Even though she was a little bit reinvigorated to walk back to Nuvema and hop on a train, Cheria wasn't looking forward to the ride. Cyrus started to eat from his plate of seafood after sitting down, taking this opportunity to look down at his dish instead of across to Apollo. After a few bites, he looked up as Apollo spoke up. His golden gaze met Apollo's face, but still somehow avoided looking into his eyes. "Well, I have to go back to Kanto and ... train... beat misty and surge." Cyrus answered with honesty for once, but kinda sounded like he wasn't really looking forward to training. Especially not with fricken Zak making him train two more pokemon, one of them being a fossil pokemon. It's going to be so difficult...
Argo happily chowed down on the crackers handed to him, leaving a bit of crumbs falling from his beak. When a little pink pokemon came out and glared at him, the Wingull stared, but then cooed as he nudged his head gently against Apollo's face, feathers rustling. "... Stupid bird..." Cyrus thought, staring at the wingull. Argo tilted his head innocently at his trainer, as if to say "if you give me one of your shrimp, I'll forgive you for ignoring me". The Egyptian ate the last shrimp from his plate. Argo looked a bit insulted, turning his beak away.
"What about you?" Cyrus asked his friend, briefly making eye contact before letting his gaze slide away. Hey, at least he was trying! He still felt horribly uncomfortable with making prolonged eye contact with his friend. It felt a bit like being under a microscope, and he didn't really want Apollo to be seeing through him like that.

After a few minutes, Cheria and Sheena were leaving Castelia and heading for the forest. It was a nice thought, being in the forest. Nature always called and suited her more than cities. Maybe she'd see a couple of Pokémon to take pictures of. A Beautifly flock would be great. Beautifly were oddly photogenic.

A silence fell over the table, interrupted only by the sound of silverware scrapping against plates and plastic being crinkled. With the hand that he wasn't using to feed Argo Apollo picked up the water he'd grabbed, draining half the bottle before he placed it back down onto the table. He quirked an eyebrow, dubious, when Cyrus confessed to returning to Kanto and taking on the next few gym leaders. It wasn't that he doubted Cyrus could take on and defeat the two, but he was just a bit taken aback by the tone in which he used to deliver such information. It was obvious that it wasn't much of a priority for the Egyptian. "Good luck," he said, nevertheless, before his mouth curled into a smirk. "Text me whenever you beat Misty, I imagine I'll have my fourth gym badge by then. Maybe I can pass down a few tips."
Ceti puffed out her cheeks, visibly irritated, when Argo rubbed himself against her trainer. She wasn't even really jealous-- not really at least, but, to her knowledge, this wasn't one of her teammates. So why was this bird being so buddy-buddy with him? And why was Apollo allowing it? Her gaze turned steely when the musician had the gall to laugh softly at Argo's affection, responding by scratching him underneath the beak and handing him another cracker. Ceti simmered down, however, when from his bag she was offered a berry. With a soft, appreciative, cry she took it into her hands and bit into it, already feeling better. Hah! She didn't see that bird getting any berries, just those dry crackers.
"I'll be making a few stops around the regions," Apollo answered, fully aware of how vague it was. It wasn't on purpose either, his plan just wasn't fully thought out yet. He wanted to get out of Unova, just for a bit, and visit the other regions, introduce his team to foreign pokemon and get them battle ready for their third gym battle. Taking note of the brief eye contact Cyrus made a point of making, Apollo surprised himself with the soft laugh that came from him. "Well, at least you're trying," he mused aloud.

Argo was more than content with the attention Apollo was giving him, happily munching away at the crackers, and continuing to give Cyrus the 'cold shoulder'. The bird didn't really care for the small pink pokemon that seemed to belong to Apollo.
Cyrus continued to eat a bit as he listened to Apollo's plan. It was vague, but that didn't really bother Cyrus. However, as he was looking across the table at his friend, he couldn't help but notice something. He abruptly stood, reaching out and grabbing Apollo's left wrist, looking at his bandaged hand. There were signs of dried blood on the bandage. "What happened?" Cyrus questioned, genuine concern in his voice, golden gaze fixed on his friend's injured left hand. He lifted his eyes a bit to look at Apollo's face briefly. It... wasn't serious, right? It only seemed like simple bandaging. Some color came to Cyrus' cheeks as Apollo had laughed softly at his attempt to try to make eye contact.

Apollo nodded, a smile still on his lips, "you're welcome." He wondered if Cyrus knew that he'd just been teasing him, since there was definitely no way he'd have his fourth gym badge anytime. It wasn't that he didn't have the drive to try and power through, because he did... it was just somewhere deep inside of him. The real reason was that he simply had other priorities to attend to first, going through the various regions, not to mention he wanted to take a bit of time off to focus more on his music. Since starting his journey he'd fulfilled only his childhood dream of being a trainer, but now as an adult he needed to remember that he actually had a livelihood to build up, which meant getting himself out into the music world.
Ceti, with berry half eaten, rested contently against her trainer's head. This left her back turned to Argo and as the saying went, 'out of sight, out of mind'; she could've cared less that he was taking up her trainer's attention. Taking another bite, the Cleffa waved a sticky hand towards Sylvia and gave her a muffled greeting, mouth still full. Sylvia afforded her a nod of recognition in return, though was unable to keep from rolling her eyes.
Apollo turned his head towards his plate, finishing up the rest of his food, but watched from his peripheral vision as Cyrus stood to his feet. Half-expecting him to move away from the table to throw away his tray, the bright-haired male looked up with a start when his hand was grabbed, startling Ceti enough to nearly topple her off her perch. "Eh?" He afforded a glance down at his left hand, realization brightening his previously confused gaze. "Oh, this." With a wave of his hand he dismissed Cy's concerned, as touched as he was, and gently pulled his hand back to his person. "It's nothing, just a scratch from a Rufflet." That demonic bird... he'd nearly forgotten about it and the injury it'd given him, but now with Cy's reminder he couldn't help but briefly wonder how Zak was faring, he had given the pokemon away to him. He hadn't heard from him in a while... perhaps he'd send him a text, see how the dem-- Rufflet and Mudkip were doing. Deciding to do that later, Apollo turned to look at Cyrus, his eyes narrowing in amusement. "I'm glad to see you so concerned about my well-being though, Cy. It's cute."

Argo was startled a bit as his trainer had moved suddenly to take hold of Apollo's left hand, hopping over to perch on the edge of the table. Cyrus let Apollo's hand slip away from his as he explained what had happened. "Stupid bird... You cleaned it though, right?" Cyrus grumbled under his breath at first, then questioned his friend. He soon felt warmth flooding to his face as Apollo called him cute for being concerned. Just because they hadn't seen each other in about a decade didn't mean he stopped caring... as much as the Egyptian didn't really want to admit to it. "... you don't even know how concerned i get..." he sighed lightly as he turned away to dispose of their trays, hardly giving Apollo a chance to respond.
Cyrus was not gone long, returning to the table where he had left Apollo. He... suddenly felt rather awkward about what he had mentioned before walking away. He tried not to think more about it, but... He gave in. It was... undeniable that he somehow still held some kind of fondness for his friend. The Egyptian definitely felt as if he sort of... owed Apollo something. His hand went to the eevee's ball in the pouch at his side. He did promise his friend to help him get his first pokemon. And though he could sell an eevee for a good price, and even more than that, Apollo had already started off without his help. There was a brief internal struggle before he made up his mind.
Shortly after returning to Apollo, Cyrus pulled out Eevee's ball and held it out to Apollo. "I... want you to have this. I'm... sorry i didn't keep my promise..." he told Apollo, looking directly at Apollo's face. Though, as he did so, he felt like he was going to explode from anxiety. It eventually got to be a bit too much for him, and his gaze started to slip away from those blue orbs. "Not that you need to forgive me or anything... Please, just take it. I'm sure you'll like it." he commented, ignoring the bit of him that was screaming 'noooooo it's valuable!'.

From out of his left ear Apollo could hear Ceti grumbling. Of course, he couldn't understand the actual words, but beneath the vexed 'Cleffa's' he could only imagine she was complaining about being nearly jostled off of seat. To make up for it he handed her another berry, the peace offering enough to silence her complaints. "Yes, mom, I cleaned it," he assured Cy, his smile turning into a grin the longer his friend fretted over him. Honestly, he didn't understand why he was fretting over such a thing. He'd been cut, he'd bled, but the worst was over and now all he had to do was wait for the wound to scab over. Apollo felt his grin slip away, quick to be replaced with a more somber expression, when Cyrus next spoke, leaving him with a few words that he failed to respond to.
With Cyrus now gone, off taking their trays away, Apollo slumped over the table and furrowed his brow, casting a random corner of the table a rather guilty look. He didn't know how concerned Cy got? Well... damn, he didn't have much of a joke for that, let alone a response. Even if he'd only been teasing, he now felt bad for taking his worry lightly. So he really did care? When his friend returned to the table the trainer pulled himself up from the table, straightening his back so as to obtain proper table etiquette. He opened his mouth, prepared to apologize, only to promptly close it when Cyrus broke the silence with an apology of his own.
He didn't bother questioning what promise, even if they'd made a hundred different promises as children, the one he was referring to was clarified when a pokeball was handed over to him. Apollo looked down from the red and white capsule back to his friend, his eyes widened in surprised before his expression relaxed. "Heh," he chuckled lightly, even as he accepted the gift and clipped it to his belt. "Cy, I already told you that it's fine," he reminded him, but quickly changed his tune to a more grateful one. "But, thank you. I'll take care of.. whatever's inside here." No need to ruin the surprise, though in hindsight it might've been wise to at least check to see what kind of pokemon Cyrus had given him. "I'm sorry too, by the way, for teasing you." Apollo stood slowly to his feet, stretching his arms upwards. "If we're both done apologizing, I believe you have a train to catch," he reminded the man. "Unless there's something else you want to do?"

Cyrus felt incredibly embarrassed by his action of giving Apollo the Eevee. It was nice to hear the other reassure him that it was alright. Ignoring that voice in the back of his head screaming about his 'generous gift', he smiled a bit, eyes straying down to the table. However, he looked up as Apollo stood, apologizing for teasing him. "D-don't worry about it, heh..." Cyrus mumbled. Really, the teasing hadn't been that bad, and certainly wasn't something he couldn't handle. Besides, he still felt like he was the one that should be doing the apologizing.
Argo finally gave in and flitted back over to Cyrus' shoulder now that it seemed snack time was over. He was still upset about the lack of shrimp sharing, but it was a usual behavior. The Egyptian, meanwhile, paid the bird no mind and considered what Apollo had said. To be honest, he wouldn't mind spending a bit more time with Apollo. But... he really needed to get back to Kanto for some badges, and get busy training. "It's been fun, but I probably should get going." Cyrus finally replied with a smile, attempting to make friendly eye contact.
However, before he left, he felt the need to give Apollo some advice. Seeing as it seemed he was likely going to be traveling a lot... "Uh, but I'd like to give you some advice for your travels. If you see a tall, dark, Russian man, please do yourself a favor and avoid him." he told his friend in a rather serious tone. He'd really hate for his friend to have a run in with Zak. In fact, he'd rather keep Apollo as far from that guy as possible. Especially now with Apollo being so... well, flirty.

Apollo flashed a grin, relieved, when Cy accepted his apology. With the air now cleared between the two he relaxed, arms falling back to join together for a momentary stretch, and momentarily turned his thoughts to the apology gift he'd been given. Given the type of pokemon he'd received, it could potentially be of use in his next gym battle. Of course, before he gave the idea too much thought he'd have to find out just what the pokemon was. All in due time, he supposed.
The weight on his shoulder disappearing brought him back to the present, and with mild amusement Apollo watched as Argo returned to perching on his trainer's shoulder, much to the relief of Ceti. Now finished with her second berry she pulled herself to her feet before making it a point to move to Apollo's other shoulder, almost as if she was reclaiming territory. Apollo nodded in understanding to Cy before he dropped down to collect his case, casting a curious look to his other pokemon to make sure they were done eating as well. "That's fine. We should plan to meet up sometime soon," he suggested as he turned back to look at the trainer.
Figuring that they'd at least walk out together, he waited for Cy to begin walking so that he could follow him. That didn't happen, and instead the other felt the need to share with him a bit of advice, a warning to stay away from a certain. Apollo raised an eyebrow, not at the warning itself but rather the description Cy gave. It was familiar, almost eerily so. Deciding to take a gamble he parted his lips to ask, "his name wouldn't happen to be Zak, would it? If it is, then it's a bit too late for that."

Cyrus really couldn't deny that some part of him really did want to meet up with Apollo again. Despite the emotional turmoil he held inside, he still rather enjoyed the other's company. "Yeah. That sounds nice." he responded with a small smile. The other moved to head out, but Cyrus felt the need to give some advice before they parted.
Cyrus moved ahead with Apollo while warning him about Zak. However, he soon found that Apollo actually already knew Zak. The Egyptian stopped in his tracks, paling a bit. s**t.... ********... no... it had to be a joke... But Apollo didn't sound like he was teasing. So... that meant... that that deal... with Zak... was all for nothing. Cyrus felt like screaming, but also like just bolting out and jumping into the harbor to drown. This... this was the absolute worst. "Oh... so... you already met Zak, then..." Cyrus muttered, trying to hold himself together before leaving his friend. He tried his best to hide that it really bothered him, though... well, Especially to the red head, it'd be obvious. "Er... well, you shouldn't trust him." he said, but before he could say any more, he was losing his nerves fast. "I-I've got to go. Talk to you later." he told his friend abruptly, then made a dash to get away. Argo was forced to take to the air and fly after him from the movement.
The cream haired male ran quite quickly away from his friend, heading right for the train station. He really needed to get away and find a place to just... be alone. Though the desert would have been perfect, he didn't feel like sticking around long. He should just go right to Kanto for training, where he can just let his pokemon do the work while he tried to ... at least somewhat get over the fact that he owed Zak a favor for no good reason at all, and that he was already acquainted with Apollo. He ... really hoped that Apollo wouldn't tell Zak about him, especially from his child hood.

Apollo tipped his head to the side, his left eyebrow quirking and lips pursing lightly. When he'd confirmed the man's identity Cyrus hadn't exactly been overjoyed, but what he didn't see was to what extent that displeasure went. "Yup," he drawled, confirming his low mutter. "I take it you know Zak?" What a small world! It was rather amusing to think that his childhood friend knew his other... what exactly was Zak to him anyway? An acquaintance? Business partner? Friend with subtly implied benefits? He blinked, surprised, at the next bit of information given to him, his previous expression evolving from simple confusion to downright befuddlement. "I shouldn't trust him? ..Is there any particular reason now?" Unfortunately, he'd never get his answer as Cyrus quickly dismissed himself, leaving Apollo behind to contemplate his cryptic warning.
He huffed, watching as the cream-colored male made a mad dash for the exit, the automatic doors sliding to a close before he was even out of sight. Apollo scratched the side of his head, rather disgruntled at the way Cyrus had left things. He... he really needed to work on his goodbyes. The musician stood where he was for another good minute before he finally began moving, exiting the Pokecenter with his mind still on Cyrus and his parting words. If he really wanted to, he could chase after the male and demand an answer, but he didn't know where the other had gone and searching the entire city was too strenuous, even for him. So in the end he simply decided to continue on with his original plan, he'd just text Cyrus on a later date.
Arriving at the train station he stopped only long enough to decide which region he'd grace with his presence, ultimately deciding on Johto. It was a nice place to visit this time of the year, and the pokemon around Goldenrod were strong enough to give his pokemon a work out, without overpowering them. His decision made Apollo purchased a ticket, and while waiting for his train he returned all but Ceti, his smallest companion. The train arrived and after taking a firmer hold on his case he stepped on.
