"....and that is how you gut a man with nothing but a rusty spork and a barley functional army knife for warmth. Believe it or not, there is such a thing as a wrong way to do it."

Blanka sat across from Kyandii with cups of black coffee before them. They calmly spoke of their own rough experiences with the utmost delight and pleasantly enjoying the company.

Kyandii made a point of looking thoughtful over the words she had just heard from the woman across from her. "Well, if it prevents the body from cooling faster, that would definitely make sense." Not that she seemed fond of the idea of using a corpse to keep warm to begin with. But the reasoning and science behind the discussion was interesting enough. And it amused her.

She brought the coffee to her lips, wincing ever so slightly from the bitterness but toughing it out for the sake of liquid energy. "I already mentioned some of the details of the city, but were you self-taught, or?" Kyandii might have been looking the woman up and down quite openly, and curiously as she silently considered just what kind of weapons she could possibly have hidden on her person.

Any trained fighter would know when they are being sized up by a person when it's happening. Smart girl. You never know when someone could be holding a weapon ready to strike underneath the table or if they're savoring the moment to strike later. This gesture alone proved to Blanka that Kyandii's experiences were indeed real. However, she couldn't resist the urge to poke fun at it in her own unique way.

"Well well. If you wanted to examine me so thoroughly, I would have asked to be somewhere more private" he sense of humor was as straight forward as her personality. Caring for situation awkwardness was a waste of time and was never a priority to keep track of in Blanka's mind.

She immediately grinned in response, unable to resist the small amount of laughter that escaped her. "I'm not shy about thoroughly examining something, or someone in this case, that I can appreciate." In more ways then one.

Kyandii, your bisexual is showing.

It had been awhile since she could fully enjoy a conversation of this subject and caliber as well. Ouran and all. So needless to say, she was very please to have been acquainted with this pretty deadly lady. Even if she was good at avoiding her questions. "Though I'm quite sure I'm not as... experienced." Again, in more ways then one.

Raising an eyebrow from interest, Blanka interlocked her hands and rested her chin on top of her hands with her elbows on the table. "Well then, perhaps with enough time maybe I'll take you on as an apprentice and....teach you a some things to make you better at that. You can never be too....careful..." her tone of voice and grin was very suggestive and it was clear that the russian beauty was having fun with it. Male or female, being suggestive was fun for her.

Moving back to her questions, she closed her eyes while explaining in her calm demeanor again. "Most of the things I learned were self taught. However, it was with the help of my dear friend and partner Anya did we manage to get through some tough things. Things that would be hard to retell since it's hard to describe what surviving in the tundra of mother russia's unforgiving winter is like with nothing but the clothes on your back and one knife. But we make it fine"

Blanka took another sip of her coffee. Black and bitter just the way she likes it. "This city. I have heard of it. Tough place to be. I'm surprised you have both hands. I'm assuming you are good with guns yes?"

While she asked her question, Blanka purposefully moved her hand beneath the table. Slowly, she inched her hand closer to her ankle as they spoke. Testing her.

Oh. This was fun. How had she missed this woman back at the ski resort that everyone else apparently met her at? Why the hell was she the one that had to miss it? "Apprentice?" The younger female seemed the tiniest bit surprised by the mention. "I have a couple of teachers. But they're men." And although there was absolutely nothing wrong with that, and they didn't fail in their teachings, they were... gentle, probably with her safety in mind in their training. This woman seemed more like a ruthless trainer that Kyandii could actually learn things from. Still, the tone of her voice was clearly pleased with the idea of being taken on as an apprentice.

In regards to the small amount of background, her respect for Blanka, and her friend Anya, instantly rose. She couldn't bring herself to apologize to her for the hardships she had faced though--- because that was what it made them into today. "I understand." And she did to some degree. "I can't even begin to compare, but I've traveled through foreign terrains in my training before." She understood, and there was no way she could pry so deeply into that information and feel good about it.

She then sighed a bit at the mention of ABR, "No. I'm not." Blunt answer; it was then that she noticed the movement, and although a bit suspicious because of a lack of motive to fight her... didn't seem to take immediate defense--- not to say that she didn't prop her leg up, subtly, on the chair so she could easily kick up the table between them if needed. "I'm rather horrid at aim." She managed an ever sheepish grin, reaching up to push aside her coat and her shirt, her bare shoulder showed a rather nasty jagged scar, old but still very much visible. "I kinda messed up this shoulder a bit when I got this injury and we think it never healed quite right." She shrugged a bit, letting the clothing slide back into place. "Perhaps you'd like that sort of challenge though?" Another grin.

Blanka wasn't surprised that all of Kyandii's teachers would be male. It was the same just like her her home country if anyone sought after any combat training, "Same like in my country. All men. However there are some things that are better with a.....woman's touch da?" she asked with her playful grin as she picked up her coffee cup with one hand while the other was below the table. Her legs were crossed beneath the table, so her left ankle wasn't too far from her grasp if the moment called for her to act. Hearing the willingness and interest from her voice, perhaps it was a possibility for the future once she properly gauges how much she is willing to learn to better her combat ability. "Perhaps one day I would take you up on that to see how much that city has taught you."

Kyandii's seriousness mentally threw Blanka off, however it didn't show on her face. "Oh no no you misunderstand. It was a tough time yes. But it was also fun for both Anya and I. We had tough time surviving but it was wonderful to test abilities in raw environment. Better then any silly training felicity" her tone was that of a nostalgia and pride. "I was honored to survive in such conditions! It made me stronger than I was before. Anything enemy could throw meant nothing." she smiled fondly over her experience. "Those wilderness taught me to be tough and learn to use what I have to make best of what I barley have. Never forget this: any object can be mighty weapon in the right hands. For example, Anya's fur sweater. Guess where she got that from. No silly department store. She gets her clothes the way most russians do...from whatever we kill or what's around us; which means both things normally. She used the same barley working army knife to kill and skin it. That girl should never be underestimated. Her ability with manicures match that of her combat skills.Flawless and effortless" That story reminded her, she needed to get a new coat for the spring season, she better plan another camping trip soon.

Kyandii's movements were very subtle, if it wasn't for the fact that Blanka knew that present company had the experience in fights that she did, she wouldn't be as hyper aware as she was to brace for whatever counter the girl may posses. She was excited to see....

Her inability to use guns also surprised the russian beauty. How was it that she lived in such a city, but hasn't mastered the use of a gun? Her thought was interrupted when she was show the scar, "Wow, impressive if it didn't look painful. From shape of it...." she took a closer look. "It looks like it was in some sort of knife fight yes?. Hard kind it was from the wound now. But since you don't use guns I'm guess hand to hand and melee is your style. Straight forward and and up close....I like it...."

Her hand caressed the ridge of her boot as she spoke. The moment she spoke the last word, Blanka pushed the chair back and held pulled the knife swiftly from her shoe to hold the blade up to point between Kyandii's eyes and held it there still. Her hands we as steady and solid as concrete and never shook or twitched. Calm and collected as the woman holding it in front of her.

"You have no idea." Kyandii flashed the female a fervent smile, knowing full well that the two of them would get along in the future no matter how things turned out from here. Respect was huge when acknowledging other fighters, and it so helped that the two of them apparently shared some of the same views in regards to teaching. "I look forward to that time." She still had that playful grin, but she was very much genuine in her words. Fighting meant a lot to her, for multiple reasons, and while it was something she might one day have to give up, it was a useful skill that would come in handy for a lifetime.

Did she misunderstand? The third year blinked in surprise again, crossing her arms lightly as she listened. "Oh, I'm sorry. The way you spoke made it seem as though you had wished for er... better circumstances?" She liked camping just as much, and spending time outdoors, just... the freedom of it all. "It helps build character?" A grin stretched across her lips in amusement. It was no wonder those girl's became who they were today, so strong-willed and tough. Or so she could only assume the same of this Anya she had yet to meet. Kyandii had never had enough gall to kill anything other then fish or something that attacked her first. And the conversation from earlier only proved to remind her just how hardcore this woman no doubt was. She was eager to see it as well. "I'd be lying if I haven't thought of throwing some rather annoying students from here into a random forest for a few days." There was a small twitch to the corner of her mouth, "I'll admit there's still some things I can't bring myself to ever do, but traveling definitely gave me a sense of desperation, and it's really only in that state of mind that you garner those skills."

Other then that one move of her leg, she hadn't made any other moves or gave any sign that she was prepared for anything. She still looked rather laid-back and relaxed, perhaps due to the conversation. "Yes, a blade. Well, two." The double-bladed user had not been merciful on her in that particular fight, and while there was no point in showing the Russian female anymore then that brief glance at her shoulder, that slightly jagged scar definitely did not end there.

With a rather bright grin, she hummed and brought a hand up to count off her fingers. "I'm most skilled with a katana. But I started off with a staff. And you're correct in assuming I'm better with hand-to-hand combat." But of course... she didn't need to share all those details... especially when one scarlet beauty was throwing a surprise attack. Surprisingly, the third year made no move to react, though the fact she hadn't flinched made it quite clear she hadn't been taken off guard in the least.

For a few moments, she did nothing more then silently communicate with her eyes, and fought the urge to give that small sadistic grin of hers...

Abruptly her own boot connected with the table and she pushed the wooden obstacle that acted as a barrier between them in the other female's direction roughly. Kyandii didn't wait to see if it rammed into her or not though, having used that kick to tip herself back out of the chair and roll back into a more defensive stance. The action also proved to widen the space between the two ladies as well, and give the third year enough time to hike up the edge of her skirt far enough to pull the leather-bound dagger from it's pouch strapped to her thigh.

Blanka smiled at Kyandii, "Perhaps one day I shall take you with Anya and I to woods so that way we all get new coats da?" her tone was serious in the offer. It would be a nice experience for the three of them and it would be able to make Kyandii into an even tougher opponent. "Trip will give you the proper state of mind to make your will turn from iron to cold hard steel. Just like the might of my country" she took another sip of her coffee.

"Two blades huh? That sounds painful to endure. You are brave girl indeed." Kyandii's clothing hid the rest of the scar for Blanka to properly guess what happened. Maybe one day if she became closer friends with her, perhaps she could share the story of a scar that she always has covered up. Only person who knew of its existence was her partner and best friend, Anya. "I'm glad you were able to survive from such an experience."

Blanka jumped up over the table that was lunged towards her as she kept her blade in hand. Not surprisingly, Kyan also wielded a blade towards her. Both ladies stood there with each other's blades in very close proximity toward the other's face. The scarlet beauty stood resilient and still with a calm expression as she held up her knife.

While she didn't comment on it, Kyandii couldn't help but feel a small amount of anticipation at the idea of a little trip to the woods, a place she rather liked and would drop everything to "vacation" in more often........ if it didn't lack indoor plumbing, that was.

Again, a silent stand-off between the two as they gauged each other in the closer proximity. It was strange for Kyandii to feel the need to pause once a fight had been so obviously issued, and she idly wondered if it was because the woman wasn't falling through with her attacks. 'Does she want me to take the offensive?' What kind of test was this supposed to be? Of course she knew it was a test. This woman didn't seem like the type to stop once she got going either.

"I wouldn't say I'm that brave." She grinned, stance unmoving. "I know when it's best to play the coward as well." Not the best at it. But she was definitely getting better at picking out the relatively weaker/equal in strength fighters she came across--- or side-stepping the one's that obviously would be too much trouble for her. Again, she struck out abruptly, the movement perhaps strange for a practiced dagger-user as the blade had been quickly flipped in her hand so the hilt was the source of impact if any of the sixteen basic moves were to actually land on the female. Though the blade was still very much in an easy to move position if she decided to change her mind last minute.

There was a noticeable lack of strength behind the blows that could only be explained as lack of upper body strength, something that Blanka as a fellow artist in the field of fighting would definitely notice in the attacks, but she was trained well with a blade and at least knew some defense, even if it could definitely be worked on.

Blanka's rigid posture showcased her complete control over every muscle in her body to be used to its up most deadly if needed. Because of this, Kyandii's posture stuck out like a sore thumb to the russian beauty's eyes. "You have resilient heart but little rusty. But you can get ready at moment's notice" She could respect that. "You have untapped potential that needs work but you can do great things in being assassin"

With a smile, she leaned over and sheathed her knife on the inside of her boot. While making sure it was properly secure so it wouldn't slipped, she said. "We go to gun range. Will help with posture" she proclaimed without taking no for answer.

Less than 20 minutes later, they were standing in front of a gun range. Once Blanka says something, it means they're going to do what she says. The scarlet beauty walked forward towards the doors with the sounds of her heels clicking after her. "I will pay, think as play date. For things we shoot are baby toys"

There might of been the lightest dust of red to the third year's cheeks as her technique--- or lack of, was criticized. She already knew quite well that she was lacking in quite a few area's, but it was still embarrassing to have them pointed out. Kyandii faltered at the term assassin though, blinking in surprise, a brief flash of pain? Fear? crossing her expression. "Assassin? I can't... I mean, I..." For once, the girl was left speechless, unsure how to respond to those words.

Which was all fine and dandy, because suddenly Kyandii found herself at a gun range with a say on the matter--- but no, she wouldn't have refused anyway. It wasn't everyday that she ran into someone openly willing to give her lessons. It made Kyan rather... happy.

"Can't say I'm any better at even the baby toys." She drawled in tired amusement, as if predicting how this particular lesson would go. She silently hoped Blanka could teach her though. Even if she didn't use the skills for assassinating, they would at least be handy for self defense purposes in the inner city of ABR.

Kyandii followed the pretty brunette through the doors, eyes immediately going wide with interest at the sheer amount of weaponry within the building's walls. Were some of those even legally useable? "You really think I can learn?" She hummed questionably. Some people just weren't meant to hold guns, and she believed herself to be one if only for the old shoulder injury that quite possibly healed wrong. Luckily a sword was long enough to cover that little flaw, but aim was a completely different issue.

"Of course, a baby needs to learn to hold before she can shoot. It's old saying in homeland" When the brunette walked up to the counter, passerby eyes from the other patrons knew who she was right away and feared her as well as well as respected her.

"Welcome back Blanka! I see you brought in a friend? She one of your your 'special friends'?" the blonde older gentleman asked the scarlet beauty.

"I hope that is light banter on questioning sexuality other than my hobbies and other affairs; otherwise I would be requesting personal instruction with you to better aiming...." Blanka's eyes squinted some to show she meant business.

The cold deadness in the scarlet beauty's eyes was enough to have the have the man trembling as he pulled up a semi automatic riffle for Blanka. "My play-thing when I come practice" she explained to Kyandii as she checked to make sure it was unload it. "Give me FNH FNS-9"

"Ooooh, good choice" the man said with a slight tremor in his voice as he pulled it up on the counter for them to look.

After she was done inspecting her own weapon, she picked up the pistol and took out the clip. "First rule before going into battlefield, make sure your weapon is empty. Take out clip, empty chamber. You don't want to shoot your commrades. Silly americans kill own men from this oversight" The sounds of the clicking from the weapon as she pulled back the chamber and a bullet coming out of the chamber. "See? If you didn't check someone who didn't know what they where doing could have died. Last person with this was a moron." With the chamber being pulled back, Blanka held up the empty chamber and was looking at Kyandii through the empty hole. "Make it habit to always be able to look through chamber to be extra sure. To be you're most deadly to your enemy, you must be safe yourself. This will become extension of you when you get more experience"

She handed the empty gun over to her. "Take some time getting used to the way it feels in hand. Pull back the top to open and close. No bullets, so no need to be afraid yet." he humor was dry due to the borderline truth.

Having been trailing behind the scarlet beauty, Kyandii hadn't had the pleasure of seeing the look that caused the instant feeling of dread and fear in the other patrons around them, though she definitely sensed it--- and she couldn't help but grin at the effect the overpowering woman had on others. Kyandii highly respected this type of woman.

"Floyd taught me to do that as well, though it apparently didn't stick on me..." If a sense of dejavu was anything to go by. The senior, while still unsure, took the gun from the female's hold and tested the weight in her hand. She certainly couldn't remember what gun Floyd had began training her with, but it wasn't even remotely close to this one. Not to mention that very brief amount of training had been far enough back that she wouldn't of remembered to check the chamber if Blanka hadn't mentioned it. Luckily her hands seemed to remember how to at least hold the weapon properly, how to slide it back, and even the safety.

Still. "Feels so foreign. I've been using blades for so long that it's strange to be holding a gun." She couldn't deny the fact that when in a pinch, an extra form of weaponry(especially in ABR) would be very handy, and could even potentially save her life one day. Kyandii highly doubted she would ever attempt anything more then the pistol though--- like the automatic rifle in the brunette's possession. When she didn't have her sword on hand, it was her dagger she depended on, and hiding a pistol on her person couldn't be too hard to do. "So we're shooting today?" The third year grinned in anticipation at her newest friend and possible long-term teacher.

Kyandiice DeLuna

Kyandii knew some of her way around a gun and it proved to Blanka that the third year did have some prior training; even if it was little.

Without a word, the scarlet beauty's hand was suddenly on Kyandii's as her slender and well manicured fingers intertwined with the school girl for a brief moment to stop her hand from moving any further. The motion was quick and subtle. Her grip wasn't rough but it was assertive enough to halt any other movements. "Rule of thumb: Never touch safety unless you intend to shoot even with no bullets. Bad habit to make. Unless you aim to subdue or kill don't do it. Littlest of pressure can pull the trigger to shoot someone. Specially when you have semi-automatic. Littlest pressure and this thing will shoot forever. " Blanka did have to intervene when Kyandii's fingers got close to the safety.

Finally pulling her hand away, the russian beauty nodded, "Yes we shoot today. It's very good learning experience to throw you into fray da?" she mentioned as she pointed to the two guns for the shop keep to get ready for their shooting as they made their way to the back.

"First we get protective gear. When shooting for fun you need earphone to protect ears, bullet vest, safety goggles and gloves." Blanka opened various cabinets and leaned over to get their equipment. After equipping themselves with all the necessary gear, they made their way out towards the shooting area.

They made their way down stairs as they saw what looked like booths one would stand at facing very long alleyways away from them. Ahead were cables that dawned shooting targets; some of which were left from previous shooters before them. "I took liberty of booking for two of us only. That way you feel comfortable without needing to feel conscience yes?" she said as she walked over to where their weapons laid awaiting them in a special storage unit for guns.

Blanka demonstrated how to load and unload the magazine to Kyandii. Next she then showed the proper way to stand and hold the gun to best deal with kick-back. "Kick-back for guns is different. But we deal with only this one." Approaching the stand, she pressed a button to have the holder for the target come close to them and bear a brand new target for them to practice on. Pressing the button again, it sent the target going back to the end of the alleyway.

"Alright, repeat stance and I will help you with first shot to get used to kick back" When Kyandii held the gun, Blanka calmly put her arms around the third year and placed her hands firmly over hers on the handle of the pistol. "You want to hold firmly like I do it. You feel it da? This part is too important. You don't hold well the gun will fly back in face and break your nose. Whenever ready, pull the trigger" reaffirming her grip, Blanka squeezed the pistol some so Kyandii could get a better idea so she could try by herself.
