Strawberry made her third turn on the track course, veering into the third row so she could add some of the hurdles into her run. 80's rock beat a steady rhythm in her ears as she ran. The blonde took a deep breath, readied herself and bolted over the first hurdle. She ran about twenty feet and then launched herself over the second. This pattern continued for four more hurdles before the track cleared and she headed around the circuit again.

Daniel sighed quietly to himself, notching an arrow as he readied his bow. He was one of the few students out, practicing his archery since he wasn't in a club for it (if there even was one). The wind was being impractical, giving strong gusts at random times because of a storm earlier in the night, so he waited until he was sure the wind wasn't going to blow before he shot.
Naturally, nature is a pain in the butt and sent a gust of wind, knocking his arrow off course and it flew... Just over a blonde's head. 's**t.'

Strawberry had just readied herself to leap a hurdle, leaning down slightly-which was thankful since at that moment a stray arrow shot just above her head. The blonde came to a sliding halt, almost slipping on the asphalt. Small pale fingers picked up the arrow before she searched the course for it's owner. It wasn't difficult since there was only one person there besides herself. Strawberry pulled out her ear buds, letting them hang against her chest, as she jogged over to the boy.
"I think you lost something." She said simply, holding the arrow out. "You should be more careful though, that could have been my head." The blonde was serious, but the small smirk that tugged up her lips showed she wasn't actually upset.

Daniel nodded, frowning as he took the arrow. "My apologies... The wind is not cooperative today. Not the best day to shoot it seems." He notched the arrow, pulling back and letting it fly into the target. "You seem familiar though. Do I know you from somewhere, maybe?" He glanced at her as he slid another arrow out of his quiver, notching it as well.

Strawberry watched him shoot curiously before her green eyes gave him a once over.
"We have the same homeroom. 2B." The blonde supplied helpfully. "I'm Strawberry." She added with a bright smile, holding her hand out. Again she forgot the bowing custom.

Daniel shot the arrow, smirking, before he looked back at her and lit up at the handshake offer. Another American! "Daniel. It's nice to meet you formally, Strawberry." He set the bow aside and shook her hand before pulling into a bro hug (you know those hugs dudes do with the hand clasp in between them--). "And it's nice to know a fellow American." He let her go, grinning. "How long have you been in Japan?"

[Sorry, kid birthday party. So crazy.]
Strawberry couldn't help but chuckle at the bro hug.
"It's nice to meet you-is it okay if I call you Danni?" The blond asked as she pulled out of the hug.
"Just since the beginning of the year. But my dad has worked in Japan since I was born so I know the language pretty well." Strawberry explained, slipping easily into English. "How long have you been here?" She tried to remember noticing him before in class, but she rarely paid attention to the other students. She had to work hard in all her classes.

"If I may call you Ichigo, you may call me Danni." Daniel grinned at his own play on words, listening to her small story. So she hadn't been here long. Huh. "I moved to Japan when I was fourteen. My mother married my step-father and we moved here to live with him after I was formally adopted." He made a face. He honestly disliked his step-father, bt thinking of Arianna, his face lit up once more. His kid step-sister was such a firecracker and he adored her. Anyways... "What brings you out here, by the by? It's a bit chilly, so I didn't really think anyone would be out.."

The blonde laughed and nodded.
"Alright deal." She grinned.
Strawberry recognized that look. It was the same look she got when she spot of her mother.
"Oh, I'm on the Volleyball team, but I always come out and run a couple hours every morning. I wasn't able to this morning, so I though I'd get in my running now." She explained. Strawberry loved the cold. She hadn't experienced it much growing up in Texas, but she quite enjoyed coming out in the cooler weather.

Daniel made another face at the mention of volleyball. "Hate that sport... Hurts too much. I question how you can stand it, Ichigo-kun." He chuckled as he grabbed his bow and pulled out an arrow. "Have you ever shot before?" He raised the bow, arrow notched, pulling back to the end of the arrow just barely brushed his lips. "I can teach you if you'd like." Swoosh. Plunk.

Strawberry shrugged. "Less pain than roller derby." She said nonchalantly. It was true. She used to get bruises the size of softballs from the hits she would take during a match.
"Not a bow, but I'm a pretty good shot with a gun." She was Texan after all. But Strawberry watched him shoot with curious eyes. "You wouldn't mind showing me?" The blonde asked, excitement and eagerness dancing in her green eyes.

Daniel chuckled. She had a point.
"I wouldn't mind, but we'll have to get close." He smirked and held his bow in one hand, holding out the other towards her. "Come here, back against me."

Strawberry nodded, seemingly unaffected by his words though color rose in her pale, freckled cheeks. The blonde stepped toward the archer, back just barely brushing against his chest.
"Like this?" She asked softly, focusing her attention on the arrow. This was just a demonstration, that's all. It didn't mean anything. Though she couldn't help but notice the sweet scent that drifted from Danni. Damn over sensitive sense of smell.

Daniel blinked, grinning at the blonde's height. She was a foot, or just about that, shorter than him. He crouched slightly, resting his head on her shoulder as he brought the bow up. "Perfect. Now, hold onto the bow like so." He moved so his arms were around her, fingers resting on the bow and the string where the arrow would be pulled back before he handed it to her. "Once you're done, notch an arrow." He took the one she had, sticking it where it belonged, then handing it to her as well. "Got it?"

The blonde blushed more as his chin tested on her shoulder, his breath tickled her cheek and it made her wonder how bad she smelled after running. Strawberry was once again very thankful she wore deodorant AND perfume before going out. So hopefully the cherry blossom and toasted vanilla out powered the sweat. Her fingers shook slightly as she wrapped them around the handle and notched the arrow.
"I pull back, aim and release right?" Strawberry asked, doing just that. The string bit into her fingers, catching the blonde off guard. A sort of squeak noise escaped her lips and she jumped, pressing herself closer to Danni as the arrow flew free. "Oops." She groaned, the arrow nose diving and sticking into the ground.
