I'm not quite sure what Fiasco is.

From the back of the book:

Quote:
Fiasco is a game inspired by films like Blood Simple, Fargo, and A Simple Plan. During a session you and your friends will engineer and play out stupid, disastrous situations that exist at the darkly comic intersection of greed, fear, and lust. It's like making your own Coen brothers movie - in about the same amount of time it'd take to watch one.

For 3-5 players and 2-3 hours. No preparation required!

I haven't had a chance to actually play it yet, due to the transient reliability of the Las Vegas gaming community ( stare ), but I have the book + the companion book.

Fiasco is shenanigans, Raga.

Basically it is streamlined random character creation followed by roleplay.
Characters are created out of a community dice pool. 4d6 x # of players.
riends
You roll all of the dice and sort them by number.

First you can pick a broad relationship category for the player on your right or left. Maybe something like this:
1-Friends
2-Other
3-Business
4-Family
5-Criminal
6-Romantic

Then they can do the same to the next player OR they can further define your relationship. So lets say that you chose criminal.
1- Crimes favorite couple
2- Former cellmates
3- Scam artist and victim
4- Brains and muscle
5- Newly minted gangsters
6- Junkie and Dealer

You can also do objects and locations that may be important to the story.

Players the roleplay out scenes.

Either they can choose who they do the scene with and let another player decided the outcome, or they can let the group choose the scene and they choose the outcome.

After 2 rounds you have what is called the tilt, something goes wrong.
You go around the table twice more for another round of scenes.

Then you roll the dice that you were awarded, negative dice and positive dice. And based on what was rolled you give a montage ending of what became of your character.
