challenged to a race but i hit decline (A)

i finally got let into flash spaces and honestly it looked crowded and boring but someone challenged me to a race but i dont even know the first thing about races or challenges so i declined it

how does one race? what is a challenge? can they rechallenge you again? what is the deal with rally being so crowded? even when i get there it is like why was i in such a hurry to get to this space?
