Alright, so what happens if two families have the same name? Do I put the head of house also in the name or what?

Well It's a family I started, I think since there wasn't another of the same name. I had made some cousins that I was going to ask others if they wanted to be part of the family, but how do I differentiate the two? It's the Snow Family.

I realized I worded my question wrong. I meant what do I do about the different houses? So that the two don't share a house?

Alright, this is fairly simple. You simply have to differentiate which members live in which house.
