Any sort of discussion about Hyrule Warrior goes here - other threads will be deleted. Please label any sort of spoiler with bold letters or something. Don't make it easy to miss - that's just rude.
I'm still a little iffy about getting it, but I feel like I might be a little bored at school with it. It looks like a a good stress reduce at any rate. biggrin I guess I'll see what my wallet says later.

The Iegend of ZeIda I love the new zelda design heart She's very pretty! I haven't looked at what she can do yet though. Truth be told, I haven't looked at any of the character trailers.

Oh man, I'm so excited. They just announced Ocarina of Time stages and costumes today, I think. I wonder if they'll throw in Wind Waker!
Anyway, here's what I know.
Playable Characters:
Link - he's got three DLC costumes, from Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, and Ocarina of ********' Time.
Zelda - this babe, along with her new design which is pretty as hell, also has DLC costumes from Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, and Ocarina of Time. Sweet.
Impa - I'm gonna be honest, she's my favorite. Giant longsword, sweet-a** design, and general badassery.
Midna - I heard you'll have to fight her first before she comes to your side? Shrug. She can conjure up a Twilit wolf and she uses her hair.
Agitha - I'm scared of Agitha, like seriously. She uses bugs for weapons.
Lana - New bluenette, I guess? She's involved with the big bad, Cia, somehow. They're pissed at each other. So basically the game is setting up Lana and Cia for the biggest catfight on the planet.
Fi - *dancey dances on the blood of my enemies*
Ruto - you can play as Ruto I don't really think I have to say more.
Darunia - Sadly, he does not have rock nipples in this version. Pity.
Sheik - I love Sheik, but I'm not looking forward to all the drama about Sheik's gender that this is gonna cause to be honest.........
Enemies
Cia - Big bad herself. She's been opening a bunch of portals in different realms, which explains why all these characters are together.
Valga - Cia's right hand man??? shrugs
Wizro - Wizrobe??? idk man but it sounds spooky
Zant - more spastic clown, wooo!
Ghirahim - Oh god, I cannot wait for Ghirahim and Ganondorf to meet. I hope he joins the good guy roster after you beat him.
Ganondorf - Oh yeah, he's apparently in this too. Sweet.
So in other words, this hack-n-slash is basically going to turn into every fanfiction writer's wet crossover dream. I personally hate games that focus on combat, but I'd buy this in a heartbeat. Too bad I don't have a Wii U. :c
...You know, I wonder, since they brought in Ghirahim, will they bring in Demise too? o:

Jenn, when you put it that way it does sound tempting. I mean, it just feels good to hit things. I'm going to need more than Mario on my Wii U eventually. I should set aside some money to just go ahead and buy some games for myself.
Hah, is there still drama over Sheik's gender?

Gonna be honest: if I get this, it's gonna turn into my frustration outlet game. I will gladly murder mobs as Agitha for an hour to blow off some steam.
And yes. There's a ton. The Sheik tag on tumblr is chaotic, apparently, with people ranging from polite "it's whatever you want it to be" to "Zelda physically transformed into a man the non-canon manga says so" to "Sheik is Zelda and therefore Sheik is a girl and you're wrong" to a dozen other things. The ZU forums are probably in an uproar about it, too, but I don't bother with ZU often enough to check.

Okay, people need to relax a little. e.e There's a reason why Nintendo hasn't completely confirmed it (because Brawl does not count as canon) and that's because it's meant to be a mystery. People will be mad if they say anything either way. I dunno, I think I might stick with Link or Darunia if possible. I tend to gravitate towards playable guys than playable girls.

I don't think it's meant to be a mystery so much as it's intended for everyone to interpret it in their own way. You think Sheik is a dude? Okay. You think Sheik is a girl? Okay. My favorite headcanon is the one where Sheik is Zelda physically transformed into a guy, and Link falls for both of them. Because bi Link ftw. Personally I don't think it matters much - characters shouldn't be defined by their genders.
As for me, I'm probably gonna try them all out, but stick mostly with the girls. Which isn't going to be hard, seeing as 90% of the roster is female. I'll probably go with Lana - mage girls are a favorite of mine.

And Link being bi totally works. From what I heard about the Dynasty games in general is that the roster tends to be pretty even when it comes to gender representation. I can't really imagine really many more male characters that would make it even. It's hard to say because they made Ruto and Agitha into playable characters and I definitely didn't think that would happen. And they're obviously not beyond adding original characters either, like Cia and Lana. I guess we'll see.

I just checked out the trailer! It looks amazing. I'm definitely getting it!
Also, on the official Nintendo website on August fourth they will be having a livestream where they will announce more about the game, WiiU, and lots more. Just google search "Hyrule Warriors" and click on IGN's article about it. They tell more about the livestream there. smile

To add to the above info: It's August 4th in America, August 5th in Europe. In America it'll take place 8 PM PST, 11 PM EST, and 10 PM CST.
There's also going to be another event this Friday on NicoNico (you'll need an account though) at 7:30 EST, 6:30 CST and 4:30 PST (those are all AMs) where Yosuke Hayashi, Furusawa Masaki and Watanabe Hiroshi - the producer, director, and writer of Hyrule Warriors respectively - will be talking about Twilight Princess stages and characters.
The stream'll be in Japanese, but there'll probably be translations floating around on tumblr afterwards.
