Hikaru and Kaoru left the dressing room, having finally finished putting away the last props and accessories from the most recent Host Club cosplay. While they probably could have gotten their maids or some other assistants to do it, these costume bits they wanted to handle themselves, to make sure they were put away correctly. Plus, Kyouya was there, and had asked them to meet up with him after they were done and before they left the club (was it asking when any suggestion that came from the Ootori seemed more like a subtle command that could have unpleasant consequences if not followed? oh well). Unsure of what he wanted to talk about, they spotted him and quickly moved over to his location, sort of hoping that he might want to discuss the pirate cosplay they were so excited for. "Everything's put away, Kyouya-senpai," they spoke in unison as they reached him, waiting for him to initiate whatever conversation they had been called over for.

Kyouya had just been wrapping up taking notes on the most recent hosting session, and he set his notebook down, a thoughtful look in his eyes. If the twins looked over his shoulder, they could see a record of which of the guests had enjoyed the most recent cosplay, and little details on personal preferences. "Good," he said, and when he turned to them, that soft gleam of I'm plotting something had lit up behind his glasses. "How much free time do you two think you'll have before the pirate cosplay starts? I have a little game you might be interested in." He turned to the back of his notebook, and deftly removed a single folded sheet of paper, spreading it out in front of them and smoothing it. On it were the schematics of the campus, and a note in Kyouya's crisp handwriting: The Giant Rock Candy Treasure -- Pirate Cosplay Activity.

The twins looked at each other when the club vice-president mentioned a game, and each raised an eyebrow, perfectly mirroring the other, before looking back at him. "We've always got free times for games," Hikaru replied. "Especially ones that you suggest," Kaoru added, both of them intrigued by the second-year's plotting. What was he up to-? Ah. They leaned in to inspect the map, smiles growing slowly but surely. "Are you proposing a treasure hunt, Kyouya-senpai?"

"You could say that." Picking up his pen, Kyouya used it to gesture at the map. "There are a few spots we could hide it," he indicated several locations around campus, ranging from the clock tower to the pool to the rose maze, and even behind the science building in one of the modern sculptures. He paused, the pen suddenly still, as he flashed them that calculating smile. "But I think a treasure hunt with no challenges attached isn't much more than a hide-and-seek game, don't you? We should do something to liven it up, and make it a bit more interesting than just a simple scavenger hunt."

The Hitachiins stood up again, resting their hands on their hips as they thought. "Challenges will definitely be needed. Wouldn't want this game to get boring! We could turn it into a competition and split into two or more teams..." Hikaru began. "...or we could set up some pirate-themed obstacles, or both. Oh, and who's going to hide it? You, or us, or even a third party so that we three can participate in the search as well?" Kaoru finished. Both had their usual look of mischief now, a glint in their eyes that affected their whole countenance.

"How about a bit of both? Multiple teams and obstacles? Remember that Halloween fright-fest?" Kyouya reminded them. "If we set up the course to run them through some of the more constricted areas of the school, we can set up some interesting surprises. Nets, skeletons, some clues they have to unravel ..." He tapped the map, tracing a line that followed one of the underground steam tunnels that was used to service the school. "I have this area in my head, but I suspect most of the rest of them haven't explored it too thoroughly. It's a bit mazelike, and we could set up all kinds of things down there. It's misty from the steam exhaust and creepy enough with the lights off ..." He paused at the question about who would set it up, cupping his chin with his hand as he thought. "I think that depends on whether or not you two want to take an active role in scaring people off of it. Not that you couldn't while you were searching, I suppose. But if none of us hide it, who would we ask to do that?"

At the mention of Halloween the twins nodded in sync. "Sounds good to us. We can set everything up, then split the hosts and the guests into teams when the time comes, if they don't do it on their own, that is," Kaoru said. "And those tunnels sound like they'll supply the perfect atmosphere. We could give each team a map to mark their paths, just so they don't get too lost..." The corner of Hikaru's mouth twitched slightly as he resisted smirking at the thought of sabotaging Tamaki's map. He and Kaoru could discuss that later, when they weren't in front of the blonde's best friend. "We could ask someone who works at Ouran, or get our personal maids and bodyguards and such to hide it, after Kaoru and I set up the traps. Or we could even give them the plans for the traps so that the locations of those are a surprise even to us," he suggested, shrugging. "It would make things more interesting and equal in the competition." Not that the twins cared that much about equality, enjoying every edge they could get against competitors - but having less predictability to keep them from boredom was always preferable. "But you're right senpai, we do enjoy taking active roles. So we don't have to be a part of the competing teams, we could just be 'guardians of the treasure' or something like that," Kaoru added, smiling at the possibilities.

Kyouya mulled it over, leaning on one elbow. Not that he doubted the skill of the Hitachiin maids and bodyguards -- they had to put up with the twins, after all! -- but there was always that little element of control that he preferred to have. On the other hand ... it would be interesting to see how things fell out, if no one at all knew how things were set up. Much like the twins, Kyouya was fond of games ... and his fears were not the kind that would be played on in this encounter. Quick calculations flashed past as he mulled over their ideas. "How about this?" he suggested, after a moment's thought. "We'll partner a couple of my bodyguards up with a couple of your maids, and have them construct it with our guidance." Adding his people into the mix would ensure that nothing was too dangerous, and Kyouya would make sure that he got a correct map of the layout when they were done. It would be safest if someone in their group knew enough to explain to any school officials who missed the memo. But he didn't have to look at it until it became necessary. "As for the treasure guardians ... hmm. I wonder if Satoshi and Chika might be interested, actually," he mused. "It might be quite a bit of fun for them ..."

They nodded in response to Kyouya's ideas, not minding the extra supervision on the setup of the traps - the most fun mischief and chaos could be improvised during the game. "Works for us," Hikaru replied. "Will Honey-senpai and Mori-senpai be okay with their brothers in that role? Or will it be a surprise?" By Kaoru's innocent tone of voice, most would think he was being considerate toward the third years by suggesting they be consulted. Yet someone as observant as Kyouya - especially since he knew them pretty well by now - would be able to tell that the twins were leaning more toward it being a surprise, yet another type of "trap" that could throw off the competition (plus, it would be interesting to see people's reactions if they weren't expecting the younger Haninozuka and Morinozuka).

"I think it'd be less interesting if Honey and Mori were anticipating it." Perhaps Kyouya's mind was off and running on another one of his little experiments -- though how this one would benefit him was anyone's guess. "I'll call Satoshi and Chika after class tomorrow and see if they're up for it." He pulled his notebook towards him, and opened to a fresh page. "Let's make a quick list of ideas ... " (( Willing to cut here, if you want -- we can talk the full details over on Skype or we can do it here, whichever you'd prefer. ))
