Tamaki sat on one of music room three's most luxurious couches awaiting the arrival of one Kyouya Ootori. They were to discuss the usage of club funds, or rather the gross misuse of the funds. Kyouya insisted that all the recent income from their calendar sales should be used for club upkeep, however Tamaki, closer to the club's patrons and other members than the shadow king, knew what the money should be used for. He was waiting patiently, which for Tamaki meant that he had yet to hunt down Kyouya himself. He hated waiting.

Fortunately for Tamaki, Kyouya was the sort that was perpetually punctual. Even his occasional desire to mess with his best friend would not permit him to be deliberately late. (Or perhaps he was a chronomancer and able to force time to his will. Others had accused him thereof on a few occasions*, to which Kyouya had simply smiled in response.)
The double doors of the host club opened and closed at precisely 2:45 on the dot, revealing the club vice-president. Since it was before the club was officially ready for guests, the usual swirl of rose petals was conspicuously absent. Kyouya had seen fit to tell the facial-recognition software that it didn't need to activate the petal dispenser for him when they weren't in session.
"Hello, Tamaki." Kyouya crossed over to the couch opposite his best friend, noting the impatience radiating from him. He took a seat, setting his laptop in front of him and his notebook immediately at his right hand. "You wanted to discuss the the latest budget?" There was a hint of curiosity mixed with mild suspicion in his tone. It wasn't that Tamaki never had an interest in the cash flow, but more that it never failed that that interest always signaled something extravagant and usually impractical ...* (( Yes, that happened in-game a couple times! ))

"Ah, Kyouya!" Tamaki all but shouted as he sat up a bit more straight in his seat. Kyouya had brought his notebook and laptop of course, (they never left his side to Tamaki's knowledge) and so he knew he was ready for business. "Yes, I did want to discuss a rather glaring error in the cosplay budget with you." Of course Tamaki knew that his friend never made mistakes. He never arrived late and he had never known him to make a mistake where numbers were involved, as if he were indeed some sort of human calculator. He was the ultimate accountant, and as such was the only person Tamaki would ever trust with the club's bookkeeping. He had tried to do the math himself once, with rather disastrous results. ((Ah, really? That sounds hilarious!))

(( It was pretty awesome. )) If Kyouya was amused at how quickly his best friend got excited, the only sign was a sliver of a smile. (Truth be told, that smile was at least partially fueled by the fact that he was glad to see him too, even if he was now anticipating a throwdown over something involving too much money.)
One slim black eyebrow lifted in cool query. "An error." It was a statement of calm disbelief, not a question. "And this error would be?" Kyouya was certain that the problem was not a mathematical error, between his own skill with numbers and the computer's necessary record-keeping. They were still in the black, and quietly turning a small profit. No, this would be something regarding allocation, most likely. He reached over to the keyboard and tapped briefly, bringing up the club's monthly report and their various planned expenditures.

Tamaki looked at Kyouya as calmly as he could. He saw his friend's slight smile, and because of his overly excitable nature this made him want to dance for joy. However despite his excitement in seeing Kyouya, he knew that there was only one way to reason with him. That one single way was with logic, logic backed up by facts, and if need be a little bit of whining and schmoozing. It never worked as well on the host club members as it did their guests, and if it did work at all it worked least on the young Mr.Ootori. However this was a calculated risk that Tamaki had to accept if he were to ever get anything done. "Do you love our little Cherub?" He was dancing around the question in his over the top way as he always did. He knew that Kyouya would understand that he was talking about Haruhi, and Haruhi was the way to get into even the darkest of hearts. Using her as a route would be the only way to get into the club's coffers.

Unfortunately for Tamaki, referencing love wasn't logic, and it was the fastest way to get those coffers to slam shut. Mildly exasperated, Kyouya entertained a brief mad idea of sarcastically declaring his undying love for their secret princess, just to watch Tamaki descend into his corner of woe. He summarily dismissed it as a notion really only worthy of the twins.
"Whatever my sentiments are for Haruhi, they have nothing to do with the club finances," he pointed out levelly. "I can only assume that you mean to say that the error is in relation to her funds allocation. Her personal allocation is the same as the rest of us, aside from the extra account I maintain for Honey-senpai's cake expenses."

Part of Tamaki had known that Kyouya would react in such a way, however he simply could not help himself where Haruhi was concerned. "But Mommy, there has to be some money in the budget to get our little girl some new dresses!" He feigned pain and fell back onto the couch, covering his eyes with his hand dramatically. "My poor little Haruhi, only three cosplay gowns for the entire semester!" Sitting back up and removing his hand he tried to quiet his dramatics. "Don't you think three is too few? Many of our guests do love to see Haruhi in splendid dresses." Being that hysterics did not work, they never did with Kyouya, he tried to play to the business appeal of dressing up his darling.

An Ootori never rolled his eyes. So Kyouya didn't. He did, however, reach for his calendar, and opened it briskly to the list of cosplay dates. "Three gowns is plenty. She'll be wearing Anne of Austria when we do The Three Musketeers, Marguerite St. Just for The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Murasaki from Tale of Genji." He closed the notebook with a snap.
He folded his arms thoughtfully and leaned back, relaxed and confident that the facts were on his side. "If you insist she wear more dresses, people may begin to grow suspicious, you know. She's already dressed as a female more frequently than any of the rest of us, including the twins put together."

"I think the club could use some more dresses~" Razik said, walking by on all fours with a tray balanced on his back. He bucked the tray into the air, then did a somersault forward landing on his feet and catching the tray in his hands as he finally stood up. "The closest we ever get are kimonos and those can be sooo boring~! We need to spice it up a bit! Only honey wears dresses around here..." The fox-like host gasped, "We should ALL crossdress! Girls like that sorta thing right?" The poor boy steadfastly agreed with Tamaki, unaware of his evil lecherous intent. (Had to pop in cat_xp )

Tamaki sighed as Kyouya again faced him with logic. Why could his friend never just enjoy himself in the passion of the moment instead of thinking everything out? He lived his life freely and enjoyed it, why could Kyouya not join him in such a revelry? In truth he knew why, and did not bring it up. Despite his energetic nature he could understand which subjects were simply a bit too touchy to bring up. He watched as Razik entered the room, in his odd, yet graceful manner. And he had to admit that he had taken a liking to him, as he had to all the members of the host. The same liking that he took to all people for the most part, save a few certain Lobelia Academy ladies. "Thank you Razik for your input. Can't you imagine a cross dressing day? Ah I can picture it now! We would all adorn ourselves with the finest French Regency Gowns and Marie Antoinette coiffures! The ladies would be ecstatic!" He fell back onto the couch once more. He had a feeling he was fighting a losing battle, but he wouldn't give up quite yet. His can do spirit simply would not allow it.

(( *tips Raz* )) Kyouya mulled over Razik's suggestion and Tamaki's addition, one hand cupping his chin as he thought. His best friend was ever-impulsive, but that didn't mean his ideas weren't decent at times. Truthfully, while this wasn't the most brilliant idea that had crossed the blond's mind, in Kyouya's estimation, it was at least less-objectionable than being forced to wear cat ears, so he was willing to entertain the notion for a moment.
"We've already got two French-historical cosplays with The Three Musketeers and The Scarlet Pimpernel. The costumes haven't yet been ordered, so I'd be amenable to changing one for another, but adding a third is too many. We're the host club, after all, not the French club." The light glinted off his glasses, and he noted with a deceptively mild smile, "Convincing Mori-senpai will be your job, not mine."

Tamaki could tell that he had somehow gotten through to Kyouya and although he hadn't gotten exactly what he had wanted he was merely happy to have made up for lost ground. However with Kyouya there was always some catch, always the business man. The catch, in this case was not only the fact that he would have to replan an already scheduled event, but also the fact that the Ootori man knew full well the fundamental impossibly of getting Takashi Morinozuka to wear a woman's attire. Tamaki imagined trying to get Mori to wear a dress and almost immediately lamented the failure of his plan. There were a lot of things Mori would do for the sake of the Host Club, however Tamaki seriously doubted that wearing a dress was one of those things. He knew the tall, calm, cool and collected man would not stand for wearing ladies clothes. He supposed that the best way to get him to do so would be through Honey. "Perhaps Honey Sempai would give me a hand?" He was already feeling the sense of dread that came with the possible failure of his ingenious plan. Tamaki was a lot of things, but he would not be a failure.
