Billy already has 18 tons of stuff which he's pretty stoked about. Now his goal is to gain more, not lose it all like he does with his platinum, not that people in this universe know about platinum currency- although platinum around here is surely more valuable than in his home world. And it's a good thing he sticks to more legal recreation like drinking at bars.
Billy is really bored and lonely so he stops by a couple bars along the way. Fortunately, the locals are friendly and share some of their valuables in exchange for- adult things. This is a PG-13 forum, Billy (don't worry about him, he's pushing 29). Keep the details to yourself. Billy, are you turning into a hoe stare no judgement, only concern for your health and safety. Then again, maybe it was just time for them to do some spring cleaning, and one alien's trash is this man's treasure. Either way, it's a win-win. +1 +1 = 20
Billy also sees an old man who is most definitely a "retired" jedi with a boy who is even more definitely a jedi in training and two droids who act completely ridiculous but are 100% bona fide geniuses who will absolutely save the universe. He helps them complete whatever secret operation they have in exchange for a free 3-day vacation (sorry Billy, not so indefinite as you hoped) in a popular tourist destination and 3 tons of pure currency. Not bad. +3 = 23

Billy is really loving this smuggling. Much better than fighting that stupid spider guy, even more than smashing up bots (not that senseless mechanical destruction isn't fun.) He thinks that once his modeling career is over, he'll take up smuggling, or at least interplanetary trade.
(3 days later, after his free vacation, still with 23 tons of freight on board) +1 +4 +1 = 29
Today, Billy realized he's officially an outlaw. Seriously, who put all those signs up with his ridiculously handsome and distinctive face on it? Now he wishes he looked more like all the other guys. He figures he might as well make off with an extra ton of stolen goods. Then he happens upon the ship of some poor, hapless soul who doesn't have nearly as good luck. Billy wishes he could somehow pay back the favor by helping the captured smuggler escape, but that would be too risky and plus, this guy might've been a real a-hole and not wanted to share the goods once free. Best not to risk it.
At the end of the day, he finds a nice obscure bar and grabs drinks with a hot alien girl with TENTACLES ON HER FACE!! like, how lucky can one guy possibly get?
Well, not as lucky as he wants, because she absolutely refuses to stay with him for more than one night. Dang, he wanted a hot tentacled alien girlfriend so bad. She gives him a nice gift though, a ton of expensive antique alien art she inherited and has absolutely no room for in her new apartment.
