Occult Nekozawa

She'd requested the meeting, not knowing who else to go to, in the closest place she could think of as neutral ground. Though it was cold and she wasn't even certain he'd received her note, let alone whether he'd actually come, Shiny sat on a bench in the far corner of the school's gardens, where the hedge grew tall enough to block out any direct sunlight most of the day, and waited.

Umehito had found the letter once he returned home from his visit to the resort. It seemed Kadomastu had received it for him, but with all the commotion at the salon... Had been too concern for his Masters well-being to pass it on right then. Nekozawa quietly passed those around him and made his way to where the note mentioned. He attempted to Recall who this, 'Shiny' Character was. Hadn't Kyouya asked him about someone like that before? With his thicker hood pulled over his head he made his way through the Gardens. It wasn't until he say the glimmer of the girl sitting alone that he remembered. "Does the 'Court Of Illumination' Mean anything to you, Sempai?" He had been asked. So this was who he was asking about... Odd. Her presence seems weaker than before when I had encountered her the first time... Since The Dark prince let Belzenef at The Club, he approached Her with his arms under the cloak, giving him his normal appearance of a Solitary Standing Shadow.

Though it was shady in this section of the garden there was still light, and she immediately noticed the inky swath of shadow that was approaching. "Oh merciful comets, you came!" She immediately stood, a cautious smile offered even as her skin prickled with the proximity. Unlike many other students she wasn't afraid of him, but that didn't change the fact that so much shadow made the fallen star twitchy. "I... I wasn't certain if you would agree to meet me. Thank you for coming."

Nekozawa bowed his head slightly acknowledging Shiny. He still kept some distance between them, but moved close enough to where she could speak and be heard clearly. "I hope you are able to forgive my delay." He told her. "Your written voice sounded and spoke of urgency." Umehito recalled reading her note. "Is there something I can assist you with, Miss Rayonnant?" He was not used to being called out of the blue like this. Something serious must be happening, and he was sure it had something to do with the oddness he'd been noticing.

"Oh, I do hope so. I didn't know of anyone else I could ask." She hesitated then, the deep-seated fears about exposing the truth of what she was rearing up at the prospect of just coming right out with pretty much all of it to him. But she knew he wasn't evil, just dark, so she took in a deep breath and braced herself. "Do you... have you ever heard of the Court of Illumination?" One little step at a time, she could do this. Definitely her. There was that Question again. He had In fact heard of it. But the Idea of the Court made him faintly nervous. Umehito Remained still as Shiny approached him. "I have." He stated. "To many with a knowledge of religious history it is an ancient Cult, or Coven of Individuals who Worship Heavenly Bodies such as the Stars above and all things Light. As a Child of Darkness, It is only natural for me to know of my Contrasting assembly." He Chose his next words carefully, and felt like he was stepping over a boundary of secrets. "Because of this... I am also Familiar with their Mythology. And that The Court was supposedly named after the Kingdom of which the Heavenly Stars resided." He paused and watched her carefully.
"Tell me, Miss Rayonnant.." The Bright aura of her presence wavered, like a flickering flame. "How does this Court relate to your troubles?" Nekozawa might have been able to guess the answer. Being able to see and Identify Unnatural characteristics was his hidden specially. It was clear that his knowledge of the Court was only half of what she wanted to know. Umehito wondered if Kyouya had Let her know of his investigation.

Contrasting assembly... not enemy. that little detail had her relaxing just a hair more, her smile one of relief. She nodded in confirmation of the facts he provided,"Yes, that is all true... all of it." Including the mythology itself. Reassured that he did in fact know about her kind and her home, at least in part, Shiny sat back down again and gestured for him to do the same on the other bench.

"I asked of the Court because if you did not know of it, then it was almost certain you wouldn't understand my... problem. I am... I am from the Court. The, ah... the Heavenly one." Cringing even as she said it. "Heavenly" was a word with far too much religious connotation for her comfort, and had a way of confusing people because of it.

Nekozawa moved closer to the open bench but continued to stand. She is from the Court? Ah.. That explains it. The Initial brightness that not only shined from her fashion, but from within her spirit as well. Nekozawa had a feeling this was because of inhuman characteristics. Therefore he was not too surprised at this admission of hers. He was however.. Faintly intrigued by the fact that she come to him with this truth. The 'Prince of Darkness' simply nodded to Shiny. "I see," He noted the cringe. Nekozawa began thinking of several possibilities that could be the cause of the trouble, but not wanting to guess... he lifted his head so that his Blue eyes met hers. "I take it your Confession was not the only incentive for being here today."

"No, it is not. Forgive me this is... it's difficult for me to volunteer any of this. I never had any intention of anyone finding out that I am... not as I seem." Another deep breath in and she nodded, more to herself than to him, "My abilities are failing me. As a Shining One - a star, if you will - there are things I can do that are innate to what I am. And they are fading." As she spoke she twisted her hands together, trying valiantly to keep herself calm. After a moment however she stood and began to pace, worry etched into her features. "I do not know why they are fading, and without access to the Court's archives I haven't the first idea of where to turn to for that information. Can you... help? Do you know how or...or where I might find answers?"

Nekozawa listen patiently as she paced. He thought about what Shiny was telling him. "You don't know what could be the cause? Hmm... Can you remember when you first began to notice the Light within you fading?" He recalled several other oddities over the past few weeks. Could they possibly be connected? "If I may, What is stopping you from Returning to the Court?" He asked her calmly. "Are perhaps.. Others like you that can be reached in this realm?" He asked curiously. As he waited for answers Nekozawa considered this problem, he searched his memory for what could help her.

"Well, no. I've never heard of a star's light fading before. There was Astrid, who chose to give up her light to be mortal, but I haven't done that." At least, I don't think I have... is it possible to make that kind of choice by accident, or without knowing you did it? "And I'm only three hundred, it's just not possible that I could already be going dark!" Now that she'd confessed the big secret of what she was, it was like a floodgate had opened.

"I could go back, I suppose... but I would have to leave this body to do so and I don't know what would happen to it if I did. And others? I... I don't know. Someone must have done this before, or else the rituals for making a mortal form wouldn't have existed for me to find, but... but I don't think there's currently any others from the Court in this realm."

It was clear how anxious Shiny was about her situation. Her panic only increased his will to assist the best he could. Umehito thought carefully considered her response. "Unfortunately I am not as familiar as you are with Astral Beings and Mortal Bodies." As if reading her mind he asked, "Has anything different, new or unusual happened lately? Anything that could have triggered your deeper subconscious to make the same decision as your friend?" 300 Years? Indeed... quite young for a star.

When Shiny mentioned having to do a ritual for her current form he looked up. "Was this the first time you Performed this Mortal Body Ritual?" Having done many rituals himself, although far from this form, he knew how possible it was to get some things wrong on the first try.

She stopped her pacing to look at him, appreciating his patience and willingness to help more than she could say. "I can't think of anything outwardly apparent that would have counted as choosing to become mortal, but then... Astrid never told me how she did it, only that she did. I had always assumed that a- a ritual was involved, but..."

Her thoughts were cut off at his second question and she wrinkled her nose, nodding, "Oui, and I know I got at least one thing wrong..." She pulled off her glove then, holding out her hand to show him the opalescent and very obviously not-quite-human skin. "It took me nearly a year to create this body, and far more Light than I have now."

Nekozawa took a small step forward to see her hand better. Shiny was right, something must have gone wrong during the initial form creation. "Was this effect already in place when your ritual completed? Or had is spread over time? Since your efforts of creation were at least minimally flawed, the result you have now.." He nodded to her, "..may only be temporary."

Umehito thought for a moment, he looked up suddenly, "Which could be the reason your light if fading." He told her. "Most of your dormant light has been powering the existence of this temporary form, and it is beginning to drain you."

((I swear I posted a reply to this, I wish I knew where it disappeared to! >_< ))

"The skin condition was far more pronounced when the process was finished. I have been working to reduce the visible flaws so I would... fit in better." The last part spoken softly as she tugged her glove back on. It was a very obvious sore point for her that she'd bungled something so very visible. With a heavy sigh she absorbed what he suggested and sat down heavily on the bench, for a moment allowing hopelessness to settle over her shoulders.

She was not one to be kept down for long however, and resolutely straightened up again, "It is a sound theory, and I find myself inclined to agree. Whether by flaw or by design, this form is... draining me. I knew it would, to some extent, but this is... it's too much. I'm not ready to go yet, nor to... to give up what I am. There must be an alternate solution, even just a temporary one, yes?"
