zoroark clambered onto the chair, the seat having just enough room to accommodate him, and curled up on himself like a dog before closing his eyes and letting himself fall off to sleep at last.】☆ ☆

As her companion disappeared into the bathroom, Kraven let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. Helix, this was far more awkward than she would've thought. She joked so much about this possibility, thinking Phoenix was just overthinking things, but here they were. One or two elements missing to make this completely something couples did. She shook her head, realizing she needed to at least keep cool during all this. If she was freaking out she couldn't imagine how her red-headed friend would react.
Trying to take her mind off things, she started playing with her X-Tranciever. She went over some more information on her pokemon, and made a quick stop into the GTS app. She put one of the pokemon she caught before the Tanabata up, and with a yawn started sifting through her bag for the charging cable for her MP3. There was an outlet next to her side of the bed, so she just had to plug it in and set it down on the nightstand to charge. She took a casual glance over to Klaus, who struggled to stay awake, now just waiting for Phoenix to exit the bathroom.
Just before Kraven prepared to get up and check on her friend, she heard the door open and watched her friend enter back into the room. She kept her gaze about half-off her friend, nodding as she confirmed the bathroom was open for her. "Got it." The ebon-haired girl rose from the bed with her bag, and calmly moved over to the bathroom door. Before she went in, Klaus had curled up into a chair, and she couldn't help but laugh at the sight. "He really is just a big, fluffy dog huh?"
Then the ebon-haired girl entered the other room, closing the door behind her. She took one more deep sigh, before she moved in front of the mirror. Kraven lightly patted down the hair that sprung up from the absence of her headphones, and dug into her bag for something appropriate for sleepwear. She didn't exactly... have anything she usually slept in, so she opted to go for the lightest clothing she had. She quickly changed out of her hoodie and cargo pants into a light tank top and some shorts. It wasn't great, but it should be fine to sleep in.
Once she returned to the main room, she sat her stuff down next to the side of the bed she'd been on just a bit ago, and looked over to her red-headed companion. "I guess we'll just each take a side. I dunno if you wanna watch any TV or anything before bed, but I think I'm gonna get some sleep."
